Restaurant Samos in Bad Schwartau

When we entered the restaurant on an early Wednesday evening, we were the only guests—and remained so until just before we left at 6:45 p.m. We had a strange feeling about being alone in the large room with its many tables and chairs for such a long time... The service was friendly, and the menus were brought promptly. They were attractively and clearly laid out, offering the usual repertoire of Greek dishes. I opted for a small non-alcoholic beer for €4.10 and the No. 43 chicken breast fillet with fries or rice, tzatziki, and salad, plus Metaxa or cream sauce for €24.50. I asked for all sauces to be omitted, which they did, but the price wasn't reduced. The meat was tender, the fries crispy, and the tzatziki delicious. The salad consisted of iceberg lettuce, onions, a bell pepper, a bit of dressing, an eighth of a slightly dried-out tomato, and an even drier slice of cucumber. ... A complimentary ouzo is included. All in all, I find the price of €24.50 far too high for this dish.

The buffet is great and the price is reasonable. It's not particularly large, but in my opinion, there's something for everyone. We've never had any complaints about the taste. It should be obvious to everyone that a buffet can't be at the same temperature as a plated meal. The staff is very friendly; we go there quite often.

I was at the Samos Restaurant recently, and I have to say, it was really good! The staff was super friendly, incredibly helpful, and took incredibly good care of us. The food was also really delicious—everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. You felt welcome the whole time, and the atmosphere was simply pleasant. I can only recommend the restaurant and will definitely be back.

We didn't have a buffet, which certainly lives up to its name. Unfortunately, refilling ice cream wasn't going so well, even though the restaurant wasn't full. The ice cream freezer was almost empty of all three flavors (only the bottom was covered). The lady was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant is very dark.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. Apparently, they open and close at will. I was there on August 10, 2025, and even ordered takeout via an app. It was a 25-kilometer drive for nothing, as they decided on the spur of the moment to close on August 10, 2025, and simply wrote this on the sign at the entrance with a permanent marker.

Mittags war ich hier bei glühender Hitze der einzige Gast. Das Lokal ist nett eingerichtet. Der Mittagstisch ist in meinen Augen aber etwas zu teuer. Meine Bestellung mit einem Hacksteak und Gyros war in Ordnung.

We ate at the buffet. It was a good, manageable, delicious buffet, with very friendly staff and regular refills. The atmosphere was cozy and warm, very inviting. We highly recommend it.

We had a buffet today. Small, manageable, good-tasting buffet. It's a bit tight there. I was also a little missing the labeling of what was what. A few little things meant that there weren't a full number of stars, but that's probably a personal matter. We definitely got to know a cheerful boss.

Nice decor, delicious food and good value for money. Also a nice Easter promotion.

I ordered a standard gyro with rice over the phone. When I opened the package, I was initially surprised by the rather small portion. The accompanying salad, in its separate package, was particularly small. For €17.20, I would have expected a much more generous and higher-quality meal. The oversalted gyro was particularly disappointing, which further negatively impacted the overall impression. The rice and tzatziki were okay, but lacked any special flavor. The small portion of salad was tasty, but couldn't save the overall experience. Overall, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

We hadn't made a reservation but still got a table, the dining room was empty.!!! We ordered Bifteki, it's just a shame that this dish wasn't freshly prepared, we were charged €20 for convenience. A mess!!!!! Just too much for snack food. I mentioned it and no one thought it was necessary to seek a clarifying conversation. Never again!! It's a shame that it's getting worse and worse. If you want to eat well, you should cook yourself or cook for yourself Eutin, in "The Cretan"

The place is great for families, very nice owner families. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that the price is a bit excessive for children.

Super nice service staff. Definitely a plus point. The buffet itself is very narrow. Hardly anyone could get to it, the service staff were scurrying around, it wasn't that nice. The selection is manageable. Taste wise it was ok. Solid evening but nothing special.

I ate at the buffet twice, some of the food wasn't so warm and the squid rings were dry, the first day it was full and stressful for the employees, I forgot about the ouzo, the friendliest person was my colleague, probably the boss, always a smile and a kind word. I can recommend the restaurant 👌

We were there on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered 2 Carlsbergs on tap, which unfortunately smelled and tasted sour. We politely complained about the beer. However, they were still on the bill at the end! It's not really bad, we paid...however, afterwards the "typical" ouzo was only available upon request...(which we would have gladly paid for!!)...but probably because of the complaint about the beer, only 1/4 glass of ouzo. Well, the food was very tasty and really plentiful!! But we won't be coming back for a while. Full Carlsberg on the bill and a full glass of ouzo for everyone would have been fine. But like that..?!?🤔 Nope.

Eating from the buffet is a good thing, but some bowls get empty very quickly. If it is very full, it becomes a bit uncomfortable because the restaurant is not that big

We ordered a table months ago and today we were told at the table that there was only buffet food and no menu. The unfriendly waitress then said you had to ask yourself on the phone!!! I see it differently... There was nothing special about the buffet, the duck was just bones and floating in fat, other gyros, fries and croquettes, some vegetables for Christmas, a completely normal buffet... we'll never go here again

The buffet was plentiful and good. There were plenty of starters and main courses, and desserts (ice cream, rice pudding with cherries, yoghurt with honey and caramelized walnuts and cake) were also completely sufficient. Service nice and friendly. We will come again.

We went there for dinner yesterday and had the buffet. We were actually really looking forward to it, but we were totally disappointed. The waitresses seemed unfriendly (as if they didn't want to do their job) - when something fell down, they didn't even say thank you for picking it up and putting it there. In addition, we weren't really listened to because we actually ordered small drinks - large ones were brought to us and charged as normal. The buffet is also not recommended at all! The food just doesn't taste good! In addition, the food was very heavy in the stomach afterwards (a very unpleasant feeling in the stomach). The next day, you sit at home with diarrhea and severe stomach pain...! In short: This was the worst Greek place I've ever been!

Friendly staff, nice and clean atmosphere. Prices are totally reasonable, so not expensive. We always enjoy food. :-) We'd love to come back again and again! :-) There are also various buffets (including breakfast buffet).

Very good Greek buffet. I actually never tried the menu. All you can eat is definitely possible here, but anyone who knows Greek cuisine knows that it won't be that much. I really like the things that are gratinated with sauce and cheese. Gyros is very tasty. The salad bar is great and the Greek coleslaw is to die for. I wanted to make it myself, but it tastes better in a restaurant. We recommend

Wir haben zu viert das Buffet gewählt. Stolzer Preis pro Nase 18,90 € plus natürlich Getränke. Resultat: ist das Geld nicht wert. Alle Speisen kalt oder lediglich auf Raumtemperatur. Viele Speisen nicht identifizierbar. Oder in nicht ansprechenden Pampensaucen. Giros und Pommes laufend vergriffen. Kam man gar nicht ran. Wird zwar nachgefüllt, mehr oder weniger langsam. ist aber sofort wieder weg, weil die Behälter dafür zu klein sind. Ergo: es wird nachgefüllt, einer macht sich den Teller voll - und ALLES IST MAL WIEDER WEG: Geschmack der Speisen ist eher neutral. Man mag an die div. Speisen auch gar nicht so richtig ran, weil sie alle mehr oder weniger unappetitlich aussehen und eben auch nicht wirklich warm sind. Das ganze Buffet sieht eher nach Armenspeisung in einer Bahnhofshalle aus. Ich geh da nicht wieder hin für diesen überkandidelten Preis. Weiterhin ist das Restaurant nicht wirklich gemütlich. Hat auch Bahnhofsatmosphäre. Sehr lautes Ambiente, eher ungemütliches Umfeld. Letzte kritische Frage: warum muss ein Weizenbier alkoholfrei heutzutage sage und schreibe 5,90 € kosten ???? Dafür krieg ich bei Edeka fast eine ganze Kiste voll !!! Weiterhin viel Spaß in dieser Spelunke ! aber ohne mich.

We had dinner there last Sunday for the evening buffet and were completely thrilled. So excited that we are going back with the children today. Everything was just right. The atmosphere was cozy. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. Upon request there was even liver. Mega. There is even a vegetarian area for the daughter. Really great. We are already looking forward to later.

We were there a few weeks ago, a plate for two with wine, that was good. Now again, buffet, unfortunately that wasn't good. All the dishes that should have been hot were at most lukewarm, the plates ditto. The salad selection itself was ok, but why no tomatoes and cucumbers and a simple light salad dressing? The gyro was dry, the gyro was over-salted in sauce, no liver, no skewers, no minced rolls, just chopped mince and a lot of it marinated in sauce, the fries were also dried out. Unfortunately everything wasn't visually appealing. I ate one plate; somehow full afterwards, the second plate didn't taste good anymore. No one came by to reorder drinks after the first order. Two out of three guests had mild stomach problems afterwards, which could have been an intolerance. Conclusion: not again. A pity.

I had dinner there with a few friends on Sunday. The food is super tasty and nicely balanced so there is something for everyone. Everything is recommended. We ordered from the buffet and ordered a bifteki. Nice and juicy and with a secret ingredient. The boss is often at the stove himself. I can say that the atmosphere is very familiar and the staff is very friendly and welcomes you with open amens. My new favorite restaurant!

We'll be back 🤩😋 We were visiting our children. A great idea to eat here, such a delicious buffet, everything fresh, tender and deliciously seasoned. An appetizer buffet, so delicious and varied. Plus such friendly hospitality, a service that I haven't experienced anywhere else for a long time. Thank you very much, we will definitely be back.

We were there today with a toddler and friends. Our child was warmly welcomed, which is worth a lot for parents. The service was very friendly, the food was delicious, fresh and plentiful, and it was always refilled promptly if something was missing. The atmosphere is cozy, but not cramped. My clothes don't smell like food, which is usually the case with Greeks, and the free ouzo was nice and cold. Very reasonably priced these days. We will be back! Thanks!
