Restaurant Laurin Südtirol in München

My favorite restaurant in Munich. I've never been disappointed here. The quality of the food is simply top-notch. Every dish I've eaten so far has been amazing. You can see my favorites in the two pictures (schnitzel and fried chicken salad), but everything else tastes fantastic too. The service is always super friendly and accommodating. The courtyard is so beautifully designed, and the seating inside is also lovely.

Unfriendly, brisk service for overpriced, mediocre food and drinks

Very good food. Cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff. The portions were tasty. The Kaiserschmarrn is highly recommended. Since the restaurant isn't very large, be sure to make a reservation.

Close to popular tourist spots (Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt), this place seems to be frequented by locals. This modern brasserie serves typical dishes (veal schnitzel) as well as more Italian dishes (antipasti or pasta carbonara). Efficient and attentive service. If you haven't booked, it's a good idea to arrive early, as the small dining room fills up quickly!

A gem at the Viktualienmarkt The modern, rustic decor invites you to a romantic evening. The warm, attentive service accompanies the excellent South Tyrolean/Bavarian cuisine. My personal favorites are the Schmerbeerei (smeared bread), the Knödeltris (dough dumplings), the veal schnitzel, the Schlutzkrapfen (scraps), the Schnitzelbrett (sliced ​​schnitzel board)... If you also manage to enjoy the house's own interpretation of Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes), you're in Bavarian heaven.

A highlight! A coherent concept, great food, and excellent staff who ensure that guests feel completely at home.

We had made a reservation in advance and were able to get a beautiful high table (inside). We were more than thrilled with the main courses. We had the highly praised schnitzel, the dumpling trio, and a dish from the special menu (pasta with lobster sauce and shrimp), followed by Kaiserschmarrn for dessert. Everything was beyond delicious, and the value for money and service were excellent! We will definitely be back!

We discovered this restaurant by chance today. The service was fast and friendly. The drinks arrived quickly, as did the food. The schnitzel was delicious! Good value for money. Highly recommended!

The menu is average, but the good thing is the generous portions. The only downside is the salad, which was average, and the salads in the two courses were almost identical. There were a lot of tourists, and the waiters were constantly chatting with each other while ushering us to our seats, which was a bit unpleasant. They also rushed us to take our orders, and there was a two-hour dining time limit in the evening. A bee was circling my wine glass; the waiter apologized and left, leaving a single bee on the table... I went for the Emperor's Pancake, but it was quite different from the promotional pictures. It was extremely sweet and greasy. The second picture shows dumplings, and the third picture shows pasta.

Top-notch shop! Service was super-accommodating and relaxed. Even though the shop was actually fully booked and there was nothing left to do (according to the phone call), they still got us a table on the spot and we enjoyed a delicious meal. Recommendation: try the Kaiserschmarren for dessert; it's 10/10 here. I haven't had a better one in my life. The price-performance ratio is just right here.

Ich bin sehr oft im laurin und wir dürfen immer so lange sitzen, wie wir wollten. Seit neuesten dürfen alle Gäste nur bis 20 Uhr sitzen, dann kommen die nächsten Gäste. Wir haben gut gegessen und 2 Flaschen Wein bestellt. Gestern mussten wir mit noch vollen Glasern 19.45 Uhr den Platz verlassen. Wir wollten uns an den Rand neben einen Tisch stellen, da angeblich im Lokal gleich eine große Gesellschaft kommt. Wir wurden vom Platz verwiesen, mit der Androhung, ich storniere gleich Eure nächste Reservierung am 6. August. Eine Stunde später sind wir vorbei gelaufen, das Lokal war innen leer. So etwas ist mir noch nie passiert. Erniedrigend ohne Ende. Wir gehen da nie mehr hin.

My culinary friends, what can I say? A gem in the heart of Munich. Anyone who appreciates top-quality food won't be disappointed here. The service was super friendly, nice, and attentive. We had the Wiener Schnitzel and the three-course meal. Simply amazing.

A really nice group who bust their asses for their guests with delicious food. We didn't have a reservation, but were still offered a slot to eat. The menu is straightforward, and the food itself is great. 5 stars 👌

Very good food. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. You definitely don't find this kind of service everywhere! The ambiance is elegant yet very cozy. I can recommend Laurin to anyone who wants a good meal in a great restaurant.

The food was delicious (we had the Tyrolean Trio and the Laurin Schnitzel). We can only recommend it! The servers were also super friendly. You should definitely make a reservation in advance, though, otherwise you won't get a seat (or you'll have to wait a bit).

Disappointing experience despite good food The food was truly excellent, and the service was consistently friendly. Unfortunately, our visit was marred by a very unpleasant situation: After only 75 minutes, we were asked to vacate the table because it was needed for the next guests. This was particularly disappointing, as our reservation confirmation explicitly stated a stay of 2 hours. Such an abrupt dismissal—despite good planning and punctual arrival—leaves a very negative impression. With all due respect for good food and friendly staff, this is not how you treat guests. We will therefore probably not be returning.

One star is already too many. Never been treated so rudely. We didn't get our seat despite booking a table. Staff overwhelmed and just cheeky! So I can't judge the food, but after the experience I don't even want to try it anymore. I begrudge such restaurateurs without service considerations bankruptcy!

Simply excellent, each dish is a delight

The shared starters (we were a group) were excellent and varied. Unfortunately, nothing really impressed me with the main courses, but it was okay. Service was top and so was the ambience.

Well, a truly mediocre place. The food was ok, the service had an attitude, and the manager was even worse. This fish stinks from the head.

Impromptu visit and managed to get a 1 hour slot before the busy early evening trade. Food, Tyrolean Trio was excellent and overall with drinks for two price was reasonable given the quality. Maybe the service was a little brusk but it didn't spoil our enjoyment.

Personal extrem unfreundlich! Werden dieses Lokal bestimmt nie wieder besuchen! Wenn man nur eine bestimmte Zeit bleiben darf, muss man das halt vorher sagen und nicht die Kunden trotz noch voller Gläser auffordern, jetzt sofort das Lokal zu verlassen! Wir kommen bestimmt nie wieder!

I feel like I'm at a ski lodge here. The food is only 1,000 times better. As is the service. Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarren are definitely my recommendation here. You can never go wrong with them.

The Kaiserschmarnn was burnt, and the waiter didn't even apologize; he got upset. He didn't even ask us if we wanted to order something else. Just very arrogant and rude. Never again.

Meine Frau und ich haben das Restaurant Laurin am Viktualienmarkt mittags besucht und hatten insgesamt eine sehr angenehme Erfahrung. Wir starteten mit einer gemischten Antipasti-Vorspeise, die nicht nur geschmacklich überzeugte, sondern auch perfekt für zwei Personen ausreichte. Als Hauptgerichte wählten wir eine Variation von Tiroler Knödeln sowie ein Kalbsschnitzel. Während die Knödel teilweise etwas fest und geschmacklich eher neutral waren, hätte ich mir beim Schnitzel eine in Butterschmalz gebackene Version gewünscht – die Panade war leider recht fade. Positiv hervorheben möchte ich mein Getränk: Der JORO Johannisbeer-Rosmarin-Sprizz war eine echte Überraschung und hat mir richtig gut geschmeckt. Auch der Service war flott und sehr freundlich, was das Mittagessen sehr angenehm machte. Die Lage direkt am Viktualienmarkt ist natürlich einmalig! Allerdings sollte man unbedingt reservieren, da es sonst schwer ist, spontan einen Platz zu bekommen. Insgesamt ein gutes Restaurant mit tollem Service und schönem Ambiente, auch wenn es bei den Hauptspeisen noch etwas Luft nach oben gibt. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Ich bin großer Südtirol-Fan und probiere da in jedem Restaurant, von einfach bis Gourmet, immer Tartar…… Hier habe ich das beste erhalten das ich je probiert habe. Dazu noch mega freundliche Mitarbeiter und eine sehr schnelle Küche (für Samstag 13:00 Uhr nicht unbedingt zu erwarten). Dan kann es nur 5 Sterne ++ geben

Full 5 points in all categories! 6 points for the Kaiserschmarrn - absolute class. We came for an early dinner without a reservation and also wanted to try the Kaiserschmarrn. They had a table for us for 1.5 hours. The service managed this very well without causing any stress. The atmosphere is beautiful, the service is very friendly and attentive. The best experience of this day in Munich. We will definitely come back and bring our family with us. Reservation is absolutely important!! We saw how many people had to be turned away because the store was simply full. Thank you for this spontaneously wonderful evening!

Very tasty food, great service and nice atmosphere

We had reserved a table for four but were delayed 20 minutes due to traffic. Unfortunately we couldn't reach anyone by phone. When we arrived we were informed that the table had already been taken. I suspect that this table was never reserved and was simply forgotten. The owner of the restaurant was very unfriendly towards us and we were basically thrown out of the restaurant. We've never experienced anything like this before. Unfortunately, the role of the “host” was misunderstood here. But that doesn't fit with the "supposed" South Tyrolean ambience of the "Laurin" because in South Tyrol we experienced wonderful hospitality.

Eten was super, prijs/kwaliteit helemaal in orde. Bediening heel vriendelijk en goed, hoewel het wat mij betreft net iets chiquer had gemogen. Sfeer prima, minpuntje dat honden toegestaan zijn.

Happened to find this place because of the proximity to my hotel. I didn’t have a reservation, but got lucky with a table. The staff is very friendly and speaks English if needed. The Laurin Schnitzel was very good and definitely worth it with a large portion. The vibe of the place was very fun. I really enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone interested in a cozy dinner in a cute restaurant in Munich.

Welcome environment and humble South Tyrolean food with generous portions. I would come here again but this place only deserves 3-4 stars average because the waiter was a bit rushed with serving our wine and clumsily dripped it on the table. He didn’t even notice.

We were there on Saturday with a large group for the Christmas party. I would love to give more stars, great service, great food, great ambience, great reception 💖we were all thrilled!!! I can fully recommend this restaurant 👌

Recommended👍! If there are more than 2 people, you should reserve a table. The staff is nice and attentive, could look a little friendlier. Eating and drinking is a feast for the eyes and palate and is therefore highly recommended.

Tolle Küche und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Wir haben den Abend mit unseren Freunden genossen. Mein Schweinefilet war exzellent rosa gegart und zart. Absolute Empfehlung.

Hicimos una reservación temprano en el día y nos alegramos de haber hecho como vimos que rechazaron muchos paseos - ups mientras estábamos allí. No es un establecimiento grande, pero íntimo y acogedor. Maravillosa comida bávara con especiales - esta noche fue un goulash de ternera con un dumpling de calabaza y coles de Bruselas que ambos pedimos. Compartimos una bruschetta de tomate y de postre, el suflé especial de chocolate con coulis de frambuesa y helado de vainilla. Un vaso de Gruner Veltliner y un delicioso gin tonic alemán. El servicio fue ejemplar, amable, cálido y acogedor. Intentaremos ver si podemos volver de nuevo en este viaje, si no definitivamente en el siguiente.

A great lunch at Laurin is the lunch menu. A small but fine menu that is very tasty, filling and absolutely affordable. Since my craving for the food was too great, I can only post before and after pictures of the dessert here. True to the motto, eating food takes precedence over visual appeal, even though both are met here.

I had Laurin’s Schnitzel and Cauliflower soup. Just amazing!!! Super tasty!

It's not often that I give 5 stars to everything, but the Laurin deserves it. This goes from the great staff to the price-performance ratio to the great food in a very tasteful ambience. And that too right on the Viktualienmarkt and therefore in a tourist hotspot. People often like to cash in, but that's definitely not the case here. If you're reading this and want to go to Munich then stop by here, you'll be thrilled too. Greetings to everyone from Laurin who gave a tip in cash 🤩😉.

The food here is always delicious. Unfortunately it gets a bit noisy on weekends, but that's due to the construction and the restaurant can't do anything about it. Everything tastes like in South Tyrol. I can highly recommend the schlutzkrapfen and the dumpling tris, as well as everything from the daily menu. The photo shows char with pumpkin risotto

Well-known restaurant on the Viktualienmarkt, good for a late lunch. Usually there are also a lot of tourists and/or day trippers there. Always well attended and therefore somewhat stressed staff. Boss is always very hard working, I've known him for a long time. Food was okay for the price category. The only thing that is actively disturbing is the unprofessional female service person at the weekend (looks like 17 years of substance abuse) and her personality. You just want to eat in peace with friends and don't need any further discussions and comments about the conversations that take place privately AT THE TABLE.

I would have hoped for a little more from a restaurant right on the Viktualienmarkt, as you also feel slightly underdressed in the restaurant. It was just great!🤩 The food, the staff, the ambience… everything. We had the veal schnitzel, the salad with smoked fish and the Kaiserschmarren. Everything is absolutely delicious. I accidentally spilled my beer and without saying anything it was wiped away and I was offered a new one, everything was totally uncomplicated. Thank you for the great evening!!!🥰
