Sehr nett, gutes Essen und auch noch zu später Stunde!

Bin sehr enttäuscht. Die Kellnerin hat lange gebraucht die Bestellung aufzunehmen. (Als sie endlich kam konnte sie nur Getränke aufnehmen). Das Essen konnten wir erst weitere 10 Minuten später bestellen. Erst nach 40 Minuten kam die Vorspeise, welche aber lecker war. Die Kellnerin war mal wieder nicht aufzufinden, wir mussten rein gehen um Brot nachzubestellen, welches aber gar nicht gebracht wurde. Nach insgesammt ca. 1h und 45Minuten bin ich rein gegangen, habe bezahlt und wir sind aufgestanden und gegangen ohne das Essen zu bekommen. FAZIT: Wir haben uns leider sehr geärgert, da wir zum Muttertag nett essen wollten. Bin selten so enttäuscht gewesen von einem Restaurantbesuch.

Sehr nettes Personal und lecker essen

Ambiente und Servie war top. Wir hatten von der Mittagskarte zwei mal Gyros mit Pommes, leider war das die schlechteste Gyros was ich je hatte. Pommes und Salat waren mittelmäßig. Echt schade

Das Ambiente ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und könnte schöner und ansprechender gestaltet werden. Wen das nicht stört findet hier authentische griechische Küche. Unser Essen war sehr gut und mit frischen Zutaten zubereitet. Auch die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Preis / Leistung sind absolut in Ordnung! Alles in allem ein sehr gutes Abendessen nach einem schönen Shopping Tag.

Ein Stück Griechenland im Herzen der Stadt! Wir hatten einen fantastischen Abend! Das Essen war hervorragend und schmeckt wie im Urlaub auf Kreta. Besonders der Gyros und das Moussaka waren ein Traum. Das Personal ist super freundlich – man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Zum Abschluss gab es sogar einen Ouzo aufs Haus. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Für einen Griechen muss mindestens eine Olive im Essen sein. Ich sah auf keinem der vielen Teller auch nur eine Olive.

Wir sind nach dem einkaufen daran vorbei gelaufen und entschlossen uns, dort Essen zu gehen. Das Restaurant bietet griechische Küche, was der Name erstmal nicht vermuten lässt. Die Einrichtung empfanden wir als sehr angenehm und wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Das bestellte Essen kam in einem angemessenen Zeitraum. Die Zutaten waren hochwertig (Fleisch vom regionalen Metzger) und geschmacklich war es sehr, sehr gut. Preislich war es auch absolut in Ordnung. Der Service war ebenfalls sehr gut und vor allem sehr freundlich.

Wir sind zufällig am Gasthof Adler vorbeigelaufen und dachten aufgrund des Namens zunächst, es handele sich um eine klassische deutsche Wirtschaft. Beim Blick auf die Speisekarten draußen haben wir dann entdeckt, dass es ein griechisches Restaurant ist – und uns spontan entschieden, hineinzugehen. Wir wurden wirklich positiv überrascht: Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, und das Essen war nicht nur superlecker, sondern auch in großzügigen Portionen serviert. Ein rundum gelungener Besuch – wir kommen gerne wieder!

Ein fantastisches Restaurant! Das Essen war köstlich, wir haben leckeres Pastitsio, Moussaka und Souvlaki gegessen. Die Preise waren erschwinglich, der Service sehr gut und nach dem Essen wurden wir sogar noch mit Tsipouro verwöhnt. 🥰👏

Wir waren gestern zu zweit im Restaurant Adler in Metzingen essen – und ich war schon vor einigen Jahren einmal hier. Damals war es schon sehr gut, und ich kann sagen: es ist immer noch genauso hervorragend wie früher, wenn nicht sogar besser! Der Empfang war freundlich und herzlich, wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt. Der Service war aufmerksam, aber nicht aufdringlich, und alles hat wunderbar funktioniert. Ich hatte Gyros, meine Frau Moussaka, und beide Gerichte waren einfach super lecker – frisch, gut gewürzt und mit viel Geschmack. Auch die Portionen sind großzügig, das Fleisch war zart, und die Beilagen passten perfekt dazu. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich, typisch griechisch und sehr einladend. Man merkt, dass hier mit Herz gekocht und gearbeitet wird. Insgesamt ein wirklich schöner Abend – tolles Essen, freundliche Menschen und eine entspannte Atmosphäre. Ich kann das Restaurant Adler absolut weiterempfehlen und werde beim nächsten Metzingen-Besuch auf jeden Fall wiederkommen! 🇬🇷🍷🍽️

Tolles griechisches Restaurant Toller Service Wir waren eine große Familie und wurden so behandelt, als wären wir mitten auf Kreta. Vielen Dank für das gute Essen und die Gastfreundschaft ❤️

We wanted to eat here, and there were two families. It started with dirty plates. Half were dirty, but really dirty. The portions weren't big, but the price was. The ground beef sutzukakia were raw on the inside. We complained, but three of them had already been cut up. We ordered gyros and calamari separately. The calamari weren't good. They tasted like old grease, really disgusting. I have to admit, the fries there are good. Of course, the manager tried to please us, but the fact is, we won't go there again. It just wasn't good for us. And, as we all know, taste is subjective. Addendum: Of course, we complained about the dirty plates. They were so dirty that you couldn't eat on them. We got new ones, but they still weren't to our satisfaction. We've already complained a lot. I'm the guest, and complaining all the time kills your enthusiasm. You start to feel weird.

We ate there for the first time. The service was very friendly. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. It was good value for money. Everything was freshly prepared. We will be back.

The food is still delicious, no question. The gyro could be a bit crispier, for my taste. The menu says fries, rice, etc., but unfortunately, the rice was missing. Since it was to-go, I didn't notice until I got home. It happens sometimes. All in all, one of the best restaurants in town.

Fantastic Greek cuisine! We've rarely had such good Greek food outside of Greece! Great menu with a wide selection, a diverse range of starters, and excellent quality food. Very friendly service and owner, a cozy atmosphere, and excellent value for money. We were also warmly welcomed with our dog. Highly recommended for a stay in Metzingen!

Always delicious! Update after 4 years: The food under the new owners is just as great as it used to be. The quality and hospitality remain unchanged, only the menu is a bit more modern. We always enjoy going to the Adler.

Delicious food with well-timed, friendly service. A small stream flows between the tables, creating a pleasant ambiance. It's located on the edge of the Outlet City, so it's very close, but pleasantly quiet and not as crowded as many other restaurants. Perfect for a relaxed and good lunch. We'll be back!

From the Lüneburg Heath to rainy Metzingen, we found this lovely restaurant to make up for it. The service was very friendly and chatty, the drinks and food arrived quickly and were delicious. My partner and I went there for dinner yesterday. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who accommodated our every special request. A friendly gentleman was also with us and asked if we enjoyed our meal... it was absolutely delicious, and the calamari was even homemade, not frozen! The prices are absolutely fair for Metzingen, and the portion size is generous. We'd love to come back! Thanks for the wonderful evening.

An exceptional experience at ADLER. From the moment I asked for a white wine recommendation, I was treated with genuine Greek hospitality—offered a generous tasting and guided with care. The service was warm, professional, and generous throughout. The octopus salad stood out: simple, perfectly cooked, and elevated by a high-quality olive oil with a lovely finish. Their lamp chops are amazing, you definitely have to try it!! Especially when you have it with the cheese sauce served with it, very good combination. The restaurant itself is situated at an old house, while there’s a big ditch in front of the house, dining outside by the water flow through the ditch is quite an experience especially during summer!

We were at the Adler restaurant in Metzingen today and had an overall successful visit. Even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, we felt at home straight away - the cozy atmosphere definitely contributes to that. We shared a starter and then ordered a small gyro and chicken souvlaki. Both main courses tasted great – juicy, well seasoned and lovingly prepared. The portions were absolutely sufficient and we were impressed by the quality of the food. The service was also consistently friendly, attentive and warm - you can tell that the work here is done with passion. Conclusion: A real insider tip for Greek cuisine in Metzingen. We'd love to come back

Wir waren im April mit der Familie im Adler essen und es hat uns richtig gut gefallen. Die Vorspeisenplatte war super – alles frisch und sehr lecker. Auch die restlichen Gerichte waren top. Die Terrasse ist schön gelegen, man sitzt dort echt angenehm. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Did they always eat there? Now there has been a change of ownership and now the food is no longer good🫣. The skewers and plates weren't really warm, the tzatziki was made with lemon and wasn't good at all. I had to let more than half of the extra portion go back. I've never had to do that before 😱🙄 we didn't even get an ouzo. The restaurant has definitely lost 5 people because we don't go there anymore. Sorry it was closed and I'm disappointed 😞

Lokal war Ok und sehr sauber. Das Essen blieb aber liegen, das Fleisch was so trocken das man es nicht essen konnte. Wenn man etwas trinken wollte war nie jemand da zum bestellen.

The Adler restaurant in Metzingen offers an excellent combination of Greek hospitality and authentic cuisine. Solid Greek food. Is worth a visit.

Adults had pita gyros, kids had gyros and fries, while we shared taziki and olives. Sounds like greek cuisine, but the only thing that came close was the olives. The rest did not bring us anywhere close to Greece. For example, the pita bread was more like a thick undercooked pancake. And there were no fries in the pita. The gyros itself had no defining taste. And the taziki were dominated by dill, tricking us to believing we were having a fish dish. The place also seemed a bit dirty and had a cantina vibe from cigarettes.

Large portions, everything fresh. Sat on the terrace, best to book in advance. Friendly service. Definitely to go back.

Cozy little restaurant, the food was delicious… I went there for dinner twice in a row

Open until 11 p.m. At 7:50 p.m. it was no longer possible to order food. A pity. It wasn't a telephone order. I was there and they just said succinctly #there's no more food, I want to watch football now# . If that's more important to you, then you should a) not run a restaurant or b) communicate it in a more friendly way. However, service looks different

The owner is VERY UNFRIENDLY, and sometimes even rude. You cannot pay your bill by card, but it’s not written anywhere; only cash is accepted. We had a bill of 42.80€; we gave the owner 45, and he gave us 2€ back. Not sure it’s a math problem…

Extremely unfriendly service, no greeting, the food was thrown directly on the table without any communication. The service was very cold. It's a shame that it has to be that way. When I wanted to pay by card, the man replied “I don’t have a card, only cash”. Then the wrong change was given back - by the way, the hats were thrown on the table while they were still ice cold and the man simply ran away - without asking if everything was OK, whether the food was tasty, etc. I can understand if you don't have the right change . I can also understand if you have a bad day. By the way, it would be okay for me if I had to pay with cash - but then it should be clear - in Switzerland you can pay with card everywhere and I usually don't have cash with me, only in very rare cases. That's why I wish it was mentioned beforehand - so I can go to the bank quickly. Everything together was definitely too much. I wouldn't have to go to a restaurant to get in trouble. The whole evening was not enjoyable at all, but rather full of anger and disappointment. We're definitely never coming back. - We also gave the feedback personally to the owner, apparently no one was interested. “He's always been like that, for 36 years” - Well, good luck if he continues to treat customers like that.
