Ausgezeichnete Küche...Schwertfischfilet mit Polenta und Gemüse. Fisch perfekt gegart. Polenta locker, lecker mit feiner Zitrusnote. Knackiges Gemüse in einer aromatischen Tomatensauce. Sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service. Ein bißchen Frankreich in Regensburg!

Wir haben zwei Mittagsmenu bestellt, die je Wasser, Wein, Vorspeise, Hauptgang und Espresso o.ä umfassen. Nach Abräumen der Teller der Hauptspeise teilte man uns mit, die Kaffeemaschine sei Kaputt. Wir könnten statt dessen noch ein Wasser bekommen. Unsere Bitte, uns stattdessen ein Nachtisch zu servieren wurde abgelehnt. Selbst als wir vorschlugen, statt zweier Nachtische auch mit einem zum Teilen zufrieden zu sein argumentierte der Chef und lehnte es als unfair ab. Fair wäre gewesen uns schon bei der Bestellung darauf hinzuweisen, das die Kaffeemaschine kaputt sei. Guter Service sieht in meinen Augen anders aus.

Mal wieder super im Orphee. Am Samstagmittag waren wir mal wieder im Orphee, wie eigentlich jeden Samstag Mittag. Die Atmosphäre ist einfach immer richtig nett, die Bedienung super freundlich und das Essen super gut. Danke an das Team vom Orphee für diese tolle Leistung seit langen Jahrzehnten.

Unser gestriger Abend im Orphée war super. Alle Gerichte – von der fruchtig-frischen Erdbeer-Gazpacho über das großartige Bœuf Bourguignon bis zu den Desserts (Pavlowa und Éclaire) – waren auf absolutem Top-Niveau. Der Service war dabei beispielhaft: aufmerksam und freundlich, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Ein rundum gelungener Besuch, wir kommen ganz sicher wieder und werden das Orphée auch weiterempfehlen.

Absolute Spitzenklasse. Hier stimmt alles. Absolute Empfehlung!!

Kalbsreis, Suppe und ein Hefeweizen für 43 €. Das Essen ist gut. Der Service ist langsam und desinteressiert, und ich hoffe, das war auch schon alles. Ich war an einem Dienstag dort, da tat die Kellnerin wenigstens so, als ob es sie kümmerte. Ich will nicht sagen, dass man nicht hingehen sollte. Man sollte nur seine Erwartungen etwas herunterschrauben oder vielleicht woanders hingehen.

Das Ambiente ist natürlich super. So wie vor 30 Jahren bereits. Der Service lässt aber zu wünschen übrig. Unaufmerksam, langsam. Und dann kommt der Kellner mit nem Tablett Kaffees und quatscht erstmal mit nem Stammgastpärchen, statt die Kaffees auszuliefern. A pro pos Kaffee: den fand ich nicht besonders. Einfach zu dünn. Insgesamt Schade.

Zuerst auf den Wochenmarkt, dann Bummel durch Regensburg, dazwischen frühstücken im Orphee: eine Anleitung für einen perfekten Start ins Pfingstwochenende. Das Frühstück war wahrlich luxuriös! Meine Frau und ich haben es sehr genossen. Das Ambiente ist sowieso traumhaft, die Servicekräfte sind höflich und aufmerksam und die Preise moderat. Mehr ist nirgends möglich! Wir jedenfalls freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch dort; es muss ja auch nicht immer Frühstück sein.

Sehr gute französische Gerichte und auch bei vollem Restaurant bekamen wir einen vorzüglichen Service.

Tolles französisches Restaurant. Toller Essen, Fleisch, Fisch, vegetarisch. Alles lecker, besonders die Schnecken. Super Service. Auch mit Kind kein Problem.

Wir hatten das Entrecôte - ein Gedicht von Fleisch mit gutem Wein und tollem Sitzplatz direkt im Leben an der Fußgängerzone.

Meine Freundinnen und ich waren zum frühstücken dort. Wir haben draußen einen Platz bekommen. Für 5 Leute ist es etwas eng, da es nur Tische für 2-3 gibt, aber es war kein Problem die zusammenzustellen. Das Personal ist freundlich, aber wirkte manchmal etwas verwirrt. Das Frühstück hat ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Tolles Lokal in der Innenstadt, Top Franz. Kulinarik, nette Bedienung, sowohl im Lokal wie auch Outdoor sehr nett.

Enttäuschung. Reservierung vergessen. Kein Vollkorn Baguette, vertrockneter Scheibenkäse. Und das zum Geburtstag

Essen teuer, gut aber nicht weltbewegend. Ich bin 1,90m groß und konnte nicht bequem sitzen an dieser Art Tische. Zudem war der Tisch fast zu klein für vier Personen und deren Gedecke plus Essen. Das Ambiente ist an sich gemütlich.

Diese Bewertung bezieht sich auf das Café. Wir hatten einen freien Platz, der nicht reserviert war, und tranken unseren Café mit Croissant. Wenig später kam eine Bedienung und meinte, wir müssten den Tisch räumen, er wäre nun reserviert. Wir waren recht baff. So etwas Unfreundliches erlebt man ja noch nicht einmal in irgendwelchen Hyperrstaurants. Jedenfalls ist dieser Umgang mit seinen Gästen für das Café Orphee höchst unwürdig.

Für mich eines der besten Restaurants von Regensburg! Ich liebe die Zwiebelsuppe, das Steak Madagaskar und das Mousse au chocolat, aber auch das Frühstück ist hervorragend. Super schönes französisches Ambiente und auch Plätze, um draußen zu sitzen.

Sehr unfreundlich, wir haben nichts bekommen. Obwohl wir gefragt haben, ob Platz für uns ist, wurde behauptet, dass wir nicht gefragt hätten. Wir wurden nicht bedient und sehr unfreundlich behandelt. Das Personal wirkte extrem überfordert. Das habe ich so noch nie erlebt! Ich werde diese Location nie wieder besuchen.

Wir hatten einen genussvollen Abend im Restaurant Orphee. Trotz der langen Öffnungszeiten war keine Spur von Stress zu verspüren. Wir kommen gerne wieder...

Hervorragendes Frühstück deluxe. Besonders die Fisch Varianten waren sehr lecker und die Basilikum Creme ist ein Traum.

Komme seit 10 Jahren auch immer sn meinem Geburtstag hierher, obwohl ich in Nürnberg und meine Gäste in München wohnen. Es lohnt sich: alles super !!!

Schönes Restaurant mit sehr guten Essen in top Lage! Update 2026: Leider sind die Portionen nicht mehr so groß. Musste trotz der Hauptspeise nochmal etwas weiteres bestellen, damit ich satt werde. Schade… An einem Samstag Abend spontan für 2 Personen einen Tisch bekommen. Service war sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Zur Vorspeise hatten wir drei verschiedene Aufstriche mit einem Brotkorb. Hier hat uns vor allem der Hummus geschmeckt. Die anderen zwei Aufstriche waren aber definitiv nicht weniger gut. Als Hauptspeise gab es zwei mal den gegrillten Oktopus mit getrüffelten Parmesan-Pommes. Ein absolut zu empfehlendes Gericht! Der Oktopus war perfekt gegrillt, die Pommes kross. Ich bin hier auch schon mehrere Male zum Frühstück gewesen. Dabei macht man hier auch nichts falsch. Man bekommt alles was das Herz begehrt. Sitzen kann man im Orphée entweder in der Gasse, im Innenhof oder drinnen. Es ist für jeden was dabei. Zu empfehlen ist im Sommer ein Sitzplatz in der Gasse. So hat man die Möglichkeit, beim Essen auch noch die vorbeiziehenden Leute zu beobachten.

Ich wünschte, wir hätten dieses Restaurant schon vor Jahren entdeckt. Exzellenter Service, hervorragende Qualität und eine großartige Auswahl, besonders für Liebhaber der französischen Küche wie mich.

Der studentische Herr Ober kommt inmitten der Nahrungsaufnahme zum Abkassieren und ist nur schwer davon zu überzeugen, dass Mann / Frau erst die sowieso nur lauwarme Quiche aufessen möchte. Als Argumentation werden Schichtwechsel, seine Anwesenheit seit 08:00 Uhr wie auch „dass das immer so gemacht werde“ ins Feld geführt. Naja…

Das beste Essen, das ich je genießen durfte. Vorspeise, Hauptgang und Dessert – einfach exquisit. Ich komme wieder.

War schon öfter hier, jetzt muss ich das Orphee endlich mal bewerten. Es ist alles sehr lecker. Ich habe das Frühstück, das Mittagsmenü und abends auch hier gegessen. Es war immer köstlich, für die Qualität seinen Preis wert und das Ambiente ist unschlagbar toll. Man is(s)t hier wie Gott in Frankreich.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal da, im vorderen Teil kann man frühstücken und Kaffeetrinken, weiter hinten ist das Bistro/Restaurant. An der Bar wird auch Kaffee getrunken und ein Blick in die Zeitung geworfen . Das Frühstück war lecker , das Ambiente sehr schön. Man kann nicht immer reservieren, sollten es am Samstag auf gut Glück probieren und es hat geklappt. Wir sind nicht gerade die schlankesten Gäste. Die Zweiertische waren recht eng gestellt. Wir durften aber dann an einen Vierertisch. Wir kommen sicher nochmal wieder um das Restaurant zu versuchen

A regular feature of my visits to Regensburg! And the best part is – nothing changes – and that's a good thing! In this fast-paced world of restaurants, it's an oasis – almost like coming home.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Regensburg. I go there as often as possible. From the moment you arrive, you feel like you're in a café in France. The ambiance is beautiful and cozy. In the summer, you can sit outside like in Paris, with all the tables facing the pedestrian zone. In the winter, the tastefully decorated restaurant offers a wonderful atmosphere. The service is friendly and attentive. A particularly charming touch: you can always go to the bar and grab a quick coffee at a slightly reduced price. As for the food: whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you'll always find something to suit your taste. I highly recommend the Coq au Vin: incredibly tender meat, a delicious sauce, and creamy, rich mashed potatoes. The three spreads served as an appetizer are also a great way to start, especially with fresh baguette. For a lighter meal or a quick lunch, there are excellent, more affordable options like the tomato soup, the quiche of the day, or a salad. Orphée is priced in the upper-middle range, which is something to keep in mind. However, the quality and atmosphere justify the cost in most cases. One final tip: The oyster bar is definitely worth a visit during the Christmas season.

We had a reservation for six people starting at 6:00 PM. During the booking process, we were informed that the seating time was between 6:00 and 8:00 PM, which seemed fine at first. The four of us arrived on time and ordered drinks and small appetizers. Unfortunately, our "main guests," who had traveled a long way, were delayed due to traffic jams and then having to find parking. To avoid having to eat separately, we waited to order our main courses. From 7:00 PM onwards, we were repeatedly reminded that we had to vacate the table by 8:00 PM. First, the friendly young waitress said this in a polite tone, which was fine. Then, the owner reminded us in such an annoyed tone that any hope of returning with an order for six main courses and drinks was quickly dashed. There was no attempt to find a suitable alternative location for us. With our late arrivals (who had even booked two rooms at the hotel), we ended up eating elsewhere in Regensburg, where it was more pleasant. It's a shame; I had better memories of the Orphee from previous visits. The food may be very good, but this strict seating time policy is unpleasant. "It's not what you say, it's how you say it..." Yesterday, it was anything but harmonious.

Absolutely fantastic. Not exactly cheap, but worth the price. French cuisine.

For me, the most beautiful restaurant in Regensburg, with a unique French charm. Breakfast is excellent, as is the lunch menu, and of course, the oyster bar during the pre-Christmas season...

Dive right into the hustle and bustle! A truly authentic bistro atmosphere awaits, filled with happy guests who love to chat, attentive waitresses, and above all, delicious, unpretentious French-inspired food for gourmets and gourmands. Open wines and reasonable prices are enticing. The feeling of pure bliss is genuine; we'll be back!

The ambiance is really great, the service was really bad and very impersonal; the appetizer was very good, but unfortunately the main course was not.

The food is excellent! It's crowded and noisy in the evenings, so you can barely hear your partner. Be prepared to reserve a table only for a specific time, and then you'll be asked to leave, no matter how many times you order. We reserved a table for two hours. We had to leave after that, without even having time to order dessert.

The staff is friendly. The food is delicious and well worth the price. We ordered appetizers first and found them to be truly worth the money—there were many different things on one plate, so there was a good selection to try.

We were there for my husband's birthday. The food was great, the service was excellent and very attentive, and at the end of the meal, the restaurant served a wonderful surprise.

We had chicken in red wine sauce and salmon tartare with tuna mousse. We also had beer and hot lemon juice. The food was incredibly delicious! The service was very friendly. The space between the tables wasn't that big, but the interior was very nice and stylish.

As a Frenchwoman who grew up in Paris, I was delighted to find this little piece of France in the lovely city of Regensburg. The atmosphere truly feels like Paris in the 1940s/50s. They even have French newspapers (such as Le Canard Enchaîné), and both the coffee and croissants are really good. It’s the perfect spot for breakfast, and I can’t wait to come back to Regensburg to try their lunch formula !

The food is delicious, but the service was a complete disaster: unfriendly, unfocused, and sloppy! When clearing plates, the leftover food was dumped in our laps without any comment from the waiter! Simply disgraceful!

The service was okay, except for the person who assigned us a table. Our greeting was, "Table only until 8 p.m." No hello or good afternoon. The food wasn't what you'd expect from a French restaurant. Octopus was cheesy and overpriced. The ambiance was nice.

A beautiful café-restaurant in the heart of the old town – great ambiance and friendly staff, and the quality is also very good. One star deducted for two things: the prices are quite high, and – even more crucial for me – the beer is unfortunately only available in 0.4-liter glasses. This is unusual and incomprehensible at the price of a regular "half-liter." Otherwise, great!

Excellent, we tried the onion soup, the cheeses, the vegetarian and beef options. The food is (a bit) pricier but totally worth it and the service was very nice also. What makes this places special is the atmosphere, it feels just like a bistro in France. 100% recommended!

I can’t believe this place isn’t packed with people! Just outside the tourist zone Orphee is a treat for the senses. This quaint restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere in a quiet district with exceptional food. Even better it is set up somewhat family style with share plates. A fusion of fresh ingredients with some Japanese flavors and French tradition. And the wine choice is perfect. It’s a must do in Paris! Our server was an absolute joy and we let him choose all our dishes and he didn’t disappoint. Don’t miss this treat !

I went there with my girlfriend to eat oysters, and it was a delight. Everything was delicious, and the wines were equally magnificent.

Expected something better, the vibe wasn't very friendly. The food was okay, but not amazing. The creme brulee though, was great. The chairs were old-fashioned style, which is great for the image for the restaurant, but not comfortable enough unfortunately.

A very nice place for a leisurely breakfast. The service was excellent, the breakfast selection was very good, and the ambiance was rustic. We felt very comfortable and can recommend the Orphée.

The ambiance is unique; I don't know of any other restaurant-café in Germany where you feel as transported to France as this one. The restaurant offers French classics, down-to-earth cuisine without any frills. The newspaper selection is also very good for a café.

Délicieux ! Merci ! We spent a wonderful evening. We felt like in a Bistrot in Paris - except for the language, though 😉 The waitress was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. We had Coq au vin, boeuf Bourguignon, and a tasty, juicy entrecôte - 3 classiques de la cuisine française - all 3 dishes were delicious! Unfortunately, you don't often get coq au vin and bœuf bourguignon this good anymore even in France... The wine selection is good too.

There's no comparable restaurant in Regensburg, neither in style nor in service, perhaps in the food, but the overall experience is unique. And: I've known it for years. The service changed in 2023. It was already great before, but now there's even more friendliness, which takes everything to another level. Please don't elevate it any further, or we'll end up in heaven!

A piece of France in the heart of Regensburg A visit to the Orphée restaurant is like a mini-journey to Paris – without leaving the train station. The atmosphere is charming and full of character: subdued lighting, French chansons playing in the background, and lovingly set tables.

We went in for lunch at 2:50 PM, asked if there was a table, and were told to sit wherever we wanted. As soon as we arrived, we asked two different waiters where the bathroom was (meaning, in 5 minutes, there were already three people who knew we were there). At 3:08 PM, a waiter approached our table where we were reading (and translating the menu because, if they have it in any language other than German, they never brought it to us) and told us the kitchen had closed at 3:00 PM and that they wouldn't serve us anymore. When we tried to explain that we'd been there for a while and no one had come over to ask us about our drinks, and that of course no one had told us the kitchen was closing, they told us we'd hidden (we were sitting at the first table with a tablecloth) and that if we had sat in front of them, they would have served us. Shameful, that's not how people are treated. Lack of communication, lack of empathy and lack of manners...that's not how you run a restaurant.

Great lil bar and restaurant that is downstairs from our hotel. Staff is very friendly, lots of variety on the menu for breakfast and dinner. Good cold beer, would definitely recommend the local lager they sell.

I love brunch at Orphée as there is a wide range of different breakfast options (personal recommendation the Marseille and the muesli with strawberry puree) - but you have to be a bit lucky to get a seat as the café doesn't take reservations. There are also great French dishes to choose from at lunch and dinner - the atmosphere is also really nice. In terms of price it is a bit more expensive there but in my opinion it is definitely worth it.

After 30 years of visiting the restaurant with always good experiences, now extremely disappointed. Only two hours are allowed for family dinners! No thanks. We always consume well and are now reserving elsewhere.Sorry!

It was delicious! We were there for lunch and had the daily special (risotto with asparagus and truffles), as well as a cream cheese crepe and onion soup. The staff was very friendly and tried hard, even though it was very busy.

The food is okay, but unfortunately the prices are a bit too high. The service is friendly but unfortunately far too slow. I waited 20 minutes for a glass of rosé.

L'Orphée is definitely the restaurant that is plus French or nous avons mangé en dehors de la France! - Et nous avons très bien mangé! An all-round stylish place to eat well and have lively conversations with the table next to you - it becomes even nicer when you can then fall into a comfortable bed in one of the beautiful rooms in the hotel, full, happy and full of spirit.)

While looking for a restaurant we discovered this oasis and felt like we were in France. Even though we didn't have a reservation and it was very busy, we were warmly welcomed and given a nice table. The dishes were excellent and the service was very charming. We felt very comfortable there and will definitely come back when we are in Regensburg. Absolute recommendation!
