Restaurant Pagoni im Tierpark in Walldorf

The Pagoni is a very popular place for us, especially when it comes to having a good time with the whole family. Located in the Walldorf Zoo, it is the ideal place to spend a few carefree hours with children. While the adults enjoy their meal in peace, the children can explore the zoo or have a nice time in the playground. In summer you also have a very good overview of the playground and parts of the zoo from the terrace. The food is always delicious and special requests are no problem. The owner and his team are incredibly child-friendly and even when there is a lot going on, they always have a few kind words for the children. We have been to Pagoni Essen several times and have always been very satisfied with the quality, quantity and taste of the dishes. I would also like to emphasize that the prices are very fair, in contrast to many other restaurants in the region. We always like to come back!

We wanted to have lunch at the Pagoni restaurant today and drove there specifically. We checked the opening times on the website and Google Maps in advance, only to find out on site that it was closed for the whole of October due to holidays. This is just annoying, especially since it could have been prevented with little effort. Addition to the owner's answer: I'll give you as much vacation as you want, but you should have the decency to inform your customers that the restaurant is closed. Before I set off, I took a special look. Your website literally says “We are open today.” In this respect, the negative rating is absolutely justified. The Facebook page also says "Restaurant open", the business hours were last updated on January 11, 2022, the last posts are from December 2021.

The location is of course great in the middle of a petting zoo, especially for families. Right next to the restaurant is the playground where children can pass the time until the food arrives. The atmosphere in the guest room and on the terrace is very nicely decorated. There are suggestions for improvement for the toilet/changing area. There are calcified flower vases without flowers on the windowsill. There was no toilet paper in the toilet and the changing area was very carelessly furnished (there was only a wooden frame in the toilet anteroom). The food was okay, we paid just over €100 for four people. When washing the steak knives, please make sure that they are dried properly. For us, the water has run out of the knife.

What I said when ordering was coldly ignored and in the end I had to pay for everything that was left open at the regulars' table. It doesn't work that way. The landlord got even more mushy and asked me if he should pay for it. Yes, of course, a bottle of Coke costs about that in the wholesale market. 10-30 cents and later 0.4 l is sold for €4.80. It would definitely be ruinous if a guest only paid for what they ate and drank themselves. When he realized that I wasn't putting up with it, he ran after the others at the regulars' table and found someone who would pay for it. For me it was the last time I saw such behavior.

The 'boss' takes some getting used to...

Location within the Walldorf Zoo is of course great if you have children with you. The food was good, average Greek cuisine, menu too confused for a Greek, not enough Greek dishes, for example souflaki was missing. Price/performance is right. The service was attentive, but there were a few hiccups. Even if you are a group of around 15 people, it is not possible for the first person to be finished by the time the last person has their food and in the meantime other tables get their food. Difficult in bad weather, not too big inside.

The service is horrible. The young man should be replaced. I don't know how someone like that is kept in service. It only does harm and ruins your good reputation. The boss should do something. The kitchen can only be recommended.

My parents were very excited there, which is why four of us were there. The food was so good and the service was just lovely. Great atmosphere. The four of us spent around €70, a very great price for this quality!

Very tasty Greek food. The sirloin skewer was very well seasoned and the meat was not dry. There is a lunch menu. Service is very friendly. The restaurant is in the middle of the small zoo in Walldorf. In summer you can sit on the terrace.

We spontaneously decided to eat in the restaurant or on the terrace below, which is why we pushed two free tables together before the waitress saw us. Instead of greeting us, she asked in a condescending tone if we wanted to eat too or just drink before moving around her patio... Apparently this waitress has had bad experiences in the past. Nevertheless, you shouldn't greet your guests like that. Even when ordering, she still seemed annoyed and condescending and this was also reflected in our behavior towards her! After ordering, when we ordered for over 200 euros, she was overly friendly! Otherwise the kitchen was pretty quick and the food was delicious! Food TOP and service FLOP…

My wife and I called and asked if they had iced coffee - they said yes on the phone. When we were there today and wanted to order the iced coffee, a waitress with poor knowledge of German came. So I waited a moment - then a woman came. When we ordered again - we immediately heard in a dull tone "We don't have that here!" So they said we had called specifically and asked. People immediately interrupted and said, "You certainly didn't drink iced coffee here!" My wife said again: HER colleague said that on the phone that they run the iced coffee, an older man. Then all I got was "He told you rubbish" - no sorry, no goodbye, no anything. They simply took the cards and left. You can't beat it when it comes to impudence. Never again!

Very nice service, excellent food and quick service. Furniture is a bit old with some signs of wear. A tablecloth could hide one thing or another :) and thus enhance the whole experience.

4 adults 3 children We wanted to eat on the terrace, a large table was free, the nice waitress told us if we managed to be ready by 3:15 p.m. because the table had to be free from 4 p.m. 🤬 who did we have to thank for that, the older man who served there 🤬that we didn't get the table Please note the opening times! So we went downstairs for 15 minutes until someone came to order a drink An older gentleman who served us there told us we wanted to order food, the same person who denied us the terrace🤬 We waited and waited for 30 minutes. He had asked everyone else, everything was OK. Would you like something to drink or eat? He ignored us, acted like he was the boss of the restaurant and was just a normal waitress When the nice waitress came and asked us if everything was OK, we informed her what had happened She apologized for it even though she couldn't help it We put 5 euros 💶 on the table for the bottle of water and left I will never visit this restaurant again nor recommend it to others 🤬🤬🤬

The food itself was very tasty, but we were told that it would take about 20-30 minutes to eat. The food only came after a good 1 1/2 hours, although one meal was completely wrong, which is why we had to wait another 20 minutes. There were also guests who came 30-45 minutes later and had their food after 10 minutes. All in all, the food was really good, but the service definitely needs improvement.

The salad dressing was too sour and too salty for me. Ready-made gravy was added to the devil's spit. But the ambience is very nice. The staff was very, very friendly and accommodating.

The food was very, very tasty...

We've been eating there every now and then for a few years now! I'm really satisfied every time. The map is very extensive, which made me a bit suspicious at first... But the food is always really good. The waiters are always very, very nice. I celebrated my children's baptism there last week and I have to say it was wonderful. The one before the meeting with the boss, absolutely fine and quick :) It Everything we had discussed was implemented and more cards were made especially for us. It wasn't a problem to bring the baptism cake... The employees were all incredibly nice! It was Such a beautiful celebration! We all drank, ate until we almost burst, the bill was a surprise, I was expecting much, much more!!!!! I also noticed how nice everyone was The children were there, there were a lot of them and sometimes they were a bit loud with all the children, the orders were mixed up but no one was even remotely annoyed! I absolutely cannot understand the “bad” reviews. The prices are also in my opinion Not overpriced at all, have you checked prices elsewhere? Thank you, thank you and always happy! Great Team ❤️

Very nice cozy restaurant. Very clean. Attentive employees. The lamb grill plate was great. Medium fried, just like we wanted. Fries not greasy. Salad was well seasoned. If you're not put off by the prices, you're in good hands here!

After initially reading several reviews that weren't necessarily positive, I also read one that said that the restaurant today can no longer be compared to what it was 2 years ago. So go and test it. And now I have to stand up for the restaurant and the team. Even though the place was packed, they still managed to free up a table for three people. And they didn't fail to point out to us that the food preparation might take a little longer today. Well, you can adjust to that. Drinks came reasonably quickly. And while I was waiting, I could see that the team worked their hearts out, but still always remained responsive and courteous. The quality of the 3 different dishes was absolutely good, the price/performance ratio is absolutely appropriate. So a visit to a restaurant without any regrets.

Also ich verstehe die schlechten Bewertungen überhaupt nicht,wir waren 6 Personen und jeder fand das Essen lecker und das Personal sehr freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen

Hier stimmt einfach alles, leckeres Essen, das Personal sehr aufmerksam und sympathisch, immer wieder gerne.

Wir waren heute im Tierpark Essen, haben einen Salat, Gegrillte Peperoni und das Max und Moritz (schnitzel&pommes) für Kinder bestellt. Nach 50 Minuten war unser Essen noch nicht fertig obwohl nicht viel los war, Gäste die später kamen wie wir haben ihr essen vor uns bekommen und meine Gegrillten Peperoni sind nie angekommen! Als ich den Kellner darauf ansprach wurde er unfreundlich und sagte ich hätte keine bestellt. Ich hatte das Glück dann selbst mitzubekommen wie bei den Nachbar Tischen ständig Fehler in den Bestellungen war. Fand ich sehr schade weil das essen wirklich gut war 👍🏽

Die Vorspeise war lecker. Der Bauernteller war nix. Fleisch recht blass und der Spieß nicht durchgebraten. Die Präsentation der Speisen ist auch recht einfach gehalten. Service sehr nett. Unterm Strich war der Abend das Geld nicht wert.

Super leckeres griechisches und deutsches Essen, sehr saftig gebratenes Fleisch. Steak, Fisch und Grillfleisch waren auf den Punkt gebraten. Qualität des Essens absolut zu empfehlen.

Wir waren hier nach einem Spaziergang durch den Tierpark was essen. Uns hat es geschmeckt und die Kellner waren auch sehr freundlich! :)

Heute mal ne Kleinigkeit dort im Imbiss essen wollen nachdem wir durch den Tierpark gelaufen sind. Ob der Imbiss zum Restaurant gehört weiß ich nicht, aber das Essen dort war nicht gut. 30 Minuten nach dem verzehr, Magen / Darm Probleme bekommen. Beim Preis / Leistungsverhältnis ist es schon unverschämt und ich empfinde es als abzocke. 1 x Nuggets mit Pommes und Ketchup und 1 Pommes extra mit Majo mit Slush und ein Eis 20 €.

Der Spielplatz neben an war das Beste. Essen Standard. Service war sehr unfreundlich.

Sehr lecker. Das Ambiente durch den Tierpark ist unschlagbar! Der Spielplatz ist direkt nebenan und von den Tischen teilweise einsehbar. Änderungen am Essen (Sonderwünsche) sind problemlos möglich. Gerne wieder!

Zum ersten Mal hier. Essen war ok. Mehr nicht. Gyros leider trocken, Pommes hart. Service unfreundlich. Ambiente war der Tierpark sonst billige in Jahre gekommene Tische und Stühle.

Das Essen war in Ordnung, allerdings war der Service eine Katastrophe..total unfreundliche Bedienung! Wir mussten die Getränke selbst vom Tablett nehmen, wir wurden teilweise ignoriert..der Höhepunkt war, dass wir nachdem wir fertig mit Essen waren, gefragt wurden wann wir denn gehen..obwohl fast alle Tische leer waren.Das nächste mal gehen wir zum Bistro neben an, die waren wenigstens sehr freundlich

Das Lokal ist ein typischer Grieche mit leckerem Essen. Portionen üppig. Das Lokal bietet auch deutsche Küche an. Meine Frau hatte Kalbsleber und war super zufrieden. Mein Gyros war frisch vom Drehspieß und ebenfalls sehr gut Richtig klasse gewürzt und eine große Portion. Der Service schnell und unaufdringlich, obwohl das Lokal ausgebucht war. Eine eindeutige Empfehlung wenn man in Walldorf lecker griechisch Essen gehen will

Soviele Gerichte-alles hat sehr gut geschmeckt! Ein Lob an den Koch! Die Kids hatten danach Ihre Spaß auf dem Spielplatz! Leider war der Zugang zu den Tieren verboten,wegen Vogelgrippe...naja-dann beim nächsten Besuch...

Unser Lieblingsgrieche 🤩 Alle, die sich im Sommer'22 über die personellen Zustände geärgert haben (wir übrigens auch, ich hab mich sogar direkt dort beschwert, das will schon was heißen), sollten diesem Restaurant und dem jetzigen Team unbedingt noch eine zweite Chance geben! Mitten im Tierpark und neben einem tollen Spielplatz gelegen, ist es auch absolut familienfreundlich. Dank des Tierparks gibt es auch zahlreiche Parkplätze. Wir kommen gerne und regelmäßig hierher und essen immer ausgezeichnet dort.

Sehr leckeres griechisches Essen, entspannte Atmosphäre. Sehr geeignet auch für Kinder, mit dem Tierpark in der Nähe und einem Spielplatz. Dazu genügend Parkplätze.

Das Essen sah bei anderen gut aus, daher noch 2 Sterne. Mein Essen kam erst falsch an, dann wurde es mir angeblich neu gebracht. Es fanden sich Reste, der vorher ungewünschten Zutat. Kann zwar verstehen, dass man Lebensmittel nicht wegschmeißen möchte, allerdings sollte man es nicht von einem Teller kratzen und im neuen mit Soße übergießen und hoffen, dass der Gast nichts merkt. Der Koch kam danach an den Tisch, hatte aber leider keine Entschuldigung parat. Echt schade, anscheinend gutes Essen, aber für Allergiker oder Leute die manche Lebensmittel nicht mögen, denen wird es doch (versteckt) aufgetischt...

Sehr nette Bedienung! Trotz sehr großer Karte schmecken die Gerichte frisch und gut. Restaurant ist im Tierpark im Wald, mit großem Spielplatz und im Sommer kann man auf der Terrasse sitzen.
