Restaurant Klosterstüble in Schönwald im Schwarzwald

What used to be fantastic... is unfortunately no longer true... I miss the old Klosterstüble with good food and a different standard. Sry, unfortunately I can't recommend it anymore... anyway, all the best to you... it's just a shame that good things are lost... I really hope you (Klosterstüble team) get the hang of things. Don't turn it into a bar/pub....! It's not great for children to see drunk people hanging over the bar and loudly sharing their opinions... With that in mind... take care of yourselves and I hope you accept the criticism and maybe do something about it...

We were probably unlucky that evening and had to wait almost 3 hours with our 3 children for the food, which didn't correspond to what was actually ordered. We would have liked better communication and not been presented with a fait accompli little by little. The only thing that saved us the evening was the company of our friends and their children.

Mega delicious food. Had the best cheese spetzle I've ever eaten and had already tried a few. The owners are really cool, relaxed people. We haven't felt this comfortable in a long time. Keep it up and stay that way.

We were only there for a beer and a tea as we were kindly given shelter during the rain shower. Very lovingly furnished and the owners are helpful in every way. We would go there any time if there was a free spot. Be sure to reserve 👍🏼

Home-style cuisine, very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere

Very friendly staff, you immediately feel at home. Everything was really great. Salad buffet is not overcrowded, but it doesn't have to be. There were cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, corn - all very fresh and a very nice green, fresh salad at the start. Salad dressing, not the 0/8/15 mayo sauce, but really homemade, very tasty. If you want, you can also use the classic vinegar and oil. For the main course we had cordon bleu with fries, both on point, fries nice and crispy and s'pfännle. Plus 4x0.5 of dark beer. All in all top notch, always happy. Luckily, as locals we don't have to go far!

Just bad. Apparently the reviews don't match what we experience today. I would forego a visit. We had schnitzel, cordon bleu and spaetzle pan. Unfortunately everything was inedible. I'm just not used to that in the Black Forest.

This inn is more than recommended. It is a family business that focuses on friendliness and fun and, above all, looks forward to children. They know exactly what they are doing and what they can cook. The food is always delicious and everyone is just loving and friendly. The price-performance ratio is appealing for this mega meal. We are Spanish friends. We tried to have dinner or lunch the week we were on vacation and they hindered us by telling us that everything was booked when it really wasn't. Place not recommended especially because of a waitress who served the terrace.

We have been regular customers at this restaurant for decades. But since the new takeover last year, prices have gotten higher and quality has gotten worse. Yesterday we ordered a vegetable broth, it was made from powder and the Viennese-style schnitzel was industrially made from pressed meat. Charging almost 20 euros for such a schnitzel is steep. The soup for over 6 euros was also totally overpaid. The service was also overwhelmed. It's a shame about this good restaurant.

Service was fine, we were served in a friendly manner. However, only three stars for the food because the meat portion of the Swiss schnitzel for my daughter and I was more like a child's portion.

Small typical restaurant recommended by our landlord located in a small town not far from Triberg im Schwartzwald and its waterfalls. A friendly, courteous and efficient welcome and service. A typical generous and delicious menu (Spaetzle with cheese, Maueltachen, schnitzel...). Value for money more than correct. Recommended! Be careful, the children's portion is huge 😀

We have gone twice for dinner, the first time they told us that the kitchen was closed even though it was not closing time yet. The second time we went at the correct time and they told us that the free tables were reserved, however we came back 20 minutes later and those tables were still free and the chairs had been cleared. Apart from the girl who was quite unfriendly. We went to dinner at the town pizzeria and it was a success.

We did the intense 2 nights of dinner, the first night they did not serve us due to schedule, very understandable, however we repeated a second night on schedule, and on this occasion they did not serve us because we did not reserve in advance, our surprise was that after 15 minutes the supposedly reserved tables were empty... it gave the impression that they did NOT want to serve us because we were Spaniards with children.

The cheese spaetzle was very tasty!! The sausage salad was good, the bread was horrible (cheapest industrial gray bread, only one slice) and you couldn't order butter because the restaurant only has cooking butter 🤔 so overall the stop is worth it for the food. The service, however, was very poor!! We felt rather less welcome throughout, it was a huge disruption because the tables were all reserved (from 7 p.m.!), we were there at 6 p.m. and assured that we would be gone then. A number of people were sent away and we basically sat on other guests' laps while ¾ of the garden was empty, but we were only allowed to take this table. If we hadn't been in such a rush because of our daughter's bedtime, we would have left right away. The question about the butter was answered as if we came from the moon and the guests around us weren't treated very kindly either. The garden is quite pretty, it's right on the main street, but traffic was okay. Plus point, there was a high chair 👌🏻 and children's meals, but our daughter didn't get any cutlery (service was inattentive, did I mention that 😉?!) Conclusion: you can do it, but unfortunately cordiality is absolutely absent here (at least with this one service person)

Salad buffet very tasty. The schnitzel had way too much pepper. The Cordon Bleu was also way too spicy because everything underneath the breading was full of paprika powder. Unfortunately, the cheese that makes up a Cordon Bleu was only minimally present, if at all. The fries were not crispy at all. We ate here because of the good reviews. Unfortunately very disappointing because we didn't finish the food because of the taste. Service didn't ask or react to the still full plates.

Family pension in the Forest with typical meals of the region. The portions are very generous and with a pleasant atmosphere.

When we arrived they said we only had 1.5 hours to eat something. After waiting half an hour we still hadn't seen a map. The tables next to us were also looking around when someone came to order or when they were going to get their food. We heard from 1 couple that they had not received any drinks after waiting an hour. We then went to another restaurant where we were served immediately.

Currywurst with Pomnes for 11.40 euros. Hey guys, that's not possible, I think it's a rip-off, but also think about the families who don't have that much money at their disposal.

Rustic cozy... only the starters but up to this point everything is top notch... the landlady and waitress are hard-working and attentive... can only get better until the main course... and there are two of them on Friday... respect

We ate there on Saturday, the salad wasn't dressed at all and totally dry, the currywurst only had hot ketchup on top and curry powder with very little fries. The price-performance ratio is not right there at all. Never again.

This is the tastiest apple strudel I've ever tasted! Nice and warm apple strudel with warm vanilla sauce and cream and 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. For my main course I had a cordon bleu with fries. The fries were sufficient, but could have been more. But it is highly recommended, very tasty! You can put the salad together at the counter however you like.

Rustic inn with traditional furnishings.... Rich selection even outside of the classic meal times.... Tasty menus that were served quickly. Very friendly manners and the dog was no problem 5 stars plus one because it couldn't be better ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+⭐.....thank you very much, see you next time...

The Klosterstüble is highly recommended all around. Very tasty food (the three of us were there three times in a row, we don't usually do this on vacation), varied, great service with speed and friendliness. Great all around and always worth a visit. Top!!!!

Unironicly the best cordon bleu I've ever had. The Strudel was very nice too.

We ate in the beer garden. The salad from the buffet was super tasty and fresh. I really enjoyed the “Swiss Schnitzel”, the breaded schnitzels were delicious and the service was friendly and prompt. There were no gluten-free options on the menu.

We have been to this cozy restaurant several times now, The waitresses are super friendly and enthusiastic. The food is just great and what I like best is that I almost burnt myself every time, the food is really really hot when it comes to the table and stays decently hot for a while. This is just perfect for my taste, you can enjoy your meal in peace. Not like in some other restaurants where the food comes to the table almost lukewarm and you wolf down the food in batches before it is completely cold. And you can put together your own salad at the salad buffet. Conclusion: If you value great service, really tasty freshly prepared hot food and a pleasant atmosphere, this is the place for you. Always my pleasure.

the käsespätzle is one of the best dish ive had on this side of germany. beef roast was also amazing! highly recommend to stop here after a hike and eat up.

Very good food, you could taste what was homemade. And it was simply delicious. It started with the salad dressing. We were thrilled. The atmosphere is very cozy and nice staff.

We visited on a Saturday evening and had reserved a table, which we would recommend. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We also liked the decor, although the tables were a bit cramped. Unfortunately, the food didn't really impress us. The salad buffet seemed rather sad and the salads were disappointing in taste. The salad dressing was inedible. The main course, the turkey schnitzel, was very tender and well fried, but the cognac cream sauce ruined everything. We hadn't experienced such a thick and tasteless sauce in a long time. The dessert saved the whole thing a little, although you can't go wrong with an affogato either. We were really looking forward to the food and were convinced by the reviews, but we won't be coming back.

Food and service were good. The ambience is great. This is how you imagine a restaurant in the Black Forest. On top of that, there is a cuckoo clock in the room.

Quaintly furnished, good middle-class restaurant. The service was top. Very child friendly. The food was OK but nothing special. The salad buffet was quite clear.

At least the food was good and there was a good smell of food too... but after a while there was a very strange smell and the staff were shouting instead of speaking normally. And then they made us sit with other people at the same table when instead we wanted to have a quiet evening. For people who want to relax and feel safe it is the worst place in Schönwald.

Suuuuper leckeres Essen zu fairen Preisen. Wir hatten unter anderem Rinderleber und Wildtopf, alles sehr gut und reichlich.Die Bedienung war sehr herzlich und nach einem kleinem Missverständnis wurden wir noch auf einen Absacker eingeladen.Wir hatten 2 wunderschöne, gesellige Abende und können das Restaurant wärmstes weiterempfehlen!!!!

Durchgehend warme Küche an 3 Tagen,was es heute fast nicht mehr gibt!!! Sehr netter Service, freundlich und sehr kompetent... Die Käsespätzle wie bei meiner Oma daheim!!!! Die Rinderleber mit Bratkartoffeln super frisch und geschmacklich perfekt...Der Chef sehr kompetent und freundlich,aber auch das Personal...der Kellner,welcher in die Mittagspause gegangen ist hat sich von uns herzlich verabschiedet,einfach toll!!!! Wir waren heute zum Mittagessen da. Das Essen war reichlich und sehr lecker. Die Wartezeit nicht allzu lange und der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Kinder die wir dabei hatten sind super lieb versorgt worden. Ich komme gerne wieder. :)

Haben 6 Tage Urlaub in Schönwald verbracht.waren zum Abendessen dort.sehr nettes Personal. Unser 🐕 war sehr willkommen und bekam gleich eine Schüssel Wasser! Das Essen schmeckte sehr lecker! Preisleistung super! Wir werden nächstes Jahr 100% wieder dort speisen.

sehr netter Wirt, trotz vieler Resirvierung hat er es uns möglich gemacht das wir Platz fanden. Auch ein Lop an den Koch, wir hatten die überbackenen Maultaschen und das Holzfällerstaeck, war sehr lecker!

Autentico restaurante Aleman Buena comida y buen precio 24 euros de media por cabeza Camarero Español, un encanto.

Wir sind spontan zu zweit dort hin und haben auch direkt einen Platz bekommen. Super nettes Personal, der Hauptgang kam sofort als wir mit unserem Salat fertig waren, auf Essen mussten wir also garnicht warten, Wahnsinn! Preise sind vielleicht nicht ohne, aber die Portionen groß, wir satt und mit dem Essen auch mehr als zufrieden! Seit langem die besten Käsespätzle gehabt.

Wir fühlten uns sofort wohl. Das Essen war super! Rinderbraten Geschnetzeltes auf den Punkt, die Käsespätzle sehr lecker und die Pommes zim Cordon Bleu auch ohne Ketchup/ Majo ein Genuss. Das beste: viele aus dem Ort kamen nach und nach für ein Schwätzchen und ein Bier rum. Das sagt viel für das Klosterstüble! Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend

The service was very slow, and the food wasn't that great. But I think the kitchen had a bad day as the ambulance arrived. We had a bad experience because ethe food took 2 hours to be served.. but then again.. I thibk someone in the kitchen got affected and that's why the ambulance was there

Tolles Lokal mit leckerem Essen.

Sehr freundlicher Service. Selbst als es sehr voll war, sind alle freundlich und geduldig geblieben. Kinder bekommen ihr Essen vorab. Das fanden wir super! Das Essen war hervorragend. In der Pfanne gebratene Schnitzel, frische Qualität und ein gutes Preis Leistungs Verhältnis. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend !

Na een uur en een half wachten kregen we eindelijk ons eten, wat veel te weinig was gezien de prijs. Er zijn zeker betere alternatieven hier in de regio.

Schönes gemütliches Restaurant. Der Service war flott und aufmerksam. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Das Salatbuffet war jetzt nicht der Burner aber das ist, wie bekanntlich alles, reine Geschmacksache. Ich hatte einen Rostbraten. Dieser war Appetitlicht angerichtet ind hat auch gut geschmeckt.
