I've rarely eaten as well on the Baltic coast as I did at the Küstensilber restaurant. It's part of the Hotel Vju and is beautifully decorated. The various dishes on the menu reminded us of German classics, but they were all reinterpreted and all had something in common. They were incredibly beautifully presented and, above all, very delicious. The waiter was able to recommend suitable wines and fruit juice spritzers and was overall very attentive and friendly. We felt more than comfortable and will return the next time we're on Rügen. Thank you for the lovely evening!

We were very disappointed! The rump steak was cooked to order, but the entire dish was very heavy with balsamic vinegar. This doesn't belong on a steak with chanterelle mushrooms. The lamb's lettuce was out, and no alternative was offered until I asked for it. The male server behaved inappropriately, very unpleasantly. That sort of behavior is perhaps acceptable in a snack bar! No bread was served, even though we wanted it. The female server was very professional and sought and found a solution to our dissatisfaction. Even with a discount, I wouldn't visit this restaurant again. Our table was one of four that were very dissatisfied.

We stayed at the hotel for four days. In the evenings, we tried various restaurants in town with great success. On our last evening, we went to Küstensilber. The atmosphere was wonderful, as was the entire hotel. The service was very attentive. But the food was a disgrace. The salad was sandy, the venison saddle was burnt, there was a hint of purée, and the vegetables were tasteless. The only edible wine was the Primitivo. Sorry, but I expect something different from a four-star hotel.

We hesitated for a long time before deciding to try the buffet (barbeque) due to the high price. It exceeded our expectations! Everything was perfect: a reasonable selection (not too much, not too little), lovingly prepared, and very tasty. Extremely friendly and fast service. Highly recommended; the value for money is just right!

What really surprises me is that there are only 5 reviews to date. Please share this review: 4 stars for the kitchen (the fish was excellent). The rest of the food is 2 stars: from the lack of fish cutlery (no guest received any), to the fact that the ordered wine took about 10 minutes to be served, to the fact that it wasn't possible to pay the bill by card (despite the coronavirus pandemic and being asked to pay by card even in the restroom...).

Restaurant with XXL portions. Average cuisine, service not guest-oriented, ambiance: dining hall with wooden roof trusses at the train station in Göhren

We had booked at the Rainbow Camp again. This time, we decided to have breakfast in the restaurant for the first time. It was the first and last time. The price-performance ratio here was not right at all. There was a very, very limited selection of inexpensive cooked sausage and some Camembert. The scrambled eggs weren't homemade, and there were no fried or boiled eggs. There were reheated frozen rolls, no fish options, no cheese selection, and no nice fruit selection. And for €17.50, we can only advise against it. The ambiance and friendly service could make the restaurant a breakfast magnet. Perhaps a "breakfast restaurant featuring local products..." with a larger selection that meets the guests' wishes. Last year's "Sustainability Week" certainly provided some great ideas... Bakers, farmers, butchers, fishermen, and sea buckthorn producers are all represented on the island... And then everyone would definitely be happy to come back, even if the breakfast price is higher. :-)

The food was delicious, the staff extremely friendly and accommodating, a pleasant atmosphere here and accordingly 5 out of 5 🌟

First of all, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the breakfast is quite good. However, the four-course dinner menu is not of acceptable quality, even though the price is not high. It's more like "building block" dishes, consisting of individual ready-made components, each of which is of poor quality. The presentation is still okay, but the taste is bland and, typical of convenience foods, uniform, without variety. - The sauce on the plates had already dried out, which shows that the dish was prepared far too early and had been refrigerated for ages. - The arugula salad for the appetizer was then placed on the plate dry, also far too long before serving. It should have at least been marinated and not just smeared with sauce on the surface. - The ham for the appetizer consisted of three wafer-thin slices (which is actually good), but the slices were stuck together to form one thick slice and appeared carelessly placed on the plate in lumps. - The garnish (apple slices) were brown and not fresh. - The venison broth was the best/strongest in terms of flavor, but lacked the typical game flavor and could have been made from beef. - The sauce for the main course just tasted like a typical convenience product. - The cornmeal slice (similar to polenta) was simply dried out and flavorless. - The braised shank was soft enough, but slightly burnt. - The Swiss roll for dessert It was also (like the sauce) dried out, as it had been cut and arranged too early, and the taste wasn't good either. The sorbet from the other dessert was one of the best, so you can't go wrong with that. Overall, it seems as if someone had tried to arrange the cheapest ready-made products halfway decently on the plate, and not by a trained chef, but by assistants who had to fill gaps in the kitchen. Hence the early pre-ordering of the menu (upon arrival or at breakfast) so that everything could be prepared well in advance and the guests could at least be served their food quickly. What's particularly unpleasant is that the photos of the food shown in the hotel and on the website bear no resemblance to the reality on site. As a guest, you feel a bit ripped off. Even the very low price is of no use; we would rather pay more if the quality was right. Hence the recommendation to eat out for dinner.

We spent our vacation in Göhren and, among other things, discovered this fantastic restaurant. The delicious food, the super-friendly service, and the chef all deserve 5 stars. We'll definitely recommend it to our friends.
