Here you can eat delicious food in a very nice atmosphere. The staff is also super friendly. Only recommended!

We went there for the third time yesterday and love it. But unfortunately the rump steak was only lukewarm and cold towards the end. How does something like this come about? But it was delicious even cold, but given the very high prices it should have been served hot. But we could have said so and didn't. The baked vegetables and the sweet potato fries were hot and, as always, very good, as was the mousse au chocolat, although last time it tasted more intensely like chocolate. We are still fans of this restaurant and if the meat is too cold next time we will tell you straight away and I am sure that something will be remedied.

Unfortunately, we had different expectations: the description was great, the ambiance too, but the food was truly mediocre... The risotto was a real disappointment. We tried ordering the mineral water three times... I eventually gave up. We won't be going back.

The location of the restaurant is awesome. It's just beautiful and pleasant to eat there. We had a waiter who provided first class service. The chef also did a masterful job. Everything here is 100% self-made! No doubts ;) The prices are absolutely justified, it's just a taste explosion!

Not a good price/performance ratio. Unfortunately one of the meals was served lukewarm. My veal schnitzel was very dry, the fried potato was simply fried in oil, unfortunately not crispy at all but dripping with fat. Unfortunately, the quality of the food (no longer) corresponds to the higher prices. The prices are at Swiss level. I didn't like the ambience inside the ship; it was far too bright and the furnishings were far too old-fashioned and dark. It was nicer on the outside terrace in summer.

The ambience and service get 4 stars. The food, however, only TWO!! Reason as follows: My wife and I had the pepperoni as a starter. My wife had pike perch in panko dough as the main course and I had English rump steak. The next morning my wife had massive diarrhea and I had massive vomiting, which resulted in the half-digested steak coming out. Now after several days my stomach has recovered relatively well. Since other people at the table ate something different, they didn't have any problems. My opinion: The common connection points to the pepperoni, which may not have been 100% ok. Otherwise everything was good.

Here you can eat so well in an unusual atmosphere. The veal schnitzel was so good!

Unfortunately we must have had a bad day. After it took a while to take the order, drinks and bread arrived at some point. 45 minutes later we still hadn't received the starters we ordered. When asked, it was said that one would have thought that the colleague had already cleared away the starter. It's a shame that there was no reasonable agreement internally. Frustrated, we left without eating because we didn't want to wait any longer and preferred to get something to eat at another restaurant. Plus point that we got the drinks on the house as compensation.

Update November 23, 2024: And again it was delicious :-) The service was nice, quick, perfect. And the ambience in the ship is just great. This time we were there with a voucher from the Fine Dine Box. Update September 5, 2021: It was first class again. The Black Angus rump steak is of great quality and cooked to perfection. My wife's burger was perfect again, including bun and sauce. I was already full, but I still had to have the Snickers Ice Pop :-) And, no longer a given, a very good, typical Italian espresso. Update May 7, 2018: The second visit was also great again. Starter caramelized goat cheese crostinis, main course veal fillet medallions with asparagus ragout (green and white) and sweet potato puree. For dessert, strawberry-mint parfait. There are guaranteed to be more visits. First impression from February 25, 2018: Very cozy atmosphere on the ship. The food was top class. The veal fillet, cooked sous vide, was excellent. And my wife's burger was great too.

It was such a beautiful atmosphere And a great meal. I would love to come back and can only recommend it to everyone :)

A very idyllic place and a great restaurant right on the Rhine. Eating on a ship is special, but the whole ambience, the great service and the three really exceptionally friendly and courteous young men make this visit perfect. I was very excited! Unfortunately I live 45 minutes away, but I will definitely come back when I'm in Mannheim again!

Die Heimat in Mannheim ist ein wunderschönes rustikales Restaurantschiff. Wir haben am 20.09.24 auf der Heimat unsere Hochzeit gefeiert. Das Team der Heimat hat unseren Tag zu einem unvergesslichen schönen Ereignis gemacht. Das Essen und der Service waren wie IMMER grandios. Wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder, auch unsere Gäste die die Heimat bis zu unserer Hochzeit noch nicht kannten waren begeistert. Das Team der Heimat ist sehr hervorzuheben, sie sind alle sehr aufmerksam, nicht aufdringlich und äußerst nett. Es war uns eine Ehre auf der Heimat diesen besonderen Tag feiern zu dürfen! Die Heimat ist immer einen Besuch wert :-)

We celebrated our wedding here and everything was perfect. We would do it exactly the same way again. From the service to the food and ambience, everything is perfect here. The food was plentiful and consistently top quality. Our guests were also completely happy and satisfied. Big praise to the entire team who made this day so special and unforgettable. A very special location, absolutely recommended for weddings, events or even a normal dinner. We'll be back!

Really enjoy the food and the experience

The location is on a ship with a very quiet and pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant is a bit hidden, but we found it very quickly thanks to the large sign on the street and were thrilled. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We once ordered the breaded pike perch fillet and the veal schnitzel. You could tell that both dishes were of very good quality, both dishes were very well prepared and filling. According to my personal taste, the spice was missing. There was very little seasoning, but you could still enjoy both dishes and their natural taste. I missed the pizzazz with potato salad and fried potatoes. For someone who likes simple dishes with few spices, it would have been perfect. The location is really very nice, I haven't been able to enjoy such a beautiful view from a restaurant in a long time!

Sehr schönes Ambiente aber umständlich zu erreichen, nichts für Menschen, die Gehprobleme haben; Servicepersonal gab sich Mühe, Preise im gehobenen Segment, jedoch nicht gerechtfertigt, Rumpsteak habe ich hier in meiner Region schon besser gegessen, war zu durch und nicht so zart, denke nicht, dass es Roastbeef war, das kann ich zuhause besser, aber gut gewürzt war es, kein Brotteller, Tisch war voller Krümel, Brotcreme war nichts besonderes, Lage ist wunderschön, es wird aber kein 2tes Mal geben für mich.

The home is located somewhat out of the way and invites guests to enjoy their food in a very cozy setting. The service staff was very nice and always available. Extra requests were always implemented immediately without any problems. The food was very good. I was able to try it out completely. Starting with the crispy fries / sweet potato fries to the crispy chicken burger and the juicy hamburger. The portions were decent and you fill up well. The price is also okay and you should calculate around €30-40 per person. There are enough parking spaces available. Credit cards are accepted. What more could you want? Unfortunately, I didn't see any barrier-free access for guests in wheelchairs. Conclusion: We were very impressed by the ambience, food, staff and view and therefore I can recommend it.

Our wedding celebration at home was fantastic, everything went perfectly. The food has been praised by numerous guests, the location is great and the service staff are professional (attentive, well-rehearsed and in good contact with us for the daily routine). The preparations with Rita were also very pleasant and uncomplicated, for example putting together the buffet with vegan options. We researched many wedding locations in the Rhine-Neckar district in advance and would recommend the home for celebrations of around 50 guests at any time, simply an attractive overall package. The fact that you can see the prices and sample buffets directly on the website is also very helpful for preparation. Thank you for the great celebration!

Die entspannte Atmosphäre, mit gedämpftem Licht und sanfter Musik im Hintergrund, lädt zum Verweilen ein. Das maritime, aber gemütliche Ambiente schafft eine perfekte Kulisse für einen gelungenen Abend. Das Essen ist ein wahrer Gaumenschmaus! Jedes Gericht ist nicht nur köstlich, sondern auch eine Augenweide. Das freundliche und zuvorkommende Personal rundet das Erlebnis ab.

Discovered by chance on our motorboat tour. Own jetty with boat filling station. The restaurant consists of a floating ship and a floating tent, a dream! Menu bound in cowhide, great selection. Drinks came very quickly, great selection. Food blew us away in terms of quality, it was really convincing. AHOI, we'll be coming back to you from Worms soon.

The atmosphere on the ship is really great. The food was fantastic, as a starter there was the crunchy prawns, as a skin course the salmon from the daily menu with grilled vegetables and rosemary potatoes and of course a dessert. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality, the staff is friendly but not intrusive. All in all we had a very nice evening.

A special place! Away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, the ship is located on the Rhine and here at the harbor entrance to the Motor Yacht Club. We felt at home immediately upon entering the ship. A very pleasant, unobtrusive but personal atmosphere. The food came quite quickly and we enjoyed it excellently. We had crunchy prawns and sea bream (fillet). Price/performance is really top. We'd love to come back. Thanks to the entire team.

I've been here sporadically over the years and this place has been consistently great every single time...from cuts of beef to both beef & veggie burgers to pasta offerings, every meal has been a hit and the servers friendly & accommodating. Even if this place didn't have the riverboat ambience, I'd still rate it as a top go-to local restaurant to visit. 🙂

We arrived at 5.45pm on Sunday without prior reservation and were turned away again, even though there were only two people and the place was half empty. The operators can only hope that the many reservations from 7 p.m., because of which we were not given a table, actually arrived. We then went to a restaurant in Rheinau-Süd, which we left at 6:55 p.m. satisfied and full.

Very friendly, the food is fantastic. The Wiener Schnitzel, advertised as legendary, is really legendary. Top.

Ein altes Schiff als Restaurant! Das Essen ist super!

Ganzes Restaurant riecht wie in einem Kleintierzuchtverein. Schiff liegt schräg und das merkt man beim Sitzen. Essen zwar sehr teuer, allerdings hat es gut geschmeckt. Erfahrung war nicht schlecht, es gibt aber wirklich bessere Alternativen in der Gegend.

Es war fantastisch! Wir waren am 2. Weihnachtsfeiertag da und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Sowohl Vorspeise als auch Hauptgänge und Dessert haben auf ganzer Linie überzeugt. Das Fleisch war auf den Punkt gegart, der Lachs hatte eine knusprige Kruste und die Nudeln eine perfekte Konsistenz. Die Soßen waren super cremig und insgesamt war alles toll abgeschmeckt. Des Weiteren ist die Location etwas besonderes und der Service war sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Allgemein haben wir nie auf Getränke oder Speisen warten müssen, alles war super getimet. Alles in allem überzeugt das Restaurant Heimat mit extrem leckeren Gerichten, einer tollen Location und seiner Gastfreundschaft. Ich war begeistert und komme, für einen besonderen Tag, gerne wieder!

Waren zu fünft sehr gut Speisen. Es gab die Weihnachtskarte mit einer gut ausgesuchten Variation von Speisen die alte sehr gut waren. Sehr nette Kellner die sich hervorragend zum und gekümmert haben! Ein großes Danke an Personal und Küche!
