An authentic French brasserie located in the heart of Regensburg is kinda surprising but a welcome one. The food here is solid and classics like escargots, beef bourguignon and bouillabaisse are well executed and the you setting is also warm and comfortable. Prices are certainly on the higher end for the quality but it’s not bad for a once in a while visit

Nice restaurant with a lot of charm. However, it was a bit cold when we were there and the staff was a bit overwhelmed because there was a lot of crowds.

We spent a very nice and pleasant evening in a group of five (plus dog). Service was perfect, the food was extremely tasty. Highly recommended!

French flair in Regensburg - very nice, great quality and nice service.

For €6.20 a pot of hot milk with cocoa powder instead of real hot chocolate was something I thought was cheeky.

On Saturday evening we sat outside in the backyard, directly under the ventilation in a place for 2 people. The tables here were very close together, which we found slightly annoying. The service was very friendly and super accommodating. The dishes we chose were the grilled octopus (34.80 euros) and the bouillabaisse (21 euros). The latter in the starter version. The prices on the menu published on the internet no longer correspond to those in the restaurant. Conclusion: The fish in the fish soup was delicious. That was to the point. However, for the price we missed the variety a bit. The octopus was also on point and so were the homemade fries. However, the truffle was definitely saved here. Conclusion: The food was good, but not so much that we would say "... next time we are in Regensburg we will go again". I actually expected more for the price.

The Orphee in the beautiful old town of Regensburg has been one of my favorite restaurants for almost 40 years. The decor is so beautiful, the food is really great, nice music in the background, the service staff is very friendly and quick and everything is super clean. I can only recommend it.

There is no such thing as French: everything works here! Great hosts, the food fell from heaven. France in the middle of a great German city. A very emotional experience.

Cozy place to sit on the terrace. Service was okay. We forgot water when we asked for a refill. The crepe that my daughter ordered had very little sugar on it and was quite dry. Not really tasty. Drinks are also fine and the street is very pleasant on a summer evening.

V-2024: Top 🙏 Prices have increased, like everywhere else 🤷🏻‍♂️ Service sometimes with a tendency to almost Berlin snooty 🤷🏻‍♂️ Quality is still optimal 👌// You good old days à la Parisienne 😊 in the middle of the Upper Palatinate! Best French-oriented cuisine in a café or restaurant. Excellent in everything that tickles the palate and pleases the stomach. The service is sometimes almost Berlin-like in itself - well, as long as there are more guests than seats, that's okay... That doesn't detract almost at all from the enjoyment of this oasis of good taste in the middle of Regensburg 😎 - from early to late, whether a quick espresso at the counter for €1, breakfast, a small lunch, afternoon coffee or an opulent evening meal: always excellent and always worth a detour! And the fact that it is possible to eat chakchouka and read the Jüdische Allgemeine here is magical. May this always remain possible in this peaceful environment! Oh yes: unfortunately expensive - but always worth the price 😊

I used to often eat and drink coffee there because of the special atmosphere. The atmosphere has remained, but the food and service have become significantly worse. Service: Certainly there will be a lot going on on some days, but the staff should not take this out on the guests and a possible understaffing in the staff area should not be the guest's problem. You are no longer greeted and do not immediately feel welcome. As a guest, it is often difficult to speak to a service employee and be assigned the reserved table. This is actually one of the basics in a well-run restaurant. If you come with smaller children, you will e.g. T. pointed out very harshly that a child's buggy was not wanted, even though there was enough space at the time. We left again for the same reason! There is still a lot of room for improvement when it comes to eating. In the past there was mainly typical French bistro food, today it's more like food that you can get in any restaurant. But the Coq au Vin, which is always well prepared, deserves special mention. Conclusion: Maybe you should return to the old virtues of typical French cuisine and have a serious conversation with the service staff. You don't necessarily have to adopt the habits of the waiters on the Champs Élysées who only serve “1 x tourist”.

The food was delicate and of excellent quality. The service was very attentive, polite and friendly. The ambience, flair and furnishings have been known and rightly recognized for decades.

I've been a big fan of the Orphee so far. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by the inability and inflexibility of not wanting or being able to host a wedding party of 20 people for two hours on a Friday lunchtime!

One of the best restaurants in Regensburg!

I actually only ever go there for breakfast because I just like the ambience and the alley. There is always something to watch. I like to eat strawberry Bircher muesli or simple scrambled eggs. That's always good. I don't eat the shakshuka there anymore because it reminds me more of ratatouille and I just make it too often at home. The service is very variable, from very good and friendly to a bit arrogant, in my opinion. Maybe it's the philosophy, as the service staff in Paris tend to be a bit condescending. The restaurant simply scores with its uniqueness. Point. And I just love the green coffee dishes.

The Boeuf Bourguignon was delicious! The salad was good as well but had too much dressing. A bit pricy but worth it. The staff were nice and the food came very quickly. A great place to sit outside on a nice evening.

The worst steak I've ever eaten. I gave the restaurant a chance twice in 2024. I had the feeling that steak was marinated in water for 4 hours and simply had no taste at all. I got the waiter and another (unfortunately incompetent person) and he responded with a shrug of his shoulders. The lamb wasn't any better either. I will never go there again and I would advise any foodie not to be fooled by the atmosphere!!! I would definitely be ashamed to present something like that to my guests.

The Orphée is simply a classic - whether you want to eat, have a glass of wine or just enjoy a quick "petit noir au bar". Always a special atmosphere! And the staff is one of the best in Regensburg! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😁

Original French bistro in the middle of Regensburg. Definitely worth a visit.

We had bouillabaisse, grilled octopus, and lamb chops. Everything was absolutely delicious! Service was attentive but not overbearing, and lovely smiles of all the servers were so delightful! Would definitely recommend it.

Oh yes, finally a cappuccino and a glass of wine outside at the street tables. Study a little and observe people, just like you did 25 years ago. Tres bien, tres bien!

Super tasty food and good wines in a great atmosphere

The menu signals a reliable bistro program from onion soup to snails and Nice salad to coq au vin and lamb chops. The starters, such as the “au gratinated scallops” (17.80 euros), clearly bring to mind France – and also one or two famous brasseries in the capital. People don't go to such traditional establishments primarily because of the culinary quality, but rather because of the overall experience, which also includes the guests. An empty bistro is not a bistro and this one is always busy. You'll be happy to come back, also because of the good location right in the heart of the old town.

Everything was incredibly delicious, whether the selection of cheeses or Parisian veal steak or grilled octopus, not forgetting the delicious desserts - creme brulee and pavlova (soooo good), the service was friendly and attentive, the ambience was great anyway - we would also give it more stars than five !!!

Dear employees, My wife and I go to your house regularly, mostly to enjoy the lunch menu. And so far we have (almost) always gone home completely satisfied. Unfortunately not today. We also didn't have the opportunity to comment because it's always hectic, which is completely logical, and there's hardly any time to ask questions during the payment process (i.e. the quality of the food) and who actively goes to the bar and writes a text ........ I didn't today at lunchtime, but now I find the time (which I would have already had while paying). The “Steamed Skrei etc.” was good, the problem, if one can present it as a problem at all, was the "light veal ragout, etc." Namely because the sugar snap pea side dish was rather limited in numbers and the meat simply didn't live up to expectations. And the worst thing (complaining at a high level, but you're already paying a good 60 euros) was the watery environment in which everything was floating, regarding the ragour. Nevertheless: we love the restaurant, will serve it again in the future and only regret that we were not able to comment directly on our dining experience, i.e. live. Because otherwise I would have had 15 minutes more free time. I definitely have to add something: obviously there is a cooking team that rotates with another. One week brilliant card, other week... oh well. Best regards, all GOOD, but some things........

I'm actually a fan of this cute restaurant and, as a Regensburg resident, I've been there several times. I wanted to give my guests this pleasure for my son's communion and booked seats very early, which were also promised to me. Three weeks before communion I received a call that only breakfast was being offered due to a lack of staff. Please what? Communion is on a Sunday, so it won't be easy to find a suitable location. Thank you very much for this - in my opinion this behavior is a complete disgrace. My husband has often recommended this restaurant to business partners for dinner and overnight stays. We will no longer do that from now on. I'm really upset!!!

Unique shop, nice for brunch or dinner. One of the best tomato soup I've ever eaten :) a bit difficult as a vegetarian but you can always find 1-2 dishes, but there could be more. Even if it's a little louder, we like the charm 😊 Service has taken a little longer several times now, especially in the afternoon.

Yes, so far it's ok. but I think it's a bit overrated. The ambience is quite simple and nostalgic. The Crepe Suzette was really very good.

We spent one night in Regensburg and stayed at the Orphee Hotel. We had booked an arrangement with an overnight stay and dinner in the Orphee Restaurant. It was a lovely evening all around, which began with an aperitif, continued with a two-course meal including water and a bottle of wine and ended with an espresso. The service was excellent and pleasant. The atmosphere felt like we were in Paris and the breakfast rounded off our short vacation perfectly. Thank you Orphee

Regensburg veteran A must if you stop by Regensburg

Fantastic! The staff was very lovely. There was a lot going on and yet everyone was friendly and in a good mood. If you had any questions you got answers like “of course” and “very gladly” which was just nice again. We had snails and scallops as a starter. Unbelievable good! Highly Recommended! The main course was also great. Priced higher but absolutely worth the price. Really highly recommended all around.

We went there for breakfast twice. Delicious breakfasts & friendly staff. The only thing that bothers me a little is that there is so little fruit or vegetables on the breakfasts. The dips & spreads are super delicious. Personally, I don’t think the “paper” tablecloths are that great. But overall a good place for breakfast.

We asked for a nice place for the two of us for our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. Very friendly and attentive staff, hospitable and cozy atmosphere and very good food. Thank you very much, we'll be happy to come back.

Liebevoll eingerichtetes Lokal, das ein Gefühl von Frankreich erweckt. Gutes Frühstück. Leider gab es ab 15.04 Uhr keine Speisen mehr aus der Küche. Schön, wäre es wenn man reservieren kann. Um das Frankreichfeeling zu perfektionieren, gab es sogar einen Kellner mit französischem Akzent. Toll. Geheimtipp: Hinterste Toilette ansehen.

Essen war 100% nur leider der Service nicht ! Die Bedienung hat uns nach 2Std Aufenthalt von den Plätzen verscheucht. Sowas hatten wir bisher noch nie erlebt. Das macht das Restaurant leider sehr unsympathisch:(

Ein stilvolles Restaurant in französischer Atmosphäre. Sehr gute Küche und Service. Ein sehr gemütliches, engeres Beisammensein wie es für Frankreich üblich ist. Die Speisekarte ist französisch-deutsch und bietet einiges.

War da zum Frühstück, ist gut besucht auch am morgen. Sehr schönes Ambiente und wirkt wie vor 100 Jahren. Portionen und Tische könnten etwas größer sein.

Traditionelles Französisches Restaurant im Herzen von Regensburg. Man fühlt sich wie in Frankreich. Sehr gut gemacht. Wir hatten Schnecken als Vorspeise und das Rindfleisch in Rotweinsauce als Hauptgericht. Phantastisch.

Sind seit Jahren immer vor Weihnachten hier, und immer wieder begeistert. Alle Gerichte hier sind voll empfehlenswert, schmecken top, nur weiter so! 😋👌🏻 Ich empfehle die sehr leckere Zwiebelsuppe mit herrlichem Käse, die Bouillabaisse mit viel Einlage, das saftige Entrecôte mit Sauce Bernaise, das Coq au Vin, die Creme Brulé, die Mousse au Chocolat etc. 🤤 Ja, es ist hier hochpreisig, aber die Qualität stimmt. Der Service ist gut, könnte aber a bissl aufmerksamer sein, insbesondere was leere Gläser/ Getränkebestellungen betrifft. Auf alle Fälle wieder! Für die Bewertung des Hotels gibt es übrigens eine separaten Google-Ort namens "Hotel Orphée". ☝🏻

Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Es hat nicht lange gedauert bis wir bedient wurden und auch bis das Essen kam. Die Hauptgänge waren sehr lecker. Die Crêpes Suzette waren ebenfalls lecker, das einige was uns etwas enttäuscht hat war das Eis. Alles in allem aber sehr zu empfehlen.

Buen ambiente, buen servicio. Un buen entrante de caracoles. Pero lamentablemente al llegar al plato principal, en mi caso un Entrecôte, no pude disfrutar totalmente de la experiencia, pues para cortar la carne medio hecha, estaba servido con un cuchillo pata untar, un mal chiste pues no había de ningún otro tipo. Para un plato de 31,80€ me parece de mal gusto. No repetiría.

Ich bin jetzt schon zum zweiten Mal im Orphée essen gewesen, und es war beide Male herausragend. Die Gerichte sind ausgezeichnet gekocht, der Service ist freundlich und das Ambiente ist schön. Ich werde wieder kommen.

War schön, aber habe mir aufgrund der Bewertungen mehr erhofft. Einrichtung ist schön. Service hat halt seine Arbeit gemacht, aber alles eher neutral. Kuchen waren sehr unterschiedlich gut. Wäre jetzt nicht meine erste Wahl in Regensburg.

Auch als Frau alleine ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen. Es gibt verschiedene Zeitungen.... :)

Was soll man da sagen. Einfach nur super. Wir waren hier schon über Nacht. Tolle Zimmer und für das Hotel dementsprechend eingerichtet. Wir sind hier auch mal öfters zum frühstücken. Ich muss sagen hier stimmt die Qualität. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne hier her. Vor allem das Ambiente der Stadt Regensburg ist immer wieder einen Besuch wert.

Essen sehr gut. Ambiente sehr gut. Bedienung freundlich. Tische und stühle stehen sehr eng nebeneinander. Selbst als normalgewichtiger Mensch hat man Schwierigkeiten sich da durch zu schlängeln. Ein bis zwei Tische weniger wären angenehmer.

Bellissimo luogo dove poter cenare, i piatti sono squisiti e ben equilibrato, soprattutto i secondi. Mi è piaciuto molto che il pane fosse sempre presente in tavola e di buona qualità. Le ragazze sono molto gentili e disponibili. Lo consiglio vivamente

Hatte hier für ein Klassentreffen einen Tisch reserviert. INES unsere Bedienung ist einzigartig!!! Trotz vollem Restaurant war sie unheimlich freundlich und kompetent. Essen war prima und wir alle sehr zufrieden. Diejenigen von uns, die im Hotel übernachtet haben, haben ebenfalls nur positives berichtet. Also Daumen hoch für dieses tolle Unternehmen

Vornweg: Das Essen war wundervoll. Dem Küchenteam kann man nichts vorwerfen. Hübsch angerichtet, fein abgeschmeckt. Eine schöne Mittagskarte, eine wundervolle Komposition. Danke dafür! ABER: Leider wirft der Service einen langen Schatten über das gute Essen. Kein Lächeln, kein Bitte oder Danke, Bestellungen werden wie Lasten mit einem Augenrollen quittiert, der Gast wird ignoriert. Wir haben uns über 30 Minuten mehrfach du winken und Ansprechen bemerkbar gemacht, während andere Gäste abkassiert und Tische abgeräumt wurden, wurde man ignoriert. Woran es lag, wissen wohl nur die beiden Damen selbst. Der zum Menü gehörende Kaffee, um den wir freundlich baten, wurde mit einem weiteren Augenrollen serviert, die Zahlung mit Karte durch eine spontan weglaufende Servicekraft unterbrochen, ohne Erklärung. Es hätte so schön sein können. Leider mussten wir durch das Gebaren der beiden Damen mehr Zeit in dem Restaurant verbringen als wir wollten.

Sehr schönes und atmosphärisches Café/Restaurant in der Altstadt von Regensburg. Hatte einen Crêpes mit Spinat und Käse. Sehr lecker.

Die Lobeshymnen der vorherigen Bewertungen kann ich nicht teilen. Verstaubt, dunkel, eng muss ein französisches Bistro nicht sein. Der Crêpe war in Ordnung, ohne Garnitur wirkte er recht lieblos. Preis und Leistung stimmen nicht, man bezahlt wohl den guten Namen aus vergangenen Zeiten mit.
