I'm new to Voerde, I just moved. I was looking online for a great Greek restaurant and found Sokrates. Simply fantastic, super delicious food, and the staff was a dream – so many smiles in one place, I've never seen anything like it before. The food was amazing. We'll be back! What looks like a typical German clubhouse from the outside turns out to be an owner-operated restaurant inside, offering a wide variety of Greek dishes in a very cozy yet inviting atmosphere. The food itself clearly reflects the owners' Greek heritage and their passion for gastronomy. An absolute gem, and therefore earning full marks in all categories.

The food here is delicious and the portions are generous. Great value for money! The service is incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I highly recommend it!

We attended a birthday party at the Taverna Sokrates yesterday. We had a private room separate from the main restaurant. The food was served as a buffet. The service was extremely attentive, and the food was delicious. The tables were beautifully decorated, although the room itself was somewhat sparsely decorated. Otherwise, everything was great; we had a lovely evening!

Average: We caught it on the last day before the company closed. The fridge had been raided, so perhaps that puts the impression into perspective. The food consisted mostly of pan-fried pork, and unfortunately, the poor pig died twice. It was completely overcooked. So, the craftsmanship was rather substandard... a shame. The service and ambiance were okay.

As an individual guest, you seem to be unwelcome, and despite the restaurant's capacity, you're not given a seat. I won't go there anymore.

A really good Greek restaurant. We were invited there and were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was! It was a huge plus that we could sit outside and the people who served us were so nice :), including a nice young waiter (Tim), two young ladies, and an older gentleman. Without exception, everyone was very nice, friendly, and attentive. The food was truly delicious (the Metaxa sauce is definitely worth mentioning), and the appetizers were also good. We had onion soup, bifteki, stuffed vine leaves, pork fillet with pineapple, and chicken baked with cheese – everything was delicious! The atmosphere there was also really pleasant... Highly recommended <3

Good Greek cuisine, often with a small, fresh salad. Large portions at reasonable prices. A lovely terrace overlooking the tennis courts, and friendly hosts. We enjoyed our meal.

Hello to the Greek fan community....... As ALWAYS, we had excellent food and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and service.... You're always warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Unfortunately, as always, there was no ouzo on the house. It was part of the end of the meal, somehow!! Until then.....

The food and service here are really excellent. Service really good, nice and accommodating. Atmosphere inside really nice and cozy. On the terrace the furniture has come in years and is very simple. You could work on it here. Otherwise everything is TOP

We spontaneously decided on two gyros plates with fries. Unfortunately, we discovered that the quality had fallen even further. The gyro was very greasy and it squeaked with every other bite. 😢 The fries were twice fried and extremely hard.... There was hardly any dressing on the salad that came with it, so it was sent to the organic bin. The bottom line is that we will no longer visit the restaurant and will not recommend it to others. There are two stars for the friendly staff and the short waiting time.

Ordered there twice to pick up and the food was delicious, the portions are filling, the waitresses are friendly and the prices are fair for what you get.

The service was great. Totally nice and accommodating. The food was good, but the fries were unfortunately a bit too dark. Standard salad dressing. Everything ok so far. Personally I found it a bit too close to the table, but that's a matter of taste.

We ate there again and the journey from Dinslaken was worth it. The boss and his young employees were responsible for the service. Very friendly and attentive. The boss was responsible for the food and the starter and main course were excellent and plentiful. Leftover food was packed up to take away as requested. Two dilated people have a delicious meal the next day. CONCLUSION again and again

Gutes Essen, Service sehr gut 👍 hat gute Empfehlungen geleistet 👌👌👌,Ambiente haben draußen gesessen ist okay, da wir mit unserem Hund 🐕 dort waren, das Essen ist dann auch schneller kalt, aber das hat nichts mit dem Restaurant zu tun wir wollten ja draußen bleiben. Drinnen ist es sehr gemütlich können wir sehr gerne weiter empfehlen 😃👍👍👍

Da wir gerne griechisch essen, haben wir das Restaurant Sokrates ausprobiert. Restaurant befindet sich auch gleich neben dem Sportplatz. Das Essen war gut und die Bedienung freundlich.

Insgesamt war alles in Ordnung. Das Essen war lecker. Der "pure Reis" war etwas öde. Da hat man bei anderen griechischen Restaurants etwas mehr Raffinesse.
