Delicious food in a family atmosphere, gladly again!

We've been there many times. The food was always very tasty and fresh, the service was super nice and the atmosphere was nice with a great view of the Weser valley. The El Castillo are definitely worth a visit! We'll definitely be back soon.

I was very pleased my steak was cooked perfectly. The side dishes were also rich and I was full.

We wanted to have coffee there after a nice walk but unfortunately there wasn't even a piece of cake there. Too bad.

Enjoy really good food here. The steak was super tender. Great tappas platter. Delicious dessert. Had a lot of fun with the waitresses.

I had the pleasure of dining at El Castillo Restaurant recently and I can safely say it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I entered the restaurant I was surrounded by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor is tasteful and the view is phenomenal with a cozy feel. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, which made the evening even more enjoyable. The menu offers an excellent selection of Spanish dishes, all freshly prepared. I chose the entrecôte with pepper sauce, and all I can say is that it was one of the best steak dishes I've ever had! The flavors were perfectly balanced and the portion was more than generous. As a starter I had bread with a very good alioli and a few tapas that were all unique - simply delicious! The wine selection was also impressive, and the waiter gave me an excellent recommendation that paired perfectly with my main course. The dessert, a crema catalana, was the crowning glory of the evening. It was light and creamy, you could definitely taste it freshly flambéed. Overall, I highly recommend El Castillo. Whether for a romantic dinner or a social evening with friends, this restaurant offers a wonderful culinary experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! --

We often go out to eat or have a drink at Vlotho Castle. The ambience with the wonderful view is simply wonderful. The service is top and the food is very good and high quality.

The atmosphere at the castle is simply beautiful. With the view over Vlotho it's great to sit outside. The interior is also beautiful. The food was more like that. Only ready meals for the tapas. Definitely too expensive for frozen goods! Most of the fish was dry and quite salty. The fish soup, however, was quite good. Atmosphere great, to have a drink, we won't go there again because of the food.

Not only completely overpriced for what is offered overall, but also completely unskilled staff. No please, no thank you, let alone hello or goodbye, which certainly won't happen. When you think of a Spanish restaurant, you really imagine something different. Not recommended! What a shame about the money wasted!

The food was very tasty and plentiful, the service was very friendly. Although the restaurant was busy, the food came quickly and our wishes were quickly fulfilled.

Fantastic view! And the chickens are awesome :D Nice staff and the food was of great quality, but there was nothing really special, the little kick for something special was missing. The vegetables were still nice and crunchy and the fries were great.

What can I say. If you like good food you have to go here...

El Castillo? Muy bien! I love Spanish cuisine - and that's why I went to Vlotho Castle with high expectations. In the middle of the ruins stands El Castillo, a Spanish restaurant - discúlpame, por favor: THE Spanish restaurant far and wide! The food really impressed me and gave me that Iberian holiday feeling. The service is great - friendly, accommodating, but also casual and personal. Just typically Spanish! Both inside and out, the restaurant blends in with the surroundings of Vlotho Castle, as if it were a ruin near Valencia or Alicante. The garden is incredibly beautiful, the interior is harmonious and very cozy. Conclusion: Always happy!

A great restaurant...first the location shines and the outdoor area...inside the great ambience continues. The service is extremely friendly and attentive. We had a warm tapas plate beforehand... super tasty, great mix. I have eaten paella, I haven't had such a balanced paella in a long time... simply top. The others were also enthusiastic about their dishes. Absolute recommendation...we'll be back.

Food was delicious, atmosphere was very nice, outside at least, inside 3 stars. It's not cheap, but that's normal now, but if the four of you paid around 200 euros and gave a 10 euro tip, it should include a schnapps on the house. This is always the case with Greeks 😉

We ate here today and were really looking forward to the fish paella and ordered it for two people. What was brought to the table was just a disgrace. A small paella pan for 2 people. A totally paper rice, like porridge. No taste and little seafood. In one word, they paid dearly, but delivered zero quality. No wonder, just 5 minutes after ordering, the paella was at the table. It couldn't have been freshly prepared. Conclusion: We will never eat here again.

Best vegan paella in the far, wide area. Also the grilled peppers and the rest. My mouth is already watering again. And super friendly, courteous service. The location is also beautiful, with the wide view into and over the country. In summary: a little more vegan selection would be nice, but already a full 5 stars.

I can only recommend. Great food, very friendly staff, nice location. We had a lovely dinner on Whit Monday. Salmon with vegetables and potatoes as well as pork medallions in pepper sauce with wine, water and beer. Thank you very much, anytime again.

My palate has never experienced anything like this!! The entrôte was incredibly tasty. The accompanying patatas were amazing, as were the vegetables. Of course we are in the slightly higher price range here. But what matters is what you get for it! Over 30 euros for the dish is an announcement. But: such a delicious meal in such a beautiful atmosphere, served by always cheerful service staff who are neither intrusive nor neglectful, THAT is worth it to me! A small point of criticism: there should be good seat cushions on the wooden benches, then it will be more comfortable to sit on and you will feel even more comfortable in this picturesque environment! We will come back, no question !!

There is nothing to add to the positive descriptions of other visitors.... The location at the top of the historic castle is unique. Ate paella one evening and loved it so much that we went back the next day and ordered tappas. Also super tasty. We'll definitely come back again!!'

We ate here on Father's Day. My partner ordered rabbit and I ordered zander. A Crema Catalana for dessert. The food was very good and the service too, so I was happy to give a 7% tip. The ambience and the wonderful view also contributed to this. We'd love to come back. Ole`

A very nice restaurant. The taste of the food was okay. Nothing outstanding. The tapas are the usual thing that you get from the Spanish in every country. Everything was average except the aioli. That was one of the best things I've eaten so far. The atmosphere in the restaurant and outside in the beer garden is really fantastic. Unfortunately it was quite cold so it would have been better to sit outside. The two of us spent almost exactly €80. That's pretty neat too. Especially since we only ordered five tapas. We always enjoy coming here. The paella is particularly recommended! But the tapas are also very tasty. Even with a full house, we never had to wait long for our food/drinks. The service is nice and friendly. There are always enough parking spaces available. The terrace and especially the view are a dream.

Spanish Kitchen. The waitresses were sometimes confused and overwhelmed, but it was probably busy and it was a nice first day. Food was ok, but I know better Spanish restaurants. Ambiance beer garden but a fantastic view.

Our reserved stay was a complete success. Reservations were made by telephone around midday for 5 people. We were quickly welcomed on site and were able to place the order fairly quickly. The surroundings of the place are unique. You have an incredibly beautiful view that makes your eyes shine even when it rains. The ruins on the site give the whole thing a very special touch. The interior design is also simply great. Very pleasant and fitting for the ruins. The service was also what individually demanded that special extra in my reviews - this is the communicative and hospitable part where I can simply perceive and see that the work here is done with passion. It was very easy to have conversations and you can also marvel at the boss's CV. Humorous and friendly, but the professionalism is not lost. Really good. The patience and calm you get when making your selection is very pleasant, you feel welcomed. Here you can also book the location for weddings etc., which in our case was also the reason for this visit. A really great person with quality up his sleeve. I can also say that about the female waitress. As for the food, we can report that it is really good food and well worth it for a nice stay with a view. Individual wishes are no problem and vegan and vegetarian are not a big challenge either. We were satisfied with our stay. In the end we ended up paying 187 euros for 5 people, 5 dishes, shared starters and individual drinks.

Ein quälend langer Anstieg war der Preis für einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im Biergarten vom El Castillo auf der Burg in Vlotho. Es wurde von vornherein gesagt das die Bestellung unseres Essens etwas länger dauert, weil eine größere Gruppe vor uns da war. Es ging trotzdem recht flott bis das Essen und Getränke serviert wurden, obendrein war es sehr lecker und bedarf einer Wiederholung. Aufmerksames und freundliches Personal sorgte für eine schnelle Abarbeitung der zu bedienenden Gäste.
