Restaurant Abt & Schäferstube in Amorbach

Our visit to the Abt- und Schäferstube at the Schafhof in Amorbach was simply extraordinary. From the moment we entered the cozy restaurant, we felt welcomed. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and extremely accommodating. Our coats were immediately taken from our heads. The staff's expertise was immediately apparent; the food and drinks were wonderfully described and explained. The service was very attentive, and we were well looked after in every way! Our wine and water glasses were never empty—just as we would have wished! The culinary experience was a true explosion of flavors! Each course was a masterpiece. From the creative presentation to the perfect blend of flavors, every detail was thought out. We were particularly impressed by the attention to detail, which was palpable in every dish. There were so many different flavor components within each dish. The cooking here is done with passion, and you can taste it in every bite. What's also worth highlighting: The atmosphere in the Schäferstube was simply perfect. It's a beautiful place that beautifully showcases tradition—ideal for a special evening in charming surroundings. Kudos to the entire team! We'd love to come back and definitely recommend this restaurant. Anyone in Amorbach shouldn't miss this culinary highlight. (Even if you live a bit farther away, it's worth the drive!)

Excellent restaurant. Always a delight! ​We've been to the Abt & Schäferstube in Amorbach for the third time now, and we're always impressed! ​You can immediately tell that the food here is cooked with passion and quality. Everything we've tried so far has been simply fantastic. ​The service is always very attentive, friendly, and warm. We feel completely at home here and are already looking forward to our next visit. ​Highly recommended!

Great food in a very beautiful location! Unfortunately, it was very loud, which somewhat limited our conversation! The very friendly and warm welcome didn't end perfectly! Unfortunately, the service wasn't as attentive as it had been at the beginning! We had to wait longer for the waiters! Meanwhile, the table was already being set for breakfast the next morning! I don't need or want that for this price! The kitchen presented the dishes really beautifully, and everything was extremely delicious! But at this price, everything else should be just right, too!

In this special place, you can leave the stress of everyday life at the door and simply enjoy yourself. It's a place of arrival, where time temporarily loses its meaning. We felt incredibly comfortable in the restaurant. My vegetarian dishes were extremely delicious! The service was very warm and hospitable. Here, you can feel the passion with which everyone on the team works to give their guests unforgettable moments of enjoyment and a precious break from everyday life. Thank you all so much. It was our first time there, but not the last!

Beautiful location and excellent service and cuisine

Excellent cuisine in a beautiful hotel. Unfortunately, the service only earned one star. Please always check your bill. My partner and I each ordered a starter and a starter. My starter was billed at €38.50 instead of €18.50. My partner's was billed at the correct price. When I inquired, I was told that my starter was billed as a main course. This wasn't listed as an option on the menu, and I wasn't informed of this beforehand.

I haven't eaten this well in a long time! I actually had a reservation for 1 p.m. on a Saturday, but due to the weather, I didn't arrive until a quarter to 2 a.m. (I had called ahead). The restaurant is very remote (idyllic, of course), but numerous signs (good marketing!) point the way there. For just under €155 for two, we had the following: - 1 appetizer: tartare of sea bream, mango, and avocado cream... - 2 main courses: Barbary duck with orange sauce / milk-fed veal loin with morel cream... - 2 desserts: strawberry variations (sorbet, tartlet, etc.) - 2 glasses of exclusively bottled red wine (I think it was Pinot Noir), still water, and non-alcoholic sparkling wine with grenadine. Everything was sensational, both visually and taste-wise. I think the price is justified. All this in a lovely, rustic, cozy setting. You can practically feel the history in the rooms. After the amuse-bouche, I knew I was in the right place :) To top it all off, the chef himself came to check on everything. Otherwise, the service was impeccable and appropriate for the level of service. I highly recommend it to all gourmets out there! Overnight stays, packages, parties, etc. are also possible. That it still exists! A country guest castle a la Eichendorf. Solid, exquisite and a culinary place of desire. Book, go and relax let everything happen. Odenwald at its finest and best.
