Restaurant Mykonos in Bielefeld

We've been coming here once a month with the club for bowling for years, even back in Dimi's day. It's disappointing that we haven't even gotten a call saying it's now closed. Our club member was very close to the tenants. He repaired the lanes. Not even he was informed. We hope the owner will invest in this dilapidated building. Then maybe we'll find new tenants.

The shop is closed. Unfortunately, we have to give it a point 😡 I had already ordered for 10 people a month earlier for my husband's birthday... now we were standing with 10 people in front of a closed door...😡 🤬🤬🤬In mid-July, everything was still okay, not very busy, but the food was still as good as it was in Dimi's days... they only accepted cash, which I always found unpleasant... Dimi would love to come back... yes, everything has to come to an end sometime. We hope Dimi is happy in Greece, and unfortunately, we'll have to find a new favorite Greek restaurant...😞

What happened to this place? The perfect example of "when you don't care about the well-being of your guests"... My recommendation to the owners: please take the reviews to heart. So... Mykonos used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Top service, top food, always a friendly word. Always very well-staffed (both guests and staff). After being quite disappointed a few months ago, we wanted to see if it had improved yesterday. NOT! When we arrived, six tables were occupied; we were allowed to choose another one. We sat down... and waited. Waited... It wasn't full, as I said. At some point, I went up to the front and asked for the menu. The young waitress just said "oh... yeah"...🙄 and brought it to our table. The menu was far too extensive to serve ALL of it freshly prepared, but oh well. We ordered our drinks as soon as the menu arrived. We waited..... .... .... 15 minutes. Then we ordered food. Nothing complicated, in our foresight. Waiting time for gyros, souvlaki with fries and rice: over 30 minutes. By now, only 3 tables occupied. Everything: meat, fries, and rice, arrives lukewarm. WHY????? 🙄 Every meal comes with a salad from the "salad buffet." Another shock, compared to before: tomatoes and cucumbers are cut into such large pieces that you have to cut them into bite-sized pieces at the table. Cucumber slices that aren't even slices. Finger-thick. Tomatoes cut into 4 pieces. Large tomatoes. No onions at the buffet, otherwise just coarse cauliflower, broccoli, and large croutons. A large, very oily coleslaw with a few carrot strands. Beets. They didn't refill the olives; there were still 4 left. The only vinaigrette was yogurt salad dressing, which tasted so 😞. There's also oil (which one??) in an opaque plastic bottle and vinegar (in a glass), as well as salt and vinegar cream – but the presentation is so uninviting, you wouldn't want to use it. Salad buffet rating: 5. The young waitress occasionally dawdled around the restaurant without noticing that my husband was out of his drink. Clearing the other tables was very leisurely. No one seems to have ever heard of wiping tables...! When another person came to the table to pay and asked if it had tasted good, I said that it would certainly have been better hot. "Was it cold?" "No, but lukewarm – and fries fried twice, which THEN are also lukewarm... don't taste good." Her response to that was NOT a response, but an attempted apologetic smile with a sort of shrug. She was gone. Not that an ouzo is important to me personally, but a small gesture of reparation would have been appropriate. There wasn't one. It used to be a matter of course as a kind thank you, always with a fig in it. Not anymore. My advice to you: If you don't like guests, please don't take on a restaurant business. Waiters MUST be attentive and prompt. No snooty people. Don't view guests as a necessary evil. And: Wiping tables is the minimum hygiene requirement in a restaurant. So, unfortunately, you've lost us as guests. All the best.

We went there for dinner, but we were disappointed. The service was poor; we sat for a long time without being served. We weren't offered any ouzo, either as a prelude or afterward. The food was decent, but nothing like other Greek restaurants. We're used to something different. We weren't informed that we could help ourselves to the salad bar. It was a shame, and my husband was served a warm beer. Not recommended.

No. 1 star for the friendly, young waitress. The price-performance ratio isn't right. We were there at 8 p.m. on Thursday. No salad (it costs extra). No vine leaves. Maybe they'll come next week, but they're on the menu not only as a starter but also as a side dish for many dishes. The meat was okay. The starter of stuffed zucchini rolls for €6.50, and there were only three small ones: I feel ripped off. I come from a big city, and the non-alcoholic wheat beer doesn't cost €4.90 there.

Even one star is too much. After waiting for almost two hours, the wrong appetizer arrived. When asked, they simply said they didn't have any vine leaves. Some of the main courses were cold, poorly presented, and absolutely not tasty. The salad bar left a lot to be desired. All in all, it was an absolute disaster. There were eight of us, so we left the food and left. At least we didn't have to pay for the drinks. What a waste of time. The gyro was thickly sliced and greasy.

The worst restaurant I know. It used to be really good. Now it's a disaster and could close forever. There's no point going there. You wait a long time, and then you get small portions that simply taste very, very bad. They don't tell you when they're out of something. They don't even serve ouzo. I wish I had given it zero stars. I'll never go there again.

Four of us went to the restaurant today, and we were all very satisfied. The food was excellent, and the service was also very good. We'd love to come back.

The service was abysmal. Despite a small number of customers, it took almost two hours to get our food, and that was only after threatening to leave at a certain time. When asked, we only received memorized excuses that weren't true. The food was cold and the salad bar was empty, and when we asked, we were told that it wasn't restocked (at 8 a.m.). Only the employee in charge of drinks cared.

We started our vacation and said we would stop at the next restaurant, and it was Mykonos. There was a lady serving and a young girl. They didn't have what we wanted—three different dishes—and the answer was, "We don't have them." We only had gyros and chicken; luckily, they had a children's plate. When we wanted other drinks, we ordered them from the young girl. We waited half an hour, and they never came. We paid our bill and left. Never again to that restaurant. I forgot to mention that the lady who took our food order didn't understand German and just told us "yes, yes."

We were there on June 24th, 2025, the young waitress didn't pay any attention to us, she was constantly on her cell phone, we were there again on July 10th, 2025 and again the same waitress, I can't understand why she works there, why would they pay a young girl to sit there with her cell phone yesterday July 11th, 2025 very good service from the waiter we will be again

We were at Mykonos again today. We were disappointed last time but wanted to give it another chance. Unfortunately, we were disappointed again today. It's just not tasty anymore. The salad buffet is useless. Only coleslaw that was a bit old and canned beans. Then only broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. It doesn't taste good at all. Then came the main course. Unfortunately, it was all tasteless. We talked at the table about how bad the food really was! When I wanted to pay, the waiter called me over and told me that we had told other guests that the food wasn't tasty here. The policy said that. Sorry, we didn't say anything to anyone. Then he got the policy and asked. The policy said that she only heard us talking. So we were overheard. Sorry, that's not okay. He kept talking to me. We shouldn't pay, but I'll pay my bill. He got really annoying. I paid and just walked away. That's it, that's it. We won't be coming back. It was really better at Dimmi's. Always the same!! We've been there a few times now. Things had improved. But over the past few weeks, it's gotten progressively worse. Today was the icing on the cake. We arrived around 8 p.m. One table was occupied, as was the bowling alley. Very few people for a Friday. We sat down. No one noticed us. After a while, the waiter came and cleared the table. We ordered a drink from him. That was it. No one came with the menu. The drinks never came. When I asked, he said, "Oh, yes. I'll bring them right away." They did come. But unfortunately, it was the wrong one. The wrong water. I then got the menu myself. The new water never came either. I asked again where it was. Oh, I forgot. Unfortunately, there's no more still water. He gave us a large bottle. It was there. We then ordered our food. We then went for the salad. Unfortunately, it was very bad. Raw green beans, canned white beans. Raw coleslaw. Half an hour later, the waiter came back and asked again what we wanted. He'd lost the note. By then, it was 9 p.m. Twenty minutes later, our food arrived. Unfortunately, it wasn't good. I told him so, and the manager said if we complained again, we wouldn't have to come back. And we won't! It was the last time for us. What happened today was simply unacceptable.

The food was good. Since prices have been rising everywhere recently, the portion sizes have shrunk a bit. The service is friendly, but could be more efficient. The worst thing that can happen to a restaurateur is that there isn't enough beer. A definite no-go on a Friday night. It makes you wonder "why?" I don't want to comment on that. All in all, though, it's a restaurant worth going to. I can't confirm that the staff is unfriendly, as some reviews claim.

I'm very disappointed and unfortunately, this was the last time I went there. Since the change of owner, the quality has declined so much that it's simply no longer enjoyable. The prices haven't changed, but there have been some changes over time. First, takeaway orders only came with the "cheap" salad. Then the quality of the gyro meat continued to deteriorate. Last time, I left over half of it because it was so fatty. And the portions are getting smaller and smaller. The service has also deteriorated dramatically. We had to wait a long time for our food even though there were only three other tables occupied (on a Sunday evening). The white wine was unchilled, and there was no response to any criticism. The ouzo with figs was also no longer available. When we asked, we were told they were out of figs, so they decided to leave it alone... A real shame

The young girl who served us was friendly and attentive. The wine was warm, and the gyros was greasy and mushy. They haven't accepted card payments for several months; when we asked, we were told it was still broken. They no longer serve ouzo, only upon request. It's deteriorated considerably; it's not as hearty, and the food is noticeably worse and less plentiful. When we asked, we also said that we didn't like the gyros. But no one cared.

We were there as a family of five. We really enjoyed it and would love to come back. Update June 7, 2025: The welcome ouzo with figs has been discontinued. Card payments are also no longer possible. Apparently due to internet problems. What a shame.

Warm wheat beer, warm cola, cold food. Ordered rice, received fries. This has been corrected. A lack of love for the job.

Very disappointed with the restaurant After trying it again, although we had stomach cramps from the food and only nicely pointed out whether everything was okay, we were told if we didn't like it we should go to another restaurant. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend the restaurant. The new operators are very friendly and helpful, but everything else is no longer right... especially the price-performance ratio. It was also very cold there and the salad bar didn't look inviting at all. It's a shame, we otherwise really enjoyed being there.

Very tasty, good portions, very nice service.

First of all, very nice and courteous owners. They try very hard to make it a pleasant stay for their guests with their loving manner. Unfortunately the food didn't go so well, the gyro was very greasy, only the Suflaki skewer was okay. Liver was gristly and very dry, fried for too long and the bifteki was very green, probably due to the herbs, which is something you are not used to in it. But some things are a matter of taste and so everyone should get an idea. For me personally, not necessarily the place I would visit again. I wish the owners much success for the future!

During a short trip to Bielefeld we spontaneously stopped by Mykonos and immediately felt at home. The welcome was super warm, the food was delicious and plentiful and our every wish was met. Definitely the nicest Greek restaurant we have ever visited!

We ordered something for 8 people. When we got home we noticed that not everything was there as it was on the menu. The food also went down a lot. It doesn't taste the same as it used to. For the prices you could put a little more effort into it.

Everything was great, the food was delicious, the staff was nice and the restaurant was lovely and rustic. Keep it up!

It was a really strange evening

The team is very passionate and wants you to feel very comfortable. Task definitely solved excellently! We got a nightcap and dessert unannounced :) The portions are large and delicious! For each main course there is also a 🥗, which you put together yourself at the salad buffet. We would definitely like to come back more often!

Super tasty food at a very good price. The service was great. We informed ourselves after eating the delicious ouzo. We were given a 1/4 bottle and figs. We're not from Bielefeld, but we'll definitely be back.

The staff tries hard, but has no idea about the catering industry. Sometimes the wrong drink comes or the food doesn't come as ordered. The empty plates are usually only cleared away when the customer has already left. The light bulbs at the bowling alleys have been broken for 12 weeks. But the food is OK

Mykonos used to be one of my favorite restaurants. The cozy atmosphere, the delicious food and the attentive service have always impressed me. Unfortunately, that's all in the past. Since the change of operator, portions have become smaller, quality has declined and prices have risen. I find the incorrect calculation of VAT for take-out orders particularly annoying. That makes me feel like I'm being ripped off as a customer. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend Mykonos in its current form and will look for another restaurant in the future.

After being very disappointed with the food shortly after Dimi moved to the new owner, we tried again and ordered something to take away. The gyros portion was only half of what it used to be, it didn't taste good, the rice tasted like it was from the day before. The salad was only half as much and only coleslaw and green salad. All in all quite bland, the gyros didn't taste good either. For us it was the last attempt. It's a shame, but poor quality for expensive money, that's it for us. It's a shame, at Dimi's it was always delicious and rich.

The restaurant, located out of the way in Bielefeld and only accessible by public transport until around 8 p.m., makes a spacious impression and is inviting thanks to the friendly welcome. The very friendly and good service serves an ouzo with fruit as a greeting from the house shortly after ordering. After ordering, the food came to our table quickly and changes were also possible. Unfortunately, the menu is quite heavy on (pork) meat, but there was also lamb and beef. There is salad from the buffet, there was nothing special there, but the white cabbage was ok. I ordered a liver pan and some boring industrial croquettes. The liver was tender but unseasoned, and the sauce could have been thicker. In terms of food, it's pretty standard fare without any highlights. The ambience also lacks the Greek and homely feel, but it was very clean. Overall, just under four stars, only the service really scored with its friendly and courteous manner.

Were there for the first time today My food was OK but when you looked at the plates there was still food everywhere, all the fries at the table were cold, the meat was cold, the meat gyros were not well fried, there was no seasoning and if you ordered the most expensive grill dish you should actually think OK It will be a lot of meat but it was manageable. Service you often had to wait for drinks and sometimes you didn't see any. And I've seen more comfortable Greeks. Therefore only 3 stars

We ate there today with 4 people. We received a very friendly welcome and jokes were made straight away. You immediately felt comfortable. But after we received our food, the feel-good atmosphere was over. Because after we were apparently the last guests at 8:50 p.m., the lights were turned up brighter, the outside door was opened for ventilation, the other tables were wiped down and the manager of the house or the waitress was no longer to be seen. We sat like that for a quarter of an hour in front of the empty plates. Our glasses were empty and no one cared. After a quarter of an hour the boss came back in casual clothes and apologized for having already changed. But that didn't change the fact that we felt like foreign bodies and uninvited guests. So we drove home frustrated at 9:15 p.m. It should have been a nice evening, but unfortunately that kind of hospitality didn't make it happen. Anyone who treats their guests like this shouldn't be surprised that soon no one will come anymore. In any case, we are fed up with this restaurant. It's a shame considering how we were received.

We have been regular customers at the Mykonos restaurant for years, so to speak, and we went there again for a cozy meal. The food was fresh and tasted very good. You could put together your own salad at the salad bar. The ouzo was cold and strong. The service was very friendly. A little less inviting from the outside. The restaurant is simply furnished but you can sit comfortably. The prices are totally okay, the portions are not too small.

Were here as a family with three children. It was very tasty and the ambience and service were very pleasant. The food was very, very good, even for our children who are little “foodies”.

Went there today with my wife and children for Mother's Day and ate. We could eat outside - you could choose whether outside or inside... At first I had concerns about the change of ownership... But the food was very delicious, the service was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the food has deteriorated due to the change of ownership at the beginning of 2024. I'm not exactly sure whether the meat is bought somewhere different than before. If that's the case, please change the supplier again and we'll be happy to come to you again. The ambience is good as usual. Will have to find another Greek until further notice. That's really a pity.

I would be happy to give feedback. We were with a group and first played bowling and then ate something. All in all, my meal wasn't that great. In contrast to the other food, my gyros wasn't grilled really well. It was done, but unfortunately very soft and fatty instead of nice and crispy. Mine, on the other hand, was too done. But the liver was great. 😉 And unfortunately my rice wasn't included in the dish either, instead it was fries. It was ok and of course something like this happens, especially with larger groups. But it's just a shame. But the service was top. Help was available immediately, especially when bowling, as the lane wasn't working properly. Overall very friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately it was a complete disaster. No longer recommended since the change of ownership. We had to wait 15 minutes for the card, the store wasn't full. 3 starters were ordered, only one came. The other two were delivered with the main course. The starters were returned, but strangely appeared again on the bill. The waiter tried to justify himself because apparently many customers eat the starter with the main course?!?? Are you crazy? No apology, nothing. Afterwards a small Alster was ordered and a large one arrived. Returned, got small. On the bill, of course, the big one. The table next to us was equally unenthusiastic about the service. The food was rich but not exceptional. 0815 Greek. The service was messed up, we won't be coming back!

The joy didn't last long. We had to wait 15 minutes for the menu even though the restaurant wasn't full. We ordered three different starters and three main courses. One starter came, the others came with the main courses. Instead of apologizing, the blame was placed on us for not ordering the appetizer as a starter. The waiter justified himself by saying that many guests would order a starter platter together with the main course. We then declined the appetizer because we had placed the order correctly. In the end the appetizers were on the bill. Incredibly unfriendly, zero insight, food was run of the mill. Not recommended.

Very good food and enough in quantity. Super delicious starters, liver dishes great. Everything really good. Salad buffet normal standard, nothing special. Normal, simple atmosphere. Some of the service doesn't speak German, which makes ordering a bit of a gamble. Ordered espresso with light, a latte macchiato came. Ordered liver with rice and fries came. Unfortunately it went through like that. Climax. Waiter pours white wine over my wife's soaking wet blouse. Luckily no stains or damage. Unfortunately no apology, no rags or napkins brought or a small sorry. You don't expect much, but a sorry and if it's a coffee on the house or at least asking if everything on the blouse is good. It really made us miserable. The food is absolutely great and the portions are large, but unfortunately the empathy of the staff is lacking. Still four stars because of the great food.

We were there with 7 people on April 7th, 2023, especially since there were only about 6 guests on site. I had to ask for the menu after 20 minutes because no one came to us! After ordering the drinks, where errors had already occurred, only 5 ouzo were added for a group of 7! Then came the food! But only 6 plates for 7 people! A meal was forgotten and the unfriendly waiter didn't even care! When asked where the forgotten food was, he argued: but only 1 gyro plate was ordered! That's it! The restaurant has become a complete disaster!! We have been customers for years!! It is not recommended! Disinterested, incompetent, unorganized and overwhelmed with 6 customers! Shame about the money!!! It's a shame that the old owners are gone! This restaurant is a disaster 👎👎👎Note poor-

The service is really nice, the food was very tasty, but also a lot. Without us having to ask, we were offered containers so we could take the leftovers home with us. Ambience very pleasant and sanitary facilities exemplary. As a slurp I also have an ouzo with pickled figs (totally my thing). A double win because some of us didn't drink alcohol and I was able to enjoy it twice 😉. We'd love to come back.

Ganz in Ordnung, nettes Personal

Es war ein zwischen stop und Zufallstreffer. Das Personal was sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen einfach super, da waren wir vier uns einig👌🏻. Schade das dieses lokal von zuhause aus so weit weg ist, da wären wir ansonsten öfters anzutreffen!

Das Essen ist sehr lecker, die Bedienungen sehr freundlich. Essen auch zum Mitnehmen. Gut besuchtes Restaurant, deshalb unbedingt einen Tisch vorab reservieren!
