The owner writes himself that he no longer runs the restaurant.

When I read the reviews I thought I have to go there, I only saw positive reviews on Google. However, I didn't think the pizzas were of the best quality and the staff wasn't very professional either. Nevertheless, you do feel like you are in Italy. A great place near Kürfurstendamm and Wittenbergplatz.

We ordered our meals and half an hour later something totally different was delivered with a statement from a waitress: the kitchen gave mi this, they now only have this left 😂 Then when approaching another staff (she claimed to be a manager) I heard: You didn't order it with me, talk to my waitress So that was the worst service I have ever experienced. You should not run a restaurant if you treat your customers this way

Very disappointed in this restaurant service! We made a reservation weeks ago and despite giving confirmation and coming 10 minutes early, as agreed, they gave our table away to people who didn’t have one. Their only solution was to make us wait outside in the cold and windy weather. We waited 20 minutes. All the tables were full with no intention to leave soon. After receiving no news, we eventually decided to leave and fortunately we found a better and lovely restaurant “ Da Lucia” just in the corner. People with reservation should have the priority and in case you mess it up, it’s up to you to find a reasonable solution. Making us wait in the cold and giving no information is not one of them. The staff could have handled it better.

With what courage should I return. Everything overcooked, I book the table and it's not there even though I'm on time and all the flavors are garlic

Unreliable restaurant. we booked three weeks in advance knowing that as there was a marathon on the weekend the restaurants would be crowded. In the afternoon they called us to tell us not to be late. We arrived ten minutes early and our table wasn't there. We were told to wait five minutes.... After twenty minutes and no consideration we decided to change restaurant. Never a better choice. And we certainly ate very well in the Lucia restaurant and were waited on hand and foot

Lousy food, poor service and dirty shop, plus blatant tax evasion!

ordered a diavola pizza which was supposed to have salami but was prosciutto. Gave me food poisoning, 2 hours later was on the toilet...through the eye of a needle, avoid!!

I used to like Gino's but the quality has certainly dropped and the cash only policy needs to go especially when then server decides to not give the change and take their own tip. Disappointing

The food and the location are top. The staff sometimes have major language barriers in English and German, which often leads to misunderstandings. Among other things, the explicit question about serving wine was/could/did not be answered.

This is a very nice restaurant with a terrace on the street. Real nice italian platters. I liked the prosciutto and the drinks but also the salmon salad was great. Also the tiramisu was good.

Great proof that ratings aren't everything. The waitress is quite rustic, with training. He sat down at the adjacent table to smoke :D Macaroni rubber, uncooked. And so they got lost in the water (as I understand it, they were not able to sink normally). It's the first time I've seen pasta served with pineapple on top. Offered table water. For 7.5€. are you kidding me?? The overall experience is strange. I definitely wouldn't go back. It was the first visit for lunch in Berlin and I was really scared that everywhere would be so expensive and bad. Nothing like that. We found really much better places even for a lower price. Avoid this institution from afar

The waitress bring the water and didint inform that it will cost 7€. Food was terrible, pasta was not cooked proparly.

Sitting outside was great, inside it is rustically furnished. The waitresses were slightly overwhelmed and didn't know which language they should work in. I had a calzone “Gino” that just tasted very bland. Nothing is really Italian. They are very concerned about generating sales. At least that's the impression the service staff give. Maybe it's because these employees are not specialists. However, the bruschetta was very tasty…

Food is average and portions for the Pasta rather small. The white wine was terrible and overpriced with 8 EUR. Staff was nice and friendly. You may find so many better Italian places around town.

During our visit to Berlin we found this small restaurant where we comfortably had our dinner. It was a pleasant evening for us. The young waitress was very friendly and attentive. Salad and pizza were very tasty. A cocktail for dessert rounded off the evening. Only accepting cash when paying is no longer appropriate, especially in a cosmopolitan city. I would like to thank you for the good hospitality and can recommend the Gino.

Restaurant with a good location, nice atmosphere - although a bit cramped and crowded - and quite ok food. Unfortunately, the service is very inattentive, clears away half-full glasses without being asked and otherwise behaves in a rather unprofessional manner.

Really nice treatment and service. We ordered pasta and pizza and it was very good according to everyone in the family. With the family atmosphere, the good food and the pleasant reception, we will return the next time we are in Berlin. Cozy place!

Friendly staff. I had dinner here and it was pasta from the menu. Bread with olive oil was served before the food entered. Pretty tasteless dish but ok with more salt and pepper. What took it all away was when I woke up 3 hours later in the hotel and my stomach was rumbling. Had not consumed anything else in particular during the day. Plus for nice staff.

I was in Berlin for a business trip with PM International. I noticed people in Germany are intimidating, but this restaurant was the only restaurant I felt welcomed at. Looks like a family business. Very warm and welcoming. Food quality was great too!

It’s a nice place with a nice service, but the food was not great. The salad was rather plain, with not interesting dressing, only a bit of burata and the meat stripes were with no taste at all. It’s really hard to find a tasty food in Berlin so this restaurant may not be that bad compared to other neighbor restaurants.

Food was tasty, service was friendly, but we waited a long time for our food. We would have liked there to have been a statement about why everyone after us had their food much sooner.

Very good address. Not too expensive and good quality. Their mango lemonade is famous. We tried the minestrone, beef carpaccio and pasta. Everything was very good. The atmosphere is also very pleasant.

Atmosphere is very nice and service is good as well but we were disappointed by the pizza and even more by the prices. We were offered the ravioli special and took the option, thinking it would be on the expensive side of the pasta prices but it was a lot more than the other dishes (25€), the appetizer mix was delicious but also too expensive for what it is (it says 12,5€ pp so 25€ for an appetizer plate is expensive for Berlin) and the pizza was just not great pizza (dough was a bit flavourless). Also don't put mint syrup in your limoncello spritz please... It just makes me think you don't put enough limoncello in it. There are better and cheaper places in Berlin :)

We had diner here at Gino with 2 kids. Great staff and the food was really good! The pizza dough was perfect! Also the home made burrata is a signature from the chef and is amazing!

I've been in Berlin 8x times. I stayed in the hotel next door to Gino's for 10 nights in 2024 and out of 10 days I ate in Gino's 5x times. Its very good. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The pasta is amazing and the pizza is a welcome change from other places nearby (a thin crispy base with not too much dough). I can't recommend this place enough.

I've been here with my family and I must say that this place is o very good choice for dinner. Very tasty food, nice people and quick service. Helpful personnel and good food, I will conclude.

What delicious food. The flavors are amazing and it feels like you are in Italy. The people who work there, including the owner, are extremely friendly. Did I mention the food was delicious? If you want good Italian food, go there. It is small but nice, but that doesn't make the food taste any less.

The Gino restaurant in Berlin is always very popular due to its prime location, which creates a lively atmosphere. While the atmosphere is quite cozy, we noticed that the tables are quite close together, which limited privacy a bit. The service was friendly, if not always particularly attentive, and the cleanliness of the toilets could be improved. Overall, our visit was average, and although we might not visit the restaurant again in a heartbeat, we would still recommend it, especially for its great location and charming ambience.

From experience I never eat Italian cuisine abroad... but after reading various positive reviews, it deserved my attention. This evening I had dinner with my family, my son wanted pizza and my husband and I ordered two different first courses. Well yes!! I was quite surprised. Good pizza, but the pasta was really cooked well... not too cooked, not too raw... Perfect!! My most sincere compliments to the chef... The place is very characteristic, a comfortable and above all inviting environment... Very attentive and friendly staff... We'll be back...

Excellent pizzas and calzone, nice wine and friendly service. We went there twice during our week in Berlin and the waiter remembered us and made us feel very welcome.

Order food online - better not If you want to order food online for pickup, you should be careful. The delivery time is stated as 20 minutes, after a 30 minute wait we called once. The message on the smartphone: “We just need the final confirmation from the restaurant” is still running. When you call you are told that the order apparently hasn't arrived (PayPal sees it differently) and that you should come in 10 minutes to pick up the pizza. Arriving there on time, we waited another 15 minutes until we were allowed to leave without an apology or any kind of compensation. The pizza is OK, arrived home after about 100 meters, but it was already less than lukewarm. Very disappointing.

Very great restaurant. The food was very tasty and the waiter was very accommodating. The facility is great and I felt absolutely comfortable. The portions were completely sufficient for me, but for my friend it could have been a little more, but next time we'll just have an appetizer :) we'll definitely be back

Waren zu viert dort essen. Direkt von dem Wohlfühlambiente begeistert. Der Service war unglaublich aufmerksam, nicht aufdringlich und sehr freundlich. Das Essen war wunderbar. Meine Nudeln vielleicht ein wenig parmesanlastig, aber das ist Geschmackssache. Durch ein kleines (nicht nennenswertes) Missgeschick des Service-Mitarbeiters gab es aufs Haus eine sensationelle Tiramisu mit 4 Löffeln. Zum Abschluss das Angebot eines Espressos oder Digestif. Wir waren leider nur ein paar Tage nebenan im Hotel. Beim nächsten Besuch freuen wir uns wieder bei Gino Essen zu gehen. Unbedingte Empfehlung! Schade, dass es so ein Lokal nicht bei uns gibt. 😉

The staff is wonderful. Mostly why we’ve gone back a few times as well as it’s down the street, so super convenient. The food is good, but not great. I don’t love their menu that much, but they have a kids menu and are super nice to kids. Nice ambiance as well. The only downside going with kids is there are a lot of glasses on the table when you sit down and lit candle, but totally understand not catering to kids. Nice decorations and vibe.

Pizza's not worth the money; maybe the pasta is? haven't tried it. The bruschetta was nice. Even thou it was almost empty inside the restaurant, we weren't given a choice on the table/seating. Won't be coming back.

Sehr pro-aktiver Service, schön! Portion zu klein! Wenn eine Portion von der man satt werden soll oder will mehr kosten muss, dann sei es eben so! Was nicht schön ist, ist bei take out zuhause eine halbwegs befüllte Verpackung zu öffnen.

Sehr durchschnittliches Essen. Schon die Oliven, die mit dem Brot gereicht werden, schmecken nach Supermarkt. Der Nero d‘Avola war trinkbar, woanders schmeckt er besser. Das Nachwürzen meiner Linguine mit reichlich Pfeffer machte keinen Unterschied.

Wir waren spontan bei Gino essen. Das Lokal ist etwas unscheinbar. Wir konnten hier wirklich in Ruhe essen, entfernt von den ganzen Touristenströmen ;) das italienische Bier war echt lecker und die Pizzen, die ebenfalls ziemlich gelungen waren, haben uns den ganzen Tag über gesättigt gehabt. Würden jedenfalls wieder hier essen und können es wirklich gut empfehlen.

Dieses sehr schöne Restaurant ist mittlerweile meine erste Empfehlung in diesem Kietz. Hier stimmt einfach alles, von der Bedienung bis zu den wohlschmeckenden Gerichten. Das Ganze zu fairen Preisen. Wir kommen mittlerweile sehr häufig hierher.

Das Gino war sehr gut besucht und die Bedienung kamen kaum nach. Vor dem Hintergrund hier ein ganz wenig Abzug. Hatten Vorspeise und Hauptgang. Leider kam alles gleichzeitig und die Hauptspeise wurde etwas kühler weil ich ja erst die Vorspeise essen wollte. Es war aber beides von guter Qualität!

Ein sehr gemütliches kleines Restaurant mit super tollem Essen. Es hat mehr als fünf Sterne verdient.

Kleiner, gemütlicher Italiener. Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und kommen den Wünschen der Gäste nach. Preise sind für Berlin ganz normal und dafür schmeckt das Essen wirklich TOP! Als wir bezahlt haben und gerade gehen wollten, haben wir eine große Portion Tiramisu aufs Haus bekommen! 😊

Der ganze Laden völlig überteuert ! Dem Personal war das Handy wichtiger als die Gäste. Herrentoilette teilweise kaputt ( Tür, Pinkelbecken ) , und sehr schmutzig.
