Rani's Palace in Wennigsen (Deister)

Rani's Palace comes highly recommended. We went bowling there yesterday with the TSV Wennigsen second men's team, enjoyed a delicious meal, and sampled a few beers! The service was very attentive, the host was incredibly friendly, and the food was superb! I'll definitely be back! Update: After many wonderful visits, where the outstanding taste of the food was paramount, I read that the Wennigsen location will be closing at the beginning of 2026. I'm very sorry about this and wanted to sincerely thank the entire team for the many wonderful culinary experiences! It was always a highlight to eat at your restaurant!

The food is super delicious and the service incredibly friendly! The outdoor seating area, however, doesn't seem very inviting; the tables weren't wiped down, the coasters for the glasses were made of silicone and covered in drink residue, and there were small pieces of food dried on the dinner plates... that needs to be improved, then everything would be a 10/10 :-)

Hi, we ate there for the first time yesterday and we were pleasantly surprised. We were there for lunch and, due to the fact that it was Pentecost, it wasn't very busy, so we were off to try some new culinary delights! First of all, we were greeted very warmly and were given free seating. There were four adults and one toddler. Ordering drinks was therefore quite quick, and the menu arrived quite quickly as well. The menu is different, but our questions were answered in a friendly manner. They also have a fairly large selection of dishes for vegetarians and vegans, which is worth mentioning. The food itself was very tasty. When ordering, they asked for the spice level, which I think is great, since not everyone likes spicy food. We were given a pot of hot sauce, and our little one got a special dish with chicken and sauce—not the usual bland, off-the-shelf junk! The ambiance—well, what can I say? I think I can say that the Calenberger Hof wasn't just renovated without thinking, but the owner has made it quite pleasant and not too intrusive. The background music wasn't too loud, so you could have a conversation. As for children and a play area, I can't say much. If you're eating there with children, you should definitely provide some entertainment yourself; then it'll definitely be a culinary experience for everyone. The prices are impressive. Of course, you can't go there every day, but as an alternative to delivery or kebabs, it's definitely recommended.

Aaaalso...from the outside you wouldn't think that you would get such delicious food. Definitely an asset for this small place. We were there with a total of 7 eaters and everyone enjoyed it. Even the 6 year old who had butter chicken. The peace and quiet is very pleasant. The service staff was absolutely nice and helpful. The restaurant is really recommended!

Very, very tasty Indian in Wennigsen and the surrounding area! Outside Hanover the option for classic Indian food. Excellent Mango Lassi, very attentive service, plenty of space to park, S-Bahn station nearby and quiet ambience. Recommendation!

We've been going there since it opened. We've been there many times with different people and it's ALWAYS delicious!!!! For all!! There is also a lot of choice for vegetarians and vegans. The service was always very nice and courteous. Always happy 👍We can recommend it 200%!!!!!

We have been there several times and can definitely recommend it. Service was super nice, the food was first class. We love it and enjoy trying our way through the menu. Chicken vindaloo is our absolute favorite. Order there regularly too. Have never been disappointed there. It is large and nicely decorated. The food is beautifully presented and makes you even more hungry. As we all know, the eye eats with us. Definitely worth 5 stars.

Excellent, wonderful, delicious food! Is this original Indian? No idea, but super delicious! Prices for a main course are between €16 and €20. Absolutely appropriate for what is on offer. Yes, you will be full! Rice can be reordered for free. Use this! You won't be eating such delicious rice again any time soon! Service is friendly, the atmosphere is nice and the toilets are clean. Three important notes: - It takes time! Every time. It's best to bring a book or a board game with you. It takes at least 30, often 60 minutes for the meal to be ready. You're not at McDonald's. The wait is worth it! - How would you like your food? Spicy means SHARP!!!!! - The parking spaces are at the back of the yard. More than enough. Don't waste time looking for a parking space on Bahnhofstrasse.

Excellent food and service with a wonderful selection of spicy and savoury dishes .It was the 2nd anniversary and l enjoyed every moment. The staff were very friendly and pleasant and it was a great experience to be able to talk to the owner and his friendly staff. I wish you the very best and hope to visit your restaurant again. Good service, delicious food. Freshly prepared, so be patient. We felt good. Dog wasn't a problem. Admittedly, there are a few parking spaces available. But running 150 meters is still possible. Good luck

Super good Indian cuisine, great menu, something for everyone. Lots of vegetarian dishes, well seasoned and spicy if necessary. The food came quickly, the service was very friendly and attentive. I can only recommend it.

Super tasty, rarely eaten so authentically Indian! Indian chefs, first class service and a pleasant atmosphere. The butter chicken is a clear recommendation! Definitely coming back :)

We had lunch. It was very tasty, acceptable to European palates. Service was friendly and everything went very quickly.

We went to eat here based on a recommendation. We had to wait over 30 minutes for our drinks after already waiting over 15 minutes to order. But as you can see from the photos, you can't see much of the service staff (1 man for drinks and 1 woman for food). To order more drinks I had to go to the counter and wait. The portions are too small for the price (3 people/just under €100). Despite the starter and main course, my husband was hardly full. The parking situation is catastrophic for the size of the restaurant. We don't have to do it again, we'd rather go to the Indian restaurant in Hanover again.

Superleckeres Essen, toller Service, schöne Location und zudem nahe am S-Bahnhof Wennigsen gelegen. Wir waren zu dritt Mittags da und hatten verschiedene Gerichte - alle waren lecker, schön angerichtet und gut portioniert. Beim Bestellen wurde gefragt, ob wir es 'mild, mittel, scharf oder sehr scharf' haben möchten, so dass jeder nach seinem Geschmack bekommen konnte. Wir haben uns rundherum wohlgefühlt und werden bestimmt wieder hingehen!

Today I ordered Chicken Koema, unfortunately I completely missed the cashew nuts. The taste of the food was good, but unfortunately without a single nut, I don't think that's good, so I deducted a star, because after all the dish is a bit more expensive, I thought that was because of the cashew nuts and then it wasn't even one inside.

Sehr empfehlenswert, als Gruppe waren wir sehr zufrieden mit dem Essen, in dem Rani's Palace. Für jedem Geschmack, was ein Gericht dabei. Danke.

Leckeres Essen, freundlicher Service, Portionen, selbst Reis war schon sehr knapp, ich bin nicht satt geworden. Darum finde ich die Preise eine Ecke zu hoch angesiedelt.

Essen gut gewürzt und auch für ungeübte europäische Gaumen essbar. Fleisch war bei mir persönlich etwas zäh. Service freundlich und doch etwas rar. Preise fur das Essen in Ordnung, Nachspeisen zu teuer für das was man bekommt. Dennoch schmackhaft. Ambiente liebevoll und doch kann man den Vereinsheimcharakter nicht verstecken, gerade die Sanitäreinrichtungen sind in die Jahre gekommen. Allerdings makellos sauber. Fazit: Kann man mal machen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, der Service mäßig. Das Nachordern von Getränken erforderte aufwendiges Winken, um die Aufmerksamkeit der Bedienung zu erlangen. Man hatte den Eindruck, dass man an weiterem Umsatz nicht interessiert ist und hat uns als letzte Gäste um 21:45 durch Reinigungsaktionen an den Nachbartischen deutlich signalisiert, dass das Personal Feierabend machen möchte.

Next time I will ask for the hottest version of the dish I had. It was nice and tastefull, a bit more spices would make it perfect for me. You would not expect a good Indian restaurant here, but worth going there.

Essen eigentlich immer lecker. Service ist allerdings Glückssache. Manchmal ok, oft unterirdisch. Wenn (falls) man bedient wird, ist das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ok.

Die Gerichte waren alle sehr gut abgeschmeckt. Auch mit der Möglichkeit, bei jedem Gericht den Schärfegrad zu wählen, super. Freundliche, aufmerksame Bedienung.

Bei der Bestellung wird nachgefragt, wie scharf es sein soll. So können auch diejenigen genussvoll essen, die nicht so sehr an Schärfe interessiert sind. Die Tische der Veranda sind nicht alle vom Tresen einsehbar. Die in der Wand der Veranda verbauten Klingelknöpfe sind ohne Funktion. Falls die Bedienung gerade nicht da ist, wird bei Bedarf der direkte Wink zum Tresen erforderlich.

Tolles Essen und super Essen. Bei der Bestellung wir man immer nach dem Wunsch-Schärfegrad gefragt und es wir auch nach dem servieren gefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist. Sollte etwas doch zu scharf sein wird abgemildert. Empfelen kann man das Hausgemachte Mangoeis und das Lammgericht mit Spinat (Achtung auch für scharf Esser eher feurig)

Ich war mehrfach im Lokal. Es hat wieder sehr lange gedauert, etwa 1 Std. bis das Essen kam, obwohl gar nicht so viele Gäste im Lokal waren. Und das Essen - Hähnchen- war auch nicht so lecker. Beschwert bei der Bedienung, aber ohne Reaktion. Sonst war die Bedienung sehr nett. So oft werden wir wohl nicht mehr dort einkehren. Nicht wirklich zu empfehlen.
