Restaurant Galicia (Bürgerhaus Viernheim) in Viernheim

Unfortunately, somewhat disappointing. It's naturally a bit difficult to rate since food is, after all, a matter of taste. We were just a little unlucky, as almost everyone tried something that ultimately won't be among our favorite dishes in the future. What was annoying, though, was that something different was brought for one order – it was, of course, immediately replaced – and that bread was missing from another order, for which we unfortunately had to ask for it a few times. We were consoled for the hefty bill with a complimentary sherry. We really enjoyed the outdoor terrace.

There were five of us eating there. It's a nice restaurant, no complaints there. A nice restaurant with a few problems. Our reserved table had a water stain, but we didn't think much of it until we realized it was coming from the ceiling – a classic case of water damage. When we told our waiter, his reaction was completely unexpected. I quote: "Oh no, that happens sometimes." So, I gather they'd already had problems with water damage and hadn't done anything about it. They waited until we noticed something. That's outrageous. At least the waiter moved us to another table. When our appetizers finally arrived after 20 minutes, they were cold. We ordered bruschetta, which is served on warm, grilled bread. Well, that was a complete disappointment too. After about 40 minutes, we started to wonder why our main courses still hadn't arrived. When it had been almost an hour, we asked the waitress who had taken our order how much longer it would take. She told us she didn't know and would have to check with the kitchen. Some time passed, and she walked past our table several times without saying a word. When I asked her personally if it would be much longer and if the kitchen had even started preparing our food, she simply replied, "No." An hour after we ordered, and the kitchen hadn't even begun cooking. I told her we weren't going to wait any longer and wanted to leave. She simply said, "Well, then you can leave, there's nothing we can do." We paid for our appetizers and left. We never received an apology or anything of the sort. The ambiance is very nice, but that's the only positive thing you can say about this restaurant.

We were there for the first time today. The meal, pork tenderloin on tagliatelle, was good. The sauce had a very unusual, grainy consistency. The side salad wasn't washed enough. It crunched with the first two bites. I left the salad on. What was confusing was the discrepancy between the waiter's demeanor and the cleanliness of the restroom. The waiter was almost like someone in a Michelin-starred restaurant, while the restroom was more like something you'd find at a motorway service station. A shame.

Everything is very good. The best thing is that they also have a vegetarian menu.

We were there for the second time yesterday and really enjoyed it this time. We ordered the vegan mushroom croquettes as a starter, and the vegan pizza and vegan schnitzel with pepper sauce and fries as main courses, and everything was delicious. The service was also very attentive and friendly. Despite the long journey, we will be back.

Highly recommended. And for vegans, it's a dream here. They even have a vegan menu.

Unfortunately, today was a very disappointing experience. First, the grilled vegetables for the burrata with tomato salad were forgotten, and then the grilled vegetables were served from the refrigerator. Despite my complaint that the vegetables were ice cold, the entire bill was taken in front of the manager, Sonja. Therefore, I cannot recommend Galicia, Schwyzer Hüsli, or the Central Hotel. A different response would have been more accommodating.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. Despite a decent order value and a tip, the driver stormed into our hallway in an unfriendly manner and complained about the route. We've never experienced anything like this before! I believe that a restaurant has the power to refuse an order via Lieferando if they estimate the route to be too long. The last thing I would blame for this is the customer, who couldn't have known any better. Of course, the meal was a waste for us. Since they clearly don't treat their customers with respect, we will steer clear of this restaurant in the future.

We celebrated our wedding here on July 19, 2025. It was fantastic. The boss, Ms. Donici, was an absolutely fantastic and competent woman. She took care of everything for us and, with her help, made this one of our most beautiful days even more beautiful. I can only recommend that anyone who wants to celebrate do it there. The food was fabulous, the service was great, and the setup and decorations were perfect. Thank you, Ms. Donici, and her team.

We were on our way home from Mannheim and visited my great-aunt in Viernheim. She knows the restaurant very well and took us there. Chic and modern, we received a warm and friendly welcome. The service was friendly and courteous. The menu is well-organized, seasonal, and well-arranged. A good mix of everything, with something for everyone. The food was delicious, lovingly prepared, and plentiful. We'll be happy to return next time.

We celebrated our prom at the community center in Viernheim. In addition to the delicious food we received from Galicia, I would especially like to emphasize the overall service and the support of Ms. Donnici. From planning to execution, everything worked flawlessly. The restaurant prepared a wonderful menu for us and always served it at the time we requested. A lot of effort was also put into the decor, creating a lovely atmosphere. I would like to express my sincere gratitude and recommend everyone to celebrate their prom here!

We celebrated our wedding here. The entire day was beautiful; all of our guests loved the food and the decor. The day was especially relaxing for us as the wedding couple, as everything was discussed in advance and executed exactly as planned. Even special requests were beautifully implemented at the last minute.

My daughter's tortellini were good. My lasagna was a disaster. The pasta sheets were completely overcooked, and the filling was the same as the sauce around them. It tasted like spaghetti Bolognese sauce. If you put the whole thing on a fork, it was a mess.

We were at Galicia in Viernheim on Mother's Day and despite the high volume, the service was simply top: super friendly, attentive and surprisingly fast. We received competent advice when we had questions and didn't have to wait long for our drinks or food. We were particularly pleased with the large selection of vegan dishes - which is an important criterion for us. Both the vegan and non-vegan dishes were consistently delicious, freshly prepared and lovingly presented. Finally, we tried two different vegan tiramisu – both highly recommended! A big thank you to the entire Galicia team for the wonderful evening. We will definitely be back and we plan to use your catering service.

We were there years ago and dissatisfied. I wrote the following review: Beer glass wasn't full and was only filled up after asking and with excuses, drink order was forgotten and took a very long time and pizza was very poorly topped and tasted bland, just like my partner's pasta. Don't come back... The operator didn't like that, he complained and goggle deleted the review. Why is there a review system if criticism is not accepted? As vegans, we are regular customers of the delivery service. Unfortunately, we are now often noticing reasons to complain. Once we got the wrong sauce, the other time I got meat schnitzel instead of vegan schnitzel, then the salad wasn't included, or the price on the menu page is 1 euro less than how it's billed. Today the vegan sliced ​​meat was completely missing from the meal and my food was lukewarm and the fries were not crispy but mushy. We are now really sad that Galicia's delivery service sometimes doesn't work out that way. Because it is the only restaurant that offers vegan food. After a few minutes I eat cold schnitzel with soggy fries because the food only came lukewarm. But the pepper sauce is very tasty, just cold. The food always tastes fantastically delicious, but it's unfortunately annoying that some deliveries don't work out so well. But it's always sorted out straight away. Mistakes happen, even if it's quite annoying. That's why we continue to order. 02/05/2025 I really don't know what to say about Galicia anymore. Ordered vegan pizza today via Lieferando. Since it doesn't work over the phone. And manoman two pizzas come out WITHOUT the vegan cheese on them. Called, asked why?? Answer from the kitchen mmmhhh YES THE VEGAN CHEESE HAS JUST BEEN OUT. You ask whether it's OK, and you don't just deliver an inadequate pizza at full price. It doesn't work anymore

We met at Galicia on Sunday evening and had a nice place on the terrace. The drinks, the green side salad and my Schwinelände with chanterelles and noodles tasted good. Unfortunately the order of veal schnitzel with fries - was no luck, the schnitzels were thin and very small. The waitresses hardly showed up, even though there were only a few guests. This place definitely has more potential...as the terrace and interior are beautiful. Little things like a light on the table, nice music and friendly service would certainly improve the mood.

We ordered a buffet for 40 people from Galicia in August 2024 on the occasion of the 50th birthday. The advice in advance was very good and great suggestions were made. Questions were always answered promptly. The delivery to the Waldhotel Luisenhöhe / Pfeiffer's Pizza worked perfectly and a perfect buffet was delivered on time and beautifully presented. All guests were thrilled and were more than full. There was something for everyone in terms of taste... there was only praise for the great food and the quality. Food was great. I ordered Calamares a la Romana as tapas. Perfect. The best I've ever eaten. Pizza was OK. Bruscetta can still be improved. Service was inadequate, food took a long time. Everything came slowly one after the other, salads were forgotten. We wanted to stay a little longer and order more drinks. Was not possible. Waiter didn't come. We went home and ended the evening there. Too bad.

We have eaten tapas here several times and have not been disappointed. Especially as long as the weather is good and the terrace is usable - highly recommended. Inside, the ambience doesn't really convince us.

Nachdem ich mit einer größeren Gruppe hier war, wollte ich den Schlemmerblock-Gutschein einlösen. Nach einem kurzen Anruf wurde für uns am gleichen Abend ein Tisch reserviert. Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt, die Getränke kamen schnell. Die kleine Vorspeisenplatte war appetitlich angerichtet und fein, genauso die Vorspeise meiner Begleitung, Chorizo mit Kartoffeln. Auch die Hauptgerichte kamen zügig. Die Portion des Beilagensalats hätte etwas größer sein können, das Dressing war sehr gut und auch reichlich. Das Essen war lecker; als wir Getränke nachbestellen wollen, ging es sehr schnell. Gut gefallen mit mir aus das Ambiente mit Blumenschmuck sowie Bildern mit mediterranen Motiven an der Wand. Ich finde die Mischung aus italienischen und spanischen Gerichten - auch auf der Vorspeisenplatte - reizvoll. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen und dann vielleicht draußen sitzen.

We went here for lunch with friends. It was recommended to us because there is a large vegan menu here, as our friend is vegan. The side salad that was served first had a good dressing, but unfortunately there were wilted leaves and some even had more than old leaves. My main course was very good, I had crispy chicken with rice and vegetable coconut curry sauce. My husband also liked the schnitzel with wine sauce. He was just surprised about the fried onions on a breaded schnitzel. Our friends were also quite happy, he had an Italian salad and a pizza, she had a side salad, also with wilted old leaves, and an antipasti plate. The vegan lattemacciato for her afterwards was inedible because it was simply made with vegan cooking cream. She didn't drink it and didn't have to pay for it in the end. The ambience is not that special, older chairs are covered with chair covers. Personally I didn't like it, too much dark wood. But what was very unpleasant for me, when I came in I smelled an unpleasant scent. I thought it might be coming from the toilet, which is at the very front of the entrance in the basement. Kind of like a toilet stone smell. When the first waiter came to take the drinks, I noticed it was his deodorant or Aftersave!! Lots and lots of this intrusive scent! Less or a subtle scent would be the order of the day here! Vazit, for us it is not worth the further journey to this restaurant. And the kitchen should clean and check the salad better.

I like going to Galicia because there is a lot to choose from and the food is really, really good. I've eaten rump steak, pinsa, tapas or piccata milanese, all really tasty and the portions are good. The service is very friendly, but could be more attentive, be it when clearing up or asking if you would like something else to drink, so points are deducted here, there is room for improvement, also because my friend then had to wait longer for her Pinsa than the rest of us Let's eat, that should be together. It's a bit older inside, but it's comfortable to sit in and it's nice to sit outside.

Nice restaurant with fair prices and a good vegan selection

The food is now quite ok and probably even the flagship dish, but unfortunately you really shouldn't go here if you're hungry, because the portions are more like children's portions even with normal plates and the emphasis is primarily on the look rather than on being full. With veal medallions with potato gratin and bacon beans there are no less than three (!!) individual coated beans. Unfortunately, the loveless side salad is never available with a sensible salad dressing, but always with a boring, homeopathically dosed vinaigrette made from vinegar oil with no taste. A more sophisticated, homemade real salad dressing made from olive oil, honey, mustard and lemon would be a real enrichment!! The staff is nice and friendly, but unfortunately they rarely ask if you would like something to drink. Sometimes you have to go to the counter yourself to order more. The oak-brown half-timbered ambience in the restaurant itself exudes the charm of an 80s pub and has nothing to do with an Italian-Mediterranean restaurant. A new coat of paint and different decoration as well as a food design that is more geared towards filling you up would really do the whole thing good. My tip: if you're still hungry after eating and have money left over, you should order dessert. It tastes really good.

Wir hatten das Restaurant besucht weil wir einen Gutschein in unserem Schlemmerblock hatten und wollten das Restaurant testen. Wir hatten einen Kalbsschnitzel mit Pommes und Salat und linguine mit Spargel und Garnelen. Das Schnitzel war gut aber der Teller war sehr lieblos angerichtet. Die Nudel sind in der Soße ertrunken. Auch hier war der Teller sehr lieblos angerichtet. Ich stelle mir jetzt die Frage ob das Essen durchschnittlich war wegen dem Schlemmerblock oder weil an diesem Tag geschlossene Gesellschaft war. Zum Glück hatten wir den Schlemmerblock und mussten nicht so viel zahlen denn das Geld wäre es nicht wert gewesen. Wir werden es noch mal testen.

Good food, friendly service and a wide range of vegan dishes.

We were pleasantly surprised by the ambience, the good food and also how quickly the food was prepared. The tables were covered with white tablecloths. There were 6 of us and the food came pretty much at the same time. Everyone was happy with the food, only the pike perch fillet was a bit small. But we will come back.

Last week we were at the Galicia restaurant. The atmosphere outside was very pleasant, beautifully green with the many trees and plants. The staff was very accommodating and nice. All the dishes we ordered were very tasty.

The "hall" in the back area for celebrations has an acoustics and interior like an open-plan office that would fail occupational health and safety (defective lighting included).

Great food 👍🏼 Unfortunately, when we made the reservation it wasn't mentioned that there was a wedding being celebrated in the restaurant that evening and we had to sit in the next room. The music was very loud and disturbing. Operation quite stressful. I think they should have just focused on the wedding party that evening and not taken any more reservations.

Been there twice and were happy. Lots of choice for vegans too. It's better to order in advance on Sunday as it was very busy. Friendly service.

Unfortunately for us it was a total failure. We had to wait over an hour for our food, despite several requests. We had a 3 course menu, which unfortunately wasn't really good. Soup cold, noodles almost hard and the meat extremely dry. Unfortunately, the service was completely overwhelmed and not attentive. Quite the opposite. When we asked when the food would come, we had been sitting here for an hour, we were told that it couldn't be right. It's a shame because we came from out of town and were actually happy.

I would have liked to try the restaurant with vegan and gluten-free options. When we arrived last Saturday evening, however, there was a closed party and despite making a reservation via the website, I wasn't canceled. Unfortunately, I don't know whether the reservation didn't arrive or the operators didn't think it was necessary to cancel me. When asked in the restaurant they just shrugged. It's a shame because we were in the area on a trip and then had to find somewhere else at short notice.

Wir waren mit dem Schlemmerblock am Sonntag Mittag zum Essen da. Das Lokal war gut besucht und wir bekamen auch ohne Reservierung einen Tisch. Der Tisch war mäßig sauber, man sah noch ein paar Flecken und Krümmel von anderen Gästen. Getränke wurden schnell serviert, allerdings Pils im Weizenglas?! Seltsam. Wir entschieden uns für 2x Parmesanschnitzel mit Pommes. Preis : 18,90€ Der Beilagensalat war wirklich sehr klein, aber schmackhaft. Die Schnitzel war leider auch sehr klein und dünn, ca 12 cm. Pommes war eine normal Portion und ok. Auch das Fleisch schmeckte und die Parmesan sauce. Die beiden Gerichte waren so schnell auf dem Tisch, das sie nicht frisch zubereitet werden konnten in dieser kurzen Zeit. Mit Schlemmerblock war es in Ordnung, ohne stimmt die Preis Leistung allerdings nicht.

Wir waren zu zweit dort und haben unseren Schlemmerblock genutzt und zuvor telefonisch reserviert. Der Service war aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Das Essen war lecker und die Portionen auch reichlich. Wir hatten jeweils eine Vorspeise und Hauptgericht. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich, es sollte jeder etwas Passendes finden. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung. Ich würde sagen, das Restaurant ist solide, nichts Ausgefallenes, aber es gibt auch nichts zu meckern.

Wir haben einen Geburtstag dort gefeiert, kein schönes Ambiente, das Personal überfordert, zum Bestellung aufgeben brauchte man viel Geduld, Tisch wurde nicht abgeräumt, Getränke wurden einzeln gebracht, Tablett kannte man wahrscheinlich nicht, das Essen eher mangelhaft, Lachs mehr als tot gebraten, Rumpsteak Schuhsohle, lieblos, Salat wollen wir lieber nicht drüber reden. Alles in allem - letzter Besuch dort !!!

Leider war der Großteil unserer Gruppe mehr als enttäuscht. Es gab nur eine Weihnachts-Speisekarte auf der überteuerte Menues angeboten wurde. Auf Wünsche wie z.B. andere Beilage wurde nicht eingegangen. Salat absolute Katastrophe. Braune Blätter durch Öl gezogen. Leider war auch der Service mies. Nach dem abräumen der Teller war niemand mehr bei uns im Nebenzimmer. Wir saßen den restlichen Abend „auf dem trockenen“ Sehr schade, denn bei über 30 Personen hätte man an Getränken gutes Geld verdienen können. Ja an Weihnachten ist sehr viel los aber dennoch darf der Service und die Freundlichkeit nicht darunter leiden.

Ich habe etwas über den Lieferdienst bestellt, eine Pizza Speziale. Es kam leider eine Pizza Margarita. Ich habe es telefonisch reklamiert, es wurde sofort eine neue Pizza bestellt und es wurde sich entschuldigt. Ich fragte, ob ich die falsche Pizza mitgeben soll. Dies wurde verneint. Nach ca. 30 Minuten kam die neue Pizza, dieses Mal richtig. Sie war auch gut. Da geliefert, war der Teig nicht knusprig, aber das ist der Lieferung geschuldet, da kann man nichts machen. Der rohe Schinken war gut, fein, aber im Ofen mit gebacken. Ebenso der Rucolasalat. So kenne ich das nicht. Aber egal, es war gut. ABER: und da bin ich sehr allergisch. Der Fahrer sollte die falsch gelieferte Pizza wieder mitnehmen. Ich fragte dann: “Die schmeißt Ihr doch eh weg, Ihr könnt die doch nicht mehr verkaufen!?!” Er musste es aber machen. Da denke ich mir: was soll das… falsch geliefert, ich musste länger warten, und dann noch misstrauen, dass ich nicht doch ein Stück der falschen Pizza gegessen habe (was ich nicht gemacht habe). Das finde ich sehr sehr kleinkariert. Anstand hätte es gehabt, wenn als Entschuldigung irgend eine Süßigkeit oder sonst was geliefert worden wäre. Aber so kleinkariert etwas falsch geliefertes mitnehmen, was eh in den Müll geworfen wird… sorry. Euer Verhalten ist stillos. Mehr kann ich dazu nicht sagen. Wäre das nicht passiert, würde ich Euch mindestens mit 4/5 Sternen bewerten. Aber so sind es nur drei. PS: Patatas Braves habe ich auch bestellt, die waren gut. Weil geliefert, etwas weich, aber das geht nicht anders.

Alte Hütte🥴 70er Jahre Bau. Es riecht teilweise muffig. Das Personal ist bemüht.

Wir waren eine ausflugsgesellschaft und das Essen war sehr lecker und auch relativ zügig damit alle so gut wie gleichzeitig essen konnten.

Sehr schönes Restaurant. Sehr freundlicher Service und sehr leckeres Essen

Man fühlt sich gleich wohl. Service, Essen und Ambiente überzeugen.
