Great Greek restaurant Great service We were a big family and was treated as we were in the center of Crete Thank you very much for your good food and hospitality ❤️

We wanted to eat here, and there were two families. It started with dirty plates. Half were dirty, but really dirty. The portions weren't big, but the price was. The ground beef sutzukakia were raw on the inside. We complained, but three of them had already been cut up. We ordered gyros and calamari separately. The calamari weren't good. They tasted like old grease, really disgusting. I have to admit, the fries there are good. Of course, the manager tried to please us, but the fact is, we won't go there again. It just wasn't good for us. And, as we all know, taste is subjective. Addendum: Of course, we complained about the dirty plates. They were so dirty that you couldn't eat on them. We got new ones, but they still weren't to our satisfaction. We've already complained a lot. I'm the guest, and complaining all the time kills your enthusiasm. You start to feel weird.

We ate there for the first time. The service was very friendly. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. It was good value for money. Everything was freshly prepared. We will be back.

The food is still delicious, no question. The gyro could be a bit crispier, for my taste. The menu says fries, rice, etc., but unfortunately, the rice was missing. Since it was to-go, I didn't notice until I got home. It happens sometimes. All in all, one of the best restaurants in town.

Fantastic Greek cuisine! We've rarely had such good Greek food outside of Greece! Great menu with a wide selection, a diverse range of starters, and excellent quality food. Very friendly service and owner, a cozy atmosphere, and excellent value for money. We were also warmly welcomed with our dog. Highly recommended for a stay in Metzingen!

Always delicious! Update after 4 years: The food under the new owners is just as great as it used to be. The quality and hospitality remain unchanged, only the menu is a bit more modern. We always enjoy going to the Adler.

Delicious food with well-timed, friendly service. A small stream flows between the tables, creating a pleasant ambiance. It's located on the edge of the Outlet City, so it's very close, but pleasantly quiet and not as crowded as many other restaurants. Perfect for a relaxed and good lunch. We'll be back!

From the Lüneburg Heath to rainy Metzingen, we found this lovely restaurant to make up for it. The service was very friendly and chatty, the drinks and food arrived quickly and were delicious. My partner and I went there for dinner yesterday. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who accommodated our every special request. A friendly gentleman was also with us and asked if we enjoyed our meal... it was absolutely delicious, and the calamari was even homemade, not frozen! The prices are absolutely fair for Metzingen, and the portion size is generous. We'd love to come back! Thanks for the wonderful evening.

Their lamp chops are amazing, you definitely have to try it!! Especially when you have it with the cheese sauce served with it, very good combination. The restaurant itself is situated at an old house, while there’s a big ditch in front of the house, dining outside by the water flow through the ditch is quite an experience especially during summer!

We were at the Adler restaurant in Metzingen today and had an overall successful visit. Even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, we felt at home straight away - the cozy atmosphere definitely contributes to that. We shared a starter and then ordered a small gyro and chicken souvlaki. Both main courses tasted great – juicy, well seasoned and lovingly prepared. The portions were absolutely sufficient and we were impressed by the quality of the food. The service was also consistently friendly, attentive and warm - you can tell that the work here is done with passion. Conclusion: A real insider tip for Greek cuisine in Metzingen. We'd love to come back

Wir waren im April mit der Familie im Adler essen und es hat uns richtig gut gefallen. Die Vorspeisenplatte war super – alles frisch und sehr lecker. Auch die restlichen Gerichte waren top. Die Terrasse ist schön gelegen, man sitzt dort echt angenehm. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Did they always eat there? Now there has been a change of ownership and now the food is no longer good🫣. The skewers and plates weren't really warm, the tzatziki was made with lemon and wasn't good at all. I had to let more than half of the extra portion go back. I've never had to do that before 😱🙄 we didn't even get an ouzo. The restaurant has definitely lost 5 people because we don't go there anymore. Sorry it was closed and I'm disappointed 😞

Lokal war Ok und sehr sauber. Das Essen blieb aber liegen, das Fleisch was so trocken das man es nicht essen konnte. Wenn man etwas trinken wollte war nie jemand da zum bestellen.

The Adler restaurant in Metzingen offers an excellent combination of Greek hospitality and authentic cuisine. Even with the new owner, the food is absolutely delicious. It remains our favorite Greek.

Solid Greek food. Is worth a visit.

Adults had pita gyros, kids had gyros and fries, while we shared taziki and olives. Sounds like greek cuisine, but the only thing that came close was the olives. The rest did not bring us anywhere close to Greece. For example, the pita bread was more like a thick undercooked pancake. And there were no fries in the pita. The gyros itself had no defining taste. And the taziki were dominated by dill, tricking us to believing we were having a fish dish. The place also seemed a bit dirty and had a cantina vibe from cigarettes.

Large portions, everything fresh. Sat on the terrace, best to book in advance. Friendly service. Definitely to go back.

Cozy little restaurant, the food was delicious… I went there for dinner twice in a row

Open until 11 p.m. At 7:50 p.m. it was no longer possible to order food. A pity. It wasn't a telephone order. I was there and they just said succinctly #there's no more food, I want to watch football now# . If that's more important to you, then you should a) not run a restaurant or b) communicate it in a more friendly way. However, service looks different

The owner is VERY UNFRIENDLY, and sometimes even rude. You cannot pay your bill by card, but it’s not written anywhere; only cash is accepted. We had a bill of 42.80€; we gave the owner 45, and he gave us 2€ back. Not sure it’s a math problem…

Extremely unfriendly service, no greeting, the food was thrown directly on the table without any communication. The service was very cold. It's a shame that it has to be that way. When I wanted to pay by card, the man replied “I don’t have a card, only cash”. Then the wrong change was given back - by the way, the hats were thrown on the table while they were still ice cold and the man simply ran away - without asking if everything was OK, whether the food was tasty, etc. I can understand if you don't have the right change . I can also understand if you have a bad day. By the way, it would be okay for me if I had to pay with cash - but then it should be clear - in Switzerland you can pay with card everywhere and I usually don't have cash with me, only in very rare cases. That's why I wish it was mentioned beforehand - so I can go to the bank quickly. Everything together was definitely too much. I wouldn't have to go to a restaurant to get in trouble. The whole evening was not enjoyable at all, but rather full of anger and disappointment. We're definitely never coming back. - We also gave the feedback personally to the owner, apparently no one was interested. “He's always been like that, for 36 years” - Well, good luck if he continues to treat customers like that.

Hat sehr gut geschmeckt und die Bedienung war auch sehr nett. Kurze Wartezeiten obwohl es ziemlich voll war. Würde ich auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Most of the food is really tasty and of good quality. The drinks are average. The atmosphere is more old Swabian and not Greek. What is extremely annoying and actually outrageous: you can NOT pay by card!!! In addition, it is not written on the outside. Not accepting cards is no longer appropriate.

Essen-Qualität und Personal alles ist perfekt. Alles gut eingespielt wie Barcelona.

Rund herum stimmig und sehr lecker. Portionen sind auch ausreichend und der Wirt war sehr freundlich. Dazu muss ich sagen, dass wir erst um 21:30 Uhr im Restaurant waren und trotzdem nett begrüßt wurden und leckeres frisches Essen bekommen haben. Wir waren bestimmt nicht das letzte mal dort.

Leider bei Weitem nicht mehr so gut, wie früher. Essen ist ok, aber der Service war unfreundlich und wenig kundenorientiert. Zahlung mit Karte ist zudem nicht möglich. Bargeld lacht.

Man sitzt nett am kanalisierten Bächlein. Große Portionen, gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, auch wenn das Fleischgericht geschmacklich eher durchschnittlich war. Der griechische Mokka hätte auch stärker und wärmer sein dürfen. Zusammengefasst war es in Ordnung, gerade noch 4 Sterne wegen der freundlichen und schnellen Bedienung.

Wir waren gestern Abend spontan zum Essen im adler. Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und bedient. Das Essen war sehr gut und reichlich. Voll zu empfehlen.

Bestimmt fehlt am Wochenende Personal, Personal ist gestresst, keine Zeit richtig bedienen. Auf Bestellung und Rechnung ewig warten. Fleisch bei beiden Gerichten war zu hart. Bestecke haben vergessen zu bringen.

Wir waren zu viert dort das Essen war sehr gut.Mittagstisch siehe Bild sehr gut war auch optisch sehr schön angerichtet. Der Inhaber war sehr nett. Die Einrichtung ist gut gemacht so wie eine griechische Taverne. Wir können es nur empfehlen und werden immer mal wieder hingehen.

Kleine griechisches Gastwirtschaft. Für unsere Chorgruppe wurde es im Nebenraum etwas sehr eng, aber das Essen war gut, kam schnell, pünktlich für alle. Service freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Super Gyros mit prima Beilagen, netter Service. Ich wahr rundherum sehr zufrieden!!!!!!

Erster Besuch, erster Eindruck. Ich hatte gefüllte Bifteki, diese waren sehr zart, saftig und gut gewürzt. Tzatziki war fein, cremig und gut abgeschmeckt. Salat war perfekt mariniert und liebevoll zubereitet. Bei 30 Grad im Schatten, sind wir natürlich im Freien gesessen, somit kann ich keinerlei Kommentar zu den Räumlichkeiten abgeben. Service war hervorragend, freundlich, zuvorkommend und sehr aufmerksam. Viele Helfer umsorgen einen, der eine bringt Getränke, der andere räumt heimlich die leere Gläser weg. Ich komme wieder und freue mich auf ein weiteres schmackhaftes Gericht eurer Küche.

Mit null Erwartungen sind wir da eingekehrt. Die Lage direkt am Strassenbächlein perfekt, die Bedienung mehr als freundlich. Wir assen zuerst die Apéro-Platte, Eine Augenweide, genial vielfältig, frisch und perfekt zubereitet. Auch die Gyros danach wunderbar zubereitet. Einziger negative Punkt ist die Menge auf den Tellern. Vorspeise war für 1 Person, wir zwei hatten schon danach genug. Der Hauptgang einfach riesig, kaum zu schaffen. Da ist noch Luft nach oben, besonders wenn heute in aller Munde von Food Waste gesprochen wird. Suchst du Frischküche, und authentisches grieschisches Essen, dann bist du hier richtig.

wir saßen heute draußen, mussten eine halbe stunde auf die Bestellungsaufnahme warten um zu erfahren, dass es nur Gyros oder Bauernsalat geben würde... ...dem Wirt konnten wir noch ein Schnitzel aus dem Ärmel kitzeln. nach einer weiteren halben Stunde kam das Essen, war ok, nix besonderes, wie der ganze Aufenthalt... ...hätte schöner sein können, die location ist an sich sehr nett, aber sonst lohnt es sich nicht.

Bin sehr zufrieden. Nur Krautsalat feiner hobeln. Das wäre leichter zu kauen und verdaulicher.
