Restaurant SIGMA in Ludwigshafen am Rhein

I've already reviewed it once. The food was very good, as always. The staff is always very friendly, too.

The pork in the Sovlaki was raw. They took it back to the kitchen and cooked it a bit longer. When it was cooked my wife had finished her meal… when it was time to pay it was full price and they only accepted German debit cards.. we have a sign on the front door that informs about that , they said..the meal cost 43 euros and we only had 35 euros in bills, they didn’t accept coins…finally after asking the manager we gave them the 35 euros ..but then we couldn’t get a receipt…it was raining heavily and it was dark outside so maybe that’s why we missed the sign on the door….took a photo on our way out…

We were still served even though we arrived shortly before the kitchen closed. The waiters were very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance was lovely, and the food was absolutely delicious! I'll be back.

Very tasty Greek food with friendly service

A great discovery in Ludwigshafen's city center. We sat outside in August. We received a very friendly welcome and service. The menu offers many Greek classics, but also a few more unique dishes that you don't see very often. We enjoyed the food very much; the meat was tender and well-seasoned. The stuffed grape leaves were homemade, as was the tzatziki. Fair value for money. A definite recommendation!

Food was great and delicious. Portion was great for the price as well. 10/10 would come back again. For the reviews out there stating that they couldn't get a reservation or a place due to their number or because of the amount of kids that they have... Well I don't know what you guys are talking about as we were able to get a reservation for 10 people on lunch time (3 of those being children) Only problem I can see for other people is the toilet being inaccessible for people with disabilities as it's upstairs (Who knows, but there might be one if you ask the staffs)

We wanted to eat here with three children (5, 8, 11), and although there were tables available (not reserved), we were told that unfortunately there were no seats available. Even when we inquired, we were told that there wouldn't be any available in the foreseeable future. It was probably because we wanted to eat with three children...

We've eaten here a few times and were impressed by the quality. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in getting an appointment for 14 days later with nine people at 5:30 p.m. because my mother is very ill and can't sit down that long. The manager was very unfriendly; okay, we would have liked to have had a main course plus dessert. For nine people, it would probably be a hefty sum. But our request was ignored, and who cares, I would have busted my ass for that kind of money. But they told us it doesn't open until 7:30 p.m. It's a shame, but we'll take our money elsewhere now. Thank you for the unkind words.

Last weekend we were once again guests at the SIGMA in Ludwigshafen – and, as with previous visits, we were not disappointed. The ambiance is pleasant and inviting. Particularly noteworthy is the attentive and always friendly service, which makes the stay a pleasant one. You feel welcome and well looked after. A real highlight this time were once again the appetizers, which impressed us across the board. There were a few minor drawbacks with the main courses: the meat could have used a bit more seasoning. Nevertheless, the quality was very good, and this small disappointment did not significantly detract from the positive overall impression. Overall, we definitely recommend the SIGMA.

We reserved a table for four people there yesterday. We came with our dog. I was immediately impressed by the style and decor—a Greek restaurant with a difference. Could it have been the dog? At first, the lady who served us was a bit snappy and told us not to feed the dog or throw food on the floor. If he wanted water, she could leave a water bowl outside the door... The food, the most important thing!!! I had a starter and a main course that came from the evening's special, not the menu. Everyone had something different. What can I say, it was well-seasoned, simply great, everyone loved it. Later, the lady who served us became nicer too. Oh, one more thing. We were outside smoking and the waitress came out to tell us the food was ready. In any case, I'm looking forward to our next visit.

Greek food is generally always delicious, but this one was especially delicious. Highly recommended.

Das Sigma liegt zentral in LU. Im Gastraum finden wir einen Tisch mit Ausblick Die Vorspeisen waren sehr gut. Hauptgang geglückt Die Speisekarte ist mehr als übersichtlich für Vegetarier Leider lässt der Service sehr zu wünschen übrig - unfreundlich und unverschämt Beleidigend und abkanzelnd Einfach NO GO ! Leider nie wieder

I love the food here, can only recommend it, the staff are all very friendly.

Very cozy and attractively furnished restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and served quickly. In addition to the typical menu with Greek dishes, there are some daily recommendations. We enjoyed it. The home-baked bread that was served with the salad was very crispy and tasty. Attention whiskey lovers: there is a large selection of good wines in the showcase. We'll be back.

Ordered salmon and green pasta twice. Everything was totally over salted. 1 time grilled meat skewer: it was cooked like soup meat.. Complaint to the chef: he says they have to go somewhere else...we do that too. We paid €78 for this.

A very nicely decorated restaurant where you feel comfortable because of the friendly and attentive service staff. The starters and main courses tasted excellent and were also beautifully presented. Unfortunately we were too full to try the desserts. We'll plan on that for our next visit.

The service is excellent. Everyone is very friendly, quick and accommodating. The space is beautiful. The food we tried was satisfactory - the meat was juicy, flavorful, the portions were a reasonable size and the prices are affordable. All in all, I'm pretty happy.

First of all, the staff is super nice and accommodating. All starters, salads, all main courses (there were 14 of us) were super delicious! All platters and skewers were excellent and grilled to perfection!! We have been to many Greek restaurants and this one is 100% recommended!!🙌🫶

Great Greek restaurant with good atmosphere and delicious food. The dishes are fresh, authentic and taste excellent. I was particularly impressed by the friendly service, which made the stay even more pleasant. The prices are perfectly reasonable and offer good value for money. I would definitely like to come back!

Super delicious food. Starter of sheep's cheese in puff pastry and honey. Very tasty, not overly seasoned, cheap sheep's cheese. Very pleasant in taste. The combination with the honey and the sesame. Awesome. Bifteki the madness. The quality of the meat at its best. The tzatziki was also wonderful. The fries OK. Normal thicker fries. The liquid chocolate cake is a dream. The rest of the 7 people who were there were also super happy and found it very, very tasty. Staff super friendly and quick. Price performance more than suitable.

Since I wanted to go to Greece, I decided on the Sigma. The weather was nice, so we stayed outside (it would certainly have been more authentic and comfortable inside, but Ludwigshafen is not Greece 😁). The service was very friendly, but also tried hard. The food was delivered quite quickly and was very plentiful (house plates and bifteki), preceded by salad which looked really fresh. Be careful, the fries are super hot! 😉 Finally, ouzo on the house 👍 Overall we were very satisfied.

If you come from Mannheim from the other end, then it really says it all. For me, by FAR the best Greek in decades. It's also always a mystery to me why the service is described as unfriendly. I have never had this experience before, nor have I ever noticed that no matter who served me, they were unfriendly. Between a healthy friendliness and some guests (if it is unjustified) on the A…. licking makes a big difference. At least that's my opinion

The prices here are OK. The food is very good and the staff are very friendly. I'm extremely satisfied here. HOWEVER: if you have restricted mobility (e.g. wheelchair), you should find out beforehand whether there are toilets on the ground floor. I only know the toilets on the first floor. July 20th, 2024 was here again today, everything was great as always...

We went to this restaurant spontaneously at lunchtime. Based on the waitress's reaction, I assume that it is advisable to make a reservation, at least for the evening. The restaurant is cozy and you feel comfortable. For dinner I had a pork skewer, two small minced meat rolls, steakhouse fries, a little zatziki and a side salad. I have rarely eaten such good meat from a Greek restaurant, the skewer was exactly right, very juicy, although almost cooked through (I don't even like meat pink). The mixed salad was very fresh and had a great dressing. The fries were also delicious, only the tzatziki was a bit too little for me. My companion had the lunch menu, grilled chicken breast in curry cream sauce with fries and salad. She was also very satisfied. The only drawback: Unfortunately, gyros dishes are only available from 5:30 p.m. and only on certain days. Nevertheless: highly recommended!

For years we have been coming to the restaurant with a small group after visiting the theater in the Pfalzbau and are always impressed by the quality of the food and the service.

We, a group of 9 people, had an extremely disappointing experience at the Sigma restaurant in Ludwigshafen yesterday (12/29/23). Despite our 7pm reservation and an unavoidable 15 minute delay, we were met with a remarkably unfriendly attitude. The waitress, an older lady with glasses, made it clear to us that our delay was not welcome. What was even more disturbing was that after half an hour we still hadn't been served. When we politely asked to place our order, we were met with an angry reaction. We were told that we would have to wait until 8:00 p.m. as other guests now had priority. The situation escalated further when the waitress came to our table. Instead of trying to find a solution, she started an inappropriate discussion that was more reminiscent of childish behavior. Your response to our constructive criticism was unprofessional and disappointing. Ultimately we decided to leave the restaurant as the atmosphere and service were far below our expectations. It's unfortunate that a restaurant of this size cannot adequately deal with a small delay. We hope that the owner uses this criticism as an opportunity to improve rather than becoming defensive. We will avoid this restaurant in the future and unfortunately cannot recommend it.
