der Zwiebelrostbraten (und auch der Vorspeisensalat) ist /sind schlichtweg perfekt. Respekt!

Eine kleine aber feine Speisekarte sorgt für einen echten Gaumenschmaus. Hier werden regionale Produkte zum Kochen verwendet. In der Speisekarte werden die regionalen Lieferanten benannt. Das Personal ist immer freundlich und zuvorkommend, was gleichermaßen für den Inhaber und seine Frau gilt. Mein absolutes Highlight ist das Marktplatzpfännle. Letztens haben wir beim Jo ein Catering für ca. 100 Personen bestellt und alle unsere Gäste waren begeistert. Ich kann jedem nur einen Besuch bei Jo und seiner Crew empfehlen!!!

Ich war am Dienstag den 14.07.2026 in Bad Saulgau. Wollte abends noch ein Restaurant aufsuchen. Bin dabei zufällig auf dieses tolle Lokal getroffen. Ich bekam trotz später Stunde noch was zum Essen. Die Bedienung war ein der freundlichen Menschen wo mir je begegnet sind. Wenn ich wieder dort bin gehe ich wieder dort hin zum Essen. Dieses Mal aber am Tag . Den Koch darf man aber auch nicht vergessen. Weiter so. Ihr seit SPITZE . Ihr bekommt 10 von 5 möglichen 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Sehr zu empfehlen ist unter anderem der Grillabend mit vielfältigen und leckeren Salaten, Antipasti und Dips sowie frisch zubereitetem Fleisch und Fisch vom Grill. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und unseren Gutschein aus dem Schlemmerblock konnten wir ohne Probleme einlösen.

Die gesamte Küche ist wirklich top, aber das absolute Highlight waren die Maultaschen – die waren einfach genial und hausgemacht, das schmeckt man. Der Service war zudem super freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Wir haben unsere standesamtliche Hochzeit im Saal im Haus am Markt gefeiert und sind sehr glücklich mit dieser Entscheidung. Auch der Sektempfang wurde vom Team organisiert. Es hat alles super geklappt! Das Essen war lecker, das Team sehr freundlich und flexibel und es wurde immer auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen. Wir konnten auch am Vorabend den Raum dekorieren, der wirklich ein sehr schönes Ambiente bietete. Frau Zimmerer-Buhles war immer sehr nett und hilfbereit, jede Absprache war auf unse Vorstellungen abgestimmt. Es war ein wirklich schöner Tag, danke!

Wir haben gestern unsere Hochzeit im Saal vom Haus am Markt gefeiert. Mit Sektempfang, Kaffee und Kuchen und Buffet. Der Service ließ keine Wünsche offen. Das Essen kam pünktlich und war mega lecker. Der Saal war super hergerichtet. Wir hatten nicht viel Arbeit mit der Dekoration. Vielen vielen Dank für eure freundliche und liebe Art uns in allem zu unterstützen und all unsere Wünsche und Ansprüche zu erfüllen.

Toller Service und wirklich sehr gutes Essen. Wir hatten Schnitzel mit Pommes und Salat, außerdem Käsespätzle mit Salat. Hervorragende Qualität und tolles Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Immer gerne wieder.

Wir haben hier unsere Hochzeit gefeiert und es war ein absolut unvergesslicher Tag. Besonderer Dank gilt Frau Zimmerer-Buhles, die von der Planung im Vorfeld bis zur Umsetzung vor Ort alles perfekt koordiniert hat. Alle Wünsche wurden gehört und erfüllt. Vom Sektempfang bis zum Abendessen hat alles gestimmt – das Essen war hervorragend und hat uns und unsere Gäste begeistert. Die Location ist wunderschön, direkt am Marktplatz gelegen. Der Tanz in den Mai auf dem Marktplatz bei bestem Wetter war die perfekte Krönung. Es hätte nicht schöner sein können, absolute Empfehlung, sei es für eine Tasse Kaffee oder für besondere Anlässe!

Wir sind über die Umgebungssuche auf dieses Restaurant aufmerksam geworden. Schon beim Blick auf die Speisekarte online hat uns die Regionalität der Zutaten sofort angesprochen. Vor Ort hat sich dieser erste Eindruck absolut bestätigt. Das Restaurant befindet sich in einem wunderschönen alten Haus mit einem sehr einladenden Außenbereich. Ambiente, Einrichtung und Atmosphäre wirken authentisch, gemütlich und gepflegt. Da aktuell Spargelzeit ist, waren auch die Empfehlungen der Küche saisonal darauf abgestimmt. Wir haben uns allerdings bewusst dagegen entschieden, weil wir unbedingt die typischen schwäbischen Spezialitäten probieren wollten. Unsere Wahl fiel auf ein Pfannengericht mit Schweinemedaillons, Gemüse, Spätzle und Champignonsoße, ein Schnitzel Wiener Art mit Bratensoße und handgeschabten Spätzle sowie Maultaschen mit schwäbischem Kartoffelsalat und Bratensoße. Zum Schnitzel gab es zusätzlich einen Beilagensalat, den ich direkt noch zu den Maultaschen dazu bestellt habe. Der Salat war frisch, abwechslungsreich und liebevoll angerichtet mit Rotkraut, Rettich, Gurke, Tomate, Blattsalaten und Radieschensprossen. Geschmacklich war wirklich alles hervorragend. Die Pfanne war wunderbar abgestimmt, das Gemüse mit Möhren, Bohnen und Spargel perfekt gegart, die Medaillons auf den Punkt gebraten und die Champignonsoße sehr aromatisch. Das Schnitzel war wunderbar souffliert und die Spätzle bei beiden Gerichten genau so, wie man sie sich im Schwabenland wünscht: handgeschabt und richtig lecker. Die Maultaschen waren für mich dann das absolute Highlight. Ich war ehrlich sprachlos. Zusammen mit der unglaublich guten Bratensoße, den Schmorzwiebeln und dem schwäbischen Kartoffelsalat war das einfach ein großartiges Gericht. Am liebsten hätte ich die Rezepte direkt mit nach Hause genommen. Die Getränke kamen nach der Bestellung schnell an den Tisch. Lediglich das Getränk unseres Sohnes wurde zunächst vergessen, kam nach kurzer Nachfrage aber sofort. Auch ein verschmutztes Weinglas wurde ohne Diskussion direkt ausgetauscht. Wie bereits auf der Karte beschrieben, dauert das Essen etwas länger als anderswo, was man aber deutlich merkt, da hier alles frisch à la minute zubereitet wird. Für uns absolut nachvollziehbar und die Qualität spricht am Ende für sich. Preis-Leistung, Ambiente, Küche und Service waren insgesamt wirklich klasse. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam, freundlich und professionell. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Wow waren gestern Abend essen un durch begeistert, Ambiente Service und das essen einfach alles perfekt! Vorab gab es eine Rinderbouillon mit Flädle die sehr kräftig geschmeckt hat. Meine Freundin hatte das Oderschwäbisches Landschweinerückensteak mit Bärlauchkruste auf Spargelragout mit Petersilien Kartoffeln. Sie war begeistert! Ich hatte ein Zwiebelrostbraten (medium Rare ) vom Heimischen Weiderind mit Spätzle. Wir kommen vielleicht gleich heute nochmal. Weiter so.

Alles war gut, reichlich und der Preis war auch in Ordnung. Gerne wieder ⭐️👍

Wir sind durch Empfehlung in der „Glutenfree App“ auf dieses Restaurant aufmerksam geworden. Vom Ambiente über den Service bis zum Essen ist alles gehoben! Besonders hervorzuheben ist für uns der Umgang mit dem Thema Zöliakie: das haben wir so in Deutschland selten erlebt. Unaufgeregt umsorgt, wirklich ein sehr schönes Erlebnis. Auch ohne das Thema Zöliakie ist diese Restaurant auf allen Ebenen zu empfehlen. Preis-Leistung passt ebenfalls.

Wir sind rundum begeistert vom Catering des Restaurants Haus am Markt in Bad Saulgau. Die Qualität der Speisen war hervorragend und der Service erstklassig. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut top. Besonders hervorzuheben sind der persönliche Kontakt sowie die kompetente und ausführliche Beratung – immer freundlich, zuverlässig und professionell. Alles hat reibungslos und perfekt geklappt. Eine klare Empfehlung, wir würden jederzeit wieder dort bestellen! Uns wurden die Hauptspeise in chaving dishes geliefert und die Fingerfood Gerichte auf Platten bzw. in kleinen Gläsern. Wir hatten Fleischküchle, Schnitzel und Bratkartoffeln mit drei verschiedenen Sossen als Hauptgericht sowie diverses Fingerfood und Dessert für 35 Personen.

Essen und Service waren einfach hervorragend. Für Menschen mit Zöliakie ist dieses Restaurant wirklich ein Traum. Mein Mann ist Zöliakie-Betroffener, und es war großartig, dass es so viele glutenfreie Optionen gab. Alles, was wir probiert haben, war unglaublich lecker, wirklich sehr köstlich. 🤤 Der Service war außergewöhnlich aufmerksam und herzlich. Unsere Bedienung war sehr freundlich, und sogar der Küchenchef kam an unseren Tisch, um uns ein paar Dinge zu erklären. Ich bin schwanger und hatte einige spezielle Wünsche. Das wurde super professionell und mit viel Verständnis umgesetzt. Insgesamt war es eine rundum tolle Erfahrung. Dazu kommt ein sehr angenehmes Ambiente. Wir empfehlen das Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiter und würden sehr gern wiederkommen!

The food is really very good. We were a group of nine and got the wonderful table in the side room. We started at 6:30 pm, and at 8 pm we were asked if we wanted to order another coffee; otherwise, they would clean the machine. We also had to order dessert in a hurry because there weren't many people in the restaurant and the kitchen was about to close. That's a real way to drive away your customers...

We had a reservation for Sunday evening, November 9th, 2025. We ordered "Saulgau venison ragout" and "Saulgau market square pan-fried dishes." Everything was absolutely fantastic – it tasted really delicious, and you could tell that everything was cooked from scratch and not served "ready-made" food. It was also beautifully presented. We'll be back!

We celebrated our grandfather's 90th birthday at the Haus am Markt in Bad Saulgau – with 26 adults and 9 children – and it was simply wonderful! The food was outstanding – fresh, lovingly prepared, and delicious! A huge compliment to the chefs, who cooked with skill and passion. The service team was attentive, friendly, and always available without being intrusive. The children were also very well looked after, which we particularly appreciated. The ambiance in the restaurant is cozy and stylish at the same time – perfect for a family celebration. The restaurant has a screen with suitable technology for showing slide shows or films. Furthermore, the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Everything was perfectly organized, and we felt completely at home. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Haus am Markt for this special day. We can truly recommend the restaurant wholeheartedly – ​​for parties, family celebrations, or simply a lovely evening for two!

The food was good, nothing to complain about, and the dish was delicious. What bothered me was the opinionated waiter. Instead of engaging with the customer, he started a never-ending argument. The reason: A "Russ" is a yeast beer with sweet fizz, and I had received mine with sour fizz. When asked about it, he said, "In all the bars he'd worked at so far, they'd always made it with sour fizz." Then he probably hadn't worked in many places. There was no tip.

We visited the Haus am Markt again today and chatted with the waitress. She said it's easier for people to use negative words than to say something positive. That's true for us, too: Bad, uncreative food, unfriendly staff, an uncomfortable atmosphere, and exorbitant prices – all unpleasant attributes – absolutely NOT true! Highly recommended! Enthusiastic! We were here today because of the gourmet block and were given a very friendly welcome. Super nice waitress and the food was incredibly tasty. We had onion roast and rump steak and will definitely come back soon. Great Swabian and home-style cuisine. At the next table a dish was ordered for several people and it also looked fantastic!

On May 1st, 2025, we were lucky enough to get two seats outside (without pre-booking) in bright sunshine. The menu is a delight. The service was perfect and the food was so good and beautifully prepared that I said hello to the kitchen. Any time and gladly again.

Today we had lunch at the market with the whole family - two adults and two children aged six and two. We felt very comfortable as soon as we entered. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere, home-style cuisine and fair prices. Families with children are also very welcome here, which we particularly liked. The food was delicious and freshly prepared, the staff friendly and attentive. We can fully recommend Haus am Markt and would be happy to come back!

This was our first time in this restaurant. We had reserved in advance, which would not have been necessary due to the number of guests. Nevertheless, the food took a while, which wouldn't have been so bad, but unfortunately it was only lukewarm. It's a shame, it tasted good. Unfortunately there was no apology, but an espresso for my wife and a drink was not charged. We will not visit this restaurant again.

After waiting for over an hour we received our delicious food... Good quality and freshly prepared...

It was our first time there, unfortunately we were very disappointed. Eternal waiting times even though the restaurant was empty. We also specifically asked whether the sausage salad was made with Lyonnais, which was answered in the affirmative. When the food finally came after ONE HOUR, the sausage salad was of course with ham sausage, so we sent it back. The reaction from the service staff was outrageous! No real apology, no compensation, just nothing! 2 out of 6 people had nothing to eat. Portions are really small for the price, meat was medium and very tough, so no one ate it. In addition, a gravy was made instead of cream even though you explicitly said what you wanted. So all in all a single disappointment except for the ambience, which was very nice.

Ich war kürzlich mit Freunden in diesem Restaurant und kann nur sagen, dass es eine enttäuschende Erfahrung war. Zuerst wurden uns schmutzige Gläser serviert – das ist einfach inakzeptabel! Die Kässpätzle, auf die ich mich gefreut hatte, kamen ohne Käse und waren total ölig. Nach unserer Beschwerde wurde das Essen zwar mitgenommen, aber als es zurückkam, war es einfach nur mit erhitztem Käse überstreut. Das ist nicht das, was man unter „Kässpätzle“ versteht! Die Kellnerin hatte anscheinend keinen blassen Schimmer, wem welcher Teller gehörte. Wir mussten selbst herausfinden, welcher Teller zu wem gehörte – das ist wirklich der Gipfel der Unprofessionalität. Insgesamt war das Essen enttäuschend oder besser gesagt miserabel. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nicht empfehlen und werde sicher nicht wiederkommen.

Perfekt um in Bad Saulgau einen kulinarischen Abend zu verbringen. Wir waren zu Besuch in Bad Saulgau und haben den Abend im Restaurant Haus am Markt verbracht. Rundum gelungen und lecker. Besonders haben uns die Maultaschen und der Zwiebelrostbraten gefallen, aber auch alle anderen Gerichte haben durch ihre Qualität, die Liebe zum Detail überzeugt. Man merkt, dass regionale Zutaten verwendet werden. Wir kommen wieder!!!

After the meal there was no more service. 4-5 were bustling around behind the counter but no eye for the last guests after lunch. Had to go to the counter and point out the problem to service.

Dezentes modernes Innen-Ambiente in historischem Fachwerkhaus und ausgezeichneter Küche zu angemessenen Preisen. Störend - zumindest für mich: Die überzogenen Weinpreise. 8,50 € für 0,2 l günstigsten Wein hätten mich als Wein- statt Biertrinker vermutlich von eine Tischreservierung in diesem schönen Haus abgehalten, wäre die Getränkekarte auf der Website zu sehen gewesen

Unglaublich lecker! Laden war voll und die Bedienung dennoch auf Zack. Hat alles gut abgearbeitet. Essen einfach Klasse! Fleisch gut. Extra Bratkartoffeln dazu bestellt. Die wurden mit ordentlich Petersilie zubereitet und serviert - eine Augenweide ;) Und die undefinierbaren rosa Kügelchen entpuppten sich auf Nachfrage als blanchierte Radieschen. Wo ist hier das Herz-Emoji? Sehr schönes Lokal mit gehobenerer gutbürgerlichen -und vor allem regionaler- Küche. Empfehlung!

Traditional cuisine with a manageable vegetarian menu without any special sophistication: salad, cheese spaetzle, cheese (vesper) board and ice cream. The special menu also offered a sweet potato soup, linguine with porcini mushrooms and parmesan (!!) that was declared vegetarian, and a dessert again with ice cream (with yogurt and meringue). A total of two vegan dishes were available, equally lacking in creativity/sophistication. In terms of taste, the salad, spinach dumplings and the aforementioned yoghurt ice cream were good, the craftsmanship was solid and the minimalist/down-to-earth plate language was appealing. Prices seem cheap at first glance, but portion sizes are adjusted accordingly (they are small). The manageable range of non-alcoholic alternatives (mocktails) was positive. The restaurant itself has a simple, elegant, feminine design with a welcoming, pleasant atmosphere. The service was very friendly. Overall, a nice evening with good food, where for me personally there was just a lack of creativity in the dishes. These simple dishes are really easy for me to prepare myself (and I do). There were no culinary surprises that would motivate me to come back. A point deduction also results from the fact that the linguine with porcini mushrooms and parmesan was incorrectly declared as vegetarian, even though parmesan contains animal rennet. A chef should be conscious of the ingredients used and know what constitutes real Parmesan...

Highly recommended is the ancient half-timbered house with a restaurant both from the outside and inside

Very long waiting time and portion too small

Leider kein guter Eindruck entstanden! Zum Mittagessen 1 Stunde gewartet, lauwarm serviert (andere Gäste ließen gleich das Essen zurückgeben) werde nicht mehr dort essen!

The food was really tasty, to say the least. Unfortunately, it's been a long time coming. I think that for a lunch with three pre-selected dishes the waiting time shouldn't be 45 minutes. The service was quite poor: slow, inattentive and not particularly friendly. It was noticeable that the service staff sometimes had the plates with their thumbs in the bowl or definitely too close to the food. That was ultra disgusting. Why don't you take a tray? Even when drinking, the glasses were touched by the drinking rim. The ambience itself is very nice, but twice now we had the misfortune of being surrounded by loud, very old and child-unfriendly people.

Very good, plentiful daily menu at normal prices. Price-performance ratio is right. Friendly staff. Can be recommended without reservation.

Very friendly staff, good food.

Very tasty food. There are even gluten and lactose free dishes!! Service very friendly. The food took a while, but it all came at once. Everything was clearly freshly made.

Had a meal there, everyone there was very friendly. Gluten-free and vegan are specifically stated on the menu. I thought it was brilliant. The food was very, very tasty and the portion too. Unfortunately I didn't manage to finish it, my husband did. The salad that came with it was very fresh and tasty. Everything was great, keep it up and I'm looking forward to the next time.

In every respect a successful combination of traditional and modern. Quality, friendliness, price-performance, ambience... if you want to criticize, you have to look. But even then it would be whining on a high level. Definitely a recommendation. I simply cannot believe some of the descriptions from bad reviews. I advise the others to get a second impression; if you say "We won't be back" you are denying yourself the opportunity to have a good meal. Top!

We had to wait over an hour for the food, there was hair in the food and it wasn't seasoned, we didn't like it or taste it at all, not everything on the menu was available.
