Restaurant Kreta in Vilseck

This annoys me so much!!! It's been 4 times now that I want to eat there and it says it's open but they never answer the phone and when I get there it's closed!! People fix your schedule and your service, is terrible!

Food - ok, service - complete disaster! We had dinner in Crete today and are still shocked by what we experienced there. My husband ordered a vegetarian dish (62 Imam - eggplant with fried potatoes and feta cheese) When the food came, we noticed that the feta cheese was missing and asked the waiter about it. She answered loudly several times in a mushy way that feta was ready and she put tzatziki on it. (Which should mean something like, feta cheese is out.) We also had tzatziki on the table. Then she turned around and just walked away. When we wanted to pay, we asked her again about the missing feta and told her that we didn't want to pay the full price because she hadn't informed us about it beforehand and just assumed it was ok. She became very cheeky, said that we didn't have to pay anything, paused for a second and then said that it was probably a joke. Besides, that would be the chef's fault and not hers and it would only be a small piece of feta anyway. She then went and got the bill and didn't even mention the idea of ​​paying less. After the next discussion started we got a €1 discount… It was then too stupid for us to continue discussing. Two of the waitress's friends were sitting at the next table, to whom she then loudly explained the events in front of us in Greek. Unfortunately, this store is not recommended unless you like unfriendly and poor service. Very unfortunate...

Food was good. Beer was pretty good.

The restaurant itself isn’t so bad. However, the waitress is really rude. The food is repulsive. My wife and I both were very sick upon going home and both vomited. We immediately threw away the left over. I have been to Greece for a 2 week stay; this food resembles none of Greek culture nor cuisine.

Recommended! Open on Mondays! Great meats and BIG plates, you will be very full. Close to Graf and Vilseck, on a picturesque street. English menus available. Good, if basic, beer selection.

This used to be a great place but there are a group of bumbs who hang out the front door and get drink and smoke. I have nothing against bums, drunks or smokers, I just don't want to see, smell or hear them when I take my family out for dinner. The food on Alexander's is not as good but a way better vibe.

Waren sehr zufrieden, das essen war super gewürzt und sehr gut . Sehr zu empfehlen!

Das Essen ist lecker und auch der Biergarten im Innenhof ist an sich sehr schön. Innen waren wir nicht, das was wir gesehen haben, war aber auch recht ansprechend. ABER Der Service, naja... Wir hatten von Anfang an das Gefühl als Kunde nicht erwünscht zu sein und zu stören, kein Lächeln oder freundliches Gesicht, genervt irgendwie. Das schlimmste aber sind die Toiletten. Wir schätzen auch, dass die Toiletten sich mit der Pizzeria nebenan geteilt werden. Es roch stark nach Zigaretten und wenn man in die Ecken geschaut hat wusste man auch warum. Kein Toilettenpapier, leere Seife. Die Flecken an den Wänden und Tür sind sicher auch nicht von gestern.

Sehr nette Bedienung. Essen war ok. Nichts besonderes, aber nicht schlecht.

The food was fine, in fact quite good. I had the seafood platter. The service however was less than acceptable. They basically ignored me when I walked in for 5 minutes. Then when they finally acknowledged me it was with a dismissive look and gesture to sit anywhere. After sitting it was 10 minutes to a menu and another 10 for a drink. (Thank goodness for my iPhone to keep me occupied!) Could I have left? Sure but I had nothing better to do. I’m glad I didn’t because the food was enjoyable. By the way, I was the only patron during my visit.

Waren heute zum zweiten Mal dort und schon wie beim ersten Mal, war alles wirklich richtig lecker. Das Gyros ist knusprig und nicht trocken und alles ist frisch. Die Bedienung ist nicht aufdringlich und nett. Wird jetzt unser Stammgrieche. Nur zu empfehlen 👍😉

Not a big fan of German restaurants in general...but Kreta's has the variety to satisfy different tastes. The waitress/manager is great, the prices are good (compared to other German restaurants). Office staff from Vilseck Garraison comes to dine at least once a week. Definitely recommed!

Bei uns war alles top 🙂! Das Essen - der Preis war 😉 die Nachspeise, Eis, Espresso sehr gut 😊!

Leider nicht zufrieden. Zwei Gerichte bestellt für daheim und vor Ort abgeholt . Eins davon mangelhaft verpackt, soße komplett in der Plastiktüte gelandet. Dame am Telefon sowie am Empfang sehr unfreundlich. Geschmack vom Essen sehr eintönig, fad und langweilig . Müssen uns leider nach einem anderen Griechen umschauen. Schade

Es war schön ruhig und man hatte genügend Zeit zum aussuchen der Getränke und das Essen . Die Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich.

Saw the comments about rudeness... lol I get it but I've gotten used to it here in Germany. Take that entitlement back to the states. They were attentive that's all that matters... the food was pretty great and they had the best Tap Radler ive had so far.

Ouch. This restaurant's service is it's own worst enemy and, unfortunately, is its distinguishing characteristic despite food and value being quite good. And by service I mean that one lady the other reviewers refer to. Google Maps states open at 11, their door says 11:30, and she strolled in at almost 11:50 (the cook had let us in)...and it only went downhill from there. I would not return so long as I had another option. It is disappointing, and 90% of my reviews on here are positive, if that's saying anything.

Vorspeisengerichte hervorragend, 1 Stern weniger weil wir sehr lange, fast eine Stunde auf die Hauptspeise warten mußten, obwohl alles miteinander bestellt wurde. Ansonsten schönes gemütliches Ambiente, Bedienung freundlich.

Been going here every Friday about a Year now. Bringing my office staff from USAG Vilseck. Foods really good,waitress is great, and Uzo aperitif is also great. In little Vilseck, this is my favorite place.

Nice quiet place with very good Greek cuisine. We went with family consisting of 7 seven people. Had a wonderful time. The food will hit the spot and have you come back for more. Highly recommend this place to others.

Der beste Grieche im Ort, sehr gemütlich und ein schöner Biergarten. Schade das ich nicht gleich am ersten Abend hergekommen bin.

My wife and I always enjoy this restaurant. Quiet atmosphere, family friendly and pet friendly. Also good on prevention of food allergies. I recommend almost everything on the menu.

I went with my boyfriend on a Sunday evening. It wasn’t too busy but the waitress seemed to not want to serve us. The food was okay. I have had wayyy better. They charged us 40 euro for 4 glasses of prosseco so check your receipt. They only accept euro as well. I will be going to the other one down the street for sure.

Schneller und höflicher Service. Ich finde, dass das gesamte Lokal Personal dort einen guten Job gemacht hat. Die Dekos auf den Plätzen und im ganzen Restaurant ist angemessen und ästhetisch. Das Wc ist stets rein und allem in allem vermittelt das Lokal einen sehr guten Eindruck. Ich finde die Preise ebenfalls vollauf Fair. Testet diese tolle Kochstube, auf der Karte ist in der Richtlinie für jeden etwas dabei.

This is a nice restaurant with friendly and accommodating staff. If you are looking for authentic Greek food, then this area of the country may not be for you. They have interesting dishes but be aware that because the main meat product in this part of the country is pork, most dishes will be pork based, so you moussaka, will be made with pork rather than with lamb or beef. All that said, the food is well prepared. You can get grilled dishes such as lamb rib chops. They also have baked dishes, many are tomato based. They have a farmers salad that consists of tomatoes cucumbers cheese and olives. Their regular salad, ad in most restaurants in this part of Germany, is not a fresh green salad. It contains some lettuce, and a type of pickled cabbage similar to cole slaw, as well as a bit of tomato and maybe some other vegetable. They also have typical Greek items such as zaziki and lemon chicken soup. Sometimes ouzo is offered as a complimentary shot before or after the meal

Sehr Familienfreundlich, es gibt eine griechische Karte und eine Burgerkarte. Jeder findet hier ein Gericht das man mag. Gutes Essen, wunderschönes Ambiente, super Service und günstige Preise. Dort gehen wir immer wieder gerne hin.

Having spent ample time along the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts, I have a pretty good feel for what Greek food should taste like. Each time I went to Kreta (mainly out of desperation cause Alexander’s was closed), I was always underwhelmed. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming but the food always seems to miss the mark. You are better off walking the 50 feet across the street.

Restaurant Kreta has a very nice décor and is very welcoming. The service was great and the waitress was kind. And the food was amazing I had an opportunity to eat year two times of visiting. Great off the neck Greek food at its finest at a wonderful price.

We were in Germany, Italy and Austria for 32 days this past summer and I'd have to say that our dinner at the Kreta was absolutely fabulous!! Words cannot describe the taste of such awesome food.

2nd time here, repeat visit after coming in March. Big portions! Heathy options. Got one of the meat plates, side salad and a portion of olives. Not too busy, and fast service!

Staying in the local area for a business trip, we visited this place twice and had a great meal both times. The menu is extensive, the food very good and the price great value. The staff were friendly and the service was prompt. I especially liked the gyros.

IF you are in the mood for some good Greek food, then try out the Restaurant Kreta in downtown Vilseck. I believe you will not be disappointed. Always get the doner, but also try the dolmades.

This Restaurant is very quiet & reserve. I Like the atmosphare & decor, there is another Restaurant like it in Amberg but it is more expensive. This has a small town, village feel to it & I Like it.

The restaurant was very nice looking and fancy. They bring you a shot of liquor before your meal and after your meal. It taste like black liquorice for may not be for everyone. The food was good and so was the service.

I have eaten here twice recently and really enjoyed the food here. Menu's in both German and English with an excellent variety of Greek dishes. Try the dolmidakia and the various grilled meat plates with a wide assortment of specialty gyros, lamb, and souvlaki varieties....
