We had dinner there with 5 people last night. Service was ok, but my husband had a piece of plaice that was old. He didn't eat them either and that means something to my husband. When we were clearing up, we told the staff and they said they would do it in the kitchen. Unfortunately no one came out of the kitchen, which I found very unfortunate. We definitely won't be coming back

We sat outside and wanted to have the umbrella open. According to the staff, it wasn't possible because it could rain at some point, although no rain was forecast for the whole day and it was supposedly too windy. Then we got the announcement that they actually don't serve outside. I don't know why the Elbe Terrace is called the Elbe Terrace.

It's a shame about this great location with the sensational view, from which you could have gotten so much more! We had a birthday dinner for four. Unfortunately, both the food and service were below average. Surprisingly, there were only 4 tables occupied in the large restaurant on a summer Friday evening. The three service staff only had to look after 14 guests at the same time, so they were not particularly busy. I chose a rump steak with fries and salad, my husband chose a Jägerschnitzel. We didn't blame him for the fact that the service employee couldn't remember which of us had ordered which dish despite the low occupancy. Unfortunately, the expectation of a delicious, juicy rump steak was not fulfilled. The 250 g rump steak, which was served in a strangely atypical form as a long, narrow strip, was almost completely cooked instead of medium/rare, i.e. well done, and the quality of the meat also left a lot to be desired. The meat tasted like it had been stored in the freezer or had not been frozen properly. In any case, the steak was dry, tasteless and the fries weren't much better. The salad as a side dish seemed to be a typical "mixed bag" salad, the honey mustard dressing tasted strangely sweet and musty to all of us and therefore to none of us. So we let some of the salad go back almost completely. The Jägerschnitzel consisted of two schnitzels that were ok with a light, relatively neutral mushroom sauce. In any case, this was not a hunter's sauce, but a simple light cream sauce. Our friend had salmon fillets that had obviously suffered the same freezer problem; they were also dry. You could see that he definitely wasn't enjoying himself while eating. After serving and during the meal, no one came to our table to ask whether the food was okay or whether we would like any more drinks. Instead, the staff was chatting animatedly at the back of the restaurant and the service employee who served us sat outside on a chair near the entrance area, disinterested in the guests and busy with his cell phone, for a long time. After we had finished eating, we were left to sit in front of our empty plates for about half an hour until it was cleared away and we could order more drinks and desserts. At the next table, a gentleman only received his ordered beer after asking several times and after he had already finished the main course. Our desserts for the price of a decent ice cream sundae consisted of 3 comparatively small scoops of Mövenpick ice cream with a small dollop of cream and some eggnog/Baileys on top in a normal drinking glass. So nothing out of the ordinary and nothing you could have done much wrong with, but nothing to score either. The question of whether it was tasty only came up when we cleared away the empty plates that we had been sitting in front of for far too long. My comment that the steak was well done and dry was again just as disinterestedly ignored and there was certainly no apology in the form of a cappuccino or something similar. But there wouldn't have been any anyway because the machine was broken. This time we ignored the wish of the friendly young lady who said goodbye to us that the restaurant would be honored again soon, as this will probably not be the case again. Apart from the great view, there was nothing that would even remotely prompt us to do so. And unfortunately the view alone is not enough for a restaurant. I would have liked to give more stars given the location itself, but unfortunately both the food and the poor and sometimes non-existent service are no longer worth it.

We sat on the patio it was a beautiful day. Gorgeous view. I ordered spaghetti, it was decent. My son ordered a burger and the bun was rock hard. Others ordered tortellini, the sauce was not good. I'm sure other items on the menu would be better. I saw a dessert go past us that looked good!

I come from Lauenburg and wanted to finally get to know this restaurant. When I arrived a waitress came up to me, With the words no matter what you think I won't serve you for less than an hour, I can't do it no matter what you think. It was the most unfriendly thing I have experienced in my almost 60 years. Despite all understanding of the lack of staff, we must remain friendly. I would have closed part of the terrace. To avoid something like that. There were two more from Honsdorf who had the same experience as me. I was so speechless that I couldn't move. Had to recover straight away and couldn't believe it. I work in customer service. Even when I'm overwhelmed, I always remain friendly. Even there are customers I don't need, but I still have to stay friendly. If she had said I'm sorry, we have a staff shortage, I can't do justice to you. Please understand that you are welcome to visit another day. Everything is very good! Fantastic views and the best food we've had in a long time. I had “Elbterrassen Dreierrlei” and was extremely satisfied. The fried potatoes were great, the herring was mild and tender and the roast beef and sour meat were very tasty! Our wait was okay. It always depends on how many people have just ordered. We were lucky and were very satisfied.

The location of the restaurant is great, as it guarantees an excellent view over the Elbe and into Lower Saxony, which you can also enjoy in beach chairs. Even in the guest room you feel connected to nature through large panoramic windows. The service was very attentive, always available and very friendly. A very extensive menu made choosing difficult. We ordered 1x grill plate and 1x a variation of roast beef, sour meat and herring. The presentation of the plates was an eye-catcher and both dishes were delicious, no Maggi sauce, everything was homemade. Great value for money! We will be back definitely.

We made a reservation on site about eight weeks ago, breakfast after the wedding. We were greeted with “Hello, yes, I’ll just say that it might take a little longer today.” No congratulations to the bride and groom, the table was set like any other table. After about 40 minutes the first coffee was served. Drinks were left on the counter for a while and then my son served them. We then noticed when looking at the food/breakfast menu that the prices did not match those on the internet. The luxury breakfast that we had at the test dinner and is still offered on the website is now called the captain's breakfast. Same combination, two prices. 13.90 € vs. 19.50 € that's pretty cheeky. The bread that comes with breakfast was missing, when asked they said they didn't have any. After a while, four slices of bread were served for three breakfasts. What can I say. ENJOYMENT WITH A VIEW OF THE ELBE With us you can expect a top-class culinary experience every day. Quote website. For €19.50 there were baked rolls and cold cuts from the discounter, the salmon was ice cold and at breakfast there was still some of the packaging between the salmon slices, but the Nutella was delicious. Great located restaurant. Service is so-so. Could be unfriendliness, or just hypothermia. Pasta with Gorgonzola was delicious. The pan fish was also quite tasty. In this respect, the many bad reviews cannot be confirmed. It can always be better, but it can also be significantly worse. Very nice restaurant, we were there for breakfast today for Mother's Day. The ambience is nice, the staff is a bit overwhelmed, people who wanted to reorder but were hardly noticed. Unfortunately the butter had expired. When I asked, someone from the kitchen said it wasn't that bad. Afterwards, there was butter in pieces and no longer packaged. We had 2 rolls too few. Drinks came after about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, breakfast came 40 minutes later. Price performance ratio is great. Hoping for improvement as it is a nice restaurant and you can do a lot with it

Wir hatten am 10.05.24 unseren Hochzeitstag und wollten diesen mit gutem Essen und Trinken am Abend genießen. Eine Woche vorher bestellte ich einen Tisch; mir wurde zugesagt, das man diesen schön schmücken würde. Am Abend selber waren drei Gäste im Restaurant und die Bedienung sagte, wir können uns einen Platz aussuchen. Geschmückt war gar nichts, wir kamen uns überflüssig vor. Der erste Tisch, an dem wir uns setzen wollten, war dreckig, nicht gesäubert. Zumindest bekamen wir je ein Getränk auf`s Haus. Ein bestelltes 500g- Ribeye- Steak entpuppte sich als ein zäher, mit Sehnen durchzogener Fleischklumpen, den ich zurückgehen ließ. Das zweite Steak war teilweise roh und ich ließ es ebenfalls zurückgehen. Dann brach ich das Essen ab, zumal der bestellte Pannfisch meiner Frau trocken war, die Sauce dazu nicht definierbar und sauer war und ebenfalls nicht schmeckte. Das Restaurant kann ich nicht weiterempfehlen, die Kellnerin redete sich mehr raus als das sie versuchte, Abhilfe zu schaffen.. Geld kann man auch woanders aus dem Fenster werfen. Wobei ich zumindest meine beiden Steaks nicht bezahlen musste.

My partner and I were on the terrace in sunny weather on May 1st. She ordered a rump steak with fries and I ordered roast beef with fried potatoes. We waited at least 50 minutes for the food. My roast beef was below average, barely seasoned and the fried potatoes were lukewarm and very fatty. The “rump steak” was a disaster. She ordered it medium rare and it arrived completely raw and cold. The side dish was the same greasy fried potatoes instead of the fries we ordered. It was therefore inedible for her and she let it go back. In the meantime there was only a brief, unkind apology. I then ate my tasteless roast beef alone. At least a small salad should have been served on the house at that point so that we could at least have eaten together. Another 20 minutes later the waiter came back with the new plate. This time the “rump steak” was well done, but unfortunately it was fried to death and was simply tough! To round things off, instead of the cappuccino we ordered, we had a lukewarm coffee with milk. Conclusion: Apart from the ambience, we cannot recommend it. The staff is not trained and there was no professional handling of our complaint.

Food was bland and tasteless. Potatoes were not freshly cooked. I would have expected that they would accommodate me in terms of price. Unfortunately I paid full price.

I always enjoy coming here and enjoy the great view in good weather several times a year. Price performance is definitely good, not very good... Otherwise it would have been five stars.

There were three of us here and had lunch. Highly recommended, price and performance go well together. We can only recommend it and will definitely come back again soon.

This restaurant is worth a weekend trip. In addition to the view of the Elbe, which you don't even know as a North German. Everything fits here. Food (small menu), but tasted very good. Yesterday we had dinner in this great restaurant with 5 people and 4 dogs. When the weather was great, we sat on the terrace with this breathtaking view of the water. We were greeted very nicely by the funniest, nicest and competent service person GABY! served. We received great advice and ate the best steak and fried potatoes ever. Even our dogs were pampered. We are very enthusiastic about this all-round feel-good service And we will be happy to come back to this wonderful, cozy and beautifully furnished restaurant. Dear Gaby, keep it up! ❤️

One rare and one well done. The fried potatoes were not crispy and drowned in fat. The prices are good for the drinks too.

To anticipate it. Never again! We were there with 4 people. On the one hand, to experience a nice evening with good food and to test the restaurant. We checked the reviews beforehand, but wanted to see for ourselves whether it was suitable as a wedding venue. The menu is very small and manageable. It doesn't actually bother me at all. For me, I prefer small but good ingredients. The selection here is extremely boring. Nothing that I couldn't cook myself. So we ordered 3 x steak with fried potatoes and 1 x grilled vegetables. All 3 steaks were ordered medium rare and came rare.2 of the steaks were extremely stringy and tough. The fried potatoes were drowned in fat and mushy, as well as completely tasteless. The meat was poor quality, I think from the supermarket. The sauces were probably ready-made products. The grilled vegetables were mushy and fluffy. The service seemed haphazard and overwhelmed. There were only 4 tables occupied. Clearly not enough for such a large restaurant. A pity . The location is great. High above the Elbe with a great view. A great outdoor area. What a pity. Could have been a hit here in the circle. They won't see us again.

When I went to the Elbterrasse for the first time, I had a very positive impression. I was greeted by a very nice and friendly young lady and she immediately took my jacket from me and took me to a very nice table with a great view. I didn't have to wait long for my food. It was hot, tasty and very pretty to look at. I highly recommend it. Thanks for the great stay.

By far the worst service ever...waited more than 1.5 hours for food. Staff was overwhelmed and completely disorganized. But never, never again!

I have rarely eaten so badly. The lunch buffet was miserable. Duck breast lukewarm, red cabbage warmed up from the jar, no suitable side dishes. Chicken legs lukewarm, colorful vegetables were frozen and mushy, stuffed eggplant with minced meat in tomato sauce was very fat and mushy. Minced meat cartilaginous. The cold buffet was equally bad. The iceberg lettuce was brown, the fried zucchini slices tasted like cheap breading, the surface of the “I don’t know what kind of salad” was completely dried out, and the cut fruit had been sitting outside for a while. The desserts were nothing either. There was leftover food stuck to all the plates and they were probably taken out of the dishwasher with greasy fingers. They were also cold. The tablecloth was dirty, the tea light was burned out and wasn't replaced. Overall, I came to the conclusion that there were no staff in the kitchen, service or scullery who had even the slightest bit of qualifications. And last but not least, from my seat I had a clear view of a kitchen lady who was scooping up the bins of leftover food with a large 2 liter ladle. I then imagined how she would use that trowel... When I asked if it would taste good, I answered honestly and ordered a double espresso. This tasted good and was hot too. A restaurant in such a location and then this disaster, what a shame!

We were there for the breakfast buffet, the service staff was friendly, but seemed overwhelmed, some dishes were missing from the buffet and food wasn't replenished in a timely manner. Price was OK. Maybe there were initial difficulties!!! will try again in the summer because the view of the Elbe is great.

The evening buffet was very tasty, hot and plentiful. The service was very nice and accommodating. The musician was the icing on the cake. Unfortunately we couldn't stay longer. We will be back definitely. What was missing, however, was New Year's Eve decorations, then everything would have been perfect. But every beginning is difficult.

We went to the breakfast buffet, we really liked it and it was very tasty. From antipasti, salmon, cold cuts, cheese, sheep's cheese, various rolls and much more. The staff was friendly and attentive 👍. We will come again 😄

RATING NEW YEAR'S EVE BUFFET 2023 On New Year's Eve 2023, my girlfriend and I enjoyed a wonderful evening in this restaurant. In addition to a live program (sole entertainer), food was offered in buffet form on New Year's Eve. From reception to farewell, the entire staff (service and chef) was extremely friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed the food. Even though we joined comparatively late, the food was not only warm, it was extremely tasty and tasted like it had been freshly served. In addition to a large selection of starters, there was also a lot of choice for the main course, dessert and even a selection for a cheese platter. We would like to thank the entire team for this great (culinary) evening and wish only the best for the new year 2024, much success and lots of nice and appreciative guests! P.S.: In our opinion, the price for the buffet was even set too low. With this offer you are welcome to take more, as great as the cooking! ;)

I had breakfast with my family, it was delicious, the staff was attentive and kind, thank you.

Catastrophic! After the water damage, the new tenants appear to be completely clueless and listless. We were there at 6pm and only one of 2 tables. The waitress barely spoke German and was left completely alone on her third day. We waited 40 minutes for a drink. There was no one ordered dish and no one from the menu, we were informed of this after about 20 minutes each. The food only came after about an hour. One meal was then forgotten and brought within 10 minutes. For the rump steak, no questions were asked about the size or degree of doneness. We got one large and two small ones according to the bill. The prices on the bill differed from those on the menu.

Were very satisfied. The food was very tasty, very friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Always happy.

So 1 star because the food (brunch) was at least lukewarm. I can't recommend it. It used to be good. The best thing is the view.

Actually 0 stars. We reserved a table for the family and didn't get it. Then we were put together with another family. After stress at the beginning, we wanted to eat something from the buffet we had booked. However, this was completely cold and tasted like it came out of the bag. (if not worse) The selection was also poor. The manager just sat in the corner and was happy to rip off the guests. 24€ for nothing. At least the Coke was cold. Never again.

Christmas brunch was just bad. The booked table had to be shared with strangers. The dishes were not tasteful. The food was lukewarm and nothing was added. The staff wasn't knowledgeable and didn't know what drinks they had. Last year the food was excellent, this year unfortunately it was a 6. We won't be back.

Wir sind herzlich empfangen worden. Aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienung. Mit dem Essen waren wir ebenfalls zufrieden. Auch auf der Terrasse sind wir danach noch sehr nett bedient worden. Es war ein schönes Ausflugsziel.

Auf unserer Wochenend-Radtour sind wir spontan und ohne Anmeldung in das Restaurant Elbterasse. Wir bekamen einen Platz auf der Terrasse mit tollem Blick über die Elbe nach Niedersachsen. Toller Service, erstklassiges Essen - faires Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Gestaltung der Terrasse bietet noch Luft nach oben, aber ansonsten auf alle Fälle einen Besuch wert ... und mein Mann und ich kommen wieder!

Netter Ort mit schönem Ausblick! Service bringt, die zum Essen bestellte Getränke,.zusätzlich zum Aperitif. Die bestellte Scholle war 1 Stern, geschmacklos, nicht ordentlich gebraten , schwamm im Fett und der Speck war so hart gebraten das man ihn kaum beißen konnte!

Toller Laden! Essen war bisher immer Top! Auswahl nicht nicht groß dafür aber mit Qualität. Meiner Meinung nach bekommt man was für sein Geld. Der Service ist gut aber da ist noch Luft nach oben.

Sehr gutes Buffet. Sehr freundliches Personal. Wir waren absolut zufrieden.

Wir sind als Reisegruppe angekommen. Leider konnte der Bus nicht fliegen sodaß wir ca.30 Minten zu spät angekommen waren. Dem entsprechend war der gesamte Service. Man ließ uns spüren das wir nicht im Zeitplan waren und uns aufforderte zügig zu Essen., denn schließlich gäbe es noch eine Beerdigung!!! Das Essen war nur lauwarm und auf einigen Tellern fehlte noch die Garnierung. Mein Geld werde ich in Zukunft wo anders hintragen wo ich als Gast auch willkommen bin.
