Restaurant Colón in Bielefeld

A solid 4 stars from me. We stumbled across COLON through a voucher book. I have few comparisons to Spanish cuisine and was curious to see what to expect. We quickly found a parking space right next to the restaurant. The restaurant is "older style," decorated with a slight Spanish touch. The tables are comfortably spaced apart. The service was attentive and prompt. The menu is extensive. Cold dishes, hot dishes, fish, meat, vegetables... something for every taste. We tried a lot of different dishes and everything tasted great. The price-performance ratio was absolutely fine, and all in all, the visit turned out to be a great evening.

The soup of the day was already sold out by 6:30 p.m. Ordering coffee wasn't possible either; the machine needed descaling, which apparently no one had noticed beforehand (it was a Saturday!). The Crema Catalana we ordered couldn't be served either, except for one; they'd run out of stock. The outdoor area is a furnished parking lot, after all. The service staff were nice, but certainly not experts. We didn't accept card payments either. I hope the tax office doesn't take notice at some point...

We ended up there spontaneously with friends and decided to share tapas between the four of us. Unfortunately, a few things were forgotten and the tapas were very meager for the price. Of course, you shouldn't expect too much when eating tapas, but a little more than the tapas portion actually was. The staff were very clumsy and didn't come across as particularly professional. The food still tasted very good. When we wanted to pay, we were told that they couldn't pay by card because the card machine was apparently broken. When we asked if there was another way to pay, that unfortunately didn't work either, and they made no effort to find a solution. Unfortunately, this wasn't communicated from the start, so we would have had to walk to the nearest bank. We then suggested leaving our ID there and bringing the money before closing time, which was possible. The food still tasted relatively good, but there were a few minor disappointments for us.

Very pleasant atmosphere, good service, a wide selection of tapas, and the food was delicious! Excellent value for money. Please note that card payments weren't accepted during our visit, so bring cash. I highly recommend the Colon!

We were there for dinner on a Sunday and we were very satisfied. We received a friendly welcome and were asked where we would like to sit. The weather was nice; we sat outside in the tent even though there was still plenty of space inside. We didn't have to reserve and didn't have to wait long. We were served. We didn't have to wait long for the food either and it was very, very tasty. I can only recommend the grilled salmon with rice and salad; it was unique! We'll be back.

We booked a table for 8 people on July 4, 2025, outside if the weather was good. First impression: nothing prepared (no table, no cutlery, etc.), cheap camping tables, a tent that was okay, and the chairs were nothing special either. At these prices, they should get better furniture. The waiters were nice but hopelessly overwhelmed. Drinks took too long, and serving food to 8 people in a timely manner isn't easy (I have 50 years of restaurant experience). Very rarely did anyone show up to sell drinks. Now for the food: The pasta dishes were okay, but the tapas have a lot of room for improvement. I won't go into detail here, as it would be too time-consuming. After the first few had their food, cutlery finally came to the table upon request. Conclusion: Once and never again; there are better Spanish restaurants!

Warm, friendly, great food and, as usual with Spaniards, there is always something for every taste :-) That's really nice, especially when you want to eat something in a colorful group. It definitely makes sense to reserve in advance as it is always busy.

The Pimientos de Padrón were almost raw and we paid €5 for five pieces. Also, the tortilla appeared to have just been reheated in the microwave.

Absolutely fabulous food. Great service from 1 employee. Unfortunately 1 point deducted due 1 arrogant employee who also didn”t know how to pour a Weizen.

Very good Spaniard with delicious tappas and various Spanish dishes. Relaxed, pleasant atmosphere with very friendly staff. Even late at night you can still get something served. A minus costs the 5th star: you have to pay in cash. I can understand that in an ice cream parlor, but I don't understand it in such a good (and not cheap) restaurant.

We actually wanted to spend a nice evening there and spend some money. I even reserved a table by phone. When we arrived, the waiter rudely pointed to a small table in the next room where a group of 7 people were celebrating. To put it more clearly: It wasn't a table, it was a sideboard. I then politely asked again whether we could possibly get another table (the restaurant was empty) but the waiter said that was definitely not possible. So we decided to go to another restaurant where they value their guests. So Colon will never see us again!

We always enjoyed eating here, it was always delicious and the staff was great. Unfortunately that has changed. The tapas are no longer what they used to be. The paella could only be called a butter rice dish, we had ordered chicken in advance...and found a heap of fish stuff and a large whole skin-on chicken breast in long grain rice. Plus it was only lukewarm. The wine was served in sangria carafes. It's a shame... but I wish the team continued success... unfortunately we won't be coming again

The people there are nice and accommodating, the prices are also okay, the location is a bit out of the way. Unfortunately, the food doesn't really knock the needles off the spruce. I didn't find the atmosphere particularly appealing either. You get full, but nothing more.

It was very tasty. We were a bit unlucky because there was a larger Christmas party with us, so it got quite loud. The drinks order was also a bit undercooked and the food took longer, but I firmly assume that it was due to the larger group. The staff was very nice and the food was unbeatably delicious. You can tell that they don't skimp on the quality of the food here. We will definitely come back again and hopefully have better luck without larger company 😊👍🏻

We had a small family celebration and felt very comfortable. The food was hot and delicious. You had to pre-order the paella, which we didn't know because that would have been our first choice. Here and there the drinks service was a bit slow, but it was also very busy. The boys always had a funny saying. Unfortunately, parking spaces are only available sporadically but there were side/side streets. All in all, definitely worth a visit...

Everything is about 75-80% good. I find the prices here to be too high for the service/portion size. In terms of taste, everything was only in the 2-/3+ range. Others can do that better.

“Breaded crab meat” is on the menu, and on the packaging of the frozen product it says “crab claws breaded with surimi”. The squid rings are also frozen goods. I won't add anything else that could come from the TK department. Unfortunately it was an absolute disappointment.

Were there for the first time. The service wasn't exactly the fastest (I don't know if that was due to the day), but it was friendly. It was well attended (there were still spaces available, but not many). Drinks and dishes as well as the dessert were very good and there was nothing to complain about. Ambience was OK. is to be judged subjectively.

A very nice restaurant. You feel very well taken care of and the food is particularly delicious. Personally, I liked the spicy salmie best and the service with the friendly colleagues is the biggest plus point about the restaurant. Once you're there, order the tapas and trust the waiter Panch. After my call we were able to get a table for two people at short notice. The ambience in the restaurant is relatively simple and not really focused on Spanish. The service is very courteous and polite and we were assigned a small table. The drink order was taken quickly and was served quite quickly. The price of €16.50 for half a liter of sangria is definitely excessive, the few pieces of apple as fresh fruit are not enough fresh for us. The wait for the first dishes, aioli and salsa with bread, took an extremely long time. Way too long for cold dishes. The waiting time for the warm tapas was also very long, especially since some convenience products were used. Unfortunately that was disappointing. All in all okay, but a visit is only worth it if you have a lot of time and the culinary standards are not too high.

We were here for the first time today and certainly not the last time. The store was full to capacity. However, I found the noise level to be acceptable and it was still possible to have a good conversation. The service was quick, attentive and super nice. The drinks and food we ordered came quite quickly. I had an enchilada con pollo and an orange ice cream for dessert. Everything was very delicious. If you want to go out for a solid meal and are not into fancy or system catering, this is the right place for you.

Tolles Restaurant mit Wohnzimmer-Flair. Aufmerksames Personal, sehr leckeres Essen, Preis-Leistung passt auch. Sehr gerne wieder.

Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und wir wurden schnell bedient. Die Vorspeise war sehr lecker. Gestört hat mich folgendes: Ich wurde gebeten mein Auto umzuparken. Als ich zum Tisch zurück kam, war die Hauptspeise schon serviert worden.

Eines der besten Restaurants, in denen wir essen war. Der Koch weiß was er macht. Die Kellner sind sehr aufmerksam und jeder Wunsch wird erfüllt. Einfach ein unvergessliches Geschmackserlebnis.

Solides Lokal, angenehme Räumlichkeiten und nettes Personal. Wir haben unter der Woxhe problemlos Platz für zwei bekommen und gut zu Abend gegessen. Preise sind normal für ein Restaurant. Ist okay, alle wollen leben. Toiletten sehr sauber und gepflegt. Das hatte ich auch schon anders in Restaurants. Ich werde gerne wieder dort hingehen, wenn sich die Gelegenheit ergibt.

Geschmacklich gut, Service freundlich und schnell, Preis/ Leistung 👎, sehr überschaubar , bisschen Salat , die 2 Schweinefleischspieße bestanden aus 6 Stückchen, die frisieren Kartoffeln waren vielleicht 2 ganze.

Säuferkneipe die auf Restaurant tut. überall wird erzählt, dass Die Inhaberin ihr bester Gast sei. Ausserdem wird erzählt, dass Traugott Simon als Herforder verkauft wird. Personal soll belogen und betrogen worden sein. Fahrerlaubnis entzogen wegen Alkohol im Strassenverkehr. Wenn das stimmt, richtig so. wegen solchen Leuten sterben Menschen. Vom hören her, ist diese Lokalität alles andere als zu empfehlen.

Relativ teuer, Essen kam bei 6 Personen ungleichmäßig an, Paella (vorbestellt) etwa verspätet im Vergleich zum Rest (5min+). Essen war soweit 4/5 Sterne. Leider laute Livemusik, nicht jedermanns Sache. Da keine aktuelle Speisekarte online zu finden war (mit den angezogenen Preisen), angefügt nochmal die aktuelle Auswahl Januar 2024

Sehr gutes essen, allerdings auch nicht ganz günstig. Sehr nette Bedienung, man sollte es aber nicht zu eilig haben. Allerdings waren wir Samstag Abend da und das Restaurant war voll, daher ist etwas Wartezeit zu entschuldigen. Die Speisen waren auch frisch zubereitet.

Im November das erste Mal dort gewesen - und sicher nicht das letzte Mal. Der Service war nett und sehr aufmerksam, Getränke/Speisen schnell am Tisch und die Tapas super lecker! Das Orangeneis können wir ebenfalls empfehlen. Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Abend bei euch :)

Schönes weihnachtliches Ambiente 2 Tage vor dem 1.Advent !! Das Essen war gut und der Service auch, wobei wir uns fragten, warum werden wir per "du" angesprochen? Das gefiel uns nicht sonderlich gut - Das war uns zu persönlich !!

Wir waren am Dienstag mit mehreren Mädels zu Gast im Colon. Ein toller Service. Wir haben uns jeweils den Vorspeisenteller kalt und warm bestellt. Es gab die Frage was auf den Tellern an Speisen wären und ob man evtl. etwas weglassen könnte. Was kein Problem dar stellte bei dem kalten Vorspeisenteller. Einfach ein toller Service. Alles sehr lecker. Ich würde immer einen Tisch reservieren. Ich kann das Colon nur empfehlen.

Sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Aufmerksam. Kinderfreundlich. Gepflegte Gaststätte, sauber und familiär. Auch das Essen ist gut, wenngleich nicht gehoben. Ein schöner Ort für nette Abende.

Nette Besitzerin, leckeres Essen, freundliches Personal.

Wir haben den Großen warmen Tapasteller, Merluza und Salmon bestellt, leider hatten sie keine Lammkotlets mehr. Das meiste war sehr gut, das Huhn und Fisch aber leicht trocken, etwas zu viel gebraten und leider haben sie die Merluza nicht mit Haut seite nach oben gelassen damit die Haut knusprig bleibt. Cocktails waren alle sehr lecker. Service war auch gut aber bißchen musste man warten bis sie wieder vorbeischauten. Würde wiederkommen.

Keine Ahnung wie das Essen ist, aber von der gelegentlichen Schlagermusik und dem Gegröhle vom Klatschfieh kommt mir das kalte Kotzen. Sowas erwartet man nicht von einem spanischen Lokal. Nie im Leben würde ich da einen Fuß reinsetzen, geschweige denn könnte ich das spanische Essen genießen (was ich durchaus gerne mag). Gruß, ein genervter Anwohner.

Es war schön zu sehen, dass nach dem lockdown noch das ganze Personal von vorher am Start war. Auch an der Freundlichkeit der Servicekräfte und der Qualität der Speisen hat sich nichts geändert. Kommen gerne wieder!

Wir haben das Restaurant mit 4 Personen besucht und (mit Vorbestellung) Paella (Geflügel/Meeresfrüchte) gegessen. Das Personal war freundlich und professionell. Kartenzahlung war zumindest an dem Abend nicht möglich. Das Ambiente könnte man sich etwas spanischer vorstellen. Wir waren etwas überrascht, dass sich 2 Personen eine Pfanne teilen (müssen). Das hätte im Vorfeld kommuniziert werden müssen. Die Paella schmeckte grundsätzlich gut. Das Geflügel war sehr saftig. Normalerweise wird die Paella in der Pfanne serviert, in der sie zubereitet wird. Das war hier nicht der Fall. Es gab insofern keine Kruste zwischen Reis und Pfanne. Die Gambas waren mehlig und auch die Muscheln schmeckten nicht.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker Die Preise sind gerade noch ok. Im großen und ganzen ein schöner Abend .

Nach 30 Minuten wurden wir erst bedient das Essen war enttäuschend, kaltes Essen, Tiefkühltruhe Gemüse, Reis aus dem Beutel. Die Salsa ist fad und dadurch das die extrem kalt war unappetitlich. Das Hackfleisch war Knorpelig. Die Cocktails wässrig. Ich empfehle jeden Abstand zu nehmen. Muss leider einen Stern geben damit ich das veröffentlichen kann.

Wir hatten gestern Abend mit 5 Leuten um 18:30 einen Tisch reserviert und es war um 20 Uhr noch nicht komplett besetzt, aber ich würde empfehlen einen Tisch zu reservieren. Leider hatte der Kellner die Bestellung verloren, weshalb wir 1 Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet haben. Aber Sie haben den Fehler selbst gemerkt und dies gut kommuniziert. Deshalb nur 4 Sterne bei Service, welcher sonst sehr gut war. Jeder macht halt Fehler. Das Essen hingegen war tadellos und sehr Lecker, was allen von uns geschmeckt hat. Ich kann das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen und werde wenn ich mal wieder in Bielefeld bin nochmals besuchen.

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal mit guten Freunden im Restaurant Cólon und hatten einen wunderbaren Abend. Wir entschieden uns für eine größere Auswahl an Tapas, die wir entsprechend untereinander teilten. Alle waren super lecker! Mein persönlicher Favorit waren die Sepia, das aber nur nebenbei gesagt. Die Bedienung war zuvorkommend, sehr freundlich und wohltuend zurückhaltend. Das erlebt man heute auch nicht mehr so oft. Das Restaurant befindet sich offensichtlich in einer ehemaligen "Dorfgaststätte", die Türen und Fenster verraten es... Aber es ist Cólon gelungen, daraus ein sehr schönes Ambiente zu zaubern, indem man sich rundherum wohlfühlt. Meine Empfehlung: Dieses Restaurant sollten Sie unbedingt auf dem Zettel haben, wenn Sie einmal sehr lecker spanisch Essen gehen wollen!
