Restaurant Naxos in Norderstedt

I had imagined something different about a Greek restaurant. The moussaka had absolutely nothing to do with Greek, and nothing at all. It was a boringly seasoned minced meat casserole with a tasteless bechamel sauce without any trace of nutmeg. There was neither cinnamon nor clove in the moussaka itself. At most a little salt. I know what I'm talking about because I've been vacationing in Corfu/Greece for over 30 years. The service was ok.

It's okay... Sometimes it's really good and sometimes it's ok...

Delicious food in a cultivated atmosphere

Reservations don't help much, we were put back at the staff table near the kitchen despite the reservation and the reason. We were always jostled because the waitresses always had to go to the kitchen and back. Staff was inattentive, unfocused and unfriendly. I can't recommend it for certain occasions... even if the cheap booze is available for free... you can only give it as a gift...

If you like meat, go here! The steaks are perfect and the 21 euros are looking for their competition in Norderstedt. Anyone who likes lamb and beef is well advised here. The restaurant is very busy, a reservation is recommended if you want to sit outside or inside. Depending on the mood of the day, the staff can sometimes be a bit stressed, which may be due to the number of guests. But that makes up for the constant refilling of ouzo and the good food... Parking is generally quite good and free of charge. Those who come from Heidbergstrasse have the best chances.

The food was delicious, but personally I could have liked it a bit more seasoned. The fried pepperoni are an absolute hit. The service is fine, there is no lack of ouzo, but unfortunately there is a lack of attention from the staff later in the evening; They are welcome to go around again to ask if there is anything else they would like to order or something similar.

Edit: We were there in December 2024 with 15 people. Contrary to usual, the restaurant was not fully occupied and we sat outside in the winter garden alone. The waiter made a bit of a mess while eating. At first it wasn't a problem, unfortunately the quality of the food that evening wasn't as usual and we had to go to the waiter to order drinks and other food, he didn't show up often that evening. Dear Naxos team, I'm really used to different quality from you! I hope you haven't overextended yourself with the three shops, it would be a shame if we had to look for a new favorite Greek restaurant... I hope the evening was a negative blip. A very cozy Greek restaurant with great attentive waiters and delicious food. Our favorite Greek! Vegetarians will also get their fill here. ;)

I had only heard good things about the restaurant before my first visit. I was there with three regular guests and we received a very friendly welcome. There is also lunch on a Saturday. The portions are large and tasty. I was already full by about half of the portion, but had to keep eating because it was so delicious. Every dish comes with salad and bread. Ouzo was always refilled. The service is very accommodating.

Restaurant is getting old. Seating worn out. 80s style. No own parking space. We were warmly welcomed, but it wasn't Greek, Indian? Who is the owner of the restaurant? Definitely not Greek! Employees sit at the counter and eat. Now about the disastrous food. Or the selection of the card. From German tomato soup to pasta, fish in all variations to meat, everything the world has to offer. Starters ok. The table was filled with baguette and aioli from the canister, as if a football team was about to arrive. I had ordered liver, three slices, very tender and thinly sliced, unfortunately pieces of liver were overloaded with endless amounts of fried onions, which were also turned into an undefined curry flavor (Indian?) and with apple sauce, right? Why? There is no applesauce in all of Greece! And the potato chips from the Frosta bag? Baa! Where was the red rice? Where was the coleslaw? Speaking of salad, yes, there was that too, it was already prepared in the bowl hours ago." Oh my family had something else too…. That was everything else but not Greek. Restaurant Naxos – A treat for fans of Mediterranean cuisine! Naxos Restaurant is simply fantastic! The shrimp in olive oil and garlic in particular are an absolute highlight - perfectly prepared and incredibly aromatic. The menu offers many other delicious dishes that wonderfully represent typical Greek cuisine. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff attentive and friendly. For anyone who loves Mediterranean food, Naxos is a clear recommendation!

Reserved twice in the run-up to Christmas. Had two very good dinners with friends. Impeccable cuisine, was very tasty. There was nothing to complain about in terms of service either. We'll be back!

Excellent food, even at 9:45 p.m.!! The bread basket with aioli beforehand was great. Now in detail: Octopus salad: a delicacy! Saganaki: Very good sheep's cheese with a fluffy, crispy breading. Prawns Naxos: very good prawns (7 pieces) fried in a high quality oil with fresh onions and garlic, well seasoned. 5 large pieces of lamb chop cut from the quarree with real meat on it, very well seasoned. All in all very high quality. The service was attentive, quick, unobtrusive and super nice. The ambience is very pleasant, good light but not too bright. Also very nice in the heated winter gardens. This also means there are a lot of seats in the restaurant. The price-performance ratio is absolutely appropriate. There are enough parking spaces in the area. Also easy to reach by public transport (5 minutes on foot from Norderstedt-Mitte). Child-friendly with an extra menu section. Dogs are also welcome. Now that Costa (for Greek) unfortunately no longer exists, we went to Naxos. We really enjoyed our first visit. Now our second one was no comparison. Much too small a plate on which a grill plate looks quite squashed and stacked. The meat was lukewarm and the liver cold. It wasn't seasoned enough for my taste. You also felt like you were in a fast food restaurant. Salad, starter and main course came so quickly, you could have finished it in 30 minutes. Otherwise, a cozy Greek restaurant and friendly service that won't leave you thirsty (Ouzo) 😉

We were there for the Christmas party with 25 people. The service was super friendly and attentive, unfortunately some of the fries were only lukewarm. But otherwise great, we will go back.

The normal-sized gyros plate for almost €15 was a bit sparsely stocked. The service was understaffed and one of the waiters smoked in the open door so the smoke came in. The toilets were ok but still had potential. Food was delicious.

Crowded. We had to wait 20 minutes for a reserved table, which was actually free the whole time. The waiters overwhelmed. Not enough cutlery was given, drinks were warm. Long wait for menu, order and food. But the food itself was very good. The selection was also good, which is why we chose this restaurant. However, the ambience is disappointing. The familiar warmth was also completely missing. We only recommend it to a limited extent.

At Naxos there is really exceptionally good food and plenty of ouzo. The staff is also super friendly and generous. I always enjoy coming here and feel really comfortable in the atmosphere here.

At lunchtime you get 3 spaces, but parking spaces are few and far between. Food was delicious and served quickly like the last few times, plus there was plenty of ouzo.

Unfortunately, friendliness is not a priority here. The gentleman took the order and brought the food but didn't smile once, let alone say a nice word. The only smile or friendliness we saw was when we ordered the bill and he came for the third time with a bottle of cheap ouzo and tried to buy us ouzo again, even though we had already said three times that we didn't drink alcohol. Ouzo is probably spent generously to compensate for the lack of friendliness when serving a meal and still get a tip. Anyone who feels like drinking is welcome here. The lamb suflaki was not tender, rather the consistency of a rum steak, a 5th out of 10 (I've gotten better lamb from almost every Greek restaurant than here). The lamb fillet was tasty and tender, just like a fillet should be, but in my opinion the 2 fillets were very small but everyone has a different size. The food wasn't prepared with love, but everyone has different tastes. My conclusion. There are quite a few Greeks who are friendlier and tasty.

Ich war schon des Öfteren da, und es war wieder sehr schön. Das Essen kam sehr schnell, die Bedienung war sehr nett. Es war sehr voll, so das es wohl ohne Reservierung nicht geht. Das Essen war wie immer sehr gut. Man konnte auch Reis statt Bratkartoffeln bestellen, ohne aufpreis. Ich würde immer wieder hierherkommen.

It used to be a great Greek restaurant. The lunch menu last Saturday was very clear. At the Giros only pieces of edge were served. The meat was very poorly seasoned. The prices of the lunch dishes differed slightly from the evening prices. Ouzo used to flow in abundance. At the next table one round was handed out one after the other (5 times during our visit and the guests were already there before us). We were only given an ouzo as a welcome and when paying. In the past it would have been better to reserve a table - it was packed, but now there were only a few visitors. There were a maximum of 5 tables occupied.

Essen wurde lieblos auf den Tisch gestellt. Wir hatten eine Zeusplatte für 2 Personen. Pommes und Bratkartoffeln waren nicht einmal gewürzt. Auch das Fleisch war geschmacklich nur okay Menge und Preis war auch nur okay. Bedienung war steht's bemüht. Kann die guten Bewertungen nicht so ganz nachvollziehen. Hello, we had dinner with you a few years ago and there was your Metaxa Sauce very tasty! Now we were with friends Eight weeks ago with them! We thought the chef was having a bad day!!!! Because the Metaxa sauce wasn't!! 😞 Now we're back with them Food and the Metaxa sauce It tasted like a normal cream sauce that has nothing to do with a Metaxa sauce! We told the waiter that! He said our sauce is always like this! As a suggestion, here's a sensible recipe!!! The following ingredients are required for approx. 300 ml of sauce: 8 cl Metaxa 7 4 tbsp tomato paste 3 garlic cloves 1 tbsp olive oil 300 g crème fraîche 150 ml milk 1 tsp gyros seasoning (or Ankerkraut Smoking Zeus) oregano The 7 star Metaxa is usually used in the kitchen! This time again we were very satisfied that we went to, in our opinion, the second best Greek restaurant in the world (since we can't know them all). Tasty food, great atmosphere and if you're lucky enough to be outside in the summer at one of the open sliding doors Being able to sit there is a real short vacation.

Even as an artisan, the portions here are good. What you can't say about the other Greeks, e.g. Mister Gyros. There they only serve snippets of meat, which you can't call gyros. And the portion is way too small!

I've been there twice now and am really impressed by the price-performance ratio and service. I will definitely come here more often.

Solid Greek restaurant! Stopped here because of the name Naxos, we were already on vacation there. First there was a welcome ouzo 🖖 Had lunch twice, a Giro plate with potato chips, and once Bifteki with sheep's cheese and tomato rice. A small salad was added beforehand. Afterwards we had another ouzo from the waiter, very nice. The food was, as you would expect from a Greek restaurant, very tasty! Price-performance is also ok, service is friendly. You can sit outside in the covered front garden, but it was too warm there today. That's why we sat inside. All in all, a clear recommendation!

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant is not recommended for emulation. When we arrived at the restaurant we were assigned a table. The room was around 27 degrees and it felt like there was almost no oxygen. However, upon request, we were allowed to sit outside. A rather unfriendly waiter took a long time to clean the table and take the order. Afterwards we had to wait 40 minutes for the drinks, the food came after an hour. Unfortunately, this wasn't recommended either: the gyros were very bad, the roasted potatoes and fries were bland. Only the souvlaki tasted good. The salad beforehand was also carelessly prepared and drowned in sauce. We actually wanted to get in the mood for our vacation in Greece - but we probably didn't...

First of all, the positive Suvlaki was very good. Gyros was not good quality meat. Zatsiki lots of garlic Gyros was very chewy.

Quality was good too. When we wanted to pay, we were kept waiting for 20 minutes despite asking about it three times. Here, too, there was time to cash in on other guests beforehand.

Nun betreiben es Inder. Unsere Bedienung war ziemlich grimmig. Aber vielleicht hatte er einen schlechten Tag. Wir kommen aber gerne nochmal und hoffen, dass die Stimmung dann besser ist. Was ich aber gut fand, dass draußen auf der überdachten Terrasse nicht geraucht werden durfte. Und was auch immer noch so ist wie früher.... Ouzo satt.

This restaurant is obviously popular with the locals as there were at least 70 covers on a Tuesday night; and many of them seemed to know the staff. Food, beer and wine were excellent and our waiter was generous with the ouzo.
