Restaurant Römerkastell in Marpingen

We were there in the evening, just before closing time, after our move… We received a super friendly welcome and excellent service. Prices were a bit higher, but justified by the fantastic food. It's been a long time since we've eaten such delicious, truly fresh food ❤️🍀 We'll be back!

A great place away from the hustle and bustle, great food, super service, simply very pleasant.

We celebrated a confirmation there with our family. On behalf of the entire family (12 people), I can only say, top-notch! Everything was perfect. Great service, very good and delicious food (everything cooked to perfection), and the overall atmosphere is inviting. I can and will happily recommend it to everyone. Full marks 👍

We were very satisfied. The soup of the day was very good, the side salad truly generous. The steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and very tender, and the pork fillet was tender pink... perfect. The portion size was more than adequate, and the service was very friendly, uncomplicated, and attentive.

Very good typical German cuisine in a beautiful countryside restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. I've had the best schnitzel in the area. The extra £2 for the brat kartoffeln are well spent as the portion is huge. The starter salad included is also rich and well dressed. Environment is a bit outdated and very beige-brown and it was a bit too noisy.

The service and food were good. I had to sit outside on the balcony with my dog, right next to the smokers. That wasn't good.

In the middle of the week, you wouldn't necessarily expect courteous, excellently organized, friendly, and attentive service, as well as a perfectly functioning restaurant. Well-staffed restaurants are often only found on weekends. We were pleasantly surprised here at the Römerkastell in Urexweiler - Habenichts. There were four of us, had made a reservation, and were absolutely impressed by the quality. We had a die-hard vegetarian at our table as well as some organic meat lovers. We were all absolutely thrilled. From the appetizer to the main course and the drinks, everything was absolutely above board. Attentive, young, but by no means intrusive staff. Everything you would want in a restaurant. Due to the warm summer temperatures, we sat on the terrace in front of the restaurant and were able to enjoy the view of the green hills. We give it 4.7 out of five stars, deducting 0.3 for the slightly dated ambiance.

The team organized an ims for us with over 40 people: It was tastefully decorated, both the cake and the sandwiches were very good in taste and quality. And the service was excellent!

Very tasty food in a rustic atmosphere. There are also a few tables outside. A reservation is also recommended during the week. The prices are rather high, but the portions are also large. The service was very nice and quick.

By far my favorite restaurant in the area. No matter what I've tried so far, it's been great. Both the boss and the staff are super accommodating and warm. As a personal tip, I would like to give everyone the Onion Schmalzbans heart.

The Roman fort took over the catering for our wedding. All guests were very impressed by the delicious food. Everything also worked very well in terms of service. Already at the rehearsal dinner in the Roman fort we realized that we had made the right choice with Mr. Bernick and Mr. Wolf.

The steak (vampire steak with fried onions) was super tasty and lots of it. Can I definitely recommend.

We booked the Römerkastell as a caterer for our wedding and were more than satisfied. The service was great. The meat was outstanding and there was nothing that wasn't tasty. All guests praised the food very much!

Dined in the exemplary adjoining room with 21 people according to a selection menu suggested by the landlord and chef. Antipasti platters, salad, steaks, zander in Riesling sauce, pork loin, schnitzel prepared in various ways, vegetarian schnitzel, vegetarian falafel, ice cream as dessert. All of the guests had a great time and were all impressed by the cuisine, service and ambience. We'll definitely be back! Thanks to everyone for this lovely evening!

We were guests at a birthday party held there. The food was very tasty and hot. The salad dressing was to die for. The service was very courteous and friendly. All in all a very nice and successful day. I can't say anything about the price-performance ratio as we were invited.

Ich war mittlerweile schon mehrere Male dort. Immer wieder ist der Empfang und der Service hervorragend das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis absolut Daumen hoch und auch die Kulanz in Form von Getränken aufs Haus absolute spitze, die Qualität der Speisen und des Tagesmenüs exzellent. Ich kann es nur empfehlen. Weiter so!

Sehr gutes Essen, freundlicher Service. Wenn am Tisch serviert wird erhalten alle zur gleichen Zeit ihr Essen. Das Lokal war im herbstlichen Ambiente gestaltet. Weil alle Tische belegt waren war es etwas laut im Raum. Eine Unterhaltung am Tisch war aber noch möglich. Die Lage ist auch hervorragend. Wer im Sommer draußen auf dem Balkon isst wird dafür mit einer schönen Aussicht belohnt. Ein Biergarten ist auch vorhanden. Das Römerkastell ist das einzige Gebäude auf diesem Straßenabschnitt (d. h. ruhige Lage). Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden.

Sehr schönes Restaurant mit netten Mitarbeitern. Ich hatte Gemüseschnitzel mit Falafel und Beilagesalat. Es hat uns allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Kommen gerne wieder.

Ich hatte große Erwartungen weil jeder darüber spricht wie gut das Essen schmeckt, na ja ich wurde enttäuscht. Es gab eine Vorspeise Suppe vom Spargel diese war köstlich sehr gut und so dachte ich geht es weiter aber leider war es nicht so . Die Pfanne mit den Rindfleisch Streifen war sehr bescheiden das Fleisch war zäh , die Pilze musste man suchen gehen aber dafür gab es reichlich Fett das stand regelrecht in der Pfanne . Ich konnte nicht einmal die Hälfte davon essen . Noch etwas zum Salat , sauer und versalzen war dieser leider . Es wird für mich keinen zweiten Besuch dort geben

Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt und den hervorragenden Service. Wir waren zu 5 Personen.Ich habe ein Hähnchenschnitzel Südsee gegessen.Soooooo 😋 Die Portion war sehr toll,hab sogar noch eine Kleinigkeit mitgenommen. Tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.Wir kommen wieder.

Das Essen ist qualitativ sehr gut gewesen und die Größe der Portion ist eher im oberen Bereich. Hatte ein Steak und würde es das nächste Mal wieder nehmen.

Wenn du gut essen gehen willst, dann besuche Björn und sein Team. Top Qualität, super Service. Auch bei großem Stress leidet die Qualität nicht. Service sehr aufmerksam. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Wir hatten im März unsere Hochzeit dort gefeiert und es war perfekt. Alles toll dekoriert, Essen ist hervorragend egal welches Gericht und das Personal super lieb und freundlich. Sehr zu empfehlen und jederzeit wieder. Mittlerweile waren wir schon öfter da und es ist jedesmal ein Gaumenschmaus.

Das Essen ist super, die Wartezeit meist immer in Ordnung und die Bedienungen stets freundlich und nett. Gerne wieder.
