Radisson Blu Hotel, Rostock in Rostock

We spent one night at the hotel for a conference. When we arrived in our room, we discovered a glass of milk in the refrigerator. We briefly thought it was a St. Nicholas Day joke, but there was no plate of cookies. So we informed reception, and it was immediately removed. This shouldn't happen; we're all human.

On November 22, 2025, we met friends for brunch at the KAI40 restaurant. We had table 2/1 and Sandra Schnur was our waitress. The buffet was, as always, very extensive and beautifully presented. It's a great place to combine breakfast and lunch. Dessert offered all sorts of delicious treats, and there was freshly brewed coffee from the coffee machine. My cappuccino was even served at the table! 👍 Our waitress, S. Schnur, contributed significantly to the wonderful atmosphere. We felt comfortable and had a great time. Many thanks to the entire KAI40 team.

The location was perfect for the Christmas markets. The hotel had parking right beneath although it's not for hotel residents only. We were lucky to find a parking spot. You pay about 20 to 25 euro per day for parking. Rooms were clean and nice. We slept amazingly because it was quiet and very dark. Service was fine and altogether it was a great stay. We used the sauna, steam bath etc and enjoyed it all very much. Would recommend

Stayed one night. Close to airport. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant was closed due to time we arrived but we were offered ready type meal which was completely adequate.

A good hotel with friendly service. The attached bar is recommended. The rooms are a good size, well-equipped, and have a nice bathroom. The hotel is centrally located below a shopping street. The Christmas market is just a few steps away. It's a great starting and ending point for a walking tour.

Top hotel for dogs in a 100% central location! We brought our little Fiete (dachshund). Food bowls, treats, and a blanket were waiting for us. We'd also never seen a door sign indicating that a dog was in the room before. Thank you so much! Quick note: the lobby smells wonderful... A super pleasant scent! 🤩

Great hotel: excellent rooms, top-notch service and a must-visit restaurant/bar

We stayed at this hotel for five days. It's very centrally located, and you can leave your car in the underground garage. Since you receive a guest card, you can use the tram or S-Bahn (suburban train). The junior suite was on the sixth floor, with a wonderful view of the harbor and a truly quiet room. The beds were spacious and not worn out. There were lovely armchairs that were very comfortable. The bathroom had a large shower, a sink, and a toilet—perfectly adequate for two people. The minibar was restocked daily, and on the day of arrival, we received a personal welcome gift and some sweets. The reception staff were very friendly.

The spa is top-notch, and so is the buffet... I've never seen anything better.

My wife invited me to the Scan Hotel Rostock for a few days last month. Unfortunately, our stay was quite spoiled, not to say ruined, because: 1) The constant, 24-hour background music throughout the entire hotel – even in the hallways leading to the rooms – which was impossible to escape, was unbearable. It was worse than a supermarket or department store. 2) The room lighting was more like the dim lighting of a seedy bar. The reading lamps by the bed were therefore useless, as the room remained sparsely lit. Had we known this beforehand, we would have brought some candles from home; then we would have had more light. 3) The fact that both soups were already sold out at 1 p.m. during brunch is unacceptable – regardless of the price of the brunch. 4) Fried eggs were dispensed in the morning, and you had to wait until the "egg maker" had cracked what felt like 40 eggs onto the stove before you were given two eggs, which, of course, were no longer warm by then. What a shame and so annoying—a wasted stay! Reply to the hotel's response: I think you misunderstood me regarding the background music. It's not about the type of music, but rather about no music at all, or constant music. We simply don't want to hear music played 24 hours a day; we want no music at all. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible. We think it's great that you offer Spotify; we can turn that on and off whenever we want. Unfortunately, we can't do that with the constant background music throughout the entire hotel. We travel a lot, and we've never been to a hotel where we were subjected to constant music. Just so there's no misunderstanding: We really enjoy listening to music, but we also find music-free periods in the hotel very pleasant. No offense! Perhaps you could consider music-free zones and times; we weren't the only ones in your hotel bothered by the constant music.

A truly beautiful hotel that I can highly recommend. From the very first impression, the reception staff were incredibly friendly, and the experience was wonderful from beginning to end. The rooms are absolutely lovely, with superb furnishings and impeccable maintenance. All in all, a fantastic place to stay. I can only recommend it! 🙏👌👌👌👌👌🍀❤👍

Three nights in the Hanseatic city of Rostock… From the friendly, uncomplicated welcome to the smallest detail of the room's amenities, this is an outstanding hotel where you'd happily stay longer. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff deserves special mention; they all do a truly excellent job. You feel comfortable from the very first minute. The restaurant and bars are beautifully appointed, and the food and drinks are delicious. Simply put… keep it up! Oh yes… the breakfast… also in a class of its own… all in all, excellent value for money… we'd love to come back and highly recommend this hotel!

The lovely aroma upon entering the lobby was immediately noticeable. My husband's birthday was on the day of our arrival, and there was a surprise waiting for him in our lovely room. Very thoughtful. Super breakfast and great rooms! We have stayed here at least 5 times in the last couple of years and have always been very happy with our stay.

Great location between Kröpi (the shopping mile) in the heart of Rostock and the city harbor. The service and staff deserve 6 out of 5 stars, absolutely top-notch! Everyone is always very friendly, helpful, and competent! The facilities (lobby/reception, dining room, hallways, and rooms) are very clean, stylish, and beautifully furnished. The breakfast buffet was also outstanding! There's a bit of EVERYTHING there, and there's always plenty. If you're missing something, there's really no help for you. The sauna area is also very nice, located right at the top on the 7th floor, with an outdoor area, a relaxation area, and a whisper zone. There are three saunas in total: 90°C, 60°C, and an infrared sauna. From the outdoor area, you have a beautiful view of the city center and, on the other side, the city harbor. A very nice bonus: if you forgo room cleaning during your stay, the contents of the in-room minibar are free. Absolutely perfect for a weekend! A win-win situation: you get free food and drinks while also reducing the burden on staff and the environment. All in all, this hotel is highly recommended!

Great hotel, breakfast was really good; I've never seen such a rich buffet in many hotels. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We attended this year's Leger Ball and spent a wonderful evening in an exceptional hotel. A wonderful reception area awaited us at check-in. This went smoothly and in a very short time thanks to the ample staff. Parking in the hotel's underground garage worked perfectly. We were given a standard room with a harbor view on the 5th floor (what's a premium room then?). The view is particularly impressive in the evening. I highly recommend asking about this view when booking. All I can say about the event itself is: Simply wonderful! Great music, lots of variety. Dancing from the ground floor to the 7th floor! The buffet, spread across several areas and across several floors, was simply gigantic. You can't eat and try so much. The chocolate factory... simply delicious. Celebrating, dancing all the way to the rooftops. A truly special experience. The only downside was that we unfortunately didn't win anything in the raffle. But you can't have everything.

As always, it was very well organized. Thanks to everyone involved, both in front of and behind the scenes.

As a wedding DJ, I've had the pleasure of accompanying several celebrations at the ScanHotels City Rostock and would especially recommend this venue to couples seeking a flexible, easily accessible, and modern setting for their big day. The hotel offers plenty of scope for individual design, whether for a reception, dinner, or party. The ability to use different areas for different program items is particularly noteworthy. This is precisely what makes the venue exciting, but it also requires careful planning. Especially when guests are spread across multiple rooms, a well-thought-out music and technology concept is crucial to ensure the right atmosphere everywhere. Not everyone can do that—it takes experience. For me as a DJ, the collaboration with the on-site team was consistently positive: professional, helpful, and solution-oriented. If you want to celebrate centrally in Rostock, with a clear structure and room for your own ideas, the ScanHotels City is the perfect place. I'm already looking forward to the next wedding there! We had a relatively large room, and it was very clean. Unfortunately, we were unlucky in that there was a family with children above us, who were skipping rope or playing ball.

We were in town for one night, and our children treated us to a one-night stay. We were thrilled with the modern amenities of the hotel and the rooms, as well as the central location at Kröpeliner Tor. The breakfast was excellent; we've never had so many egg variations in the morning. Contrary to expectations, I didn't sleep very well on the very hard mattress, but they say they can provide an extra bed for our next visit upon request. It was also a shame that we couldn't use the sauna despite the late checkout until 3 p.m., as the wellness area doesn't open until 4 p.m. during the summer. We received a hassle-free refund for the late checkout, as we couldn't use it. It's great how they respond to guests' requests and criticisms. We'd be happy to come back. See you soon.

Room is clean. Too bad there’s no complimentary bottled water in the room. Maybe because they provide free refreshment at the lobby (bottled water, chocolate, fruit (banana/apple). It’s available after lunch. The location is also very convenient.

Everything is beautiful about this place. The location is amazing, stores and restaurants walking distance. Rooms are clean and spacious, customer service is excellent. Roof top views are Everything. The gym is super clean and has new equipment.

A truly beautiful hotel. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was more than excellent (a very large selection). Our room was both clean and very well-equipped (simple and modern, yet also comfortable).

If you want a carefree stay, don't book at this hotel. At checkout, they say you still have to pay for the night, even though you indicate you had already done so when booking. The receptionist said that due to the takeover, all their information is incorrect and if the payment is double, they will refund it to the customer. Don't hand over your credit card, because they'll just charge all the unexplained amounts to you. After eight phone calls, four emails and two weeks later we finally got our money back. No apology or compensation for the time we spent sorting out their paperwork. Again, don't book this hotel if you want a carefree stay, because you'll have plenty of hassles after staying at this hotel.

I was upgraded to a family room, which I highly recommend. It's very spacious, beautifully furnished, and simply beautiful. The entire hotel has a truly beautiful interior. The staff is extremely friendly. This isn't something you'd expect any more!

A really cool hotel. Great location. Amazing staff. Amazing breakfast. Nothing really to deduct, but the fact that Jeeves, the autonomous room service, serves drinks that are more than 30 days out of date isn't nice. So it's always best to check quickly, and if something's wrong, follow Jeeves to reception, where they'll give you immediate replacements, even if the stock was still full of expired drinks. Nevertheless, we'll definitely be back.

This hotel in Rostock is amazing! It used to be a Radisson Blu, but now operates under the new name Scan Hotels. The rooms are spacious and have a very high standard of amenities. You absolutely have to book breakfast, because the quality and selection are unbeatable! The location is also sensational, right on the boulevard and the pedestrian zone. It's only a 3-minute walk to the city harbor. It couldn't be better. I unreservedly recommend this hotel. If you're in Rostock, this is the place to go.

Only one star since the new operator. I often travel to Rostock for business and have always stayed at the Radisson Blu Rostock. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I've also been able to take advantage of many benefits through my Rewards loyalty program. Now I wanted to book again in Rostock and was shocked to discover that it's no longer a Radisson. And what's even worse is that you can only book the rooms for two people, which makes staying there impossible for business travelers. We were also planning to hold our meeting in the fall. But that's no longer possible. I would already give this new operator only one star.

This modern hotel is beautifully located on the Rostock harbor. Its proximity to the tram makes it easily accessible by public transport. An underground parking garage is available for guests arriving by car. Guests will be greeted by friendly, highly motivated, and competent staff. The rooms are very spacious and clean and offer air conditioning, a minibar, a coffee machine, and very comfortable beds. The breakfast is very extensive and leaves nothing to be desired. The Kai40 restaurant offers a fantastic menu, including some unusual dishes. Be sure to visit and try something you wouldn't normally order. You're sure to be pleasantly surprised. The rooftop bar is worth a visit; cocktails and other drinks invite you to a relaxing evening with a fantastic view of Rostock harbor. The staff in all departments are very attentive and helpful. You can tell they enjoy working here.

High price, construction site in front. Breakfast was good, but there could be more fish options. The city tax in Rostock is also ridiculous; they even charge for the day of arrival.

It's difficult to maintain a good hotel these days. The amount of staff needed to run a hotel of this category usually means losses. Small criticism: during my visit, a Bundesliga (football) team was staying at the same time. An assistant coach wanted an espresso at breakfast, but was ignored by the waiter. On the other hand, as a guest, I also experienced the hierarchical structure of the Sunday breakfast staff. This cannot be allowed. Employees, even those in training, must not be dissed in front of guests. This can be worked on in two or three training sessions; every guest who stops coming is a loss. As I worked in the restaurant/hotel industry for a long time myself, I ask that you take this seriously, because otherwise the hotel is sensationally well run. And definitely worth a visit, even if there are no longer paper newspapers for breakfast.

A very nice, clean and modern hotel. The location is perfect for excursions as public transport is just a minute away and is included with the tourist card which you receive when you stay overnight. The pedestrian zone is also within two minutes, making it easy to leave the car in the underground garage. The hotel itself is simply perfect...modern, unusually large rooms and very comfortable beds, plus finally wardrobes where you can even store your clothes. The cleaning was perfect. We absolutely love the breakfast with its high-quality products, delicious coffee, and very friendly staff. In the evening, you can enjoy an excellent meal in the hotel restaurant and then say goodnight to the sun with a drink on the roof terrace. The lovely little touches like fresh water and small snacks in the foyer are also very nice. In short, we think it's wonderful here and wish you all the best under our own name, Scanhotel. P.S. The employees with whom we spoke about the switch from Radison to Scan (simply out of interest) are happy about the independent start to become even more regional, and so are we...Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Highly recommended hotel in the immediate vicinity of Rostock's old town. The location is perfect for both public transport and car journeys. The modern and well-maintained rooms are perfect for a relaxing stay (very comfortable beds, good soundproofing), and the lobby and bar are inviting places to relax. We received a very friendly welcome at reception and felt very comfortable throughout our entire stay!

Even though I arrived late, I was greeted with a warm welcome from the reception. Everything was clean, stylish, and perfect. I would recommend it to others.

We were at the Scan Hotel for the Hanse Sail. Wow, what a fantastic hotel! Everything was just perfect. The room was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and their every wish was fulfilled! The breakfast was exceptional, as were the dishes in the restaurant. The bar with its delicious cocktails and fantastic views of the harbor. The sun terrace, the wellness area, and the fitness room were fantastic. You feel at home here and can enjoy your vacation. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

Simply wow. The service here is very important, and we've stayed at many hotels, but the breakfast at this hotel is simply world-class. There's something for everyone, whether vegan, lactose-intolerant, or anything else. The rooms were very clean, and the view of the harbor, both day and night, is simply unbelievably beautiful. Also worth mentioning is the spacious, large parking garage. This hotel is definitely among our top 10.

You saved our vacation. After a huge disappointment in Stralsund, we received pure luxury and service at its finest. A fantastic hotel, even for people with disabilities and wheelchair users.

We were quite shocked that the "Radisson Blu" had now become the "ScanHotels City" – but after a short but wonderful stay, we're reassured. It was wonderful to see all the familiar and friendly faces again – including at Kai40! We received a fantastic room upgrade; a heartfelt thank you to the reservationist for that. We're looking forward – as always – to our next stay.

Magnificent hotel! I have been visiting the Radisson Blu Hotel Rostock for two years and have always been extremely satisfied with my stays. The staff are consistently friendly, polite, and helpful. The rooms are incredibly comfortable, cozy, and modern. Parking is easily accessible and secure. The breakfast buffet at the KAl restaurant is exceptionally rich, flavorful, and offers a satisfying, nourishing start to the day. As a Radisson Rewards member, I've also enjoyed additional thoughtful touches like warm welcome letters, room upgrades, and complimentary refreshments.

The rooms here are really nicely furnished. The shower is stocked with shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner, and the sink has soap and body milk. You can make coffee and tea in the room, and there's a small refrigerator. Unfortunately, there's no balcony, but you do get a good view. You can watch regular TV and tune into radio stations. The best part is that you can scan a QR code on the TV and play media (apps like Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, Google, and Google Photos) if you have them on your phone. You don't have to enter any data; you're connected directly and can play whatever you want. If you order something to eat or drink in your room, a robot automatically comes up in the elevator and brings it to your door. The spa and fitness area is on the 7th floor. The spa area is really nice; there are various steam baths and relaxation rooms where you can lie on a lounger and enjoy the view, and there's also a lovely roof terrace. Unfortunately, there's no pool. There's an underground parking garage, from which you can take the elevator directly to the respective floors. The lobby has a nice bar and plenty of seating. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would happily come back.

New name (Scan Hotel), at least as good as before in terms of service and food. What was particularly noticeable was that there was always plenty of staff on hand, which kept waiting times short. The room was modern and clean, and the breakfast buffet was above average for this hotel category. The rooftop bar is open until 1:00 a.m., offering great views and good drinks.

Radisson Blu standard. Very good. Many good shops nearby. I stayed there for a week; it was quiet despite the construction (see photo). The room had air conditioning, which is important for me in the summer. The mattress and bed were very comfortable, almost like home. The underground parking garage and parking spaces were spacious, even for SUVs, a rarity these days. I'm very satisfied.
