Das Essen war hier sehr lecker! Wir hatten das Meerrettich Cordonbleu, Schützenhaus Spezial Salat und den Zwiebelrostbraten. Es war alles super frisch und super lecker! Der Rostbraten sehr zart und qualitativ alles sehr hochwertig!! Der Service einfach 1A sehr freundlich und total zuvorkommend Wir kommen gerne wieder, wenn wir mal wieder in der Gegend sind

Wir waren mit zwei Familien im Schützenhaus essen. Das Essen war extrem lecker. Den Kindern sowohl auch den Erwachsenen, hat es sehr geschmeckt. Preis Leistung ist definitiv ok. Der Wirt war super freundlich und sehr bemüht. Ich habe dort den besten Zwiebelrostbraten in meinem Leben gegessen. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder.

Wir waren gestern Abend im Schützenhaus zum Abendessen und waren rundum begeistert. Die Schnitzel waren super lecker: knusprig, saftig und geschmacklich einfach top. Auch der Zwiebelrostbraten war hervorragend. Die Gastgeber waren ausgesprochen freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Besonders angenehm fanden wir den herzlichen und verständnisvollen Umgang mit Familien und kleinen Kindern. Man fühlt sich hier wirklich willkommen und gut aufgehoben. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Wir haben hier mit unserer Familie und Freunden gegessen. Obwohl wir die Ersten bei der Öffnung waren, war die Kellnerin bereits überfordert, und der Besitzer ist sehr unhöflich – als würde man ihm etwas schulden. Er hat uns sehr schlecht behandelt. Wir waren im Urlaub, und das hat bei uns einen bitteren Nachgeschmack hinterlassen. Am besten meiden!

Sehr schlechte Erfahrung! Die Besitzer sind unhöflich und behandeln einen so, als würden sie einem etwas umsonst geben. Nachdem wir fast 200 € für das Abendessen ausgegeben haben, bekamen wir gefrorene Kartoffeln, schlechtes Schnitzel und nur lauwarmes Bier. Ich kann dieses Lokal wirklich niemandem empfehlen! Ich bin froh hier gelandet zu sein auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant. Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Hirschkalbsbraten und gebackener Zander hat alles gut geschmeckt und die Portionen sind groß. Personal freundlich.

Musste leider miterleben das der chef klein kinder mit polizei bedroht obwohl sie nichts schlimmes gemacht haben. Der Chef hat auch ein Rucksack von einen der Kinder wortwörtlich weggeworfen so dass die Thermoflasche kaputt wurde und ersetzt werden musste. Auch beschuldigte er Kinder die gerade dazugekommen sind das sie sein Schild umschmießen obwohl es er selber war. Er konnte auch nicht normal mit den Kindern reden sondern er schrie sie an. Das war das letzte mal das ich dort essen werde. Von den Essen will ich nicht erst darüba reden, es war zum kotzen

Als Stadt Viechtach möchten wir heute bewusst ein positives Zeichen setzen. Das Schützenhaus am Bike-Park ist seit vielen Jahren ein wichtiger Teil unserer örtlichen Gemeinschaft. Viele Gäste – Einheimische wie Besucher – schätzen die freundliche Atmosphäre, das Engagement der Wirtsfamilie und die gute Bewirtung nach einem aktiven Tag in unserer schönen Region. Sind zum essen gegangen, mussten dann leider miterleben wie der "Chef" die Kinder vom Bikepark (teilweise 10 Jahre alt) fast schon angeschrien hat. Außerdem wurde dabei mit Polizei gedroht bloß weil die Kinder auf seinem Parkplatz waren. Das war das letzte mal das ich dort essen gehe ich lass mir kein essen von Kinderschändern serviern. Außerdem war das essen sehr wenig ich wollte schon fast das gleiche nochmal bestellen eir sind aber dann einfach ins nächste Wirtshaus.

Wollte dort mit Freunden essen gehen und waren mit dem Fahrrad da wir von unserer Radtour kommen und wollten sie abstellen dann kam der Chef raus und hat uns Förmlich angeschrien da wir Fahrradfahrer waren und nicht bei im am Parkplatz sein dürften und dann schrie er Kinder an die nur an seinen Parkplatz mid ihren Räder vorbei gefahren waren um zum Bikepark wollten und von solchen Menschen will ich persönlich kein Essen essen außerdem wurde es kalt serviert und viel zu wenig darauf hin gingen wir zum nächsten Wirtzhaus. Also der alte Besitzer war wesentlich Besser

Wollte dort essen gehen und habe gefragt wie viel das schnitzel+Cola kostet wurde dann aber ignoriert, super service!

Sehr leckeres Essen, auch an die Vegetarier/Veganer ist gedacht (es gibt leckere Käsespätzle und selbstgemachte Falafel). Leider nur EC Karten Zahlung (nur Girocard, keine Visa/Mastercard), was nur schwer ersichtlich ist (Aufkleber an der Tür). Ich denke, dass das so der einzige Punkt ist, an dem man optimieren kann, da nicht jeder in Zeiten von Neobanken eine Girocard hat sondern „nur“ eine Debit/Kreditkarte. Ansonsten waren wir überaus zufrieden.

Unseren großen Dank für euer Engagement bei unserer kleinen Beerdigungsfeier. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Euer Timing war großartig. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt vollkommen überein.

The menu for Christmas Day was very limited! The schnitzel was good. The venison was bland...the roast beef with onions was indescribable, especially the fried potatoes, which left much to be desired. A shame for my guests, I had expected something different. The service was perfectly fine. We won't be coming back...unfortunately.

I've eaten at the Schützenhaus several times now and have always been very satisfied. The food is good, traditional Bavarian cuisine, and yet there are also nice alternatives for me as a non-meat eater. The service has always been very friendly and attentive. I'll gladly come again. We had a delicious meal here today. Everything was freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. They were the best falafel I've ever eaten. The service was also very attentive. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely come back.

A disaster in every respect. This was by far the worst meal we had during our vacation in Viechtach. Truly not recommended. But otherwise, Viechtach has only good restaurants in every price range. The spaetzle were soggy (overcooked), the sauces were watery, and the potatoes weren't cooked properly. But when a new tenant boasts about his predecessor's reviews, that says it all.

A top recommendation in Viechtach! Traditional home cooking meets oriental specialties. Everything is freshly prepared and served by the chef. Great for families, with a lovely garden for the kids. Excellent value for money and friendly service. We'd love to come back!

A terrible experience. This is anything but Bavarian cuisine! The food was lackluster, at best, snack-quality. Please note: the owner changed at the end of 2024. Now it's a disaster. Don't go!

Absolutely terrible food!!! The owner changed in October, and since then, the German food has been anything but good. Completely overpriced, and the German language skills are poor. (It's a problem when ordering by phone.) I wouldn't order food there again.

Trying hard, but... Apparently, it's only on Tuesdays that it's so busy that if you don't have a reservation, you have to wait an hour for your food. This could perhaps be counteracted with one or two additional kitchen and service assistants. From the beer garden, you could "admire" the broken blinds on the kitchen windows, and there were unironed tablecloths on the tables in the garden. After waiting for my Kässpatzen (cheese spaetzle) for almost an hour, I was actually about to leave. I didn't even have cutlery or salad at my table. As a single person, I was completely ignored after ordering. When I wanted to pay and leave before I had my food, things suddenly moved quickly... I think the Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) had been ready for a long time, as they were quite brown and dry on top, and you had to hunt for the cheese and especially the onions – and, all for a mere €14.90 – I'd say I've had much better cheaper options. Okay, the manager apologized and was friendly, but the waitress was completely overwhelmed, so she didn't have a friendly word to say. The price for a Russian half-liter (Russian half-liter) is reasonable at €3.70, but charging €2.90 for a small water is excessive! In my opinion, you're better off with the oriental dishes, as the entire staff seems to have more expertise in them than with Bavarian dishes. Oriental House instead of Schützenhaus!

We were on vacation in St. Englmar and found Schützenhaus online. I have to say the food was incredibly delicious, very tasty, and the portions were huge. I highly recommend it. The service was also very friendly and accommodating.

A very nice restaurant, the outdoor seating area is very cozy. The owner is very attentive, friendly, and accommodating! There's a separate menu for vegetarian/vegan dishes. There were six of us there, and everyone enjoyed the food. The quality of the food is excellent.

I don't even know what to write. Apparently, a lot of things fell by the wayside with the change of tenant. If I understand correctly, they adopted the old menu and tried to continue it, which isn't entirely successful. The owner, who apparently also sets the terms, suggested the Oriental Falafel if we wanted vegetarian food. Since we're from the north, we wanted to enjoy Bavarian cuisine. My partner had the cheese spaetzle and I had the pile pan. The cheese spaetzle was good to very good, my pan, sorry, but it really wasn't anything. Three thumbs long and wide pieces of meat, little finger thick, topped with cheese, a portion of spaetzle, which were okay, the sauce a bit watery. €25, phew, I really had to bite my tongue. I should have said something when paying at the restaurant, but I was so angry that I would have been rude. Plus, the owner's little daughter was celebrating her birthday there, so I didn't want to make a fuss. The conditions/owner were generally very friendly, but Viechtach probably doesn't have it easy with the restaurant. He should focus more on oriental cuisine; Bavarian cuisine isn't his forte.

Josef is a very good host. We both had the falafel plate. It was very good. Everything is homemade, and you can tell. People, definitely stop by and try something from the oriental menu. People like him deserve to make it a success.

As a chef, I know how the costs of everything have risen and continue to rise. The food wasn't bad, but for those prices, you'd expect a larger portion. Especially in Bavarian cuisine, they like to serve full plates, not children's plates. They should also hire someone to serve, because it gets too much to handle alone in the long run.

The food was okay. However, the service was questionable. Only one person was available for the dining room and bowling alley, where a larger group was eating. In some cases, the wait was two hours for the food. This is completely unacceptable.

The food was tasty although it was served quickly. But the big disappointment came when the bill arrived. Since we are on vacation we don't have any cash on us. This is outdated. No bank contact and no payconic. We had to go and find an ATM somewhere while our son stayed there. I can still assume no bank contact but NO payconic while this is simply available on the bank app. Yesterday I experienced the same thing at a pizza restaurant in the same municipality. I think that in Germany there is still a lot of black payment. It would have been polite at least if the customer had been informed from the start that there was only the option of paying in cash. Here in Belgium people no longer carry cash, even the ATMs have disappeared and have only been replaced by a cash point and then not in every municipality. This cash payment is outdated but I repeat that customers must be informed before the service

All in all, very good, a little insider tip. The food is more than adequate, the service is more than friendly, and the price is more than reasonable.

We happened upon the Schützenhaus by chance with a group of 6 people, and we were all thrilled! The food was amazing, absolutely reasonable in price, and very quick considering the number of staff and guests. Our youngest at the table (presumably with the owner's daughter) explored the adjacent playground, making it an entertaining evening for the little one as well. In short: The food was fantastic, the prices were reasonable, and we'll be back next time we're in the area :)

Answer: I'm not concerned about the discount (!), but rather that I relied on my experience and the reviews. I also lost time because I drove all the way to Viechtach and was looking forward to a special dish (I don't look at the price). Delete all reviews that refer to the previous tenant, then it's fair for everyone who informs themselves about it. And yes, I'm a bit more critical and don't give favor stars if something isn't quite right. I've described the situation. You can also see that I've given everything from 1 to 5 stars in the past. I wrote my thoughts on the matter and, for example, am of the opinion that Syrian dishes would be a real enrichment. But it's up to you to decide how you take criticism and my opinion. Review Based on my previous very good experience (see below), we went there again after a day of hiking. Only after we ordered drinks did we realize from the menu that the owner had changed. The menu was no longer what it was back then. Instead of ox cheeks in red wine sauce, we now had schnitzel with fries. Out of politeness, we ordered something and ate it, as we were very hungry. The waiter himself was also very polite. But the food was a huge disappointment. Basically, snack-quality food for a lot of money. What I don't understand is why the old reviews aren't deleted when the owner has a new owner. I also have a suggestion: I don't know exactly which country the owner is from, but I'm sure his home country has excellent cuisine. Why do they lack the courage to offer something like that? Or does nobody in the Bavarian Forest really want that? Every snack bar has currywurst and schnitzel. I don't think it will last long with these prices and the usual mass-market offerings, and I feel sorry for the young family who are clearly making an effort. Previous review: The ox cheek with red wine sauce was a dream, both visually and culinarily. The outstanding value for money for this quality is also remarkable. The service was also top-notch. Polite, attentive, and welcoming. I'll keep this place in mind for future hikes in the region. It's rare to find something this good among the mass-market restaurants, which unfortunately are also plentiful in the Bavarian Forest.

We spontaneously dropped by on a holiday and managed to get a table in the beer garden. The waitress said it would take a little longer today, but we didn't let that deter us. After about 35 minutes, our food was on the table. The cheese spaetzle and schnitzel were very good. The value for money here is truly excellent! Friendly waitresses, lovely little beer garden.

We (two adults, one child) wandered into the Schützenhaus for dinner yesterday, quite by chance and spontaneously. And it was a good thing! We all enjoyed the food, the portion sizes were perfect, and we were all full. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stop by for dinner. I hope the local community supports the restaurant with more visitors in the future. It's definitely worth it!

No more...change of ownership...efforts are being made...my sausage salad had moldy onions on it, the marinade had absolutely nothing to do with sausage salad...the vinegar pickle was tasteless...the bread was a slice of grain bread from a supermarket sliced ​​bread and ice cold...after pointing this out, there was no reaction from the kitchen...a pity
