Excellent traditional Greek restaurant. Fast, very organized service. Place in the heart of Athens but quiet, which is precious. Classic dishes always well executed. Favas, gemista, tzatziki, excellent ouzos....very good value for money. Don't go there too late in the evening to get a table. (The restaurant next door recently invaded the space reserved for Platanos....and yet it's not up to par, we only tried it once....strange feeling...) Thank you to the Platanos staff for their welcome. We come back to dine at your place every time we are in Athens and it is always a pleasure!!! Please don't get too overwhelmed.... Best thoughts from France.

The ambiance isn't really my taste, but I don't want to move in there. :-) The prices are moderate but not cheap, and the food impressed me with both quality and quantity. The best part, though, was the exceptionally friendly waiter. Maybe it was the owner, but whatever. I miss such dedication and friendliness in most restaurants. Great! If I'm ever passing through again, I'll gladly stop here!

The boss served us personally. 😀 He was very friendly and attentive. We were greeted with the obligatory ouzo. The food was served in just 20 minutes. The preparation was good and it tasted very tasty. 😀We were satisfied.

I recently visited this restaurant with my husband. We enjoyed the food and special requests were accommodated. The service was friendly. We'd love to come back.

We also had the same experience with the voucher book. The restaurant had just opened, and we placed our order (2 rump steaks). After a moment, the owner came over and said that only one portion of rump steak was left. We should choose something else for our second course. We did, too. But it's strange when the restaurant has just opened and only one portion of rump steak is available. Could that be due to the price? The side dishes on the plate were also very limited.

Unfortunately I only give one star for the food. I wanted something "small", pita with salad. The salad consisted of 1 1/2 tomato slices and onions. The gyro was lukewarm and this flatbread was tough as leather. Maybe I was unlucky... Service and ambience were fine.

Went there for the first time today - even though we drove past it almost every day - and we'll definitely be back. Very tasty food and sometimes more choice than just the typical gyros and bifteki. We thought the selection was really great. We also flirted with a dessert, but the portions are so big that after the starter and main course you really don't have any room left. Also super friendly service, you feel very welcome. The furnishings are not cluttered - chic and very clean. Anyone who still knows the interior of the restaurant as Erlenhof will hardly recognize it. Turned out very nice.

We like to eat Greek food and have already visited a number of restaurants. So we ended up here for the first time yesterday. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. However the food....?? I ordered calamari with gyros. I had already eaten this combination in another restaurant and was thrilled at the time. The kalamris were grilled and lay next to the gyros. Yesterday the calamari was fried and was on the gyro. So the gyro was floating in the frying fat from the calamari and therefore tasted like fish. Even though the restaurant was empty, I was still served the onions I ordered. Side dishes such as fries must be ordered separately. A normal portion of fries cost an additional €3.80. No thanks, never again!

The voucher book is not welcome there. We were made to feel that very clearly. Side dishes such as fries had to be ordered separately for the dishes. Portions such as gyros and fries were very manageable for the price. The taste of the food was ok. It's a shame, through the voucher book we've already gotten to know many restaurants in the area that we've visited many times. This is not one of them.

Only meat or similar is available with the voucher book. The supplement does not include this, even though it says so in the book's guidelines. Even after pointing this out, it was ignored. Service was generally a bit slow and both one drink and one meal were forgotten in a group of 6 people. The quality of the food was okay.

After more than an hour we got our cold starters, they were also good, you have to order extra bread for the tzatziki, which I'm not familiar with, as it's actually the case everywhere that you always get some bread with it. Well, everyone does it differently. Drinks were also a long time coming, my husband tried several times to get the service person's attention, but he was skillfully ignored. Regular customers were given preferential treatment. We felt very out of place there. Very unfortunate.

Last Monday, August 12, 2024, after a walk with the dog in the Ruhr meadows, we spontaneously wanted to eat something in the beer garden at the Platanos restaurant. Unfortunately, we found ourselves in front of closed doors around 7 p.m. The beer garden also seemed more deserted than it had been used in the previous days. We then tried to contact us by phone, but unfortunately no one answered. When I looked at the website it said that there are company holidays until August 11th, 2024. But currently it's August 12th, 2024 and so it should have been open again. Unfortunately, because we were still hungry, we had to look for another restaurant. I think we weren't the only disappointed guests on this wonderful summer evening and it's a shame that I can't read any information about it at the restaurant itself or on the Internet.

It was our first time there and we had heard good and bad things before. The food was very tasty, but not really hot. If there had been two waitresses working there, it would have been a perfect evening. We'll be back because all in all it was a nice evening and we're also looking for reinforcements. Edit: I heard that they not only increased the prices, but also separated the main courses. For example, if you order a grilled plate, you no longer get a side dish. You have to order the fries and salad separately. Hello ! Are you crazy? We've agreed to go there in a few days. If that's really true, we'll definitely not go there again. Unfortunately a very big disappointment. Only after the cards had been handed out, drinks had been picked up and served was the information given that gyros could only be ordered in combination with other dishes. But no gyros plates or gyros in Metaxa as a main course (as stated in the menu). They probably wanted to sell the large plates instead. This notice was also given to all neighboring tables only after the drinks. It wasn't late in the evening either. So for me it's clearly a scam and pretty unfair. If we had been told this directly we would have moved on. Otherwise for food: Souvlaki and fries okay, tzatziki like from the supermarket. Cola glass not really clean. Portions rather clear. Overall just not good enough for the price. The atmosphere outside in the courtyard is also rather semi-pleasant. It seems nicer inside.

Since we were very dissatisfied on our first visit (newly opened), we wanted to give the restaurant a second chance after about a year. Unfortunately also disappointed on the second visit. Salty again, waited a long time and this fake friendliness... It's not cheap either Unfortunately this is no longer an option for us

We reserved a table for a family reunion at lunch and were pleasantly surprised! A great atmosphere, delicious food, and extremely friendly owners. Our visit will definitely not be our last!

I wanted to eat typical Greek food with a simple Greek restaurant. I found a first-class ambience, a great atmosphere and passionate service with Greek hospitality. Price-performance ratio top Locally top Cleanliness top top I had a great evening, good food with a great chef who was very attentive, I had a great evening with a Greek atmosphere, even the music was in Greek if I had been on vacation. Very tasty Greek food with extremely friendly service! The meat dishes were juicy and not at all dry. Tzatziki, sauces, rice, ... everything is great!

The food was lukewarm, fries were barely fried. Mixed salad was ordered, Greek with ready-made dressing. Drinks and food were served at the end of the table, where we guests then passed them through. To order, you had to make yourself known or order at the counter. It was possible Don't excuse it with a lack of staff either. When I go out to eat, I expect better. In short, I don't recommend it.

The staff is super friendly. As a standard, there are no side dishes for the dishes on the menu. These have to be ordered separately and are also charged separately. We only saw this at second glance and were a bit surprised, as we had not had this in any restaurant before. We found the prices to be a bit sporty, but on the other hand everything becomes more expensive. Thanks to the traffic light ;-) 😉 The taste of the food was ok.

The service was very friendly and our dog was also welcome. If no side dishes were specified on the menu, you had to order and pay for them separately. Moussaka with farmer's salad was there, but there was no sheep's cheese on it, which I only know. My husband had the liver from the menu and paid for extra rice. At the end there was an ouzo on the house. We were there with the voucher book.

Food was good, not too salty, gyros were a bit too fatty for my taste but that's a matter of taste, tomato soup was excellent 👍 could perhaps be served a little warmer. But on average it was great.

We ate at Platanos again today and were thrilled as always. The food was excellently prepared and tasted great too. The boss rounds everything off with his friendly and personable manner. An enrichment for our small town and it's great that there are still restaurateurs who are facing the difficult times.

Rip off!!! After a nice meal, the shock came! After asking for the bill we were asked how we would like to pay. We paid cash. Then the bill came with a note from the waiter that the VAT had been increased. Previously we only knew the prices from the menu and were not told anything else. The drinks were moderately increased, the starters were increased by 25-30% and the main courses remained the same, so the total on the bill was a round sum. We were shocked and paid with a tip. It should also be noted that we were alone in the guest room. For friends who had recently paid in cash when the dining room was full, the card prices applied. So really bad trick, we're served! We would have been happy to pay the prices on the menu, of course! However, when paying, higher prices were charged than were shown on the card.

We received a very warm welcome and were there with seven people. We had a reservation and got a nice table. I would love to give it 5 stars, but the food took over an hour to arrive, which was really good and delicious. The obligatory Utzo for our good friends was also not missing. I can recommend this place with a clear conscience.

A few weeks ago I had dinner here with a group of friends and I was very disappointed. The service was friendly and the taste of the food was also ok. I had liver with rice and the portion was about the size of a child's plate, so I wasn't nearly full and when I got home I seriously prepared myself something else. Waren heute zu dritt beim Essen und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Sehr leckere Vorspeisen und leckere Hauptgerichte. Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Einzig die Mayonnaise hätte auch umsonst sein dürfen. Ansonsten nichts zu bemängeln. Kommen gerne wieder.

Aufgrund der Bewertung haben wir heute den Weg nach Wickede auf uns genommen Wir durften uns einen Tisch aussuchen Das Restaurant war gut besucht, es war sehr unruhig aber alles noch im Rahmen Die Kellnerin war sehr nett Etwas kühl da wir in der Nähe der Tür gesessen haben u oft Gäste zum Rauchen raus gegangen sind Nachdem wir bestellt haben dauerte es ca 20 Min bis der Beilagen - Salat kam Dieser war schon nicht gut ! Fertigware mit einem Cocktail Dressing . Nach ca 10 weiteren min kam das Essen Grillteller (22.-Euro ) u für 24,50 Euro ein ähnliches Gericht Leider ein sehr schlechtes Preis Leistungsverhältnis! Für den Preis mehr erwartet, aber auch einen wässerigen Reis, ein Bifteki was beim ersten Biss schon mach Spülmittel schmeckte Tzaziki nicht würzig Das andere Fleisch war ok, aber nicht berauschend ! Die Leber vom grillteller wurde nachgeliefert Als man uns fragte ob es schmeckt haben wir dies beanstandet Man sagte uns das man das mit dem Tzaziki auch schon beim Koch bemängelt habe da mehrere Gäste das gesagt haben Zu den anderen Dingen sagte man nichts, sind ja auch auf dem Teller geblieben Keinerlei Entschuldigung oder ein entgegenkommen beim Preis oder ein Getränk als Entschuldigung ect! Also nicht besser wie eine Pommes Bude Und dafür fast 40 Min Fahrt und einen überteuerten Preis bezahlt Leider von vielen Griechen die wir besucht haben, einer der schlechtesten Nur beim Koch wurde wohl Luft gemacht aber als Gast musste man alles so hinnehmen Das ist in über 30 Jahren die erste so schlechte Bewertung gewesen die wir abgegeben haben und wir sind fast jedes Wochenende in ganz NRW , Kreis Soest essen

Gute Speisen gemütliches Ambiente und freundliches und kompetentes Personal

Wir sind recht spät dort gewesen, eigentlich wäre die Küche schon zu gewesen aber wir haben noch alles bekommen. Es war schnell da und sehr lecker trotz der Uhrzeit. Die Kalamari kann ich nur empfehlen.

Einfacher Gastraum. Schöne griechische Musik. Sehr gutes Essen . Getränkepreise fair. Wir kommen wieder.

Sehr gute Lage, direkt am Ruhrtalradweg. Sehr netter Inhaber. Essen war reichhaltig, die Pommes waren heiß und knusprig und lecker gewürzt. Das Tzaziki ist kaum zu toppen. Das Gyros war ziemlich fettarm. Ein wenig Deko wird nach Aussage des Inhabers noch nachgeholt, aber trotzdem wirkt das Restaurant nicht kahl. Aus meiner Sicht eine klare Empfehlung und ich hoffe, dass sich das Restaurant etablieren wird. Nachtrag: waren jetzt insgesamt dreimal da und inzwischen ist auch der Biergarten eröffnet. Sehr gemütlich, da recht gut windgeschützt. Jedes Mal was anderes gegessen, aber alles sehr lecker. Auch der Nachtisch. Grandios ist der griechische Joghurt mit Nüssen und Honig, aber sehr mächtig. Ein Gedicht ist das Galaktoboureko.

Wir sind während der Radtour vorbei gekommen und wollten im Biergarten nur ne Kleinigkeit essen. Wir wurden super freundlich begrüßt. Während unseres Aufenthalts hatten wir immer das Gefühl willkommen zu sein und als Gast gewertschätzt zu werden. Was nicht überall so ist. Das Ambiente im Biergarten ist nett und mit ca. 6 Tischen überschaubar. Drin ist es sehr verwinkelte und wirkt dadurch kleiner als es ist. Die Einrichtung finde ich sehr gemütlich. Mittig ist eine kleine Bar. Außerdem gibt's eine Kegelbahn. Das Essen war wirklich lecker und Preis/Leistung ok

Ich war das erste Mal im Restaurant. Habe griechische Bratwurst mit hausgemachten Kartoffelsalat gegessen. Es war einfach nur lecker. Bin nicht das letzte mal da gewesen.

Perfekt, Tip: vorab bestellen,quer von allen aus der Karte!!!!

Wir haben heute das erste Mal bestellt und abgeholt. Leider waren wir vom Essen mehr als enttäuscht. Die Pommes waren sehr weich und viel zu kurz in der Fritteuse. Das Fleisch dagegen war viel zu lang auf dem Grill. Die Portionsgrösse war zudem sehr klein, vor allem für einen Preis von über 20€ pro Teller. Leider können wir das Essen demnach überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Der Empfang und der Inhaber waren hingegen sehr freundlich.

Sehr gutes Gyros und selbstgemachte Bifteki. Guter und sehr freundlicher Service. Die Küchencrew ist außerdem echt schnell, dh das Essen kommt auch dann schnell, wenn das Restauriert voll ist.

Heute zum ersten Mal hier gewesen und es war ok. Super freundlicher Empfang und top Service. Das Essen war gut und reichlich. Pommes,Gyros, Leber, Suvlaki Spieß, Brot alles sehr sehr gut. Nur die Schweinesteaks und die Leber viel zu zu durch gewesen. Der Vorspeisenteller sollte auch überdacht werden 🤔 Aber man lernt mit seinen Aufgaben. Leider war der zweite Besuch nicht so schön.
