We've been here several times for dinner and are always satisfied. Very friendly service, good food at a fair price. The ambiance is quaint, and the restrooms are very clean and new (which should be mentioned). The only thing that's a little confusing is the parking situation. There are only three spaces in front of the door, but with a bit of luck, you can usually find a spot in the side streets and on the main street.

Culinarily, this restaurant clearly stands out from the crowd: The meat is tender as butter, cooked to perfection, and has that typical, slightly smoky grilled flavor you'd expect from a good Greek restaurant. The portions are generous, but not overly generous. Particularly noteworthy: The spices are harmoniously balanced – strong, but not too salty, as is unfortunately often the case. Aside from the classics, there are also lovingly prepared specialties that impress with their freshness and quality. The Patatakia are an absolute insider tip – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, done just right. The ouzo to start (or during) rounds off the experience perfectly – served with a smile and poured with a generous amount. Conclusion: Anyone who loves Greek cuisine will appreciate this restaurant – not just for the food, but for the whole experience. Unreservedly recommended!

Celebrated a birthday in the restaurant with a larger group. Very loud, service totally overwhelmed and I have rarely eaten worse than here. And that is the opinion of almost everyone in our group. There are no parking spaces here.

We ordered our take-away food there for the first time today. That was probably our mistake if you look at all the reviews. The meat was dry, all the spices were missing, even on the fries, and the salad was swimming in dressing. Never again for us.

We were in the restaurant for lunch and wanted to eat Greek. The reception was very friendly and our drink order was taken quickly. The food (partly normal menu & part lunch) was fantastic and came after about 15-20 minutes. Large portions, great taste and an extremely reasonable price, especially the lunch menu, which is available here for €7.50. Craziness! If we are in Garbsen again in the future, we will definitely eat here again. A culinary delight!

We like to visit the Lantras family in their very well-run restaurant... Our Greeks have become very dear to our hearts, the food is always great, service and drinks as well... the boys are always ready to have fun and, above all, they are very fond of children and guest-oriented with huge efforts... hopefully for many more years of hospitality

Wir waren schon öfter im Athen bis auf einmal war es immer gut. Man hätte jetzt überlegen können aufgrund des einen Males nur 4 Punkte zu geben aber davor und danach hatten wir bisher nichts zu bemängeln. Bei dem mal war es sehr voll und wir haben sehr sehr lange gewartet und als das Essen dann endlich kam waren die Pommes kalt und nicht gar. Ja es wurde getauscht aber kein Wort der Entschuldigung und auch kein Guddi deswegen. Da waren wir enttäuscht. Normal alle immer freundlich dort Essen wird fast alles vom Betreiber selbst gefertigt Pommes Produkte greifen die auf fertige Ware zurück, was legitim ist. Essen ist immer reichlich und zu fairen Preisen. Wenn es bei der einen Ausnahme bleibt werden wir auch weiterhin dort hingehen.

Very well located Greek restaurant with an attached country house. After your first visit, you won't want to eat Greek anywhere else. Absolutely family friendly - from the boss to the service staff. The food - no matter which dish - is always extremely tasty, sometimes very generous portions and (nowadays the exception) in the lower price segment. Lots of space inside - a separate smoking area and a large outdoor terrace for warmer days. My luck: it's only a street corner away.

I can't say anything about the rooms as we were only there to eat. We were there for dinner yesterday with 6 people based on a recommendation. Initially the first 2 people were not noticed or served for about 10 minutes. After you got a seat, couple number 2 arrived. When we arrived another 10 minutes later everything went very well, friendly and routine. Overall, good service!!! The atmosphere is quite cozy and also very clean. If we eat and are served so well the next time we visit, we could easily give it 5 stars. Update 02/08/25 Went there again today and last week with two other couples... From a vegetarian perspective, you can actually only create a main course based on starters. (I'm not counting salad and baked potatoes). I think it's a shame! A veggie main dish like vegetarian moussaka would be nice! But the quality of the food itself is good. When it's busy, the service can sometimes be very stressed and curt.

We had dinner here today. There is still lunch here for 7,90 euros. But we were here with the Schlemmerblock, so we got an Ouzo plate for 15.90 euros and a grill plate also for 15.90 euros. Since Schlemmerblock only paid for one meal. Tzatziki as a starter 4 euros. Very nice staff. Worth a visit even without a gourmet block. We'll definitely be back.

Breakfast included in booking. When I arrived I was informed that it wasn't worth serving as I would be there alone that weekend and the costs would be reimbursed in cash. This didn't happen on the 3rd night when I asked, where they said I would stick it through the door slot because he was too busy with the restaurant at the moment. In other words, you paid for breakfast and didn’t get any for the 3 nights you booked. That was probably the last trip here. The sink drain didn't work, the shower head was calcified, there was a bedside lamp but no socket, overall it looked pretty lived in.

Ordering food, there was also a very long wait for service, one dish was brought to the table incorrectly. But it could also have been the guest, as the order was not made using the name of the dish but by mentioning the number in the menu, so there was a communication problem, as there was quite a loud background noise. The service for "reordering" drinks was very poor. No independent asking whether something else is wanted. (This happened for the first time shortly before the restaurant closed) Glasses that had already been emptied were also ignored when the food was delivered. The food was great. Very tasty and large enough portions. One of the senior dishes ordered was almost too much, but that is certainly a matter of perception. This is a good Greek restaurant. An extensive menu with moderate prices. Also German stories. The dishes we ordered were plentiful. We even had to leave something on the plate because we couldn't make it. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. That wasn't the last time we ate there. Our friends also agree with us. This review refers to the Greek restaurant “Athen” in the Landhaus Havelse ---------------------- Last year we celebrated two birthdays with larger groups in Athens. Every time the food and service were top. Everyone liked it. The service is very friendly, attentive and quick. The food tastes as you would expect from a Greek restaurant in Germany. Delicious. (I'm actually not a fan of gyros, but I even like that here.) There is no salad buffet, the small mixed salad is brought with the meal. You get 2 ouzo on the house (1x normal ouzo and 1x special mix). You can also sit on the terrace (located on a street that is less busy in the evenings). 1 star deduction for the outdated facility. Unfortunately, this has something of 80s chic about it. The chairs are quite uncomfortable sitting there. But we are already looking forward to our next visit!

Wir werden auf jeden Fall noch mal hinfahren. Nur zu empfehlen! Ein Tipp: Es gibt wenige vegetarische Speisen... Da ich aber flexibel bin, hab ich doch Fleisch bestellt und es hat mir sehr geschmeckt.
