Restaurant La Piazza in Kempen

A true culinary delight for connoisseurs! We haven't been there in a while, which we regret. From start to finish, the service, the food, and the ambiance were all top-notch. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and we thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful evening. Thank you for your hospitality, and here's to many more years!

Expensive and unfriendly staff (towards the end). When paying last night (November 28, 2025), we encountered the most unfriendly and arrogant staff we have ever met, and everything was overpriced. We wanted to order a nightcap to add to our bill, but were very arrogantly and rudely informed that the restaurant had closed at 10 p.m. and that there was nothing more available, in an incredibly unfriendly and arrogant tone. It was our first time there (and also our last). I think that especially in such a high-priced restaurant, where they are so strictly enforcing their opening hours, a friendly reminder like, "Excuse me, we're closing soon, would you like to order one last round?" should be given, not such a curt approach. But we still had to pay the €120 bill for the two of us even after closing time. But I've read here that others have also written that the service decreases after 9 pm, I think for the same reason. That should definitely be different.

Simply a wonderful experience every time, and incredibly delicious. Absolutely normal prices for truly high-quality products.

Around noon, my partner and I spontaneously decided to have lunch at La Piazza and were immediately seated. The restaurant is modern and stylishly furnished. The service is very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. You can't help but feel comfortable here. The menu is appealing, with a lunch menu that leaves nothing to be desired. Although the restaurant was quite busy, the pizzas arrived very quickly. The crust is thin, the dough is fantastic, and the toppings are delicious! I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

What can I say? The food was excellent. There were four of us there – we started with a mixed starter platter, rump steak, and fillet, and finished with a mixed dessert platter with espresso and grappa. A feast for the eyes – all courses were beautifully presented and very tasty. The service was extremely friendly, on the ball, and never at a loss for words. The wine list was good; we had a delicious Lugana from the three available. The interior was stylish but comfortably furnished. We'd be happy to come back; an all-round lovely evening.

We regularly go from Venlo to Kempen to stroll through the cozy shopping streets. A trip to La Piazza is automatically part of it. The great ambiance, the friendly staff and the delicious food, delight us every time. Very worthwhile.

We were able to get a table there spontaneously, even though the restaurant was full. (Short wait time) The food served was delicious and piping hot. The staff is friendly and seems well-coordinated and motivated. Within a few minutes, the table next door was cleared and prepared for the next guest. A definite recommendation!

We had a very good meal on Wednesday lunchtime and spent a few pleasant hours there. Highly recommended

The starter was a very pleasant surprise. The vitello tonnato wasn't, as is still the norm in many restaurants, a few slabs of meat completely covered in tuna mayo, but a beautifully presented dish. The meat was sliced ​​very thinly and was also a delicate pink. The tuna sauce was applied in blobs, allowing each guest to choose their own meat/sauce ratio. It was absolutely delicious. The next course, however, took a very long time (30 minutes) and was somewhat disappointing. The pinsa I chose from the daily specials had been in the oven far too long and not only looked almost burnt, but also tasted burnt. If I'd had time and wasn't in company, I would have given the chef a second chance and sent the dish back. The topping was fine and an interesting idea. My comment about the less than satisfactory dish went completely ignored – a shame.

I have celiac disease and this restaurant was recommended. They are extremely knowledgeable about gluten-free. I got pizza there that was gluten-free and even gluten-free bread in advance. I tolerated everything well. Super.

After a 7 hour journey we were exhausted and hungry. We got the last free table. The restaurant was fully booked - on a Tuesday evening - you have to make a reservation! It was great, food, service, ambience and atmosphere.

We were lucky to get a table spontaneously and ate very comfortably in a great atmosphere. Our starter was tomato soup and onion soup. Both of which were incredibly delicious. The main course was lasagne and pasta in Gorgonzola sauce. The food is a culinary delight and you feel very comfortable there. The service is very attentive even when it is very busy. Thank you

Been there for the first time after the renovation. Nice facility. The food and service can of course keep up. There is a weekly menu and a normal menu. Pizza, pasta dishes, etc. There are delicious small rolls and dip in advance. 5*👍

In itself a very nice restaurant, really well decorated, very chic and cozy. Unfortunately, service drops off significantly after 9 p.m. Drinks, especially the water bottle (Pellegrino 0.75) are very expensive at €9. The food was good and tasty but nothing special. Lasagna and noodles were delicious. The pizzas look like they come from a snack bar and taste no better or worse. Thick base, no real mozzarella/fior di latte cheese and a relatively small pizza. All in one a nice restaurant with average Italian food (apart from the pizza which is not Italian at all)

First of all, thank you for the Torta al Cioccolato, Chocolate cake. It's the best around. When I come to eat it's mainly because of him. The pizza is delicious and now it was finally nice and spicy. Nice cozy pizzeria, invites you to stay as long as possible. Everything friendly and nice.

Rarely have I had such a boring pizza. Visually it's a frozen pizza, the dough is very soft, the toppings are tasty but nothing exciting. It's a shame, I haven't been there for a long time, not much has changed apart from the beautifully designed ambience. Service was very friendly.

Our favorite Italian. The dishes are very tasty, fresh and high quality. Yes, a little more expensive but I'm happy to pay a little more for good food. Then I'd rather eat less but eat well.

Das La Piazza haben wir schon öfter besucht es war früher immer ein schönes Restaurant mit wechselnden Wochenangeboten und einer reichhaltigen aber nicht überfüllten Karte. Es herrschte immer eine angenehme gar familiäre Stimmung. Das mittlerweile sehr schön umgebaute Restaurant bietet nun einige Änderungen z.B beim betreten des Restaurants. Man wird am Eingang von der Dame des Hauses sehr freundlich Empfangen und zum Tisch geführt. Wenn sich diese Freundlichkeit auch auf den Hausherren übertragen könnte wäre es ja schon super, jedoch begrüßt er wohl nur seine Lieblingsgäste ansonsten wird hier oft das Wort arrogant erwähnt, passt irgendwie. Nun ja man will ja auch eigentlich dort essen, die Karte ist überschaubar geworden Wochenangebote werden kaum noch angeboten. Geht man dort häufiger hin wird die Karte schnell langweilig. Das was man bekommt ist soweit gut, jedoch kann man Gerichte auch ohne ständige Verwendung von Sahne zubereiten. Achtung persönliche Meinung: Wenn es in Kempen einen 2. Italiener mit ein wenig Klasse, freundlicher Bedienung und guter Küche geben würde, könnte die Luft für das La Pizza dünner werden.

Sehr angenehmer, freundlicher, aufmerksamer und fixer Service. Gute mediterrane Küche in entspannender Atmosphäre. Reservierung unbedingt empfehlenswert - wie auch der Blick auf die Empfehlung des Hauses. Abstand der Gäste zueinander vielleicht etwas gering, hängt aber sehr vom persönlichen Empfinden ab.

Leckeres Essen in einer guten Location. Service war gut bis sehr gut. Preise sind angemessen, für die Kempener Innenstadt sogar günstig. Ein Stern abzug gab es weil mir bei allem der letzte Touch fehlte. Aber das ist vielleicht auch Geschmackssache.

Ein ganz spontaner Besuch zum Weihnachtsmarkt am Samstag Abend, bedingt durch meine Bitte, die Toilette benutzen zu dürfen und total freundlicher Empfang, führte uns dorthin. Service sehr gut und freundlich, Speisen sehr geschmackvoll und gut angerichtet... (Dorade und Spaghetti aus dem Parmesanleib) einfach lecker. Solch einen Italiener hätten wir gerne ums Eck. mille grazie

Ik had een goede ervaring bij dit Italiaanse restaurant. De spaghetti was erg lekker, en het interieur was mooi ingericht. De locatie was ook ideaal, je had een mooi uitzicht op het plein. Het personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
