Restaurant Rhodos in Kappeln

It was very delicious; we went there today for dinner. The portions are definitely filling. The service is very friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant. Please note that card payments are not accepted. Cash only!

Besøkte restauranten som en stor familie på 4 voksne og 3 barn. Voksne bestilte hovedsaklig gyros og fikk store gode porsjoner. Barna bestilte spagetti med smør og parmesan. Parmesan hadde de ikke, men vi fikk en annen ost til barna. Vi fikk brød til forrett og spurte etter smør, men fikk til svar at de ikke hadde smør, noe som er veldig spesielt for en restaurant. Etter maten spurte vi etter en ozuo som er veldig vanlig på gresk restaurant, vi fikk denne men fikk virkelig sjokk da vi måtte betale 10 euro for ozuoen. Vi tok dette opp med personalet men fikk til svar at dersom man skulle bestille en drink en annen plass måtte man betale. Dette opplevde vi svært lite gjestfritt og en virkelig negativ opplevelse. Vi har vært på flere greske restauranter på vår ferie i Tyskland og alltid fått opptil flere ozuo på på restaurantens regning. Alt i ett en negativ opplevelse etter at personellet oppførte seg svært ufint mot sine gjester! Svaret på slutten av verten på restauranten om hva om vi ikke er fornøyd med og til svar at vi ikke trenger å komme tilbake! Vi syns at personale var veldig frekt vi ble kastet ut etter klokker 21:15 da de skulle stenge.

The food was okay, except for the lamb steak. Small plates were very full; a slightly larger plate would have been nice for eating or cutting food. Cash only.

We often go to Kappeln on the Schlei, and have done so for many, many years. Of course, we always plan one or more appointments at Rhodos. You're always greeted very warmly there, and the food tastes simply amazing... whether it's gyros, souvlaki, or something else. The price/performance ratio is top-notch! The restaurant has a cozy, rustic interior. Even when it's full in high season, you're still served quickly. Of course, you should make a reservation in advance if you're going there with three or more people. If you're lucky, you might even get a table without having to make a reservation. We're always satisfied and will be happy to come back!

You definitely have to pre-order, which would be advisable. The food was good and the prices were reasonable, but the atmosphere could be better.

A personal highlight for me. Just like in the old days: friendly, relaxed, and quiet. Excellent food, superb service, and simply magnificent.

So we've known "the Greek" since the 80s...Mikis Theodrakis music; something by Alexsis Zorba; small and large pictures from the Attic or Cretan homeland; Ouzo in all situations; the interior is a bit older, but rustic! And don't forget: The paper napkin with the most important Greek vocabulary...Efharisto!!! 🇬🇷

We had a wonderful evening at the Rhodes Restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and authentic – you almost felt like you were on holiday in Greece. The service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The food was to die for: fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. We particularly recommend the gyros with metaxa sauce and the souvlaki plate – simply delicious! The homemade tzatziki was also a highlight. We'll definitely be back. A real piece of Greece in the middle of the city!

As a long-time regular customer, I was very happy to be there. I arrived with two friends shortly before 8 p.m. We were greeted very unfriendly. The kitchen closes at 8 p.m., it was Saturday!! We asked why? They became even more unfriendly. Iscrben as well!!, the game answer. Hurry up. We paid almost 75 € for 2 normal + 1 small dish + 2 beers each, already money. It was very salty food. Disappointing for us and very unfriendly service, a shame. It used to be so nice there. I was ashamed to take my friends there. It was the last time for them. Really, really sad. Maybe there is no longer any need to be friendly there.

For me it is one of the best Greek restaurants I have ever been to. Because it is a family-run restaurant, you experience the warmth and friendly nature every time. I think the food is great because e.g. the gyros are nice and crispy but not grilled to death. Other dishes such as bifteki or the pork medallions are also excellent for my taste. Therefore a clear recommendation. And if you order the dishes away from home, you always have enough for the next day.

The food was what you would expect from a standard Greek meal. Meat was of good quality and would fill you up. The inside of the restaurant is very old and dusty, toilets are very small and also very old. On the whole, it is recommended, the food tasted good, the service was quick and the food was prepared quickly.

As always, you feel welcome here. We've been eating here with the family for 20 years and we've never been disappointed. Food authentic. Service familiar.

Everything was ok. Unfortunately not anymore. The flatbread for the starters was unimaginative. The dishes were sufficient so that we were all more than full. In terms of quality, the price-performance ratio was good. We would defend it as standard Greek. Lots of tourists visiting the restaurant, few regular customers...

We were finally in Kappeln again last night. We've been coming here to eat for so many years. It's always comfortable. Very nice owners and the staff is attentive and friendly. It's better to book a table in advance.

Good food and very friendly service

Cozy little Greek restaurant right in the heart of Kappeln. Typical atmosphere, everything is a bit old, but tidy. The staff is extremely friendly and personable! There is a children's card and a children's high chair. We had ordered food to pick up, which was ready on time after 20 minutes and when we picked it up there was also a small ouzo in the bottle. Important note: payment can only be made with cash. The portion of gyros with rice, fries and coleslaw was huge! None of us managed to complete it. For our taste, the meat could be sliced ​​a little thinner and the cabbage a little spicier. But otherwise the €15 is definitely reasonable.

Seit langen noch mal ein Gyros wie wir ihn mögen. Fleisch war super zart und doch mit leckerer Kruste, wie es sich für einen Gyros gehört. Pommes top, Tzaziki schmeckte sehr frisch. Familienbetrieb, der Chef des Hauses brachte noch einen Ouzou aufs Haus. Beim nächsten Besuch in Kappeln kommen wir wieder.

Auf unseren Tellern war übelstes fettes Fleisch, das einfach nach nichts schmeckte. Die Pommes trieften ebenfalls vor Öl und der Salat muß schon Stunden fertig in der Küche gestanden haben. So geht keine griechische Küche.

Service was very friendly. Lots of choice on the menu, food came quickly, delicious coleslaw beforehand. The prices are reasonable and the portions are quite large. Unfortunately there are no dishes for small appetites. Unfortunately the souvlaki was as tough as shoe leather. No card payment.

Hier kann man immer wieder einkehren. Sehr nette Bedienung. Freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen kam heiß am Tisch an. Geschmacklich große Klasse. Unsere Portionen waren so groß, dass wir und Fleisch einpacken lassen mussten.

Wenn ihr Lust auf einen richtig guten Griechen habt, seid ihr hier genau richtig. Das Essen war super lecker – der Gyros schön saftig und die Beilagen top. Man merkt, dass hier mit Liebe gekocht wird. Der Service war auch klasse: freundlich, aufmerksam und mit einem charmanten Lächeln auf den Lippen. Man hat sich sofort wohlgefühlt, fast wie im Urlaub. Die Preise sind absolut fair, vor allem für die großzügigen Portionen, die serviert werden. Wer auf griechische Küche steht, sollte hier auf jeden Fall mal vorbeischauen – ich komme definitiv wieder!

Food great. Crispy gyros, great coleslaw, homemade tzatziki with lots of garlic. The service wasn't overly friendly but it was absolutely ok.

Food was good, BUT service... We hadn't made a reservation and were given a table at 5 p.m. that was reserved for 7 p.m., so the reception was unfriendly. Regular guests arrived after us and were very friendly and served before us. The food came quickly and was good. However, we sat with empty glasses for over half an hour. We tried to draw attention to ourselves but were completely ignored. When we paid (around 6 p.m.) the waitress thought it was a shame that we didn't get anything to drink.

Even spontaneous guests can usually find a place here. The food is delicious and rich. The waitresses are always friendly. The restaurant itself is very loud.

We were there spontaneously, with four people, and felt very comfortable. The food was very good. Unfortunately you can't pay with an EC card there... so pack enough cash...

So if you are in Kappel and love Greek cuisine, you have to eat here. Super tasty and enough on the plate. It would be an advantage to reserve a table. I would give 10 stars if I could.

The best Greek in the region. My husband and I live about an hour away from Kappeln and still go to Kappeln every time we feel like Greek food. Clearly always a top choice.

It's been a long time since I've enjoyed Greek cuisine so well. Rarely have I had such a crispy yet juicy gyro. The beef liver was on point. The dishes including tzatziki were not overly seasoned. Super nice staff. Anyone holidaying in the Kappeln region should definitely stop by. Reservation of a table is recommended.

Clean is something else. There is a lot of dust on the table feet and chair backs. Toilets could also be renovated. Despite everything, the food tastes more than good.

Without a reservation we were turned away in some restaurants (4 people) and then went to Rhodes because we already knew it from our last stay! Here they made it possible for us to get a nice place even though everything was actually full! We were served very friendly and ate very well! The food was very plentiful! Everything perfect!

Oh my God...I've never experienced anything like that. Our 6 year old twins have celiac disease. Before we don't know where we can go out to eat in 2 weeks, I wanted to clarify this in advance. Wir kommen seit über 20 Jahren immer und immer wieder gern zum Essen ins Restaurant Rhodos, denn das Essen ist immer fantastisch. Egal ob Gyros, Grillteller oder Fischgerichte, alles ist immer unglaublich lecker. Dazu kommt ein sehr, sehr liebes Team, dass einen mit so viel Herzlichkeit empfängt und bedient. Jetzt könnte man sagen, dass Stammgäste vielleicht anders aufgenommen werden, wie Fremde, dem ist nicht so. Es ist immer wieder so schön zu beobachten, wie hier jeder mit dieser Herzlichkeit aufgenommen wird, was gerade deshalb auch dazu führt, dass jeder gerne wiederkommt. Ich habe hier in den Rezensionen schon einige Male gelesen, dass das Restaurant ehr einfach gehalten ist. Das mag jeder so sehen wie er will. Ich finde es sehr authentisch und gemütlich. Für uns stimmt hier einfach alles. Jeder findet hier etwas auf der Speisekarte, man kann auch Wünsche äußern und andere Kombinationen bekommen, und das Wichtigste, es ist richtig lecker und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut perfekt.

Tolles und reichliches Essen! Nur zu empfehlen. Liegt etwas abseits, aber der Weg lohnt sich! Wunderschöne Lage mit Außenterrasse. Es sind nur 800m vom Yachthafen.

Sehr einfach eingerichtet und das Essen nur ausreichend hatten den gebackenen Käse, der ok war Gyros Nr. 37 = Fleisch nicht gut, Reis lauwarm und Tzatzki eher Quark . Steakplatte trocken und teilweise kalt. Ein schönes Essen war es nicht

Wir waren schon ein paar mal dort und kommen gerne wieder. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und reichlich. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich.
