We were here for a Caribbean evening. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. We'd love to come back.

We went to a culinary Caribbean evening with cocktails. The food and cocktails were outstanding. The food and spices were perfectly matched.

This restaurant is highly recommended. The food is perfect and tastes very good. The price/performance ratio is good. The service staff is very attentive and friendly.

I can't say much about the food. I had a piece of cake 🍰 and ☕. The cake was delicious. The place is quite large with plenty of space. You can also go there with groups. The terrace was also open.

Unfortunately, the rolls were very small, and you had to pay extra for many things. Unfortunately, there was only one hot drink included, and you usually drink at least two cups of coffee at breakfast. But I can recommend it.

We immediately felt at home. Great atmosphere. Delicious food and friendly staff. We'll definitely be back (we haven't tried many of the delicious dishes on the menu yet 😁)

We went to the Spanish evening. Everything was delicious and of top quality. We spent 3.5 hours enjoying a very relaxed evening with great food and a very pleasant atmosphere. The service was excellent! Official praise goes to the friendly chef! He's really good and knows what he's doing. Finally, a restaurant that still knows what they're doing. We thank you very much and will be back!

Today was our first time at Restaurant Franz and we just wanted to try it out, as one of us is wheelchair-bound and we'd been recommended that the restaurant would be suitable. I'll be brief about it: it's very suitable. But that's not all. The restaurant itself has a very open and friendly atmosphere; it seems modern and stylish to me. We had breakfast, and I can say it was truly delicious. Everything was very filling, and we couldn't finish it all. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Finally, the staff. We had a few questions about parking at the beginning and were immediately greeted in a very friendly and courteous manner. Everything was explained, and we were able to find our way around right away. And our first impression was confirmed by the following: Very courteous and always friendly. All our requests were met, and I can say that we will be back.

Positives: Hot meals served all day, good value for money. The food was plentiful and delicious. Unfortunately, negatives: The service is veeeery slow.

We visited this restaurant after a hike in Sasbachwalden while waiting for our train home. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the station. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food was delicious, and the prices are reasonable considering the quality of service and setting. Toilets are available for customers.

We ate here while passing through. Hot food is served all day – a plus! The small-meal menu is extensive. Our order arrived promptly, the food was piping hot, and tasted delicious. The dessert, beautifully decorated, was also delicious. The ambiance is modern, quiet, and clean, and there's even a terrace. Highly recommended.

Since the restaurant is attached to a retirement home, it attracts a much older clientele, but also many out-of-town guests. Good, varied cuisine, attentive service, and it was also noticeable that children are welcome. I'd be happy to return...

Nice and cozy, pleasantly quiet

A restaurant "attached" to an "assisted living facility." The entrance door is rather inconspicuous and difficult to reach, and I would describe the space as "practical." Lunch service is quick and effective, although on my first visit in May 2025, the salad I ordered was forgotten. The food is efficient and good, served in a large kitchen, and they also serve coffee and cake. However, I find the drinks (e.g., spritzer) in the 0.2-liter bottles too expensive, although they are good quality. I "landed" at €25 for a vegetarian lunch, a drink, cake, and espresso, including a tip. I'll try out the pool table and foosball table soon—I think they're rarely used anyway...

We always love coming here. The staff is genuinely friendly, attentive, and quick, and the food is excellent, honest, and free of artificial flavors and enhancers, always beautifully presented. The salads are simply delicious. The interior is bright, welcoming, and comfortable, with plenty of space. You simply feel at home here and are sure to leave feeling full and satisfied.

Der Service war aufmerksam, fachkundig und sehr freundlich. Einziger Negativpunkt: Es fehlt ein Hinweisschild an der Hauptstraße, denn das Restaurant liegt etwas zurückgesetzt und war schwer zu finden (3 verschiedene Navis führten uns in die Irre)

Great food, great atmosphere. The combination of young and old in the restaurant also makes it a great meeting place for several generations.

There were four of us, two of whom found their food good, two of whom weren't so enthusiastic, but that's certainly a matter of taste. For example, the ox cheeks were cured and the sauce was sweet and sour, which we didn't know and expected differently. The cordon bleu was filled with Camembert + cranberries, but that's what was on the menu and that's how we ordered it. So it would be complaining at a high level! The ambience is wonderful and the staff is totally on their toes. So I would still recommend it and say: keep your eyes open when choosing your food. Maybe choose the standard dishes rather than unusual ones, because they were very good.

I celebrated my 60th birthday with 20 people. The service was top. Despite 20 people, everyone was served their chosen breakfast quickly. Very nice atmosphere. Nice staff

Quiet atmosphere with nice furnishings

Good food and lots of space, you can also eat here with a wheelchair and stroller.

First of all, the positive: The restaurant is large, the furnishings are very modern and bright and the ambience is good. For the summer season there are terraces with seating both in front of the house and at the back. I think the concept is really good and remarkable: inclusion is very important here and the “Franz” integrates well into the retirement home. You also see a lot of seniors at dinner; sometimes also together with nursing staff. The service staff was nice and accommodating; However, a bit overwhelmed due to the number of guests. Now the but: You can clearly tell from the food that the focus here is very much on seniors. The portions are very small and there is hardly any seasoning. Salt, flavors, sweetness and spiciness are missing. We treated ourselves to a Lillet Wild Berry beforehand. It was tasty; But we were missing some decoration. No mint, just a few frozen raspberries. For starters we had lamb's lettuce with bacon and crackers and a mixed salad. The potato mustard dressing on the lamb's lettuce was homemade, the salad was very good and extensively decorated and really very tasty. Things were completely different with the mixed salad: the dressing was far too sweet and tasted like a convenience product. The main course was the schnitzel with fries and sauce. There was no salt on the fries, the schnitzel was fried; therefore a bit dry and hardly seasoned. The sauce was a disaster and either from Maggi or Knorr. Finally, a small dessert: a “mini-panacotta” and a “mini-crème brûlée”. We actually like small desserts. But then there should be something to it. With the crème brûlée again zero decoration; not a berry or anything else and so small that it was eaten with exactly 3 teaspoons (see also the picture in relation to the size of the teaspoon). And that's almost cheeky for 4 euros. Since the quality and price-performance ratio of the drinks and food in the restaurant are significantly more important than the ambience and feel-good factor, we can unfortunately only award 3 stars.

We were at Restaurant Franz for the first time for Sunday brunch on March 2nd, 2025, and it definitely won't be the last time. All the dishes were very good, some like the carpaccio, the salmon or the trout fillet were great. The entire staff was very attentive and friendly. The price-performance ratio is top.

Delicious breakfast, cozy atmosphere. The only criticism was that the coffee came 15 minutes before the breakfast plate, so it was cold.

We went for brunch. Everything was delicious, there was a wide selection, and everything was more than adequate. The staff was consistently very friendly. The only negative point is the sparkling wine at the beginning. Instead of Spanish sparkling wine, perhaps you should consider switching to a secco from a local wine cooperative. But otherwise, we'd be happy to go back.

There is something for everyone when it comes to food. Nice service. I highly recommend the homemade jam as it is very tasty.

🌷 Hey, yesterday afternoon we were at Franz's... 🌷 ...the Franz is located in Achern in the Carré at the glassworks. The cooking there is good, traditional and creative. From breakfast to lunch, there are also cakes and snacks (the restaurant usually closes at 8:30 p.m., but of course it stays open later for events) 😋. Directly next door is the modern care center for seniors and young adults 🙏

Everything is great. Were there for a family celebration and were extremely satisfied. Everyone was very nice and attentive.

Dishes are usually not well seasoned.

The food was very tasty and the service was extremely accommodating. We also liked the atmosphere, even if it seemed a bit sterile. We were particularly pleasantly surprised that we received such a warm welcome on New Year's Day, shortly before the kitchen closed. We are happy to recommend this restaurant.

I was in this restaurant yesterday. I am fascinated by the surroundings and the cuisine. The staff was extremely friendly. Absolutely normal prices and great meals. I will definitely come back.

Sometimes I spend my lunch break in the restaurant, which is always particularly relaxing and nice. Occasionally I also order something from the large menu outside of the day because it is always very good. That's always particularly good. The kitchen always thinks about seasonal dishes and you can tell that they cook with a lot of love. I am always very satisfied and will miss Restaurant Franz very much when I start my new job. The conditions have a lot to do but are still very, very nice. You feel very comfortable with this colorful, matching furnishings.

Good, wholesome food, nicely prepared and very attentive service. The atmosphere is particularly striking and pleasant, as several generations eat and chat together.🙃 Price-performance is good.

In a nice environment, children were also catered for (painting offered), and the food was good. The vegan rice dish was only for a small appetite, but we could have used a little spice power... The creation in and of itself was good. The bottom line is that we were satisfied and would/will visit again, especially since the good service deserves it!

We had very nice service, the atmosphere is nice and modern. There were vegan options, even oat milk for the coffee. The food tasted very good. Totally recommended. We didn't know beforehand that the restaurant was in a retirement home, but that wasn't a problem.

We went to Franz for Sunday brunch, nothing was missing. The service staff and the boss were very nice and always present. A successful start and highly recommended.

We had reserved several holiday breakfasts. Service: I am very disappointed with the service. Unfortunately a glass broke. Unfortunately I was given two rags to wipe it off myself. Unfortunately, shards were scattered everywhere. After several requests, I was also given napkins to dry the floor and table, as the rags were dripping with juice... Unfortunately they didn't ask about cuts either... Unfortunately, during the course of the visit we were not asked whether we would like any more drinks... Last but not least, after asking several times, we had to wait 20 minutes for service to pay. I had to ask twice if someone could come and collect. Unfortunately we discovered that the service had added the small sausage plate and the drink, which was covered in shards and juice, to the bill. Eat: We had booked the big holiday dinner. There was plenty of sausage, cheese, fruit and confiture, Nutella. Unfortunately, the amount of the small baked rolls was very small, so there was a lot left over. It was described on the menu that there was a glass of sparkling wine and a glass of orange juice. Unfortunately the glasses were filled differently. Some champagne glasses were filled 1/4 full with orange juice or champagne, some were actually filled even less... The yoghurts specified were not made available to every guest, which I found very unfortunate. Unfortunately, I will not visit Restaurant Franz again after this incident and unfortunately I cannot recommend it to anyone else.

I am very disappointed!!!!! 7 of us were there for breakfast. We stupidly dropped a glass of orange juice at the beginning. Everything was full, including a small sausage plate (with broken pieces and orange juice). The waitress said in an annoyed tone whether we wanted a new sausage plate (should we eat broken pieces?!?!) What a question.. Well...not only that we had to pay extra for this sausage plate and the ojuice in addition to the breakfast . The waitress gave us a rag to clean ourselves. Then napkins. Impossible!!!!! EVERYTHING WAS FULL!!! WE ALSO HAD TO TAKE THE NAPKINS TO THE TRASH OURSELVES! At such a price you can expect the service to make up for it and, above all, to be more polite! Never again!!!!!! We weren't asked once if we wanted something more to drink. The store is impossible! The food was OK. The salmon was just pretty warm already!

I'm very disappointed! During our visit today we had booked a small celebration with breakfast. Right at the beginning a glass broke and broke into small pieces. The shards were then placed on a small sausage platter and the orange juice ran down the table. When we told the waitress, she simply gave us a cloth to clean with. We then had to put away the orange juice and the shards ourselves. Where is the service??? We then got a new glass and a new small sausage platter. In between, no one asked us if we wanted something to drink. When we wanted to pay, the waitress charged us for the new sausage plate and the new glass. When we asked why we had to pay for it, the waitress said that the old sausage platter with broken pieces could no longer be used and had to be thrown away. We couldn't use it anymore because it was full of broken pieces. I thought it was pretty cheeky of the waitress to charge for the new glass and plate. In general, the service didn't seem likeable. Because of today's experience I will definitely not be coming back!!!!

Very BAD service!!!! There wasn't even a proper hello said. When a champagne glass accidentally tipped over and broke. We didn't even look or ask if anyone had hurt themselves, they only gave us wet rags and we had to wipe everything up ourselves. (We also had to ask for dry towels ourselves). Since shards fell into a plate of sausage, we asked if we wanted another one. The overturned glass was replaced without any questions. In the end they wanted to PAY ADDITIONALLY for the overturned glass (even though we didn't say we wanted a new one) and the mini plate of selection (4 slices of sausage), none of which was eaten. During our stay no one came to ask if we wanted anything else. The rolls were too few for the number of people, they were soon empty and no offer was made to bring new ones. (We had to ask ourselves again. To be fair the ambience is nice. The food was okay, but it didn't look fresh (fruit was a bit dry) (salmon was lukewarm and had apparently been on the plate for a long time and had already given off pink water). Very minimalistic for expensive breakfasts.

I can only agree with the numerous positive reviews. We like to visit FRANZ during our stays in Achern. The ambience and the food always exceed expectations. Last visit: Salad with rump steak was ideal. Keep it up!!

We've been here for brunch several times and we're thrilled every time. The offering and quality are great, the team is very friendly and the atmosphere is modern and pleasant. You don't sit so close to each other. The buffet is always appetizing and there is something for everyone. Only recommended.

Superlatives are always difficult to convey. But here they are really appropriate. FOOD was really plentiful and tasty and the quality was worth the money. We each ordered the salad plates individually, in particular the one with rump steak, which was served absolutely perfectly. Therefore all 6 thumbs up because there were three of us today. And we will definitely be happy to come back. The service was also first class in every way. Thank you very much for the evening.

The restaurant is part of the concept of a seniors' residence. Spacious seating areas with bright lighting. Service is friendly and attentive. Food different. The starter soup was very tasty. Unfortunately, the main course had errors: the schnitzel was finished and the spaetzle was left in the water for too long.
