I went to the Schnitzelhaus in Rotenburg (Wümme) and I'm absolutely thrilled! The food was simply perfect – I've rarely eaten so well. The portion was more than generous, but not uncomfortably heavy. Just right! Every penny was definitely well spent. The service was also outstanding: Questions were answered immediately, everything was quick, friendly, and completely professional. When it came time to pay, the owner was in a great mood, really friendly – ​​I was happy to give him a tip. A clear recommendation from me. I'll definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The restaurant impresses with fresh, regional produce and a cuisine that makes every dish feel perfectly balanced. I particularly enjoy the schnitzel, which can be ordered with your own filling or a suitable topping. So far, every choice has been excellent, and the menu offers many appealing options. After your meal, I recommend a fruit brandy. The desserts are a delightful way to round off your visit. The interior is tastefully decorated, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. A place you'll gladly return to.

I've rarely eaten such a delicious schnitzel in such a fantastic setting. The kitchen accommodated all my requests without any problems.

If you appreciate a pleasant atmosphere and excellent food, this is the place for you. The waiter is clearly enthusiastic, cheerful, and has an infectious sense of humor. The dishes are well-balanced and perfect for a moderate appetite. XXL portions are also available. In short: Make a reservation, try it out, and see for yourself.

A minor point deduction for not being able to choose your own seat, even though the place was still empty. I don't like it when all the guests are seated in one corner of the restaurant just to reduce the walking distances; the tables were too close together for that. It's not for everyone.

Super delicious food and very friendly service

The highly praised schnitzels are more a matter of taste! The meat is encased in a thick layer of breading, which has evidently been painstakingly pounded into an ultra-flat, yet plate-sized flatbread. Side dishes must be ordered separately. So, schnitzel, depending on the size, + a side of sauce (available in several varieties), + a side of potatoes (available in several varieties), + a drink. The prices are, in my opinion, overpriced, and I don't understand why they're worth it. All in all, not really to our satisfaction. However, if you like breading with a meaty flavor, this is the place for you. On the positive side, the staff is very professional and friendly, and the restaurant is very cozy and inviting.

The food was really delicious, but I think the price-performance ratio is really abysmal! The schnitzels are really great, but charging €6.90 for a schnitzel sauce is a bit of a stretch. Charging €10.90 for a dessert consisting of a small ice cream and a topping (cookie sprinkles) is also very overpriced and unjustified in my opinion. Overall, the food was good, but the prices aren't right for me. The atmosphere is really nice!

Very friendly service. The schnitzels are wonderfully tender and homemade. The best schnitzel I've ever had. You can have the schnitzels made to your liking, with breading, sauce, and filling. Plenty of choices. The side dishes, we had rosti rounds, were also homemade and very tasty. Highly recommended. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old German half-timbered house.

Not good value for money 🤷‍♀️ I'm incredibly sorry to write a less-than-great review, as the service was very friendly, accommodating, and polite. Unfortunately, I would have expected a bit more from my Wiener Schnitzel (especially for the price of €29.90). The breading was peeling off the meat, which, according to some top chefs like Lafer, Lichter, Raue, and Rach, shouldn't happen. It puffed up, which is perfectly fine, but it doesn't fall off when cutting the meat. The meat had several "holes," which were probably caused by the flattening process, but this isn't the norm (standard). Furthermore, every sauce had to be paid for separately; unfortunately, the truffle sauce tasted more like a cream sauce, far from the truffle flavor. Otherwise, we had a pleasant and relaxed sitting there, but we won't be visiting the Schnitzelhus again.

Very tasty, very friendly service, and beautifully presented food! We had schnitzel with various sauces and a superbly cooked sirloin steak. The dessert was also wonderful, both visually and tastefully.

I was really pleasantly surprised (I've heard a lot about it...). The food was truly delicious. I was a bit cramped at the table where you walk up to it, but surrounded by great bottles of liquor and spirits, which more than made up for it. Very cozy. I'm having a bit of a hard time now, as the atmosphere was nice and the friendly service was absolutely top-notch. I ordered because I wanted a really good schnitzel. I don't think I've ever eaten a really good schnitzel, so my expectations were very high. A beef schnitzel for €29.90 is a lot. It was a fairly large schnitzel, but it was completely riddled with holes. When I cut into it, I noticed that the meat was wafer-thin; there was no meaty taste. I researched how thick the meat portion of a schnitzel should be so that the breading would smother properly. A good schnitzel should be about 4mm, just meat thickness. No one had a measuring stick with them, but they did have money. The 50 cent, 1, and 2 euro coins are a little over 2mm thick, so you can check for yourself since I didn't take any photos. If you want to spend a lot of money on little meat, this is the place for you, as you have to pay extra for everything. I had a bill of €86.50 for two people, and we left without feeling full. Otherwise, everything was fine and stylish, but you'll have to be full for the bill. The owner contacted me personally and explained that he really cares about how he's perceived and offered me a choice of how thick I'd like my schnitzel. Since I didn't leave this review anonymously, I stand by what I post. Since I had a reservation, he was able to contact me, which is absolutely fine with me. A restaurateur like you'd only wish for. Ask about it; he uses meat from the Schneverdingen region. As I said, I've never eaten a real Wiener Schnitzel. The restaurateur strives to satisfy you. But if something isn't right for you, speak up. Try it out and see for yourself. It's not cheap; the question is always what quality of life is worth to you.

The food, service, and atmosphere are impeccable. We found the price a bit high. Even a good schnitzel is still a schnitzel. Despite the higher price, we were tempted by the menu and ordered a schnitzel filled with ham and cheese. Definitely worth it. Take a little more time (we didn't have enough) and enjoy the service and the food.

A bit overwhelmed by the many options, but thanks to good advice, we had a super delicious schnitzel. You can customize your schnitzel with any breading, filling, sauce, and even toppings; it's absolutely delicious.

Very tasty food, friendly service, and a great selection. There were basically four types of schnitzel, which could be combined as desired. Pork, Wiener Schnitzel, turkey, and vegetarian. Three standard side dishes: hash browns, fries, and lukewarm potato salad (delicious!) with the house's own breading. You could also have ingredients incorporated into the breading, with many different sauces, fillings, and toppings for the "regular" and XXL schnitzel. We had Wiener Schnitzel with hash browns and feta cheese, and turkey schnitzel with garlic and Gouda cheese. Both tasted simply amazing. The breading was crispy and held up well, and the meat was tender and juicy. The hash browns were crispy, and the potato salad was well-seasoned. The service was consistently attentive and friendly.

A very nicely designed restaurant on a tributary of the Wümme River. Seating inside and outside, a bit too close together. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty. The service and the chef were very attentive and well-trained. What was annoying were the cyclists who rode directly behind the seats there, despite the ban, and the fact that smoking was allowed outside, even though other guests right next door were still eating and were also non-smokers! The prices, however, are very similar to those in the higher segment. I see this as a disadvantage in terms of value for money!

I've heard so many good things about Schnitzelhus, so my fiancé and I had to try it out. You do have to study the menu a bit, but what can I say? We specifically ordered two different schnitzels, as well as side dishes and sauces. A true gem with heart and flavor! We always enjoy visiting the Schnitzelhaus. The owner is extremely friendly and makes you feel immediately welcome. The food is simply delicious – freshly prepared and made with lots of love. This restaurant is especially ideal for families: very child-friendly, with a relaxed atmosphere where even the little ones feel at home. A special highlight is the beautiful beer garden – a truly relaxing place, especially on warm days. We look forward to our visit every time and are happy to have such a great restaurant nearby. We've been there several times and are always impressed. There's a great variety and a huge selection. For a sauce fan like me, it's really hard not to order something of every sauce. We've rarely eaten so well, and the quality is second to none. The owner is super friendly, and you can tell he loves what he does. "A job comes from a calling" is 100% true here. This restaurant should definitely be on your list of must-visit restaurants. We had a delicious schnitzel with fried eggs and fries or hash browns. It was a poem. The plate was empty in no time. I highly recommend the dessert. Mine was a veritable composition of homemade chocolate ice cream with three sauces and a dollop of whipped cream. Luckily, the week isn't over yet, and we'll definitely be back.

First of all, the most important thing. It was the best veal schnitzel I have ever eaten. Great atmosphere, very friendly and sociable service. Of course with the side dish and topping you can quickly get to over €40 but it was worth every cent. Absolute recommendation. If we're in the area again we'll definitely stop by.

You have to like these schnitzels, which consist of little meat and a lot of breading. That's nothing for me. For me, the price-performance ratio is not right at all, especially for the sauces. Then we were there with a small group of 16 people. The food came spread out over about 30 minutes. By the time the last person got their food, everyone else was already finished. Somehow everyone there is trying hard, but unfortunately it's not enough for me. We recently went there for a cabbage dinner. Anyone expecting a traditional North German cabbage meal here will, in my opinion, be totally disappointed in every respect. I can't describe it at all... there was no pee sausage, the cabbage had too much vinegar, the meat was fars. At least far away from what you usually get here in Northern Germany.

However, the meat was estimated to only make up 30% of the schnitzel by weight. We were therefore disappointed.

We were warmly welcomed by the owner. On the menu you could put together all the schnitzel dishes with side dishes and sauces yourself. It was even possible to choose which meat, whether veal, pork or turkey, and you could choose the breading yourself. The schnitzels were excellently fried and seasoned. Even the sauces are only made with fresh ingredients and herbs. The food was a delight for the palate. The price-performance ratio is very good, because quality has its price. It was our first time at the Schnitzelhus in Rotenburg an der Wümme. The schnitzels are delicious but the prices are not. Whether it's sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise, vegetables and the like, you have to dig deep into your pockets to get a full plate. What you can expect from drinks is enormous. The ambience is pleasant. We were there as a group of 14 people. Unfortunately there was no opportunity to sit together and we were split between two tables. That was a real shame. The service was great, people always asked if there was anything else needed, the food came quickly, was hot and beautifully presented. A restaurant for the unusual.

An uncompromisingly good schnitzel house. No matter whether veal, pork or turkey schnitzel with classic or unusual breading. The selection of sauces is particularly noteworthy. Horseradish and thyme sauce were very convincing. The selection of drinks is also impressive. House wheat is Maisel's Weisse - schnapps is available from Prinz. The slightly higher price is also uncompromising, but is reasonable considering the food.

Hello, we were guests at Schizel hus. We knew what we wanted after being informed about the offer online. Starter: Tafelspitz bouillon with meatballs and vegetables. So delicious 😋 Main course: Veal schnitzel with Viennese fried potatoes and Champion cream sauce. Sooo, so delicious 😋 Dessert: Kauserschmarn with raisins and apple compote super delicious 😋 😋. The meal was rounded off with a semi-dry red Burgundy. Our waiter was super attentive without being intrusive. We can only recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to dine in a great atmosphere.

Idyllically located away from the pedestrian zone, you will find this inviting, cozy restaurant serving Austrian cuisine. You immediately feel like you've slowed down, you're warmly welcomed and that continues throughout your entire stay. And then this delicious meal... Three meat options and one vegetarian for the schnitzels, toppings and sauces (14) in different variations - it was difficult to decide. The sauces are also served in a separate bowl so that the delicious breading (8 different types) does not become soggy. We'll be back, reservations are recommended!

The food was perfect...I couldn't decide what to eat, so I made one out of 3 menus and it tasted great. With the pepper sauce, you can taste the pepper. Addendum....at the weekend we celebrated my son's 18th birthday, this time in the Rotenburg....when we made our reservation we immediately stated that we had a small dog with us. I couldn't find any relevant information about it on the website. Since we were there a little earlier, the boss (I assume) came to meet us and said we were allowed in, even though it wasn't open yet. At 40 years old, I have never met such a good-humored and friendly person!!!! We took some time when ordering, that wasn't a problem at all, even the girl was very friendly. Yes, the food is a little expensive, I'm willing to pay that if everything is right. It's definitely true here. The service was great, the food was delicious, the place was nicely decorated and clean.

We are very excited. The food was phenomenal, the service was excellent and the ambience was great too. I followed the boss's personal recommendation and had a coriander chili sauce with my schnitzel. It was a dream!! Thanks again for that :) If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back. We carry the recommendation to visit this restaurant all the way to Hesse. However, we will also mention that good food and service comes at a price ;)

Everything tastes really good and seems like it's really fresh. Only side dishes, desserts and sauces are priced way too high for me. Therefore one star less. We would still like to come back.

On the return trip after our holiday we visited the Schnitzelhus. This is one of the best schnitzels we have eaten in Germany! The prices are on the high side, but it's worth it. In addition, the service is very friendly. We will definitely come back.
