We had chicken in red wine sauce and salmon tartare with tuna mousse. We also had beer and hot lemon juice. The food was incredibly delicious! The service was very friendly. The space between the tables wasn't that big, but the interior was very nice and stylish.

A very beautiful, stylish restaurant. The food is a dream and tastes truly delicious. The service is very attentive, yet not overly intrusive; simply superbly pleasant. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant, even though it's on the higher end of the price range.

As a Frenchwoman who grew up in Paris, I was delighted to find this little piece of France in the lovely city of Regensburg. The atmosphere truly feels like Paris in the 1940s/50s. They even have French newspapers (such as Le Canard Enchaîné), and both the coffee and croissants are really good. It’s the perfect spot for breakfast, and I can’t wait to come back to Regensburg to try their lunch formula !

The food is delicious, but the service was a complete disaster: unfriendly, unfocused, and sloppy! When clearing plates, the leftover food was dumped in our laps without any comment from the waiter! Simply disgraceful!

One star deducted for two things: the prices are quite high, and – even more crucial for me – the beer is unfortunately only available in 0.4-liter glasses. The service was okay, except for the person who assigned us a table. Our greeting was, "Table only until 8 p.m." No hello or good afternoon. The food wasn't what you'd expect from a French restaurant. Octopus was cheesy and overpriced. The ambiance was nice.

I can’t believe this place isn’t packed with people! Just outside the tourist zone Orphee is a treat for the senses. This quaint restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere in a quiet district with exceptional food. Even better it is set up somewhat family style with share plates. A fusion of fresh ingredients with some Japanese flavors and French tradition. And the wine choice is perfect. It’s a must do in Paris! Our server was an absolute joy and we let him choose all our dishes and he didn’t disappoint. Don’t miss this treat !

I went there with my girlfriend to eat oysters, and it was a delight. Everything was delicious, and the wines were equally magnificent.

A very nice place for a leisurely breakfast. The service was excellent, the breakfast selection was very good, and the ambiance was rustic. We felt very comfortable and can recommend the Orphée.

The ambiance is unique; I don't know of any other restaurant-café in Germany where you feel as transported to France as this one. The restaurant offers French classics, down-to-earth cuisine without any frills. The newspaper selection is also very good for a café.

We had Coq au vin, boeuf Bourguignon, and a tasty, juicy entrecôte - 3 classiques de la cuisine française - all 3 dishes were delicious! Unfortunately, you don't often get coq au vin and bœuf bourguignon this good anymore even in France... The wine selection is good too.

There's no comparable restaurant in Regensburg, neither in style nor in service, perhaps in the food, but the overall experience is unique. And: I've known it for years. The service changed in 2023. It was already great before, but now there's even more friendliness, which takes everything to another level. Please don't elevate it any further, or we'll end up in heaven!

We went in for lunch at 2:50 PM, asked if there was a table, and were told to sit wherever we wanted. As soon as we arrived, we asked two different waiters where the bathroom was (meaning, in 5 minutes, there were already three people who knew we were there). At 3:08 PM, a waiter approached our table where we were reading (and translating the menu because, if they have it in any language other than German, they never brought it to us) and told us the kitchen had closed at 3:00 PM and that they wouldn't serve us anymore. When we tried to explain that we'd been there for a while and no one had come over to ask us about our drinks, and that of course no one had told us the kitchen was closing, they told us we'd hidden (we were sitting at the first table with a tablecloth) and that if we had sat in front of them, they would have served us. Shameful, that's not how people are treated. Lack of communication, lack of empathy and lack of manners...that's not how you run a restaurant.

Great lil bar and restaurant that is downstairs from our hotel. Staff is very friendly, lots of variety on the menu for breakfast and dinner. Good cold beer, would definitely recommend the local lager they sell.

I love brunch at Orphée as there is a wide range of different breakfast options (personal recommendation the Marseille and the muesli with strawberry puree) - but you have to be a bit lucky to get a seat as the café doesn't take reservations. There are also great French dishes to choose from at lunch and dinner - the atmosphere is also really nice. In terms of price it is a bit more expensive there but in my opinion it is definitely worth it.

After 30 years of visiting the restaurant with always good experiences, now extremely disappointed. Only two hours are allowed for family dinners! No thanks. We always consume well and are now reserving elsewhere.Sorry!

L'Orphée is definitely the restaurant that is plus French or nous avons mangé en dehors de la France! - Et nous avons très bien mangé! An all-round stylish place to eat well and have lively conversations with the table next to you - it becomes even nicer when you can then fall into a comfortable bed in one of the beautiful rooms in the hotel, full, happy and full of spirit.)

While looking for a restaurant we discovered this oasis and felt like we were in France. Even though we didn't have a reservation and it was very busy, we were warmly welcomed and given a nice table. The dishes were excellent and the service was very charming. We felt very comfortable there and will definitely come back when we are in Regensburg. Absolute recommendation!

Unfortunately, the soup couldn't quite keep up - it was rather lukewarm and a bit too small for the price. Small points of criticism: The cardboard straws don't quite fit the higher price level. Glass or stainless steel straws would be a better choice here. In addition, the service could be a little more attentive - you had to actively request the menu, dessert or other orders. Reaching us by telephone also proved difficult. Conclusion: An overall great and successful evening with outstanding food and a lovely atmosphere. If the small optimization points are implemented, the experience will be perfect!

The restaurant has a good name, the staff is nice, but the premises of the restaurant would deserve a little refreshment. During the visit on Wednesday evening, the restaurant was fully occupied and therefore, due to the open space, there is quite a lot of noise. As a result, the wait for service is also longer. The food is tasty, the menu is varied. However, the prices are already above the usual average, for example for desserts already around €10, which I already consider quite a lot.

Somehow the Orphee always had the reputation of being something very special. I've asked myself why before and even more so today. Because there isn’t anything else like it in Regensburg? So our impression is that the place is massively overrated. When it's full, it's very loud - in our seat, to the right of the door, we had a constant, unpleasant pull on our ears - the prices are exorbitant for what you get - coffee was lukewarm - wine spritzer somehow made up of 80% water - Service partly friendly, partly unmotivated. Nevertheless, there are many people in there who think they are better - but don't look like it. A strange place that somehow attracts people.

An authentic French brasserie located in the heart of Regensburg is kinda surprising but a welcome one. The food here is solid and classics like escargots, beef bourguignon and bouillabaisse are well executed and the you setting is also warm and comfortable. Prices are certainly on the higher end for the quality but it’s not bad for a once in a while visit

On Saturday evening we sat outside in the backyard, directly under the ventilation in a place for 2 people. The tables here were very close together, which we found slightly annoying. The service was very friendly and super accommodating. The dishes we chose were the grilled octopus (34.80 euros) and the bouillabaisse (21 euros). The latter in the starter version. The prices on the menu published on the internet no longer correspond to those in the restaurant. Conclusion: The fish in the fish soup was delicious. That was to the point. However, for the price we missed the variety a bit. The octopus was also on point and so were the homemade fries. However, the truffle was definitely saved here. Conclusion: The food was good, but not so much that we would say "... next time we are in Regensburg we will go again". I actually expected more for the price.

Cozy place to sit on the terrace. Service was okay. We forgot water when we asked for a refill. The crepe that my daughter ordered had very little sugar on it and was quite dry. Not really tasty. Drinks are also fine and the street is very pleasant on a summer evening.

Best French-oriented cuisine in a café or restaurant. Excellent in everything that tickles the palate and pleases the stomach. The service is sometimes almost Berlin-like in itself - well, as long as there are more guests than seats, that's okay... That doesn't detract almost at all from the enjoyment of this oasis of good taste in the middle of Regensburg 😎 - from early to late, whether a quick espresso at the counter for €1, breakfast, a small lunch, afternoon coffee or an opulent evening meal: always excellent and always worth a detour! And the fact that it is possible to eat chakchouka and read the Jüdische Allgemeine here is magical. May this always remain possible in this peaceful environment! I used to often eat and drink coffee there because of the special atmosphere. The atmosphere has remained, but the food and service have become significantly worse. Service: Certainly there will be a lot going on on some days, but the staff should not take this out on the guests and a possible understaffing in the staff area should not be the guest's problem. You are no longer greeted and do not immediately feel welcome. As a guest, it is often difficult to speak to a service employee and be assigned the reserved table. This is actually one of the basics in a well-run restaurant. If you come with smaller children, you will e.g. T. pointed out very harshly that a child's buggy was not wanted, even though there was enough space at the time. We left again for the same reason! There is still a lot of room for improvement when it comes to eating. In the past there was mainly typical French bistro food, today it's more like food that you can get in any restaurant. But the Coq au Vin, which is always well prepared, deserves special mention. Conclusion: Maybe you should return to the old virtues of typical French cuisine and have a serious conversation with the service staff. You don't necessarily have to adopt the habits of the waiters on the Champs Élysées who only serve “1 x tourist”.

I actually only ever go there for breakfast because I just like the ambience and the alley. There is always something to watch. I like to eat strawberry Bircher muesli or simple scrambled eggs. That's always good. I don't eat the shakshuka there anymore because it reminds me more of ratatouille and I just make it too often at home. The service is very variable, from very good and friendly to a bit arrogant, in my opinion. Maybe it's the philosophy, as the service staff in Paris tend to be a bit condescending. The restaurant simply scores with its uniqueness. Point. And I just love the green coffee dishes.

The Boeuf Bourguignon was delicious! The salad was good as well but had too much dressing. A bit pricy but worth it. The staff were nice and the food came very quickly. A great place to sit outside on a nice evening.

The worst steak I've ever eaten. I gave the restaurant a chance twice in 2024. I had the feeling that steak was marinated in water for 4 hours and simply had no taste at all. I got the waiter and another (unfortunately incompetent person) and he responded with a shrug of his shoulders. The lamb wasn't any better either. I will never go there again and I would advise any foodie not to be fooled by the atmosphere!!! I would definitely be ashamed to present something like that to my guests.

The Orphée is simply a classic - whether you want to eat, have a glass of wine or just enjoy a quick "petit noir au bar". Always a special atmosphere! And the staff is one of the best in Regensburg! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😁
