A lovely restaurant with multiple options to enjoy a meal indoors and outdoors. Attractive and friendly service. The food is delicious and made from high quality ingredients. Unfortunately the steak was only an inch thick. It seems a bit too thin for a good steak.. :)

The food was okay, unfortunately our table wasn't clean and there was a slice of tomato in front of our table, the young waiter kept running around the tomato slice.

The other day the only vegetarian option was a salad. Unfortunately, there was no willingness to improvise, such as offering vegetables with rice or potatoes. When I asked again whether there was anything without meat, the owner suggested chicken. That's really funny, but unfortunately it was meant seriously. Not up-to-date.

Ratskeller with extended opening hours and service! Recently only closed on Mondays, coffee, cake and ice cream are now also available from the afternoon onwards. Ice cream from a local supplier and home-baked cakes of great quality round off the excellent service Many thanks to the innkeeper, who has closed a gap caused by the closure of the “Herrenwiese”.

Wind spontaneously stopped here with the motorcycle. The food was very good. And the waitress was very happy to have us motorcyclists there. I hope we get to come here again

I ordered baked potatoes with sour cream for €13.90. I got two boiled potatoes with a dried fruit side dish. The food here is not worth the money.

We were on a short trip by motorbike and chose this hotel because it was on our route. So we didn't have any special requirements because we wanted to look at the castle ruins here and continue our tour to the next destination the next day. The inn itself is an impressive old building. The booking was a bit unusual or at least different than what I'm used to. When you first called you had the feeling that you weren't wanted, there was no booking confirmation by email. I had a bad feeling and called again a day later. My booking was confirmed verbally over the phone. The room is simply furnished but you don't miss anything. I actually found it very comfortable and, above all, it was clean. I slept very well. The dining room is furnished in the style of the building. Nice large tables, including those for 2 people, so you have plenty of space to eat. The menu is small but you will find what you are looking for with the very different dishes. To speak in my particular case, I would have preferred to eat the menu once. The chef deserves praise again for this, it was so tasty and nicely prepared, that should be mentioned again. The breakfast was also very nicely prepared and everything tasted very good, but in my opinion the selection was a bit small. Another positive thing to mention is that we were allowed to put the motorcycles in the inner courtyard under a roof. There is also a beautifully decorated beer garden hidden in the inner courtyard. Unfortunately, breakfast wasn't served until quite late. 9:30 is rather unsuitable for a motorcycle tour if the tour is designed so that you want to start at 9:00. I took it for granted that breakfast would be served from 8:00 a.m. but this could have been agreed upon beforehand.

Not recommended. Staff were quite grumpy when booking over the phone. On arrival also rather annoyed. When registering, you are asked whether breakfast is included, which I, as a pilgrim in this area with poor infrastructure, of course say yes. The next morning there is no one in the house. When asked by phone, they slurred a promise to send someone. After another half hour I make some tea with a kettle I found in the dining room and set off. The front door was open... During another phone call, the boss doesn't even want to apologize because the employee was sick. Is this the famous Thuringian hospitality? Dear pilgrims, it is better to try small guesthouses in neighboring towns. Can only get better.

It's all just nonsense here, people don't understand you for 3 hours until the food arrives, so you'd better go next door to get the kebab

After a bike tour in the Harz, with the Harz narrow-gauge railway and via the optimal cycle path from Niedersachswerfen, which is not marked with gradients and crossing traffic, I found the Hof-Biergarten of the Hotel Ratskeller, embedded in the beautiful village idyll and in the town center. Pleasantly designed with great attention to detail and lots of accessories, appropriate American rock music from the 80s and, if there's too much sun, also in the shade - it's a wonderful place to sit, eat and drink and enjoy the evening! Also a good destination for bikers in the southern Harz. The food is excellent home cooking, the service is excellent and the price-performance ratio is very good! The same applies to overnight stays in the associated hotel above the Ratskeller. The rooms leave nothing to be desired, good beds, a suitable, modern bathroom with extras (hairdryer, etc.), hearty breakfast buffet in the restaurant... It is also clear from the interior of the restaurant and hotel that you are in here a real traditional site in a real traditional place - in the Ratskeller of Harztor, Neustadt district.

Very friendly and nice service. The food was very tasty 😋 and was also very tasty. The eye always eats with you. Keep it up. We would love to come back and wish you all the best.

Wedding celebration: Just perfect!!!

In the middle of the night at 2:30 a.m., the waiter heads violently at the door and wants to collect the money for the room. He wanted to close the day, we were told, and asked us several times to pay the money. Since our money and the EC card were in the car, it was done the next morning. It's just not possible to wake guests up in the middle of the night. The food and service at the hotel was very good. There was nothing wrong with the breakfast buffet.

Suitable for an overnight stay, the rooms were simple but clean. The breakfast was also ok, the rolls were unfortunately tough, but the selection was good and nicely made with fresh fruit and quark! Unfortunately, an extra €30 for a dog is completely exaggerated!

We have been there many times for the buffet dinner on Thursdays. Wow...absolutely delicious.

Ein Highlight im Ort, unbedingt einkehren 😀

Die Schnitzel waren wirklich sehr gut und schön angerichtet fürs Auge. 👍🏻 Die Soße mit den frischen Champignons war ebenfalls sehr gut. Und auch der Salat war gut zusammengestellt und sehr lecker, wobei ich hätte auf die Zwiebeln verzichten können (Geschmackssache). Der Service war freundlich. Wir konnten uns aussuchen, ob wir im Restaurant oder Biergarten sitzen wollten. (Der Besuch im Restaurant war bereits im Sommer. Aus persönlichen Gründen kommt der Beitrag hier erst jetzt.) Das Ambiente im Restaurant ist noch etwas urig. Für die Lage und Art der Gastronomie ist das völlig authentisch und in Ordnung. Der Biergarten war sehr schön zurecht gemacht und überdacht. 👍🏻 FAZIT: Kurz und knapp: Sehr gut 👍🏻 👍🏻 Wir kommen bei Gelegenheit sehr gern wieder.

haben dort mit einer Gruppe übernachtet.......mein Zimmer war Ok.....sonst war aber keiner so richtig zufrieden..... das Frühstück bot das Grundsortiment, solange man einer der Ersten war.....es hat keiner mal nachgesehen ob nachgefüllt werden muß......kein Saft, Eier, Butter....usw. Preisleistungsverhältnis läßt VIEL Luft nach oben...... muß ich nicht noch einmal hin.......

Alles Bestens. Buffets sind abwechslungsreich und schmecken ausgezeichnet. Gibt leider immer weniger von solchen Gaststätten.

Eine Nacht. Gutes Zimmer, alles sauber und neu renoviert. Frühstück sehr große Auswahl. Preis akzeptabel.

Eines der besten Schnitzel in der Region mit tollem Biergarten zum verweilen. Für Familienfeiern sehr zu empfehlen.

Immer wieder gerne. Schöne Atmosphäre, auch hinten im Biergarten. Essen ausgezeichnet. Das Büfett immer zu empfehlen. Wer hier was zu meckern hat, jammert auf hohen Niveau. Service freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Ich heute zum ersten Mal hier. Ich muss sagen es war super. Spanischer Abend mit Bufett. Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Sercive war 1A !

Es ist ein hervorragendes Hotel, das Restaurant hat tolles Essen und der Service ist spitze. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, sauber und hell. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Mega leckeres Essen. Immer frisch und mit Liebe zubereitet. Donnerstags ist Buffet- Tag sehr zu empfehlen- ob italienisch, griechisch, amerikanisch, Ossi usw...immer abwechslungsreich und reichlich. Urig gemütliche Gaststätte mit herzensguten Besitzern.

Gemütliches Restaurant mit sehr leckerem Essen und freundlichem Service. Wir hatten Schnitzel mit Spargel und Jägerschnitzel. Wir waren für 3 Nächte im Nachbargebäude Residenz Kronberg in einem Appartement.

Wir waren gestern zu einer Geburtstagsfeier im Ratskeller! Das Buffet war sehr gut! Die Lokalität ist sehr schön zurecht gemacht mit dem alten Fachwerk! Ist ein sehr gemütliches Restaurant wo man so als Fremder nicht gleich drauf kommt. Ganz klarer Geheimtipp! Danke und bis Bald!

Sehr schönes Restaurant mit ansprechenden Ambiente und liebevoller Dekorativen. Die Speisen sind immer wohlschmeckend und frisch zubereitet. Die Wirte und Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Sehr gut für Feste aller Art geeignet.

Ich bin sprachlos. :) Ob der Gastfreundlichkeit und Herzlichkeit, die ich im Ratskeller erfahren dürfte. Nichts ist zu viel, allen Wünschen wird mit viel Freundlichkeit von den Besitzern und den Mitarbeitern begegnet. Das Zimmer war groß, geräumig und sehr sauber, der Empfang sehr herzlich und das Essen hervorragend mit einem sehr guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung. :)

Tolles Lokal mit hervorragenden Service netten Personal und zentraler Lage in Neustadt/Harz direkt am Roland und neben der St.Georg Kirche.

Ein absoluter Gaumenschmaus👌hier kann man noch leckere deutsche Küche erleben, die Sülze mit Bratkartoffeln ist ein Traum. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, die Bedienung ist sehr flink, nett und umsichtig..das alles in einem sehr gemütlichen Ambiente, was will man mehr😃 auch die Preise absolut top, wir kommen wieder✌️

Seit einigen Jahren sind wir Gäste im Neustädter Ratskeller und: das Essen ist immer eine "Wucht". Qualitativ perfekt und optisch eine Augenweide. Die Fahrt von Nordhausen lohnt auf jeden Fall. Neben der Kulinarik gibt es auch immer wieder eine Extraportion Kultur. Einfach Spitze.
