Restaurant Fatamorgana in Mülheim an der Ruhr

A little dated, the owner was very friendly and helpful, the prices are moderate, parking is available further up about 150 meters away, yesterday to our surprise we had a belly dancer who made the evening even more enjoyable for us with good food.

We discovered this restaurant through the Schlemmerblock magazine. Hospitality is truly a top priority here. I called ahead to ask if I could bring my dog, and he was greeted with a small bowl of water. The service was very friendly, and we received good advice on our choices. My mother even got a taste of an unfamiliar dish. The selection of starters was a taste experience! The main courses were also delicious. Rounded off with a delicious dessert and fresh tea! A good selection of vegetarian dishes, too. We will definitely be back! Thank you for this wonderful evening.

The menu for two was fantastic, with 12 starters full of deliciousness, and the main course just as delicious. The ambiance is oriental and beautiful. I'd gladly go back 😃

A small but incredibly cozy restaurant. The food is incredibly delicious. The appetizers alone are worth a visit. Everything was well seasoned, the meat and fish were super tender. The dessert not too sweet. The service was perfect, super friendly, attentive and a joy.

We returned after a long time. The quality and service remained consistently excellent. We sat in the beautifully designed courtyard. The value for money is truly excellent. We had a sumptuous three-course meal for two people plus several drinks for just under €63. Absolutely recommend it

The menu included 12 appetizers... we were almost stuffed after the delicious starters. But since the main course was also such a blast, we tucked away with dessert. The value for money was absolutely fine. Homemade dips, grilled meat and fish, all freshly prepared. It was truly delicious. And if you're not sure what to order, it's best to ask the waiter; they'll give you a good recommendation.

This was my first time here. We ordered a fish and meat platter, and the waiter served us the appetizer and was very friendly. I was surprised by the size of the plate with the food we ordered! The fish was top-notch, tender, and juicy. There was a huge piece of lemon that I could have taken home with me. After the main course, the waiter served us a traditional dessert that left an unforgettable impression. I give it 12/10; I'd gladly go back!

Small, cozy and authentic. Fortunately, the dishes are only partially adapted to typical German tastes. The appetizer plates are a must-try. The owner (= service) is simply a good guy you can't help but like. (Come as a guest and show respect for the work being done for you, and receive respect and friendliness in return.) We ordered from this restaurant for the first time today via Lieferando and were absolutely thrilled! After being disappointed with other orders many times, this time the food really surprised us – in the best possible way! Everything was delicious, fresh, and they even threw in a free dessert that we hadn't ordered. Delivery was incredibly fast, and everything arrived piping hot. Overall, a truly fantastic experience! We'd definitely order from here again! - Now, 8 months later, we've eaten there, and our opinion remains the same! Top-notch food and great service! We'll be back :-)

We were there with a larger group for the first time in a long time and had a truly wonderful evening. The food was delicious. I love the many appetizer plates ;-) and they even refilled the menu when needed! The main course also left nothing to be desired; the meat, fish, and various side dishes were all very tasty. We were here for a buffet meal at the weekend. In short: This visit will remain in our most positive memories. The service is extremely friendly and attentive. The buffet impresses with quality over quantity. The selection is very manageable, but all the stops are pulled out in terms of taste: freshly prepared, skilfully seasoned, authentic and simply incredibly delicious. Personally, I much prefer that to a 30-meter buffet with an overwhelming selection but only mediocre taste performance. We will definitely be back and can warmly recommend Fatamorgana to lovers of oriental cuisine.

A little disappointed, we were persuaded to go to the buffet that everything would be the same, like ordering from a menu, well🤔 I didn't find any fish at all, some of the chicken skewers were fried black and the buffet offering was quite manageable 🙃 And the buffet right next to the door to the toilets wasn't a happy idea either

Tasty and friendly. Price/performance fits. The restaurant is small, so the tables are closely spaced. Since we were there at lunchtime, I can't judge how crowded it is in the evening. But we wouldn't mind a "family" atmosphere either. We'll definitely be back.

Simply a very nice restaurant all around, the service is incredibly friendly and also very fast. The two of us ordered the Fatamorgana starter and each a mixed grill platter and the portions were huge and really tasty! The atmosphere is decorated with love, you really feel comfortable. I'm looking forward to visiting the restaurant again!

After having used the delivery service several times, we ate in the restaurant for the first time today. It was really great. The food was very tasty and the service was really perfect. We felt very, very comfortable and we are already looking forward to the next time.

Because of the many positive reviews, we wanted to test the restaurant. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Apart from the falafel and the eggplant (starters), we didn't like anything. Service was hardly guest-oriented. Definitely overpriced for value for money.

Good food, unobtrusive but attentive service. We found it a bit cool, even though the restaurant was very full. This also made it seem a bit cramped. Tables are close together, so even the waitress had problems serving us food. But I will definitely eat there again when I crave Arabic, Egyptian cuisine.

We sat in the outdoor area. There are a lot of things that could be changed here, the first impression wasn't positive for us, but you shouldn't let that put you off. It was a very hot day and too warm inside, it looked nice there. The food quickly changed the first impression and the employees were all very friendly and happy to answer questions. We decided on the menu, 12 starters, one grilled fish and one meat and dessert. Price-performance ratio is okay, considering the current price increases in the food sector. Would love to come back.

A bit hidden but definitely worth a visit. Both the guest room and the inner courtyard are furnished with a lot of love. You get Arabic/Egyptian cuisine that is clearly above snack bar quality. The fresh peppermint tea and the homemade falafel are particularly recommended. The only criticism...some tables are too small to accommodate the entire selection.

Totally nice restaurant with outdoor seating, all of which are very nicely designed. The food was pleasantly seasoned and the dessert was unique. The service was super nice and the fact that we still got a seat without a reservation was really great.

The food is not good at all. Everything is frozen food. Nothing is fresh, dishes were too salty and too fatty. My Egyptian partner and I wanted to leave after the first bite. The restaurant itself is very outdated. The toilets were not very clean. Looked like public restrooms. The service is fine but not great.

Meat cooked to perfection, super-loving and attentive staff. We had menu 2, which would have been enough for 4 people. Table arrangement is completely okay and not as some non-cosmopolitan people describe here. The absolute recommendation for anyone who is not typically German, small-minded and narrow-minded. Drinks were also filled well over the brim and my glass could easily have been touched on the rim with a finger a thousand times. The overall rating here is completely underrated because of stupid people. The prices are super cheap for what is on offer. The staff is friendly and attentive, the quality of the food is good and it is beautifully presented. The glasses are held at the top of the drinking rim. The price level and the quality offered are consistent. The seating is quite tight, which is a bit uncomfortable, especially when there are a lot of visitors. Very tasty food. A small selection of starters would be served as a greeting of the house to shorten the waiting time for the main course. I found it very friendly and attentive. It didn't take long until the main course came. For dessert there was also a small variation on the house. I was very surprised by this hospitality! Thank you! Friendly staff and a typical Egyptian atmosphere.

The small starters were good but the main course had just too much meat, too strongly seasoned and grilled for too long. It was also interesting that the staff, including the chef, suddenly sat down at a table in the restaurant to eat. But somehow family-like. I think you have to know a little more about the menu and get the right ones.
