There were too many fermented products. Why doesn't a good product like trout or veal get its due and has to be covered with all sorts of fermented or crunchy ingredients? 175 euros for the menu is excessive. The ambience is very cool and very dark.

I rarely write reviews and 5 stars are only given in exceptional cases. Today is the day. Just on the way home and still excited. Today I decided to go out on a whim to have a good meal and the service was perfect. Here, relaxed professionalism in service meets outstanding cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. Every course is a feast for the eyes, each original and of perfect quality and workmanship. And most importantly: everything tastes great! See you next time!

The food is new and very tasty. Lovely service, plates and presentation. Friendly service. The only downside is the excessive insistence on selling water. (Despite 1 bottle of champagne and 2 bottles of wine for 4 people, they keep pouring water until the end and NEVER ask if there should be another bottle of water.)

Very friendly restaurant with really excellent dishes. We felt completely comfortable, the service was super approachable and professional and the atmosphere was as if we were staying with friends. It wasn't our first trip to the Michelin-starred kitchen, but it was a family highlight. Also worthy of mention is the sommelier, who prepared a courageous wine pairing that went perfectly with the dishes.

Small, fine restaurant with friendly service staff. Unfortunately, the claim that one expects does not seem to be able to be translated. It started with the fact that unfortunately the most trivial questions about the aperitif could not be answered in an expert manner. The individual courses often played on a rather superficial level. You have to give credit to the restaurant for having 2-3 courses that stood out. But that must not be the case with this claim. At least the majority of it has to be right... but it isn't. The sad highlight was that the guest had to break the bread by hand and even when asked - because they were out in the city all day - this was vehemently refused. So it was necessary to wash your hands first before you could concentrate on the hallway. At least a cloth to clean your hands could have been offered. And what does it look like when you're out and about with colleagues or business partners? Then the guest's wishes should be taken into account when it comes to hygiene. The subsequent courses were also rather average. Unfortunately, it's a shame because the attempt and the menu promised a lot. But excessive service and mediocre dishes quickly changed the mood. Anyone who wants to eat at a star level will be happier elsewhere - especially in Munich.

Abbiamo cenato in un giardino abbastanza nascosto e difficile da individuare dalla strada. Il personale è stato gentile e i piatti onestamente buoni, dal gusto gradevole ed equilibrato. I dolci invece non ci sono piaciuti. Tra le note negative della serata dobbiamo annoverare il tavolo che ci hanno riservato in fondo al giardino dove purtroppo si sentiva forte un cattivo odore di spazzatura. Inoltre, per la prima volta in assoluto, dopo tanti anni di esperienza ai ristoranti, mi dicono che la cena per mio figlio che non aveva fame, era stata comunque preparata ed andava servita o l'avrebbero buttata. In poche parole che l'avremmo dovuta pagare lo stesso perché il tavolo era riservato per 4 persone e 4 menù degustazione andavano pagati. A questo punto avremmo voluto rispondere di regalare la cena in più a qualche persona bisognosa, ma non ci siamo fidati che ciò non sarebbe stato fatto. Allora ce la siamo fatta servire e ci siamo divisi i piatti un pò per uno, ma teniamo a segnalare ai prossimi avventori questo comportamento quantomeno poco signorile!

We had dinner in a garden that was quite hidden and difficult to spot from the street. The staff was friendly and the dishes were honestly good, with a pleasant and balanced taste. We didn't like the desserts though. Among the negative notes of the evening we must include the table they reserved for us at the end of the garden where unfortunately there was a strong smell of rubbish. Furthermore, for the first time ever, after many years of experience in restaurants, they told me that the dinner for my son who wasn't hungry had been prepared anyway and had to be served or they would have thrown it away. In short, we should have paid the same because the table was reserved for 4 people and 4 tasting menus had to be paid for. At this point we would have liked to reply to give the extra dinner to some needy person, but we didn't trust that this wouldn't be done. So we had it served and we divided the dishes one by one, but we would like to point out this unladylike behavior to future customers!

Went there for my birthday and it was amazing. It is a family run restaurant with a Michelin star. They manage to make you feel like you’re sitting in mums kitchen and in a very high class noble restaurant at the same time. The food was amazing and the wine pairing with it as well.

This place is no less than a world-class restaurant. Went there on a special occasion, and it turned out to be a great evening with amazing food!!! The food looks like an art on the plate, and taste is just so enjoyable that anyone might forget who is sitting next to you. Das Gabelspiel startete mal als Sterne-Restaurant "for the rest of us". Das ist es gewissermaßen immer noch, auch wenn die Preise deutlich angezogen haben und die französischen Einflüsse mittlerweile überwiegen. Dies muss kein Nachteil sein - die Speisen sind durchweg auf Top-Niveau. Soweit erstmal alles Bestens. Weniger gefallen haben uns ein paar Punkte drumherum: Das Licht ist dermaßen runtergedimmt, dass wir unsere Handy-Leuchten anschalten, um zu sehen, was auf dem Teller liegt. Nach einer Stunde frieren wir an den Beinen, da beim Öffnen der Tür der kalte Wind von draußen durch den Raum weht (die Heizkörper sind leider komplett verkleidet). Und, ja, die Weinbegleitung ist ein wenig "unkonventionell" und driftet für unseren Geschmack zu sehr ins Schräge ab (Stichwort Naturwein). Unser vorsichtiger Hinweis darauf wird von der robust auftretenden Sommelière beiseite gewischt: "Das machen wir immer so". Schade, dass hier nicht auf die Wünsche der Gäste eingegangen wird und dem hohen Niveau der Küche nicht entsprochen wird. Somit nur drei Punkte.

Our go-to restaurant for fine dining in Munich for many years. Nowhere else are we regularly so surprised by flavor combinations that we would never have thought of. In addition, there are always exciting wine accompaniments, wonderfully relaxed service and an outstanding price-performance ratio. Very few other restaurants in the same category (and sometimes even higher) can keep up with us. Unreserved recommendation.

Went here as a couple, paid around 700 euros for 7 courses with wine accompaniment and a few little extras and were not disappointed. Since my companion is vegetarian, the menu was changed a lot for her, but everything tasted just right. The ambience is different than what you would expect from the outside, especially more spacious and cozy. The service was great, we especially found the sommelier very funny. Gladly again.

The food is very good. The rest lags behind a bit. First of all: We were there on a day when there was very little going on. Only one other couple apart from us, maybe it's different on days like this than when it's full. The welcome is warm and pleasant and the current aperitif (a gin with chamomile tea) is original. The first greeting came very quickly from the kitchen. A smoked fish consommé. More umami becomes difficult. The rhythm then continued. The amusements and appetizers arrived in quick succession. (Everything was a bit too quick for my taste.) The other table came half an hour after us and was served even faster, so that by the time they got their first starter they were already on par with us. We opted for the complete menu, with cheese and dessert. The dishes were all very good, with lots of Asian influences and techniques and great products, and you can tell that the star has been earned. Unfortunately the wine accompaniment wasn't a success for us. Most of the wines were white and, analogous to the rosé wines, they were all praised with the same adjectives 'sparkling' 'original' 'fresh' 'green'. And in fact, they all tasted somewhat similar in the end. Except for one natural wine that was really different. Personally, I don't particularly like yeasty wines, but you have to acknowledge that it was original and went well with the dish. The only red wine in the series was good, but nothing special. Maybe he really didn't make a fool of himself, but he didn't leave a lasting impression either. The sherry with the cheese was a safe choice which for me was too sweet for the already very sweet cheese. After this perhaps somewhat unenthusiastic digression, the most important thing: The amuses and the Café Gourmand at the end (even though we enjoyed it without coffee) were terrific but all the courses in between were just great. Everything about the food was just right and they tried very hard to work around my allergies.

Lovely place with intimate seating. One main room (about 8-10 tables) and one side room (about 3 tables). The service is spotless and very well in tune with and the food is very creative, tasty and thoughtful. One of the better experiences so far in a Munich fine dining restaurant. Minor comments - pending the crowd it can get pretty noisy in there and the service could get a touch more personalized but that may be a preference question. Def a great restaurant place to dine - keep it up. Dishes in photos in order of the menu.

First of all, the food is TOP and deserves a star. But: It was too cold and drafty, especially because the entrance door doesn't close properly. We found four full hours too long for 6 courses, especially since each course only contained 2 to 3 bites. The wine list is short (6 red wines from Austria even though the chef is Austrian, no Spanish red wine), overall acceptable but not worthy of a star.

Dear Gabelspiel team, Many thanks to the entire Gabelspiel team for a wonderful evening that my wife, our son and I were able to spend in your home. After we arrived stressed because of the snow chaos, we were warmly welcomed in a relaxed atmosphere. With a glass of champagne and delicious greetings from the kitchen, the exertions of the journey were quickly forgotten and we were able to immerse ourselves in an evening full of culinary surprises. If you go to the star kitchen every now and then, you go into such an evening with high expectations. And we were not disappointed. The menu was very creative, everything tasted excellent; Every course was something special and new – star cuisine. Instead of the wine accompaniment offered, with Ms. Berger's expert advice, we opted for two excellent wines from the well-curated wine list. Ich kann nur sagen, Chapeau! Der Abend im Gabelspiel war wirklich ganz besonders! Ein großes Kompliment an Familie Berger, die ein wirkliches Kleinod auf höchstem kreativem Niveau aufgebaut haben! Wir waren ausgesprochen begeistert von der Kreativität der Küche, die unglaublich ideenreich und in jedem Gang unglaublich lecker war! Da wird nicht einfach abgehoben gezaubert, sondern wirklich top verwöhnt! Dazu passt noch der ausgesprochen nette, zuvorkommende und sehr professionelle Service! the restaurant looks amazing and cozy, the staff is great but lets talk about the food: Under the advice of a foodie friend, we went for the menu paired with the non-alcoholic drinks and never was i happier NOT to drink wine. Each drink pairing was showing not only creativity and a little outside the box thinking, but was absolutely perfection when paired with the food. The level on which the non-alcoholic pairing matched each course could not be matched with wine. (perfect!) We started with a little aperitif and were soon presented a little soup/broth, absolutely delicious and reinforced the cozy feeling in a cold autumn evening. The first three items (Veal / Herb Explosion / Cauliflower) were an absolute stunning introduction, each item was delicious and the skill and personality of the chef was immediately coming through, we were delighted. Next up, an item that sparked some curiosity as it appears on the menu as "Faux gras"... intriguing. The flavors it presented were delightful, offering a compelling experience. Yet, it's worth noting that the generous size of the waffle made it a challenge to savor every nuance simultaneously. Moving on to the local seafood selection, we encountered one of the two undisputed highlights of the evening's culinary journey. This particular dish unfurled a symphony of flavors that left an indelible mark on the palate. It was a moment in we found ourselves immersed in the culinary genius of the chef. It is time for an homage to the German tradition, "bread time." Here, the transcendent experience we've been savoring comes abruptly back to the realm of the ordinary. We transition from the heights of culinary excellence to a more moderate realm – a shift that, while unexpected, left us with a twinge of disappointment. It's "Autumn" time, and our next dish transports us deep into the heart of the forest. In a symphony of flavors, textures, and visual artistry, this dish masterfully reflects the culinary prowess of the chef. amazing! Our journey continue with a creative surf&turf, a unique combination of Gamba / Pork / Banana that was undeniably enjoyable, though one might discern a hint of excess saltiness, scarcely detracting from the overall experience. Now time to call on the stage what should have been the a star dish, with Wagyu / gyoza a delicious pepper reduction and miso puree. I cannot hide the fact that at first sight, you would think the meat serving would be twice the served size. As the single Wagyu slice sits modest on the plate. The start of this dish is without doubt the pepper sauce, the gyoza wrapper was unexpectedly good. This dish left us slightly disappointed. We opted for the Sweets close the menu, Quince / Croissant / Pistachio, we are warned that it might not be what we initially expect and comes with a little surprise ingredient. We receive a little work of art, on a bed of Quince we have a croissant creme (yeah you read that right) topped with crunchy pistachio crumbs and caviar ?! what ? picture me skeptical. However, much like our earlier encounter with the local fish dish, this was yet another moment where the chef's undeniable mastery shone brilliantly. The sweet dish was nothing short of a work of art, and the inclusion of caviar revealed itself to be a stroke of genius, harmonizing seamlessly with the entire composition. It was nothing short of extraordinary. While some of the dishes have room for improvement, there are those that achieve culinary excellence. We would willingly forego the "brotzeit" in favor of another offering that truly showcases the chef's remarkable talent. Overall a great experience, we look forward to visit again in the future.

Vorab… wir werden leider nicht wieder kommen. Für den ersten Eindruck, gibt es leider keine zweite Chance. Der Service war super freundlich. Aber das reicht leider für einen Sterneladen nicht. Die Atmosphäre ist für ein Sternelokal nicht angemessen. Alles recht einfach gehalten. Und dann donnert alle paar Minuten die Straßenbahn vorbei. Für so einen gehobenen Laden die völlig falsche Location. Aber es geht ja um das Essen. Handwerklich super toll gemacht… nur wurde leider der Geschmack vergessen. Der Saibling war der einzige Gang, der lecker war. Alles andere hat eigentlich nach nichts geschmeckt. Am schlimmsten war die Nachspeise. Null Geschmack. Ich hab gedacht, ich beiß in Pappe. Leider waren die Gänge sich sehr monoton. Irgendwie kam bei jedem Gang der Teller mit Füllung und dann wurde eine Flüssigkeit aus dem Kännchen drüber gegossen. Das ist einmal ganz witzig, aber halt noch drei oder viermal. Sehr enttäuschend, leider. Wir hatten große Erwartungen. Und es war einer der letzten Sterneläden, die wir in München noch auf unserer Liste hatten. Und leider auch ganz hinten mit dabei. Da haben wir schon sehr viel besser gegessen. Die Damen waren super nett. Allerdings war die Weinempfehlung auch nur so lala. Es tut mir sehr leid, das sagen zu müssen, aber es war leider ein Reinfall.

Kleines Restaurant der Spitzenklasse. Die Lage zwischen den Bierkneipen der Tegernseer Landstr. ist ungewöhnlich für ein solches Restaurant. Das Essen ist außerordentlich. Bekannte Zutaten werden in einer Weise be- und verarbeitet, wie man es nicht kennt, und so erzeugt jeder der 6 oder 7 Gänge nicht nur Genuss, sondern auch Staunen. Der Service ist nett und unprätentiös. Die Weinkarte überzeugt mit Vielfalt.

I agree with most of the other reviewers, this is a fabulous evening of culinary delights. We had in all around 9 or 10 courses, each of a few bites, so you won't feel over-full, and with wine/non-alcoholic drink pairing. The atmosphere is relaxed comfortable and fun. The staff are friendly, helpful and informative. I loved every moment of this creative experience. The plates and serving arrangements were just as fun and artistic as the food itself. I also found it interesting to go to a Michelin star restaurant with a Bavarian flavour but at the same time with fine flavours and overflowing with creativity. The exquisitely beautiful 'Brotzeit' was like an intermission at the theatre during our evening of palate diversions!

Wir hatten das 6- Gänge - Menue und es hatte Schwächen. Die Kombi z. B. aus Ingwer und Schokolade war nicht gelungen, das passt einfach nicht. Der Service war sehr kompetent, es wurde alles erklärt zu jedem Gang. Das Ambiente erinnert mich an eine bessere Szene Bar - sehr laut, Tisch an Tisch. Man versteht dort sein eigenes Wort nicht. Ich würde dort nicht nochmal hingehen, auch wegen dem schlechten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis insgesamt.

My husband and I ate here a week ago on vacation and had a stellar experience. The food, wine and service were delightful. Last night we had a 2-star Michelin dinner in Vienna and Gabelspiel was vastly superior. You could really feel the passion they have for this unique experience that they provide to their clientele.

Der Hochzeitstag mal anders. Das letzte Mal haben wir vor 8 Jahren in einem Sterne-Lokal gegessen - im Tandris bei Hans Haas. Damals war ich vom Preisleistungsverhältnis eher enttäuscht und die Weinbegeleitung war wirklich schlecht. Im Gabelspiel wurden wir sehr sehr angenehm überrascht. Jeder Gang ein Genuss - den Wein habe ich mir selber ausgesucht und er war perfekt, wie die ganze Weinkarte sehr gute Wein führt. Die Bedinungen sehr zuvorkommend und die Rechung dem Essen und der Getränke voll angemessen. Spitzenessen mit einem Michelin-Stern kostet immer etwas, aber der Nachhall wird noch eine ganze Weile in sehr guter Erinnerung bleiben.

Das Gabelspiel war in diesem Jahr unser kulinarischer Auftakt und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. In München für mich das beste 1* Restaurant welches immer Top Service und Top Küche bietet. Für alle zu empfehlen welche die ersten Schritte kulinarisch im gehobenen Bereich machen wollen. Hier muss man sich nicht an irgendwelche steifen Vorgaben wie in manch Gourmettempeln halten. Besonders hat mir dir "Faux Gras" - Falsches Fett gefallen. Diese kann mit dem original aus der französischen Küche definitiv mithalten und weiß so am meisten zu überraschen. Danke für den schönen Abend. Wir kommen wieder.

Geheimtipp in Obergiesing für entspannte Geniesser. Extrem einfallsreiches Menü (Signature Dish Faux Gras, kein Schreibfehler, eine vegetarische Fois Gras, die von Textur und Geschmack dem Original mehr als das Wasser, sorry, den Süßwein reichen kann). Munterer und perfekter Service, auch wenn alles proppenvoll ist. Und eine sehr kreative Weinbegleitung mit inspirierenden Erläuterungen.

Wir waren im Nachgang zu unserer Hochzeit im Gabelspiel, um diesen Tag mit einem besonderen Menü zu begehen. Leider wurde gleich zu Beginn die Stimmung getrübt. Zwei unserer ursprünglich gemeldeten 8 Gäste waren kurzfristig ausgefallen. Als wir das verkündeten, schlugen uns lange Gesichter entgegen. Nicht mal ein herzlichen Glückwunsch kam da noch über die Lippen der Damen. Nun gut. Wir setzten uns und im nächsten Moment stand eine der Damen bei uns am Tisch, die sich als Chefin entpuppte. In einer leider sehr uncharmanten Art eröffnete sie uns vor versammelter Mannschaft, dass ihr Mann nun alles wegwerfen müsste und sie nun eine Gebühr berechnen muss. Was diese war, erfuhren wir erst nach einer weiteren Nachfrage. Es waren 100€ No-show Gebühr. Bitte verstehen Sie mich hier nicht falsch: gute Arbeit soll entlohnt und geschätzt werden! Jedoch war im Vorfeld die Transparenz über die No-show Gebühr nicht klar, sowie die Art dies vor all unseren Gästen kundzutun, sehr unangenehm für uns und begleitete unseren Abend über die nächsten 6 Gänge. Das Menü: der Beginn war herausragend! Das Amuse Guele, sowie die ersten 3 Gänge der insgesamt 6/7 gewählten waren überraschend komplex und ausgezeichnet vom Wein begleitet. Leider gab es im Anschluss zwei Fleischgänge mit Rind und Schwein, die so gar nicht zum ersten Teil passten und im Gesamten an eine Wagner Oper erinnerten… schwer und zu lang! Wir haben als Familie das beste aus dem Abend mitgenommen, werden aber nicht wiederkommen.

Eine kulinarische Traumreise der ganz besonderen Art...hier paart sich Phantasie, Kreativität und gigantische Aromen auf höchstem Niveau. Dazu ein Service, der Seinesgleichen suchen muss. Im Gabelspiel kann man entspannt und unverkrampft essen. Der Koch inkl. Team macht einen überragenden Job (bei all unseren Besuchen und auch zu lock down Zeiten die to go Boxen!). Auch die Mädels im Service, insbesondere die Inhaberin, sind super. Bei unserem letzten Besuch war das Iberico das Highlight. Die einzige Schwäche hat für mich die Weinauswahl. Hier kann es von überragend bis schmeckte mir gar nicht leider alles geben. Es ist mir manchmal zu experimentell und das ging bei mir, bei zwei Weinen, nach hinten los. Den Dessertwein ließ ich stehen. Alles in allem folgendes Fazit: Essen 5/5 (eigentlich 6 ;-)) (35%) Service 5/5 25% Getränke 2/5 25% Ambiente 5/5 15% Bei einer besseren Weinauswahl oder vielleicht, die Wahl der alkoholfreien Weinbegleitung meinerseits, gibt es volle Punkte weil das Essen definitiv mehr her gibt und auch der Service einwandfrei ist.

Das Gabelspiel hatten wir uns schon lagen vorgenommen, hatten uns aber wegen der Pandemie von der No-Show-Prämie (100 E pro Nase) abschrecken lassen. Es war hervorragend, schon die Amuse Bouches eine Selektion von Leckerlies. Die Gerichte waren durchwegs sehr gut und kreativ zubereitet und präsentiert. Das Brot kommt mittendrin als "Brotzeit" mit Aufstrich und Speck vom Vater des Küchenchefs, aus Oberösterreich. Die Weine kamen von kleinen und daher unbekannteren Weingütern und durchwegs gut, und haben auch gut gepasst. antialkohlisch gibt es Saft-Cocktails, die ebenfalls alle gemundet haben. Der Blauschimmel-Käsegang kam als Eis, was wir sehr originell fanden. Die Service Damen waren freundlich und kompetent. Das Restaurant ist eher reduziert eingerichtet, aber nicht steril. Die Gäste waren von sehr elegant bis sehr leger unterwegs. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und empfehlen das Tafelspiel wärmstens weiter.

Gestern waren wir im großartigen Restaurant Gabelspiel (1 Michelin-*) bei Sabrina und Florian Berger. Sie leitet den Service, er ist Küchenchef. Sabrina macht das sehr herzlich, immer freundlich und zudem wirklich kompetent. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl und sehr gut aufgehoben, die Unterhaltungen mit ihr sind super angenehm, nicht aufgesetzt, sondern als würde man mit guten Bekannten sprechen. Toll! Florian ist ein phänomenaler Koch, der große Saucen kreieren kann und toll mit fermentierten Gemüsen arbeitet. Als Österreicher setzt er auch auf Klassiker seiner Heimat und der Region Oberbayern - Kürbiskerne, Kraut etc. finden sich erfreulicherweise immer wieder im Menü. Dazu gab es einen feinen 2016er Meursault 1er Cru "Les Cras" von Remoissenet Pere et Fils. Empfehlung: Besucht dieses schöne Restaurant!

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal im Gabelspiel und wieder sehr zufrieden mit dem Service, der lockeren Atmosphäre und vor allem mit dem Essen. Jeder Gang wirkte wie ein Gemälde auf dem Teller und entfesselte ein Geschmacksfeuerwerk im Mund. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen!

My husband and I visited "Gabelspiel" restaurant for the first time. What can I say? From booking the table online (a day prior to our reservation, we received a call asking about any dietary requirements they have to consider) until we said goodbye - it was just incredible. The restaurant has space for approx. 20 guests. Since it was a beautiful summer evening, we sat on the veranda. You can choose from 6 or 7 courses - with or without wine pairing. The service is very attentive (as one would expect) and super friendly. When noticing that I spoke English with my husband, both the waitress and the somelier immediately switched to English to explain the food and the wines. The food is not only tasty, you could almost see how the creativity was flowing in the kitchen. We absolutely loved every single dish. Since it is on the high end price wise, it is definitely worth waiting for a special occasion to come and spoil yourself. Thanks to the team, we thoroughly enjoyed being spoilt by you!

Die Küche hat gegenüber unserem Besuch vor ungefähr einem Jahr noch einen Tick zugelegt - toll! Die sicher noch ausbaufähige, aber pfiffige Weinauswahl und die passende Beratung durch die beiden Damen waren perfekt. Lediglich beim (geschmacklich) schwächsten Gang, dem Käse, vergass die Chefin die branchenübliche Vorgabe, dass der Gast König ist und verteidigte laut belehrend die Verwendung einer Holzschale und eines als unhygienisch empfundenen Holzlöffels, was die sonst sehr angenehme Atmosphäre leider etwas trübte.

Wir haben selten ein so stimmiges 7-Gang Menü mit spannender Weinbegleitung und nicht alkoholischer Getränkebegleitung erlebt, wie am gestrigen Abend. Gabelspiel was INCREDIBLE. Definitely the best meal I've ever had. The biggest take away was the amazing service and team behind the food. The restaurant is calm, intimate, and inviting. As we sat down we were offered an aperitif or a glass of champagne or a glass of local beer (from a brewery right around the corner). They also brought out some heartwarming nibbles as we decided how many courses to dive into. We picked 6 and wine pairings. Each course began with the Sommelier explaining the origin and backstory to each wine, why they picked it, and why it paired with each course. The food was incredibly fresh and they did an excellent job highlighting seasonal flavors. The meat was divine. The presentation was exceptional. My favorite course was probably the quail. I've never had quail prepared so expertly. The quail egg at the beginning was excellent too. We had a later reservation so near the end of the meal it was just us and another table. The cherry on top of the perfect experience: the co-owner's little dog Larry came out and hung out with us as we finished dessert! Very cool dog, very cool restaurant, and very incredible experience. 14/10 stars (if that's possible)

You expect great tastes from the food but some of them is just really not tasty. For instance there was no sardine and they served another fish and the taste of the sauce was so heavy sour that just ruin taste of thefish as well. But the worst was the main course was littlraly burnt meat. I asked them to make my meat well done since im pregnant they bring a black burnt meat coved with a sauce which is also smells burnt. When i was telling this the reaction was even worst then meat. The lady said ‘ yeah you asked well done this is what happens!’ Then other lady came who was nicer and she said it is not meat burnt it is yhe fat around which was also not true. Imagine you go a Michelin star restaurant and pay min. 105 euros for each and they give you burnt meat and they get rude because you gave the feedback even if it was a very nice way. Wasting money!

If you're looking at getting stuffed, don't go here. You won't be completely full, (but you won't be hungry either) even after 8 courses. But if you're looking at pampering yourself with some delicious food & some tasty wine in a quiet place with a nice ambiance; then you should go here. We were 3 for dinner that night. After looking at the different menu options, we decided to go for the 8 course dinner & 4 rounds of wine. The restaurant is a small place with a maximum of 25 seats & a homely setting. It's run by a couple. The lady welcomes the guests & does the serving, while her husband is the chef & runs the kitchen with the help of one other. The lady is extremely friendly & made us feel welcome while introducing us to the menu & giving us recommendations. She made sure to ask us after every single course how the food was. She then explained what the next course was & asked whether we had any special wishes. Each course is brought out either by her or by the chef. They would lay the plates & explain what is what & how it was prepared. The food was delicious. The drinks were also tasty & the wines from different countries were also good. They were nice enough to add 3 different items to the main course (#6) even though the menu said 2 items, for no extra cost. They also gave us a free round of starters on the house as well as a free round of sweets after the full course. You don't pay only for the food, but for the service as well. Something in the menu changes every week, so you won't get the same stuff again. I highly recommend the place!

We spend a wonderful evening at Gabelspiel. The food was very creative and tasted delicious. You can choose between different menus and I recommend to at least order 6 dishes to taste enough and not remain hungry. The wine menu is very satisfying and offers a great variety. You should ask for a recommendation even if you know your wine! All that comes at a price but you are for sure paying for good quality and wo t regret a penny. We will come back!

It is so nice to see a young couple living their dream, especially in an expensive city like Munich! He is the chef preparing his delicious creations, she serves at the tables with a lovely smile and young and friendly approach. The restaurant is romantic, young and yet professional. We loved the chef's inventions (like the spruce ice cream) and the fresh hand-made bread, it is definitely worth a go! Well done guys ;)

My GF and I went there on a wednesday evening. The restaurant has 4 tables. Run by the chef and his wife. Very welcoming, you feel like you are visiting them at home. They have a veariety of 8 dishes one being a desert and one vegetarian. One can order a formula of minimum 4 dishes of your lrefered choice. Thr food is very delivious. Dishes were served with a time difference of around 20 minutes. The restaurant is expensive we ended up paying 200 euros for 8 dishes a bottle of wine and 2 wine glasses. But it was one of those times that you know it was worth it. It doesnt have the best romantic atmosphere but being located in an old building on the ground floor gives the place its own identity.

We can highly recommend this restaurant to everyone seeking superior food and service at still affordable prices on that level. We liked the authentic and puristic atmosphere of this small restaurant with less than 10 tables.

This restaurant is a wonderful little spot for a romantic meal or a special dinner out with friends. The food is prepared to a gourmet standard and reflects the passion of the chef; everything was cooked to perfection. The location is in the heart of Giesing, and they have a beautiful garden terrace that is tucked away from the main street - it's truly a gem. The service is personal and considered with a friendly touch and excellent wine pairings. One consideration to make is that this is not a place for a quick bite - expect to have a meal that reflects between six and eight courses, if you choose. A perfect place for celebrations or a romantic night out with your significant other. The garden would make a great spot for a private party celebration.

Came here with colleagues and what a nice treat. The hostess was so friendly with everyone and instantly made you feel so welcome. I was so surprised when the homemade bread appeared wrapped in parchment paper. What a lovely touch. One of my colleagues wasn't keen on the cauliflower amuse bouche so they rustled up a different one for me. Absolutely amazing. You didn't have much options in terms of main course, either pigeon or lamb. Really tasty lamb but the size of the portion meant €35 was a bit steep. All dishes were so well presented, it was almost a piece of artwork! Great place even though they started back in Nov.

This was an evening with a special theme and the menu was fixed, but really, you could feel the passion in the way the owners served and made sure every guest had a wonderful time! Food is superb, with a nice fresh twist. New and alternative ways of serving traditional ingredients like carrots, beetroot and fresh herbs! Plates elegantly presented. Our waitress was attentive and did everything to make us feel welcome and relaxed. Nice surroundings! Certainly well worth a visit, even if you are not staying in the immediate area.

1. Unfortunately, I missed the moment when foie gras began to cost like black caviar. At the same time, the portion was reduced by half. 2. It was difficult to book a table, although we were sitting in a half-empty place. 3. I can’t say that it was amazingly tasty, the prices are above average. The check for dinner for two with a bottle of wine was €200+. 4. The atmosphere is not French, the service is without interest in the client. 5. Well, the “cherry on the cake” was food poisoning.
