Restaurant Kempten in Kempten (Allgäu)

Unfortunately, the Rani Mahal could not live up to my expectations of an authentic Indian restaurant. From the first glance at the dishes, it became clear that fresh vegetables were largely avoided - instead, the plates were mainly made up of ready-made vegetables. This not only reduces the taste, but also the feeling of getting a carefully prepared meal. The portions were surprisingly small for the price. It was disappointing that the dish was served rather lukewarm. Especially with Indian food, which relies on strong, warming spices, this significantly reduces the enjoyment. In terms of taste, the food was not convincing: the flavors seemed flat and unbalanced, as if they only harmonized with each other superficially instead of coming together in a round, spicy overall picture. Ultimately, the price-performance ratio really left a lot to be desired. Given the quality and size of the portions, I think the prices are excessive, as the bill makes clear. Overall, there are certainly better options for Indian food lovers who value freshness, authentic taste and reasonable prices. Unfortunately I probably won't be coming back.

We have been there very often for the buffet (Sat/Sun lunchtime). The price of €13.90 is uniquely affordable and the food is delicious. The staff is super friendly...we look forward to the next time🤩
