Quaint cafe. Full of decorative items. Cozy, familiar. Variety of coffee tastes good. Breakfast and brunch possible. Invites you to linger.

The restaurant is very nice and I liked it TODAY. I was there for breakfast with my family and almost everyone got something rotten or bad in the buffet. I had an egg that stank to high heaven. If even one thing in the buffet is rotten the whole buffet MUST be replaced, of course this was not done, instead the owner shouted at a man in the kitchen "This is his fault". The owner still wanted us to pay for 5 out of 7 breakfasts! We were able to agree on 2 breakfasts, €50!!! €50 for rotten food, a bad mood and a ruined family dinner. From a human perspective, it's a shame to ask for money after serving bad food and then DEMANDING OVER €100! NOT RECOMMENDED!

Very pleasant and cozy. As a DJ, I have to say that it was wonderful to have cozy music playing in the background. There are several small, high-quality speakers spread out, which makes the ambience unbeatable!

We visited Fritzlar on a Friday lunchtime and unfortunately many restaurants were still closed. We wanted to eat something so we went to Café Hahn, which is in the center of Fritzlar. The furnishings are really wildly thrown together, but it does have a certain charm. The chemistry between us and the host wasn't right that day. When we got up, the guests next to us also discussed their behavior when paying. Maybe it wasn't a good day. Since we were recently in the Netherlands, we were happy about the Dutch selection of dishes. I saw the pancakes at the next table and decided to just have a portion of fries with the house sauce and my husband ate the frikandel with the fries. Yes, it was edible, but of course nothing special.

A nicely decorated café with a cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately the food was as bad as I have experienced in years. The schnitzel had a puddle of fat on the top, the breading was soggy, the meat of the burger had a fishy aftertaste (I assume the pattie was fried in fat in which fish was previously fried), and the fries and nuggets also tasted like old fat. The club sandwich was ok. We also waited over an hour for this bad food. At least the owner was very insightful and removed the respective dishes from the bill without any problem.

The atmosphere is great, BUT today I waited 20 minutes for anyone to even notice me in the service, even though the waitress was serving the table next to me and, in my opinion, must have seen me. Then I got my coffee, which was taken away from me after 1 minute because it was intended for a table. The cups/glasses were totally dirty. After looking behind the drinks counter, I also saw dirty glass display cases and unhygienic work areas. There is clearly a lack of proper leadership from the boss including his support in service including hospitality on his part. Especially since, based on his own experience, he lets employees run the entire store on their first day, which is completely irresponsible. The store would be a real hit if service and hygiene were worked on.

A great café with very special details in the design. Living room atmosphere and unusual buffet! Unfortunately, the owner is quite moody, but the same excellent service and the special ambience are worth it in my opinion!

Very cozy café with friendly, attentive service. Very good selection, something for everyone. The size of the cake pieces is great for the price and they are also very tasty. When we are in Fritzlar we like to come by.

Ate a currywurst and sweet potato fries there. Everything was great, the friendly service and the food.

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience. Glasses not clean, part of the edge of the plate was broken off. The zucchini in the salad was bitter and my water was probably from the tap even though I had ordered carbonated water. But at least the pancake with bacon and cheese was tasty.

Mixed impression. Nice cafe with a good selection. Unfortunately, breakfast wasn't appealing. Everything was placed on the table one by one without comment, without explanation. At some point spare ribs, chicken drumsticks and fried minced meat suddenly came to the table... not only surprising and unannounced, but also completely unnecessary. Addendum to the answer: As I said, it's a nice cafe with style and ambience. But if there are several sugar shakers and "stuff" lying around on all the tables that the customer has to put away themselves and you ask yourself whether it's even open, then it's not worth 5 stars. Instead of explaining to the customer what belongs to breakfast, they say “we put a few things on the table”. However, delicious dips are brought to the table without explanation and spare ribs and simply fried minced meat are placed on the table at 10 a.m. for "breakfast". And the warm food was delayed and without notice after 20 minutes. after having assumed several times that that was probably the offer and nothing more was coming. Delicious, nice cafe, but service was unfortunately bad, messy and even charging 15.50 euros to the children who ate a Nutella roll... sorry... but there is room for improvement.

Café with art or art with café, you don't know exactly. Beautifully thrown together, great ambience. You feel comfortable and welcome. Gladly again.

Had dinner there today, really quaint shop. Kibbeling with french fries Oberkassel, Dutch Frikandel with fries worked like that, but we would go there again!

I know Cafee Hahn from 30 years ago and of course it is no longer the same. Which in principle isn't a bad thing! I think a mix of Dutch and Arabic food is great! I ordered a vegetarian Arabic flatbread and it was very tasty! The table had been wiped beforehand, which was good, but the cleaning water smelled awful, which tells me that the cloth or water was no longer fresh and contained various bacteria. Not so nice. The day was very warm and the café was extremely busy. The staff seemed slightly irritated and tired. Which I can understand, but is not helpful... So there is room for improvement here!

Was there because of the good reviews, but can't confirm them. We ordered a Wienerschnitzel with fried potatoes. The schnitzel was tough and not quite warm, the fried potatoes were only cut into cubes and only lightly fried. The side dish without dressing. Overall a big disappointment for us. We only decided to give a review when we got home. We didn't speak to the owner or the chef on site. So there was no apology or refund. Despite such an answer, I will continue to be objective and honest in my reviews.

An original creative cafe that we really liked. We ate burgers that were served with creative salad decorations, massive Dutch fries and a delicious homemade sauce. A highlight for the eyes and stomach. There is a lot of art and knick-knacks to see in the cafe. A great place. A visit is definitely recommended.

There is only one star for the location. There were several free tables outside and all the tables had reserved signs on them. When I asked the waiter whether one of the tables was free, we were turned away extremely rudely and harshly. No table was free and neither was the table where the guests were about to pay. I suspect that they simply didn't feel like having more guests. Edit: And the prompt and insulting response only confirms me.

Been here twice at Café Hahn and left twice very satisfied. The outdoor area is great to sit with a view of old Fritzlar. Inside there is original art and lots of pictures, very cozy. The waiter was friendly and quick, even if he mixed things up, funny. The food is very good, vegetarian or not, everything tasted delicious and was beautifully prepared. A Dutch restaurant you have to visit. There are also delicious wines and cakes. You should try the currywurst!

The tapas plate was simply great

Nice place to have a drink. We had the brunch buffet. Some of the cheese was dry and didn't look good, not everything was as on the menu, for example there were no eggs at all. There wasn't a selection of sausage either. It just didn't appeal to me. Would have breakfast somewhere else next time.

Bin kein Vegetarier, hab es einfach mal ausprobiert und bin total begeistert! Super kreatives Angebot, nette Bedienung und einfach ein gemütliches Durcheinander vom Style her, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sicher wieder vorbei!

Great 🫶 Exceptional café restaurant with a very nice atmosphere. Our American breakfast was sensationally delicious. Homemade pancakes with lots of fresh fruit. (Some things are already missing from the photo😊) We would love to go there again 👍

Hessentag 24.Service quick and attentive. Fried fish in a roll was quite good, green sauce is better. It was tasty but a small portion. There were plenty of potatoes, but they were probably from the warm container and looked accordingly and had already formed a new shell. For 8.00 euros fried fish rolls and 7.00 euros green sauce it could have been a little better. There was an Aperol for a 5er. That was ok. *Addition and answer to the operator's "statement": The Internet is there to evaluate. What I say here is my impression, which I give to other people the way I felt and saw it. That's what reviews like these are for. Your statements in reviews that do not contain at least 5 stars are sometimes borderline and show what kind of person you may be. I don't know it. I'm just making use of my right to a free opinion here. Nothing more, nothing less. As a restaurateur, you should be able to take criticism, even if it's on the Internet. You have to earn 5 stars... if there are only 3, the world won't end. But such a cheeky and insulting comment from the owner (not just me) gets one star less. Absolutely choleric ... unsuitable for catering.

Dutch lifestyle in the middle of the half-timbered town of Fritzlar? Café Hahn is something of a Dutch branch: here you can actually find kibbeling, frikandels and satay skewers. And it gets even better: The café is very comfortably furnished, with sofas, art on the walls, small shelves with books, in short, like a living room. Every now and then there are also small music events. You would expect something like this in Utrecht, Arnhem or Amsterdam, where the gastronomy generally relies on such a feel-good atmosphere. We chose the satay skewers (chicken skewers in peanut sauce) and were thrilled. You can't get any better in Holland!

Absolutely terrible boss. I ordered an Aperol. Oh, no wonder it only costs 5 euros, I said, it wasn't half full, there was an ice cube floating in it and no orange slice, so he takes the glass away from me and leaves, I thought he corrected me, but he came back with the glass It was back, poured it into a water glass and said it was full. Poured it back into the original glass and left. So I'm still wondering what he was thinking. 🤷

We stopped at Cafe Hahn for lunch today. The cafe is quite nice, but that can't be said about the food. We had 1 x schnitzel with fried potatoes with salad and 1 x cheese sparrows. The schnitzel with side dish was terrible industrial product!!!!! And the cheese sparrows drowned in the cheese. Both dishes didn't taste good at all, it was just disappointing. I cannot recommend this restaurant at all. Answer to the owner's answer: If you had delivered better quality I would have written a better review, ask your waitress who we reported our complaint to, that didn't happen, so much for being a coward and ashamed of yourself.

Everything was fresh and tasty, unfortunately the service didn't understand German very well.

A very cozy café with a charming ambience and original decor. Price-performance is also good. Family friendly and child friendly. Toys for the little ones. Lots of couches and pillows. Large selection of cakes. Good filter coffee. There is also a good and varied selection of food, such as burgers, hearty pancakes, soups and Dutch fries with Hahn's sauce. Beer selection also good. Portions sufficient for hungry guests! We would love to come back here!

Colorful and rustic arrangement of seating. But that's exactly what makes it so special. Anyone can do uniformity. Staff and especially the owner were very attentive and friendly. Had coffee and a piece of homemade cake and loved both things. Will definitely visit again for dinner. Great restaurant and an asset to Fritzlar.

The owner is an absolute choleric and ZERO CRITICAL!!! It's dingy and dirty and the toilets aren't cleaned 3 times a day - what nonsense! The rest is of inferior quality and the breakfast is loveless! Point

Hello owner of the restaurant, I‘m usually not the type to write here but I will as a public favour. We were a group of friends, sitting at this restaurant The owner locked the restaurant from the inside during opening hours, and potential customers were waving at us to get the owners attention. My friend decided to (friendly) approach the owner about the waving people. The owner, in his authoritative manner, decided to bully my friend, because she dared to (friendly) approach him, after he locked us inside. His answer was inappropriate and condescending. We were confused but decided to give him some slack in case he had a bad day. So we payed and before we left, he approached my friend, and decided to remind her that he is the boss, he makes the rules and she should know better than to dare to approach him. Mind you he is a heavy built old man, bullying a small young girl. I tried to de escalate the situation with some laughter and seeing it as a misunderstanding, but then he decided to lecture me as well. We were shocked. This owner would rather bully his two female customers, than speak in a normal manner, because a question didn’t sit tight with him. I wonder if his ego was hurt, or did he really just feel misogynistic that day? Either way, he had the urge remind us who is the authority in this restaurant is. And that shows character. Upon hearing and seeing what happened, one of us decided to approach him but he shut us down and waved us out of the restaurant. The owner wouldn’t have us speaking to him, and didn’t give us a chance to say anything. So we are writing the feedback here instead. I would have preferred to speak as normal people, would he not have shut us down. However the waiter was cool, accommodating and friendly! Thanks to him for the service! Well done boss, at least we got to know who the boss is! 😉

But what you clearly notice is that he takes great pleasure in being an authority figure and I don't mean that in a positive sense! Simply very unsympathetic and I wouldn't support the store with a cent more, regardless of whether the food tastes good or not. The waiter was super nice! I hope he doesn't let the boss hang on to the poor guy so much. In addition, he is simply not capable of criticism, if you look at the bad reviews, you can see that he takes an aggressive contrarian stance instead of simply apologizing and taking things to heart from his paying customers. The boss was extremely unfriendly to us. The store was locked from the inside during opening hours. People outside were trying to get in. After they had already communicated with us through the window, we wanted to alert the service and let them know that people weren't coming in. Several tables in the café were unoccupied, so we thought it was an oversight. When we asked a friendly, well-intentioned question, the boss reacted angrily and told us that he was the boss here and he also decided when to open and when to close the door. We were a little confused, but continued to enjoy our time together. When we wanted to leave the store, the boss came back and gave us another unfriendly hint that he was the boss here. We tried to explain the situation to him again in a friendly manner. He replied that he doesn't help everyone who looks at him either. We were shocked and unfortunately couldn't understand this type. Really crazy, what a shame!

The food and drinks were good. We particularly liked the original furnishings. The landlord seems grumpy at first glance and contact, but as soon as you start talking to him he is super nice and warms you up!

I fell in love with this coffee! Everything is wonderful from the decor to the food. I had the best Glühwein in this place. I ate the best goulash of my life. It's a really incredible place to spend some time chatting, eating and listening to a selection of really good ambient music.

We just wanted to drink a kakou on New Year's Day and were fascinated by the cozy interior of the café and the special ambience. So much art on the walls, incredibly beautiful. We would have liked to have ordered something from the delicious menu or from the really delicious cakes, but unfortunately we were still so full from the hotel breakfast. The Kakou was really delicious and we will definitely stop there again at some point when we come from Hanover. Good luck for continued success.

Mal ein etwas anderes Lokal, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und wurden vernünftig bedient ohne das es aufdringlich war. Das Essen was wir bestellt haben war vollkommen in Ordnung.

Sehr empfehlenswert. Sowas von gemütlich und mit viel Liebe ausgestattetes Cafe. Hatte eine sehr schmackhafte Schokolade getrunken.

Super Atmosphäre, sehr leckeres Essen (ich hatte einen Tapas-Teller) und alle waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Nachhaltigkeit ist ihnen wichtig. Kommt auf die Liste "muss ich öfter hin".☺️

Wir haben sehr gut gefrühstückt. Das einzige was ich zu bemängeln hatte war das es sehr nach Küche riecht. Die Kleidung muss danach gewaschen werden.

Auf 2 Cappuccino über 30 Minuten gewartet. Das Lokal war aber nicht voll.🙄

Ein bisschen eng aber sonst alles gut viele Tische

Ich war zu Besuch in der „alten“ Heimat und morgens hier zum brunchen verabredet. Das Lokal hat eine interessante Inneneinrichtung, ist was Tische angeht jedoch so vollgestopft, dass es nicht nur umständlich ist zum Buffet zu kommen, sondern auch noch unmöglich das Gespräch der Menschen am Nachbartisch zu überhören weil man quasi Rücken an Rücken sitzt. Furchtbares, lautes und dadurch ungemütliches Ambiente. Der Kellner war bei vollem Lokal alleine, mit der Menge an Menschen völlig überfordert, kopflos und bei Hinweisen darauf dass er mehrere(!) Bestellungen falsch aufgenommen hat auch noch unhöflich. Ich habe statt Spiegelei Rührei, statt einem Espresso einen Latte Macchiato und statt einem Naturellen Wasser eines mit Kohlensäure bekommen. So ein Gesamtbild wie jenes das ich heute erleben musste, könnte sich ein Café bei uns in Dresden außerhalb der Touristenhölle absolut nicht erlauben und ich kann die Menge an positiven Bewertungen nicht nachempfinden. Den zweiten Stern vergebe ich für das Essen, welches trotz eines billigen Aufbackbrötchens akzeptabel war.

Ein sehr schönes und mal anderes Ambiente. Die Auswahl der Speisen ist groß und was ich bisher hier gegessen habe, hatte mir immer sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Service ist auch ausgezeichnet.

Hier ist der Gast noch König. Der Service ist aufmerksam und sehr freundlich, selbst wenn es voll ist. Auf der Speisekarte gibt es für jeden (auch Veganer und Vegetarier) eine Auswahl. Die vielen Kunstobjekte schaffen eine tolle Atmosphäre. Sollte ich wieder in der Gegend sein, werde ich hier wieder einkehren.

Sehr gemütlich mit leckerem Kuchen und auch alle anderen Angebote sahen sehr gut aus..... Würde wieder hin gehen 🙃

Falls "man" im Städtchen eine Übernachtung findet, ist das Frühstück im Café Hahn Pflicht und Genuss. Auch der Salatteller ist immer superfrisch. Meinen geliebten Bienenstich gibt es aber leider nur zu Beerdigungsfeiern - aber soweit bin ich noch nicht h.i.
