We celebrated our daughter and son-in-law's wedding there last week and were completely satisfied. The service was excellent, and the staff extremely friendly and accommodating. We had a fantastic meal and the celebration was outstanding. We slept in the hotel. The rooms are very attractive and clean, and the breakfast was more than adequate.

I was there for a wedding and also stayed overnight. It's a great place to celebrate. Simply fantastic: the service, the location, the food—a perfect package. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The rooms were tastefully decorated. I'd happily go back again.

Hello, We were privileged to spend a wonderful day with you on June 28, 2025, at my cousin's wedding. The ambiance, the service, the food, and the entire team at Reiherhorst – everything was simply fantastic. The manager found a perfect solution for us to stay overnight in the caravan. My godmother celebrated her wedding there and I have to say I am really disappointed. I had only heard good things about this place beforehand, that it was really expensive, but the food was really great, good service and so on, but what happened that day is a mystery to me. We arrived in the garden at around 3 p.m. The tables were calmly put out at around 3:30 p.m. and covers were put on, and then at some point the music was turned on. The fountain was also turned on at around 4 p.m., yes, it continues. The snacks were delivered much too late. They only arrived at around 6 p.m., even though the food was supposed to be served at 7 p.m. I thought the food was very good. Then it was time for the party. There they presented us with bottled fake Korn and at 9:30 p.m. they said they no longer had any sealed Korn bottles, even though we specifically said that we are big Korn drinkers. We need a lot of Korn and a lot of Korn for a long time. Baileys was also presented with a fake Baileys, some kind of Toffifee liqueur. Such a shame. Best, Larissa Since it's unfortunately not possible to answer here, I'll just do it this way. It's not just about the schnapps, it's also about the fact that the decorations and everything are only set up when we arrive. Like, there were no fruits in the drinks, even though you're not cheap. You could have easily put some frozen fruit in the Liqueur or an orange in the Aperol.

We celebrated our wedding there with a non-denominational ceremony. Mr. Garen, the host, has everything under control and is always available to listen to any concerns. The organization is perfect! Whether in the preparation phase or on the day of the celebration, Mr. Garen is always there to direct traffic 👍. Any special requests? No problem!!! A tip here: this man really has a plan; you should accept his suggestions 99% of the time; his concept is well-founded. The decorations are from A to Z (you can practically skip the florist). The rooms are great. The location is perfect for photos, with a truly beautiful garden! The service team is very attentive and accommodating. Last but not least, the food is top-notch. The restaurant itself deserves a separate review, as the selection is huge and the taste is excellent. Even the wedding cake was included! His sister is responsible for this point. You can tell it's a family business, and everyone is passionate about their work. It was almost unbelievable how relaxed the entire preparation period was, and how relaxed we were able to enjoy the wedding day as a couple!!! We would do it again and hope to enjoy this location as guests someday!

We celebrated a wedding there and I have to say that it was really nice. You could chat to everyone, whether it was the waiters or the chef. The house was really great, it looked very beautiful and luxurious. It was really warm but it was perfect in the park, drinks were brought very quickly and when you got hungry the finger food came out and was also very tasty. When it came to the actual food I was impressed, there was a good selection for everyone. I recommend to everyone who sees this to go and eat there, to celebrate, etc. Beautiful!

Perfect wedding venue – highly recommended! We celebrated our sister-in-law's wedding last weekend at the Reiherhorst Hotel and Inn, and we'd like to express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Garen and his entire team! The entire process was absolutely seamless, the staff were always attentive and friendly – ​​no one had an empty glass, and the food was not only delicious but also always plentiful and freshly refilled. Every request was met with a smile. As a wedding photographer, I regularly visit a wide variety of locations and can therefore say with conviction: This venue definitely stands out! I would particularly like to highlight the well-thought-out concept with the overnight accommodations and the separate annex, which is ideal for getting ready. The adjacent park with its fountain is a dream location for an outdoor ceremony or a champagne reception – simply beautiful! Thank you so much for this unforgettable celebration – we would love to come back and wholeheartedly recommend the Reiherhorst!

We celebrated our wedding at Reiherhorst and were absolutely thrilled with the location beforehand, but in retrospect, I wouldn't celebrate there again. The food was very good, and the location itself and the park are beautiful. But a few things didn't go as we had hoped or agreed upon. So, my lesson from this is that in the future, I'll get everything agreed upon in writing, so there won't be any discussions afterward. One type of alcohol that was ordered as the most important item in advance was definitely out of stock early on, and only after repeated requests for restocking was something delivered. The bar staff were also a bit unfriendly, so you don't want that alone at your wedding. Even the original Baileys I ordered, as I insisted on beforehand because I personally prefer this cream liqueur, was replaced with an alternative. Furthermore, the Fernet Branca I ordered was forgotten after the meal. These were just a few examples; there were a few other things that weren't okay. What was definitely a shame was that we were promised a private discussion over breakfast. Unfortunately, there was no follow-up meeting in person or by phone. The bill was sent, and a discount was granted due to the criticism. While this was fine, it doesn't undo what happened. Unfortunately, the celebration won't be a particularly fond memory. We're disappointed.

We were fortunate enough to be able to celebrate our civil wedding in an intimate setting at Gut Halte, and it was simply perfect. From the initial communication to the day of the wedding, everything went so smoothly, and it was 100% as we had imagined. The registry office itself, as well as the adjacent park, is simply stunning. It really couldn't have been more beautiful. Finally, we ate at the Reiherhorst restaurant, and everything there was absolutely fantastic. No one had any complaints; in fact, everyone was thrilled. :) A huge thank you again to the waiter who looked after us the entire time. Two years ago, we were guests at a wedding reception here and were also able to stay overnight, and there's nothing negative to say about that either. :) We've had nothing but positive experiences here and would do it again, exactly the same way, anytime. We were guests at a wedding at Reiherhorst. The personal service from the host family is outstanding! Unfortunately, you find that kind of thing less and less these days, but that's probably why you should book your wedding there at least a year in advance. The aperitif in the garden was unbelievably beautiful. A large, park-like setting. The food was also fantastic. There was a large buffet where everything tasted amazing. We ordered some cocktails later because they had a nice little gin menu with less common but very tasty gins. Very coolly prepared. The wines were also very tasty. We had a Rose from Provence, which I have not found anywhere else in Germany. The rooms in the small manor house next door had obviously just been renovated and were very modern and well equipped. Breakfast was also fantastic. If I wasn't already married, I would celebrate at Reiherhorst. It was a wonderful evening.

NOT RECOMMENDED. We celebrated a wedding there, and there are several negative points. It was very important to us that we had authentic drinks, like Berentzen Korn, Baileys, etc. However, we were given fake products. Furthermore, the Lillet and Aperol didn't serve oranges or fruit, which I think should be a given for such a fancy restaurant. The finger food also arrived much too late, and half an hour before the actual meal, you don't need it anymore... The location itself is really great, the staff is very friendly, and the food was also excellent. However, they didn't even apologize to us, just a meager discount... In my opinion, I don't recommend it.

We were there on May 2nd. as guests at a wedding with our little daughter. The food was great, the staff was super on their toes, as soon as you finished your drink it was refilled straight away, etc. We haven't experienced such good service in a long time. Then a particularly positive mention: A female service worker (unfortunately we don't have a name, but she had short hair) was particularly attentive to our little daughter. She came up to us in the park and asked if we would like a child-friendly alternative for dinner and when we asked her in the evening whether it would be possible for her to leave a slice of bread with cheese in front of our daughter's door early in the morning, she even thought of it! That was really very remarkable and we were very happy about it because our little one gets up early and couldn't have waited until breakfast. So really awesome :-) The only point of criticism in the room: The darkening could be adjusted if necessary, it was relatively bright in the room because the curtain let in a lot of light and the hairdryer in the bathroom had also seen its age. But otherwise we can recommend the location 100 percent. :-)

It's rare that I give 5 stars, but today we ate there with a group of about 25 people. And I really enjoyed it. The food was excellent. The server was on the ball, very friendly, and also sensibly dressed. Hats off to him. I'll definitely be back.

My husband was served a "wrong" dish. He was allowed to eat both dishes and we received a bottle of champagne upon departure for the inconvenience! Super service! Extremely friendly staff and delicious food! We will definitely come back!

Yesterday we had dinner at the Reiherhorst with 18 people. It was once again super tasty. The Reiherhorst restaurant is highly recommended. Today we had dinner at the Reiherhorst Restaurant again with 8 people because we were always extremely satisfied. This time too we were not disappointed. The meal was again a pleasure from the starter to the dessert. The service staff was very accommodating. All in all, it was another great meal in a great restaurant. Yesterday we had dinner at the Heron's Nest restaurant. The welcome was very warm and you immediately noticed that the service staff were very friendly, had everything under control and knew exactly what they were doing! Hats off! So the starter was bruchetta and the main course was a vegan vegetable curry which was hard to beat in terms of taste! The selection of vegetarian dishes is also very varied and appealing. Even the boss himself has the honor of a little chat and holds the door open for his guests. In my opinion, a very friendly, likeable man who places great importance on the well-being of his guests. We really enjoyed the evening and will definitely repeat it. A big thank you to the entire Heron Nest team for this wonderful evening in their house :)

We are always happy to be guests at the Heron's Nest, whether for large family celebrations, cozy dinners in small groups, on special occasions, or as a destination on excursions just for a little something. We are enthusiastic about the individual advice and implementation of the celebrations. The location is great and we really like what is being done with it. We think the food is excellent and prepared with a lot of love. There is always something suitable for young and old, and we also thought the drink recommendations were great. We are already looking forward to the next time in the Heron's Nest.

So we were invited there for dinner on Sunday. First of all, the beautiful thing. Very nicely furnished and several celebrations can take place without being disturbed. The first waiter was super professional at lunch. It's worth saying about the food! Unfortunately frozen goods or instant soup East Frisian wedding soup. Only a machine can cut egg custards like this. Beef roulades were Tk goods. Equally sized portions are only possible in machine form. The pig medallions as well. It was a shame that the warming plates didn't really keep warm and the medallions already with mushroom sauce were mixed with the roulades with brown sauce on the tray. So it is very difficult for mushroom allergy sufferers to eat the roulades. Potatoes, croquettes as well as frozen goods. The sauces were instant. Everything was prepared great, but I still had the feeling that it was like food in a senior residence or canteen. Just beautifully presented and a great ambience. At tea time we were first asked to take the cake and tea ourselves and the new waitress repeatedly asked the birthday child energetically to open tea time and to get up. If looks could have killed, we would all be gone. When the tea was empty and the new waitress came, the tone changed and she energetically asked to sit down again immediately. She would confine herself to the table. I don't know if the waitress was last in the Bundeswehr, but she would probably be better off there. This made the atmosphere very tense. I wouldn't give this a star but the previous waiter was great. So 2 stars. However the view is 5 star. All in all I can't judge the prices but from what I've read they're in the upper segment. Too much for the food on offer when you know that there is a lot of frozen food. But the restaurant and the ambience also have to be financed.

Very clean & nice restaurant! We were looking for a spontaneous stop during a bike ride and they even turned on the deep fryer for us. And once again you have to say, the sound makes the music.

We had dinner at the Heron's Nest on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024. Everything was perfect, from the wine recommendation to the starter of crab soup. The main course was duck breast, perfectly fried, vegetables al dente. The gentleman had the men's table setting for dessert and I had the women's table setting. The restaurant, the ambience and the service are absolutely recommended.

On a sunny Sunday, my husband and I were cycling in Papenburg and spontaneously took a break in the Reiherhorst beer garden. We ordered coffee and cake. Unfortunately, it is not possible for non-smokers to sit there as there is an ashtray on every table and as a non-smoker you will be hit by smoke from all sides. The people from the restaurant also come out and stand there and smoke. When I spoke to the waiter about it and asked why there were no non-smoking areas, he immediately felt addressed and was immediately attacked because smokers were allowed to smoke outside. He described himself as a heavy smoker and was probably proud of it. We shouldn't act like that, after all, smoking is allowed in public, that's what the law says...and if we can't stand the smoke, we could go inside, because unfortunately smoking would now be forbidden there. So we were speechless...at first we thought oh we could celebrate our wooden wedding here in 2 years. But after this experience once and never again and this wants to be a high-quality restaurant...no trace of sensible customer service or service.

We celebrated our wedding here - it was perfect all around - even the weather (Even though this couldn't actually be influenced by Mr. Garen and his team, I'm not sure whether a deal wasn't made ;-)) Everything is uncomplicated, implemented to the highest perfection and beautifully. Food was great, service was second to none. The special request for a gluten-free wedding cake was also met! The overnight stay was nice, the breakfast was great! Only recommended!

Wir hatten gestern einen tollen Abend mit Freunden beim GinTasting! Von Enno herzlich begrüßt und willkommen geheißen, konnten wir u.a. Frauke‘s köstlichen selbst destillierten Gin mit Himbeer Aroma testen und wurden von ihr durch den Abend geführt. Begleitet von dem leckersten Menü seit langem von Wiebke und ihrem Küchenteam! Vielen Dank für diesen schönen Abend im tollen Ambiente!

Wir haben hier unsere Hochzeit gefeiert und waren einfach nur rundum zufrieden! Die erste Kontaktaufnahme und auch der weitere Kontakt war alles sehr unkompliziert (Man muss sich nur früh drum kümmern, sonst ist es schon ausgebucht!). Hr. Garen war einfach nur super und hat uns auch sehr viel abgenommen. WIr hatten nicht sehr konkrete Vorstellungen, sodass wir am Ende einfach froh waren, dass er da gut unterstützen konnte (auch mit Empfehlungen für DJ und Fotograf...). Er hat, was den Ablauf und die Räumlichkeiten angeht, auch ein sehr gutes Konzept, was einwandfrei funktioniert hat. Man musste sich keine Gedanken machen, dass irgendwas schiefgehen könnte - und selbst wenn, wüssten sie, wie sie damit am besten umgehen. Das Essen war super(das haben alle Gäste im Nachhinein noch einmal betont) - und für mich wurde aufgrund von einer Intoleranz auch noch ein extra Nachtisch und Suppe gemacht, obwohl ich danach gar nicht gefragt hatte. Und sehr besonders hervorzuheben ist auch generell das Personal! Alle sehr professionell und zuvorkommend. Wenn ihr heiraten wollt und den Tag einfach nur entspannt genießen wollt, seid ihr hier richtig! Für alles ist gesorgt und man kann einfach nur feiern!

Wir waren sehr kurzfristig auf der Suche nach unserer Traumlocation, da die ursprünglich reservierte Location für uns nicht mehr in Frage kam. Kurzerhand riefen wir direkt im Reiherhorst an und hatten Glück. Ein Brautpaar ist genau für unser Wunschdatum kurz vorher abgesprungen. Herr Garen lud uns zu einem Kennenlernen ein. Es war ein absolut angenehmes Gespräch, eine traumhafte Location und wir haben direkt ein super Bauchgefühl gehabt. Das Team vom Reiherhorst weiß zu 100% worauf es bei der Ausrichtung einer Hochzeit ankommt. Dort bekommt ihr alles aus einer Hand. Wir trauten uns im wunderschönen Gästehaus, hatten einen Sektempfang, sowie freie Trauung in dem atemberaubenden Garten und abends das Essen und die Party im Reiherhorst mit Blick auf die Meyerwerft. Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich und schneller als man gucken kann. So etwas habe ich noch nirgendwo anders erlebt. Das Essen ist eine 10/10. Die Hochzeitsnacht verbrachten wir ebenfalls dort im Gästehaus. Die Zimmer sind wunderschön eingerichtet und laden ein zum Entspannen. Das Frühstück am nächsten Tag war ebenfalls perfekt. Rund um können wir nichts, wirklich gar nichts negatives sagen. Eher im Gegenteil - man kann keine Worte finden, die im Ansatz beschreiben, wie toll es dort ist.

Tolles Hotel anbei..viel liebe zum Detail..superfreundliche Mitarbeiter... sueht man selten... Bewertung: Hervorragend da kommt sehr gerne wieder...

Es war schön mit euch unseren besonderen Tag zu verbringen. Ihr bietet nicht nur eine absolute Traumlocation in Traumlage, sondern seid darüber hinaus noch ein Traumteam. Wir haben uns bei euch und mit euch fantastisch umsorgt gefühlt. Sowohl die Organisation als auch das Zwischenmenschliche hat zu 120% gestimmt. Ihr habt alles wundervoll hergerichtet. Der Service ist unglaublich nett, serviert nicht nur, erfüllt alle wünsche und schnackt auch mal eine Runde. Also ihr lieben Leute, hin da, ruft vorher an, sonst ist nix mit einem Platz ;). Wir waren Gäste einer Hochzeit in Ihrem Hause und wir müssen sagen, es war alles TOP!!! Sehr gutes Essen, sehr aufmerksames Personal eine sehr schöne Location.

Wir haben am 24.06 im Reiherhorst eine freie Trauung gehabt und anschließend unsere Hochzeit gefeiert. Sowohl die Absprache vor der Hochzeit als auch die Durchführung am Tag selber liefen reibungslos. Herr Garen hat tolle Ideen und viel Erfahrung und stand uns jeder Zeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Der Service wurde von unseren Gästen durchweg gelobt, nicht nur weil sie schnell mit den Getränken waren, sondern auch für ihre freundliche und humorvolle Art. Auch das Essen war einfach nur lecker und es war für alle was dabei. Wir sind sehr sehr froh, dass wir uns entschieden haben unsere Hochzeit in Reiherhorst zu feiern. Wir waren zur Betriebsfeier im Reiherhorst. Der Empfang war sehr schick und professionell, das Essen hat rundum sehr gut geschmeckt und sogar der Chef des Hauses hat sich nach unserer Zufriedenheit erkundigt. Die Location ist top, sehr edel, aber nicht zu fein. Klasse!

Rundherum alles klasse! Wir haben zwei Nächte dort verbracht und werden gerne wiederkommen. Nette Menschen, zuvorkommend und freundlicher Service. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Last month a few of our colleagues from the UK and Europe went to visit MEYER WERFT ship yard in Germany with CLIA Europe. They've arranged us to have our dinner here on the first day. The service and food we were provided were fantastic. We all had cream of mushroom to start with and a few of us vegetarians and vegans were given a separate main specially cooked for us. The drink flowed throughout the night and and the dessert red berries with vanilla ice cream was a great end to the night. Thank you so much for the staff here for making our night fabulous.

Traditional German and European style foods. Very reasonable prices less than 59 euro per person. Good selection of wines for paring. A little slow service but service was pleasant and helpful. English spoken.

- 1h30 to be serve - Frozen FISH - warm white wine - paper napkin - ..... Go any place else, the food will be much better and the price much cheaper. Gérard Martinez

Für Hochzeit oder Familienfeier ist der Reiherhorst sehr zu empfehlen. Das Restaurant ist wunderschön mit sehr gutem Essen. Es gibt ein malerisches Gästehaus und einen großen Park.

Grundsätzlich kann man hier gut bis sehr gut essen. Entweder auf Feierlichkeiten (Hochzeit etc.), oder direkt im Restaurant. Auch der Service ist immer ausgezeichnet. Preis/Leistung würde demzufolge als gut bewerten.

Hier gewest voor een familie diner. Werkelijk alles was perfect geregeld. Super bediening en daarnaast alles super schoon. Een aanrader dit hotel.

Am Samstag haben wir mit 155 Gästen unsere kirchliche Trauung im Reiherhorst bei Familie Garen gefeiert. Schon bei den Vorgesprächen mit Enno Garen haben wir die Professionalität des Hauses spüren können. Es hat wirklich an nichts gemangelt. Das Haus ist sehr gepflegt, mit einem wunderschönen Garten. Von der Beleuchtung bis zur Dekoration hat alles gestimmt. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommen und freundlich. Das Essen war eines der größten Highlights. Die Köchin Wiebke und ihr Team haben sich wirklich selbst übertroffen. Der Kreativität sind keine Grenzen gesetzt und wer etwas Besonderes sucht, ist hier definitiv an der richtigen Adresse. Alles in allem können wir nichts Negatives sagen. Vielen Dank für den unvergesslichen Tag!!

Wir haben unsere Hochzeit mit ca. 120 Gästen im Reiherhorst gefeiert und es war - nicht nur aus unserer Perspektive, sondern auch aus der aller Gäste (Jung und Alt gemischt), eine großartige Feier mit phantastischem Essen, sehr zuvorkommendem und überaus freundlichem Sevice, einem tollen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und viel Unterstützung bei der Planung der Feier. Die Räumlichkeiten und Außenanlagen bieten - auch durch die Nähe zum Deich und der Meyer Werft - viele Optionen und ermöglichen einen angenehmen und kurzweiligen Ablauf eines solchen Tages. Wir können die Location daher voller Überzeugung weiterempfehlen!

Wir waren im Restaurant Reiherhorst mittags zu dritt essen. Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert und sind sehr frühzeitig angekommen. Deswegen war es anfangs noch etwas kalt im Restaurant. Wir wurden sehr nett begrüßt und konnten, obwohl es noch so früh war, unsere Plätze schon einnehmen. Das Restaurant liegt etwas außerhalb von Papenburg, direkt gegenüber von der Meyer Werft. Dadurch hat man einen interessanten Ausblick. Die Räume sind schön modern eingerichtet. Die Stühle sind bequem. Das Essen war hervorragend. Vor allem die Krabbensuppe war sehr lecker. Hervorheben möchte ich unbedingt die super gute Bedienung. Wir wurden insgesamt von drei Angestellten, einer davon war vermutlich der Chef des Hauses, bedient. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden, wenn wir wieder mal in die Ecke Deutschlands kommen, auf jeden Fall wieder dort essen.

Das Restaurant Reiherhorst habe ich schon viele Male besucht ; bei Festivitäten ( letztmalig gestern ) und auch abends a la carte essen. Ich kann sagen ich wurde noch nie enttäuscht. Das Essen immer sehr gut und frisch zubereitet , Weine gut eingekauft, der Service aufmerksam . Das gilt sowohl für das Buffett bei Feiern als auch bei einem schönes Abendessen. Es ist kein Zufall, daß das Restaurant so gut nachgefragt ist. Gute Arbeit zahlt sich halt doch aus. Klare Empfehlung.

Trotzt vorheriger Nachfrage nach Wild und Gans stand beides nicht auf der Karte. Nur ein Bier vom Faß oder Weizenbier ließ uns keine Wahl. Es würde uns dann auf nochmalige Nachfrage vor Ort ein Wildgericht und Gans angeboten. Wir hatten verschiedene Speisen und Desserts. Die Küche war in allen Dingen sehr gut. Am Umgang mit uns Kunden könnte noch etwas gearbeitet werden. Also Küche 5 Sterne uns (2Personen) 4 und 2 Sterne.

Etwas abgelegen liegt das Restaurant Reiherhorst in Halte in direkter Nähe der Meyer-Werft in Papenburg. Das Ambiente ist etwas rustikal aber trotzdem irgendwie gemütlich. In der Karte findet sich für jeden Geschmack etwas. Diese wird saisonal angepasst. Das Essen schmeckt ausgezeichnet. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut in Ordnung. Der Service ist aufmerksam und freundlich. Insgesamt ein lohnenswerter Besuch und bestimmt auch nicht der letzte.
