Restaurant Simona in Barßel

We were at the Simona restaurant on the occasion of an 85th birthday and the visit was unfortunately very disappointing. The toilets didn't work and there was no hot water. Despite being pointed out, no insight was shown and there was neither an apology nor a solution. The drinks were expired, the tablecloth was stuck to the table, and overall cleanliness was poor - everything from the salt and pepper shakers to the window levers were sticky. The food was also unconvincing, especially the red cabbage, which was completely over-seasoned. Overall the visit was a big disappointment.

It was another lovely evening at Simona's today. The food was excellent (grilled plate), the meat was so tender and cooked to perfection that it could be cut apart with a fork, the fries were crispy, well seasoned and well hot, even though we were sitting outside, where the ambience is even more beautiful View of the water, the (still) blue sky. The service, as always, was quick and friendly. Shortly before the cloud cover decided to move in, we were pleasantly full. A little bit of small talk with the service and boss then happily go home. “At Simona’s” is always a positive experience!

We were there for the first time today and were thrilled. Very nice staff, the food was excellent and stylishly prepared. Inside there is a salad bar with a lot of selection and different sauces. There was also a greeting from the kitchen in advance: delicious small, home-baked rolls with home-made herb butter, which were also served later with the meat. Really very successful and delicious. The outdoor area with a beautiful view of the water and rustic benches. The sun protection could be cleaned and a seat cushion for the bench would also have been nice, but that's complaining at a high level. All in all, it was very successful and we will definitely come back and recommend the restaurant.

Went to Simona Essen today on Sunday, August 25th, 2024. As always, it was very tasty and good. We will be guests at Simona's again in the future. We feel at home. Kind regards from the Gerke family

Good food, recommended, even if, for once, the kitchen overlooked a special request this time. Nice atmosphere, located right on the water, with the option of sitting outside when the weather is nice (the sun protection can be cleaned). Prices moderate, we would like to come back.

Are very satisfied. Would love to come back. Food is delicious, prices are right. What more do you want. When the weather is nice you can sit comfortably outside by the canal.

Were there today to eat asparagus and it was perfect. Soup before the meal, then lots of asparagus, 3 types of fish, potatoes, croquettes, pork medallion, schnitzel, mushrooms, dill sauce, hollandaise, ham and finally a dessert all for an unbeatable price it really was great and we would love to come back Thanks

We liked it very much. The service is really very friendly and very nice. The ambience is very nicely designed. The food was good, but the chef was probably in love because it was very salty. But you couldn't eat it well. The salad bar was great. A nice selection of salads.

We were there to eat asparagus. The food was good, but the atmosphere was quite strange.. When we ordered pork meat there was already a lot of talk about it, but when we got it we were told that we actually had to pay extra for it, even though we had a buffet. All in all we won't be coming back.

Actually a nice location and invites you to stop off. However, the restaurant doesn't make a good impression. Long cobwebs hanging from a beam may be considered normal by some in rural areas. Things like that bother me when I'm eating. I don't want to know what it looks like in the kitchen. Salad that has been marinated in vinegar. May be a specialty here. I couldn't eat it. Over-seasoned curry sauce thickened with flour for the fish and warmed grilled meat from the day before round off the disappointing visit. Even the friendly service can't make things better.

Spargel matschig, schmeckt nicht nach frischem Spargel. Fertig Soße, Kartoffeln aus dem Glas. Null gewürzt! Dafür teuer. Gutes Essen geht anders.

Unfortunately the food was very bad. The beans were burnt, the meat was dry and even sour. Fried potatoes were burnt and soft at the same time. You have to do that first. One finished product next to the next. When you think of a captain’s dinner, you imagine something different. The atmosphere is nice and the owner tries hard. However, that doesn't make up for the bad food. A pity!

Very pretty and idyllic restaurant on the Sagter Ems. The food was very tasty and well prepared and moderately priced. Our waiter (Lukas) was very attentive, in a good mood and with a quick, cheerful saying on his lips. We had a beautiful table with a great view and were also treated to a fantastic, colorful sunset that evening. Great restaurant, we liked it and we'll be back!

I've never eaten so badly. The vegetables were burnt and dry (Tk. - vegetables) The various types of meat were also burnt and totally over-salted. The fried potatoes were swimming in fat. The fish was dry and also over-seasoned. The sauces were most likely ready-made. All in all put 6.

Food very tasty, service very friendly

Me and my friends were cycling and happened to pass by the restaurant and were not disappointed at all. The shop was full and the nice young waiter was alone, it's clear that you should take a little time with you, but he was still very accommodating and nice! The food was very tasty, I had the ribs and was pleasantly surprised that they weren't drowned in barbecue sauce but in a delicious sweet and sour marinade, which I really liked! Tasted good. All in all, we would be happy to come back on our next tour

The restaurant isn't even worth one star. Been there 6 years ago and you were basically thrown out. The only plus point was that the food was okay back then. Now I've been there again and everything has gotten even worse. The food was oversalted and burnt, the owner is still as cheeky as ever and the waiters are also very generous. Where this store gets its good reviews from is a mystery to me. This is probably because many customers are cyclists and tourists, because if you talk to the locals you will always agree. It's actually a shame, because there was only good things to hear about the name "Schrapper".

Today we ate at the Simona restaurant. The staff was very nice and the food was delicious. Price-performance ratio is great! We'd love to come back :)

Das war im allgemeinen in Ordnung nur leider gab es zu wenig und einige Gerichte waren sofort nicht mehr verfügbar. Das Wild war leider zu trocken und die Bedienung wirkte unmotiviert.

Beim 1. Besuch waren wir vor allem vom Essen sehr angetan, beim 2. Besuch leider sehr enttäuscht. Wir werden kein 3. Mal hinfahren...

Mincarea gustoasa, atmosfera restaurantului foarte plăcută iar personalul foarte amabil. Cu următoarea ocazie, am reveni cu plăcere.

Man wird satt und wird höflich bedient

Die Qualität des Essens war sehr gut, leider hatten wir das Pech, dass unsere gemischten Fleischplatten etwas zu kalt serviert wurden und die Beilagen etwas stark gesalzen waren. Service ansonsten top, ich denke bei unserem Menü hatten wir einfach etwas Pech.

Wir waren im Urlaub dort essen ,weil eine andere Gaststätte zu hatte . Und ich muss sagen , welch ein Glück dass wir euch gefunden haben . Das Essen hat super lecker geschmeckt , das Fleisch ist perfekt gebraten , man merkt , dass sich in der Küche viel Mühe gegeben wird . Das Personal ist offen und freundlich , geht auf alle Änderungswünsche ein und man fühlt sich als Gast gut aufgehoben. Wir sind sehr froh, bei euch gewesen zu sein und können das essen nur empfehlen.

Nettes Lokal, nette Bedienung und leckeres Buffetessen am Sonntag. Im Sommer schöne Sitzgelegenheiten am Hafen. Empfehlenswert

Sehr angenehm überrascht. Super nettes Personal und es hat uns gut geschmeckt. Hervorzuheben das wirklich tolle Salatbüffet! Auch unser Hund durfte mit, allerdings nur im Nebenraum, aber immerhin. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Tip Top. Per Zufall dort gelandet. Waren zu 8. incl einem Pärchen mit eigenem Restaurant. Koch aus Leidenschaft . Beide waren ebenfalls voll begeistert. Personal lebt den Umgang mit Gästen!! So sind wir am Folgetag gleich wieder hin!! Wir kommen bei nächster Gelegenheit natürlich wieder! Vielen lieben Dank und schöne Grüße vom Niederrhein!

Wir hatten das Kapiten Dinner es was sehr lecker aber leider etwas zuviel,wir konten den Rest aber mitnehmen.Bedienung sehr freundlich.Ein toller Abend Bekannte die wir mit dabei hatten würden auch wieder hingehen.😊👍

Essen war sehr gut, leider lässt die Freundlichkeit von Mal zu Mal nach. Heute haben wir uns überhaupt nicht wohlgefühlt, kein freundliches Wort. Eine reine Abfertigung unerwünschter Gäste. Schade.

Positiv: Wer gutes und leckeres Essen, einen selbst zusammengestellten Salatteller und eine hilfsbereite, nette Bedienung sucht ist bei Simona genau richtig. Im Sommer kann man außerdem angenehm am Kanal sitzen und der Natur zuschauen. Negativ: Hier fällt mir nichts ein!

Essen bodenständig und preislich angemessen. Nette und zügige Bedienung, sehr schön gelegen, kann ich nur empfehlen.

Das Buffet war super und reichhaltig. Die Salatbar war ebenfalls reich und bunt gefüllt.

Wir waren als Familie zu 6 Personen dort. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und wir bekamen einen großen Tisch zugewiesen. Freitags gibt es ein besonderes Fischangebot. Es gibt eine kleine Kinderkarte. Das bestellte Essen kam zügig und war für den Preis gut und reichlich. Die Atmosphäre war schöm und auch die sanitären Anlagen waren sauber und ordentlich. Falls wir mal wieder in der Nähe sind schauen wir wieder rein. Ivh kann das Restaurant weiterempfehlen.

Leckeres Essen, angenehme Atmosphäre,tolle Angebote. Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Besonders in der Spargel Saison sehr zu empfehlen.
