Restaurant Kostbar in Bad Mergentheim

I felt that there was too little choice for lunch, with only one soup, one main course, and dessert. The best part was that they don't accept cash; you can only pay by card. Otherwise, I completely agree with SB RB's review. Barely an hour after I wrote this review, the restaurant's management contacted me. They expressed their regret and invited us to come back to check on their quality. I find that very hospitable! We will gladly accept the offer in the new year.

The dining room was quite chilly right away, despite the cold, damp weather. The only drinks available were water, tea, or juice. When the lady came over with two pieces of paper and asked if we wanted soup, she didn't know what it was called, even though there was only one. The main course, breaded fried kohlrabi with new potatoes and spinach, was lukewarm. The potatoes had been kept warm for so long that they were hard and shriveled. The salad was okay, and the dessert was okay too, but it didn't blow me away, although the price for the poor quality of the food certainly did. Never again; we were very disappointed because we went there based on the good reviews.

Highly recommended! Probably the best example of how delicious and varied meat-free cuisine can be. A truly wonderful experience. We'll be back. Thank you!

My first visit to the restaurant 'Kostbar' was for their monthly evening event, 'Happiness Off the Rack,' which featured one of my favorite vegetables: asparagus! To cut to the chase: I haven't eaten this well in a long time! Far removed from the classic asparagus menu, the Kostbar kitchen team surprised their guests that evening with extraordinary creations and, incidentally, proved that it's possible to cook at the highest level with purely vegetarian cuisine! From the appetizer to the main course and dessert, familiar asparagus classics were taken and enhanced with high-quality ingredients and a great deal of creativity. The cooking was done with love and passion. The culinary experience was rounded off by a beautiful and pleasant ambiance in which I felt comfortable from the very beginning. As you can probably tell, I'm more than impressed and certainly won't wait for the next evening event for my next visit. After all, the dishes on the lunch menu suggest that a delicious experience awaits you then as well!
