Restaurant Split in Bergkamen

We've been visiting this restaurant for years during our stays in North Rhine-Westphalia. We appreciate the consistently good quality of the food and drinks offered. The prices are also moderate.

This restaurant is hidden gem. Not only they have AMAZING food but also excellent customer service,beautiful environment and perfect for families with children, little playground is big plus. Can’t wait to visit again. They are able to speak many languages. If you have a chance to stop by you must do.

Unfortunately there was only one holiday menu on Easter Sunday, veal cordon bleu was made from aged beef, the lamb chops were fried too black, otherwise there was unfortunately only one fish dish and zero vegetarian main courses. Service was friendly, but there were tables that were filled later but were served earlier. Wouldn't go there anymore.

I celebrated my 60th birthday there with my family and friends and we ordered a champagne reception, beef soup as a starter, platters of beef, pork and turkey steaks, French fries, croquettes, vegetables, salad and, for dessert, vanilla ice cream with hot cherries. The tables were beautifully set in a separate area, all the food and drinks were, according to the feedback from my guests and in my opinion, particularly tasty and the service was absolutely attentive and very accommodating. All my guests and I felt very comfortable there and really enjoyed the birthday party. Many thanks to the Split Restaurant team!!!!

We weren't satisfied. The quality of the food was below average. But the prices are okay.

The Split restaurant seems quite inconspicuous at first glance, but once you drive into the parking lot you'll be amazed. A beautiful beer garden where it's fun to linger. In the restaurant itself, everything is stylishly furnished. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The boss himself takes care of his guests, that's how it has to be. The food...a dream, it was incredibly tasty, from the salad to the main course, just great. This restaurant deserves ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ without any deductions. We can only recommend it.

Visited 04/05/25, Saturday, about 1:30 p.m. Conclusion in advance: recommended. 1x schnitzel, 2x ladies toast, 1x mixed grill plate. Plus drinks (shandy and cola), plus starter soup and a side salad. The dishes: Schnitzel, ladies' toast and the additions were OK: 4 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Unfortunately, the meat on the mixed grill plate was overcooked and therefore quite dry and a bit tough. (Therefore only 3 stars for grill mix 🌟 🌟 🌟). Taste OK. Portion sizes quite large. Good. Prices: Are common, rather in the middle range, compared to other restaurants. (NOTE: There is a lunch menu from Monday to Friday. The price-performance ratio is very good here). Operation: Very friendly, quick. 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Ambience: Very clean restaurant. Also toilets 1A. 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Parking: Right behind the house.

Now one of our favorite restaurants. Food is always good, very nice staff. Here you can eat deliciously and inexpensively without any worries.

Highly recommended. There is also a cheap lunch menu available. Service was very friendly and asked if everything was OK. I'm looking forward to getting to know the beer garden in the summer. Parking spaces directly in front of the house.

I've enjoyed eating here again and again for decades. By bike on the Klöckner railway line to the beer garden. By car, from Selm: For a cheap, delicious lunch or a barbecue dinner.

We were invited to the Split restaurant yesterday for my birthday. The menu offered a large selection, but at first I thought we were in a German home-style restaurant. The food was tasty and the price was okay. Unfortunately, the waitresses are not coordinated and so they are at the table more often than necessary. Finally we were brought the bill, which we wanted to pay by card. Unfortunately, the waitress had brought a receipt for cash payment. She didn't want to comply with the request to pay by card. Thank God we had enough cash with us.

The restaurant is awesome! Ambience, excellently designed. Every table was set with candles and napkins as well as cotton tablecloths!!! The food: an absolute dream. “We” indulged ourselves with the entire menu. I was able to experience a “unique taste explosion”. Super freshly prepared and absolutely delicious and wholesome. It was my first time there, but definitely not the last time. The staff, the service experienced perfection. My impression: absolutely recommended!

And again today: Everyone here was very friendly and polite. The meal was excellent. Thanks, see you next time

Once again I was at a new restaurant for a birthday party. This time it was the split. It doesn't seem that big from the main street, but it actually has plenty of space for guests. At the back you can sit outside very nicely, great. We were greeted very friendly and the table was reserved. The selection on the menu is very plentiful. There's probably something for everyone. I really enjoyed it!! What I saw on the others' plates looked no less delicious :-). I was really happy again! Very friendly staff, the boss tops everything :-) and it was quick, even though the restaurant was very busy. The price is also really okay, not too expensive. We will definitely go to the split more often now. I can recommend the restaurant to all of you! Bye Michael

Nice Christmas dinner. The restaurant was well attended. But despite everything, the service was super friendly and accommodating. The food was highly recommended. Meat was super tasty and juicy. Portion price performance was very good. There was a Christmas card that was very well stocked. We would be happy to come back and we can recommend the restaurant with a very clear conscience

Im ganz eigenen Flair kann man eine hervorragende Küche geniessen. Inhaber - teileise selbst am Herd stehend - weit gereist und viel Erfahrung mitgebracht, welche heute Grundlage in den Speisen findet. Ob ganz klassisch oder ausgeflippt - es passt immer. Sehr gut.

We are regular guests, always nice on the terrace in summer and in the restaurant in winter. Everything is always FRESH, the plates are well filled. We can recommend this restaurant for any occasion, whether small or large. Even a funeral reception was in good hands here. Many thanks again to the owner, who knows exactly what is good for his guests.

Food was great! I had a schnitzel and it was simply delicious. The waitresses were friendly and we were served quickly. One star deducted because card payment is only possible from €20. Unfortunately, this is no longer appropriate for me.

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere, nice staff

Rustic coziness, with an extensive menu and plenty of dishes that can sometimes be larger than your hunger. The basics (e.g. fries and schnitzel) were never of poor quality for me. Moderate prices, although it goes without saying that not everything is freshly prepared, but it is always delicious for my down-to-earth palate. A freshly dressed salad is served as a starter and a delicious pear liqueur at the end. I was treated kindly, so I would be happy to come back.

One of the best restaurants I know. Super nice and polite. The atmosphere is super cozy. And the food is always great. We've been there several times and we'll always go back. What's also great is that dogs are allowed. So it's always worth eating. Can only recommend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Ich war das erste Mal hier und bin immer noch begeistert von dem sehr besonderen Service. Der Chef ist supernett, die Bedienung sehr freundlich und sympathisch, umsichtig und aufmerksam. Das Essen war lecker, es gab sogar eine Suppe vorweg, und ich war rundum zufrieden. Ich komme gerne wieder, wenn ich mal wieder in der Gegend bin.

I can absolutely recommend the Croatian restaurant Split in Bergkamen because the family-friendly service and the food is simply delicious and extensive. The fresh and whole sea bream was filleted for us by the super friendly waiter and we were shown and explained how it was done. The children's meals can also be customized & there is a small mini playground with a swing outside. If the somewhat narrow parking lot is full, you can park directly on the main street. We will be very happy to come back.

Main course class, "house plate" very good, / platter for 2 people excellent and lots of it., mixed grill plate completely ok.. service at the table great. What more could you want... At the end there was a Julischka...very good. Price/performance ratio was absolutely ok. Unfortunately the beer garden was closed due to the weather. Very good service (not intrusive), we hardly sat down and asked for drinks, good menu - something for everyone and what doesn't suit (e.g. due to intolerances) is made appropriate, the food was delicious and plentiful, but not too much

The food was a disaster. If you say you want a steak all the way through without blood, you get the complete opposite. The waitress comes every minute and asks if everything is okay. They look at your food more than you do. Ambiance is fine.

We spontaneously got around to trying out the split on Saturday. Four of us (with 2 children) were greeted and served immediately and in a friendly manner. The food was extremely tasty. The various types of meat on the grilled plates were all juicy and perfectly prepared. Dry, "roasted to death" meat was sought here in vain. The side dishes (homemade rice and salad plates) were also significantly better than one would expect in this price segment. We were all very enthusiastic and are already planning our next visit.
