A truly lovely visit with delicious food and a cozy atmosphere! For starters, we had the Schmalztöpfchen (a kind of fried dumpling) and the pumpkin soup – both were incredibly delicious, and the bread was simply fantastic. For the main course, we had Wiener Schnitzel with Spätzle (spaetzle). The Spätzle were a bit different than usual, but tasted excellent. The breading of the schnitzel was perfect – crispy and flavorful. Only the veal itself was quite tough and could have been more tender for my taste. Nevertheless, our entire table was very satisfied, and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was incredibly cozy and inviting. The restaurant was busy, which further emphasized the pleasant atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

I've rarely eaten so well. The pumpkin risotto tasted amazing and was exceptionally well-crafted. Everyone else at the table was also very satisfied with their meals. The value for money is very good. We'll definitely be back.

We were a bit disappointed with our visit today. The pancake soup wasn't seasoned, so it was basically pancakes with water. The main courses were okay, but very poorly presented and definitely not worth the price. The service was okay. However, I asked a server about a baby-changing room and received a snippy "We don't have one." A real no-go these days. Please upgrade. The restrooms were dirty, the tables sticky, and the floor dusty. A real shame.

Unfortunately, it's not as good as it used to be. One of the two owners is very unfriendly and even rude. When we were there, some dishes were unavailable because there were apparently problems with the farmer. So we had to change our minds. The schnitzel didn't come with salad anymore, which used to be the case. The people at the next table ordered maybe five minutes after us, and suddenly the entire menu was available again. We felt a bit "ripped off." Vouchers are only valid during the week, not on weekends or holidays. I find that unacceptable. It's a shame, it used to be really great. Unfortunately, the food has also deteriorated in taste. From now on, no more than us!

We were very disappointed. The restaurant was only moderately busy, but the service was absolutely terrible. We had to wait a very long time for our drinks, and another drink was only served after we reminded ourselves three times that we had ordered something else. One person received the wrong meal, which they hadn't even ordered. The portions were good but not particularly flavorful. A bit bland overall. When we ordered our food, we pointed out that there was no cutlery at the table. They pointed it out again when the food was served. Only after we asked three times were we finally brought any cutlery. All in all, it was too expensive for the taste and service.

This was our first time at the old town hall in Plüderhausen. The food was fantastic, as was the ambiance. Unfortunately, service took a bit longer, and drinks were forgotten. This was certainly due to the crowds. All in all – truly excellent and highly recommended!

A proper inn serving German dishes. We had boiled beef with potatoes and horseradish and the "Swabian Lasagna," which were excellent! They also serve small portions. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the wonderful beer garden. We'd love to come back!

Seven of us were there yesterday. Everyone ate and drank something different. And everyone was very satisfied. The dessert was also delicious. We'll definitely be back. A very successful evening for me.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed today. As a guest, you don't feel welcome. Drinks didn't arrive until 45 minutes later. The bread with the sausage salad was hard (either old, thawed, or left out in the sun?). When I politely pointed this out to the owner, he responded rudely: "Can't be right." The dishes were left on the table for at least 30 minutes after the meal. A lot of flies came flying at them. Unfortunately, there was no service. It's always possible that something is wrong, but as a guest, I expect it to be handled professionally and courteously. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. What a shame about a lovely evening. We've been there several times. We won't be back anytime soon.

Delicious Swabian cuisine, beautiful beer garden

The food is super delicious, but the service is very slow and chaotic (at least today we waited over an hour for drinks). Recommended only with a lot of patience.

Simply fantastic! The Old Town Hall in Plüderhausen is our absolute favorite restaurant – we're here at least once a week. The beer garden is beautiful and a great place to linger, especially on warm days. The service is super friendly and attentive, and you always feel welcome. The food and drinks are top-notch – everything is just perfect here. A definite recommendation!

My husband and I wanted to have a spontaneous dinner at the Old Town Hall. We arrived at 8:30 p.m. The waitress immediately told us she would have to ask the manager if we could get anything hot. The kitchen closes at 9 p.m. And indeed, we didn't get anything to eat. What was annoying was that we walked past a table that had just received their ordered food. I found it impossible. I'm used to that from restaurants.

Very expensive, long wait times, overwhelmed staff (with a maximum of 35 guests in the restaurant), portion sizes could be improved, and the taste could be much improved. There were four of us. The first person had finished eating by the time the rest of us got our food. The price/performance ratio was not right: three spears of asparagus in pastry, one of which was unpeeled, for over €20. As an apology, they asked if we'd like an espresso, but it was added to the bill. We certainly won't be going there again.

Today, after a short bike ride, we spontaneously stopped by the Old Town Hall. The proprietor was very friendly, even though the place was fully booked for confirmation, communion, and baptism. Following the motto "be here, be gone," we managed to get a sunny spot before the crowds started to arrive. The roast beef with onions, veal schnitzel, fries, and salad were PERFECT! All around. Very high-quality meat. Very well prepared. Delicious. Modern presentation. I can't think of anything else to describe it. The price is perfectly reasonable. The service is very friendly.

Hey guys, that's not possible... So, May 11th, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday in wonderful sunshine... 8-9 tables free outside.. about 20 people present.. when politely asked if there was still room for 2.. it was called pazzig.. but very difficult... then we were assigned a place... at a table where a bench only had a broken wooden backrest that you couldn't sit on. So we left again... 1.0 h later all the tables were still not free... Service desert Germany...

Absolutely recommendable. Great food and superb quality. The staff is incredibly friendly and fun. The beer garden is super quaint and cozy. That's what gastronomy is all about, and we'll gladly come back. Thanks for the wonderful dining experience 👍😊

We have been to the old town hall a few times now and have always been satisfied. Yesterday, Saturday, we were there again and celebrated my mother-in-law's birthday with 13 people. Already at the reception someone thought along. We were informed that 2 tables had been reserved for us. Once in the restaurant and once in the beer garden because the weather was nice. We were able to choose the table. We thought it was great. Service was very friendly and competent the whole evening. We also had 2 small children with us who were able to use our own playground next to the beer garden. Very relaxed for the children and also the parents. Drinks and food were ordered and came quickly. Unfortunately, the kitchen included the wrong side dishes for a meal. Was complained about and exchanged. Food was delicious and very nicely prepared. The portions were also more than sufficient. The only drawback with the meal: The sauces served were all quite weak and not very seasoned. We then had a lovely evening, mother-in-law was happy and we were all more than full. Therefore, a clear recommendation from us. We'll be back!

Our third communion celebration in the Old Town Hall was – as expected – to our complete satisfaction. Particularly noteworthy is Antonio's excellent service. He and his team served and pampered us at the highest level. THANK YOU!

Our last visit to this establishment was an absolute failure. Prices have skyrocketed for a quality that is mediocre at best. The so-called Stauferhörnchen for €30 was a bad joke. The service was simply disastrous; We had to wait an eternity for someone to clear away the snack boards. What was once a favorite place has turned into a place of horror. Customer satisfaction no longer seems to play a role here. The staff seemed completely unprepared and the atmosphere was as inviting as an empty refrigerator. We can only hope that management finally wakes up and makes much-needed improvements.

I was there yesterday and wanted to eat an onion roast with fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were good. The meat was tough like the sole of a shoe. Instead of a knife, a flex would have been better

We went on a Saturday evening with a reservation. Unfortunately it was so loud that we had to shout at each other, the table was stuck and not everything that was ordered came to the table. The staff tried very hard. The meat (Wiener Schnitzel) was unfortunately tough. All in all very disappointing, the beer garden (we were there the year before) was really OK.

The main building is very attractive. The beer garden was not yet ready for the season, but that was communicated openly. The food is not outstanding for the price ratio. Children's menus not on the menu, but demand was created. The service seemed unsympathetic and a bit too casual.

Unfortunately the drinks only came after an hour. After 2 hours and after asking several times, the food was still not there. There was no apology or anything like that from the boss. It's a real shame because the food actually tastes very good.

Have eaten here twice now. Both times it wasn't super intoxicating. In terms of price I think it's too expensive and I didn't even feel full despite a large plate of schnitzel. There was no salad either, just a few fries. Looked really skinny for €20. You get more for your money somewhere else. The staff is pretty weird. Sometimes you were even shouted at if you didn't react immediately when you took an order or when food was served. So I don't have to come here anymore. The taste is delicious. A meal was also forgotten.

Absolute place to be when it comes to handmade, home-style, regional cuisine. An absolute taste experience that gives you the feeling that your Swabian great-grandmother is still in the kitchen with you. In addition, there is an attentive and never too intrusive service for guests, which also tries to implement special requests in the best possible way. Always happy!

Were there in a larger group. In addition to the fact that the service rarely came and often simply brought too much or simply forgot things that had been ordered. I thought it was pretty bold that when we paid we were told about things that no one had. Suddenly there were unpaid dishes that no one ordered. They're more common here, what else can I say? We are always very satisfied, the atmosphere is right and it is clean too. Food is really good, the kitchen knows what they're doing. The service is fast, attentive and really in a good mood - I have the impression that they like doing it, and that is reflected in everything. Often promotions, changing season tickets or, for example, schnitzel or roast roast specials tell me that the team is thinking about it, and we just think that's great. Reservations are advisable, at least call for places, there are many, but it can sometimes be full. Therefore a clear recommendation, and also because it is always consistently good.

Super delicious food! The Stauferhörnle in particular is brilliant. The variation depending on the season always makes it a taste experience. However, the prices are a bit too high.

We had dinner with 13 people last night. The food was good but so were the prices. We're happy to pay a few euros more if the food is good and you're full and it's fresh and tasty. That was it. Only the service was a complete disaster and the whole evening lost its mood. At 9:20 p.m. we wanted to order dessert. Opening hours until 10 p.m. according to Google. The operator said there was nothing left but he asked. After a good 20 minutes he came back and said if we should say it now otherwise we won't get anything more. Literally said like that. We then ordered and then he also said he wouldn't come up to us if we didn't order now. We felt a lot of pressure. He also told a customer that he was fat and that he was tall. This affected him greatly. When it came to paying (everyone separately) he said we should now come down to pay. He won't come back up to pay. His statement was too. If we don't come with you now and pay, we should just stay up here. But he doesn't come up. Brief summary: the food was good but the service was absolutely outrageous and very unruly and cheeky. I paid €63 for everything. At least you expect friendliness. We all agree. We'll never eat here again. There were other customers smoking too and they said the same thing about the operator. We absolutely do not recommend the restaurant and none of us will be coming back. Finally, the boss was sitting at the exit and we asked him to come with us for a moment. However, he seemed rather disinterested throughout the entire conversation.

The food was really delicious but the service was still poor. One waiter in particular was really rude towards us and the other guests. The sound plays the music. His manner is outrageous. That's why I don't recommend the restaurant. For the price you can get nice, friendly service and great food elsewhere.

Food was really excellent (Ochsenbäckle with homemade Spätzle and Mostsößle). The price is a little higher, but you will also find the corresponding quality on your plate 👌🏻 The seating capacity in the restaurant is rather small, so you should definitely reserve in advance. A selected roast and a daily meal are also offered every Sunday. Service was very friendly and quick. Delicious Zötler beer from the Allgäu is served.

Unfortunately the wrong dish was delivered instead of Staufen Burger (beef) I got a chicken burger despite a complaint, this burger was left here and the service was no longer a shame. Unfortunately, quality is no match for €24. For health reasons I order non-alcoholic beer because the arrogant service always confronts me with stupid sayings that these drinks are not welcome here. Something like that doesn't work at all. My family's food still tasted very good. The beer garden and benches are in need of renovation. There will be no further visits for me.

Went here for dinner with 9 people today... But honestly, we've never experienced anything like this. After about 70 minutes we asked when the food would come. We observed that people who were sitting outside and came after us got their food before us. The neighboring table, which also came after us, was served before us (some of them had ordered the same thing as us). We then got the answer: They also had an appetizer! Yes, 4 of us had one. The waiter talked at us so badly that we actually wanted to leave the restaurant. But then the food came, the spaetzle was cold, the schnitzel with fries was completely dry... We didn't have anything to drink, but we didn't ask for it. Conclusion: We can definitely not recommend this restaurant.

I've been here several times and always thought it was great. Good food, good service from the young wait staff and beautiful garden. I always felt comfortable, especially thanks to the service of the young waiters there. Last time there was an older waiter who was a bit unpleasant and arrogant. Today again. Already very snooty upon arrival. Instead of the 1/8 wine I ordered, 1/4 came and after I pointed this out, he made disparaging comments about me to the guests at the neighboring table.

Unfortunately it really wasn't good. The beer garden itself is nice - but unfortunately a bit dingy, the playground is partly broken. When it was over 30 degrees, a warm cola came. The cream in the ice cream had curdled. The meal of the day was advertised as a natural schnitzel with chanterelles and then came breaded with dry mushrooms. When asked, they just said that the waitress who said it wasn't that great... (I actually didn't really try). Of our 6 dishes, only one thought his food was good. For the price the dishes suffer absolutely disappointing

Great beer garden with very good food

It's a shame, we've only heard good things, unfortunately we can't pass them on... If you sit on the first floor you feel deserted because no one comes. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks and it is very dirty... The food came after over an hour and was burnt, partly dry and hard on the plate... I passed it on as well, unfortunately nothing came back... Unfortunately not again... In addition, everyone on the floor waited for over an hour and everyone was offered a coffee except for us in the back corner.

The food is really first class and rustically prepared! The ambience in the beer garden is okay but the maintenance of the garden could be better for such a location! What doesn't work at all is the customer service, whether from the cashier or the reception butler - both absolutely unfriendly and snooty! Absurd jokes and gestures are made about guests - that's not possible! We would come back for food at any time, but not with this staff who think they are better!

Nice beer garden and actually delicious food too. But for €18.50 a breaded schnitzel the size of a child's plate and a handful of fries just doesn't fit anymore. The portions have really shrunk and I think that unfortunately we won't be coming back. It's also a bit weird when the waitress knowingly brings the wrong drink (it was ordered slightly differently) and then asks if it's ok? Hmm, then we would have ordered something else... but since the service seemed pretty tired, we just took it and were just surprised. It's a shame! But unfortunately price and performance no longer match here...

Today we happened to end up in the Old Town Hall during a bike tour from Schwäbisch Gmünd to Schorndorf to have something to drink and eat after the first 15 kilometers. The crooked and finely restored house looked inviting, the beer garden is really cozy when the sun is shining, so we settled down. Conclusion: Excellent food at fair prices, the food is cooked really well, nice service and the whole thing in a relaxed atmosphere. There is also something on the menu for vegetarians (like me), and it's not a "substitute" but a fine dish: the spinach ravioli with salad was excellent. All in all, definitely recommended.

Unbelievable - there's really nothing more you can say about it. The onion roast that I ordered for just under 32 euros was a bitter disappointment and a shadow of what it was supposed to be. Instead of the desired cooking level of medium, I received an almost raw piece of meat that in no way justified its price. The service was also disappointing. The gentleman who served us showed no decency or politeness. A simple "thank you" or "please" seemed foreign to him, and overall he lacked any form of netiquette. I can only advise everyone not to be deceived by the inviting exterior of the beer garden. There are many other restaurants that are not only cheaper but also of far better quality. It's better to choose another restaurant and save yourself this disappointment

We were here on a Sunday lunchtime and didn't have a reservation. Despite the rain, we were quickly made comfortable outside under the roof. We sat well there and ate very well. We'd love to come back!

After the 5 of us had to wait at least 15 minutes in the garden for a place to be assigned to us and after 20 minutes still no one came, we decided that they didn't need us as guests. The service staff at the counter could see there clearly, but didn't move an inch in that direction. There would have been enough seats, but after standing in front of the beer garden for 20 minutes, we decided that a place like that probably wouldn't want any new guests, so we switched to one where the service staff was more attentive. Thanks to Meteora, also in Plüderhausen.

The food is still delicious, but the originally great side salad is only a shadow of its former self. Prices will be significantly higher in 2024, at the same level as in Stuttgart on Königstrasse. It's a shame, you'll probably think twice about stopping there when you're hungry.

Very good, tasty and fresh food with creative ideas on a good, middle-class Swabian basis. We like it every time and the menu is large enough for everyone to find what they are looking for. There is a good selection of beer and the service is always friendly and courteous. 5* for everyone, we will come back more often.

Yes, that was really exceptionally good... We were invited to celebrate a family celebration there last weekend and were well looked after from the first arrival to the packing of the leftovers - the portions were more than sufficient. The service was outstanding, the food was great and the atmosphere was great.
