I always enjoy coming here to eat or drink. The location is simply beautiful. The food is very good and the staff is nice. It is clean and tidy and invites you to linger. Both cozy inside in winter and on the terrace in summer, although it is already full because it is directly adjacent to the beach. Definitely recommended!!!

We were at R Cafe Essen in the evening with a larger group in the run-up to Christmas. The cafe was decorated for Christmas, so it looked really cozy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Special requests are implemented by the kitchen without any problems. The food was delicious and the price-performance ratio was right. Unfortunately the parking situation is catastrophic. If the front paved parking spaces are occupied, you must park on the grass, which is impassable during long periods of rain. It's a shame, the parking lot is unlit. It wasn't a pleasant situation for me.

Everything is super tasty, but it's not possible that you have to queue for 25 minutes to get a roll. The queue at the buffet was endless and it always took more than 20 minutes to get your turn. I can't recommend this as long as it isn't changed, it's a real shame it would be so easy to stop it.

I am extremely disappointed... Last year I was here for brunch with my large family and based on the good experience I booked again this year. But unfortunately the food and the service didn't hold up. Easily half of the space has been lost. This means there are long waiting times before you can even get something to eat. The selection is a lot less and unfortunately nothing special anymore. Warm dishes (egg, bacon, sausage) were consistently cold... And really cold. Even when asked, there was no hot food. The staff is haphazard and leaves the tables untidy. Since I invited the family to this brunch this year with high expectations, I am not only disappointed but also frustrated that it wasn't a pleasant experience for everyone. Unfortunately, that was our last visit here. It's a shame because the cafe can do more... And because of the location alone, it has a bonus.

The restaurant has a great location with a nice playground and the beautiful lake. We were there for the breakfast buffet and it was very tasty. Because it has such a good reputation, there were a lot of people there and the buffet was in a small space. You had to wait in line first and it wasn't so easy to serve yourself with a child in your hand. Buffet very tasty, everything clean and well maintained in the restaurant. There was also delicious dessert and honeycomb honey. If you want to chat in a quiet atmosphere, you should choose off-peak times or a quieter corner. Otherwise it is very loud and echoes. Children's play area also available inside. Parking situation is great.

We celebrated our wedding at the R-Cafe in the summer. It was incredibly beautiful. The location with a view of the lake is great, the service is very friendly and fast. The food was very tasty. The exchange during planning was excellent and uncomplicated. We felt very well looked after. After our wedding we received a lot of positive feedback about the location from our guests. Many thanks to the R-Cafe team. And a big thank you to Anka and Ilker!!!

Wonderful Breakfast buffet during the week. We came with our two small children who loved the buffet and were entertained with the the play area. Excellent service, worth every penny!

Went to dinner at R Café as a family for a birthday. A company party was taking place next to us, with employees loudly reciting poems and holding a raffle. Atmosphere could be improved... Furthermore, our waitress in charge could speak German, but not numbers. When checking out she gave the invoice number '€155'. So we paid €155 + tip. The waitress walked away without comment. Afterwards we waved them over again because the large sum seemed strange to us. She again stated the invoice amount... '105.55€'. She put the receipt on the table, said 'I'm not lying' and the receipt showed the total of '100.55€'. We therefore wanted to have money back. The waitress put a €50 note on the table and left. No asking how much tip you wanted to give her etc. She decided herself... and just walked away.

Food was ok, great location with a view of the lake. It invites you to Take a walk🌞🍀. Cleanliness of the toilet 🚻 was unfortunately desirable 😅one employee was unfortunately very unsympathetic when dealing with an older senior couple at the neighboring table. Came across as very aggressive and loud to all restaurant goers. No matter 😐 what it was about, it could have been handled more friendly.

We've been there a few times now for breakfast on the weekend. Unfortunately the service has deteriorated significantly. Unfortunately we were only served at the beginning and then we had to order at the counter. The buffet isn't really refilled either, not even after friendly advice. Dessert was no longer available 1.5 hours before the buffet ended. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. We were actually a little disappointed.

Went there for the first time last night with 7 people! Of the 7 meals, 3 were cold and one was completely wrong. 🙈 3 were able to eat and the rest had to wait again 😡 can happen 🤷 but we would have liked an aperitif as compensation.

Great for just under €18! No prepackaged things, everything nicely presented, selection extensive. Service staff friendly and accommodating (except for the colleague behind the counter - he just looked away and avoided the guests) Great atmosphere 👍 That's how it should be, keep it up!

Very tasty dishes and very nice staff

The food only has two stars because the pizza always has too much cheese, the potato 🥔 is way too salty and isn't fresh. The currywurst is good but not wow because nothing is that fresh. It takes 1000000!!! Years until you can drink, at least that's how it is for me. Paying also takes forever. The view of the lake is nice, overall a not so good restaurant.

It is not possible to evaluate the food and ambience because the service was really subpar. The waitress “Gül” treated us disrespectfully and condescendingly, which ruined the entire atmosphere. We won't be coming back.

Have been there several times. This time for a little stopover on a bike tour. The offer is good and the prices are okay. Price/performance is right in this restaurant. Service is consistently friendly and attentive. The ambience is nice and invites you to linger. Nice destination for everyone :)

We were there on October 3rd. for the breakfast buffet there. It was completely overcrowded. The service staff (only 2) were overwhelmed. It took forever until someone came to the table to ask for drinks. And this only happened once in the morning. At the buffet there were no forks one time and no plates the next time. All juice containers were empty. Unfortunately it wasn't a relaxing visit for us and it wasn't worth the money.

It was our first time there and we felt welcome from the first minute. The waiter was so attentive and extremely friendly, it was a pleasure to watch him work and an incredible feeling of being important as a guest. Great, keep it up. You're great

Been to R-Cafe several times this summer, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food has always been good. Unfortunately, I noticed several times that people were only served at the beginning. You were never asked whether it tasted good or whether you would like to order something else, even if you had been sitting in front of empty glasses for a long time. Plates weren't cleared either. This wasn't the case with the breakfast buffet either, and so the plates piled up at some point. You could only rarely order more hot drinks because you didn't see a waiter. There is therefore a lot of catching up to do with various waiters in terms of service.

Excellent location for events! The service was very attentive, warm and quick. The food and vegetarian options are also memorable.

Had breakfast a few days ago and unfortunately was disappointed here for the first time as meatballs, fried eggs and several things that were normally supposed to be hot were cold. Despite mentioning to the service staff that they supposedly ordered new, hot fried eggs from the kitchen, unfortunately they were not warmer. It's actually a shame, because so far I think it's been unbeatable in terms of price-performance ratio.

We were there for breakfast today. It was very crowded and unfortunately also very loud. You could hardly have a proper conversation. The buffet was extensive and the food offered was good. Unfortunately, the service staff could hardly keep up with the rush and you sometimes had to wait a long time for your drinks. The same problem existed with the breakfast buffet; it sometimes took too long to be properly refilled. Overall it was ok and we will definitely come back again.

Basically a nice place with a beautiful lake. The food was delicious, the drinks were good. The service (in this case Gül) was absolutely unfriendly even when serving. When we paid and wanted to leave, I was verbally and loudly attacked because I didn't open my empty cigarette box should be left on the table but should be thrown in the trash can. My answer that I'm a non-smoker was answered by her with the same sentence. I myself also come from the catering industry and everyone can have a bad day, but if you clear away a few plates and glasses and If you then collapse because of an empty butt box, you should think again about your career choice.

The food was hot, the schnitzel (2 pieces) was crispy. The fries were good. The price quoted is absolutely ok. The service is ok. The ambience is not my thing, the food selection is simple. Went there for breakfast today. The selection is good, and there are certainly things that could be improved in the way the tables are set up in the cutlery area. You have to push past each other there. Very awkward with plates.

During the week there is a rich breakfast buffet, unfortunately only coffee is included, tea or coffee specialties are not included. The buffet is extensive, with a good vegan selection of vegetables and fruit. But there is no milk alternative. Food is top. In summer you can sit outside if you don't have a problem with lots of bathers walking around everywhere. Something for everyone, great salads, pizza, fries, burgers, schnitzels and much more ☺️

Today I was able to attend a celebration in the R-Café as a wedding service provider. Here you can immediately tell that everyone in the team is full of passion and enjoys working here. Everyone is in a good mood and always has a quick saying at the ready, which creates the whole atmosphere. I can also clearly say high praise to the kitchen here. An incredible selection that you don't always find at weddings in this region and delicious too. Everything is of course rounded off by the beautiful location on Lake Lohner, which makes a wedding something very special. Clear recommendation, we will definitely see each other again.

We celebrated our wedding here with 90 people and were very satisfied all around! It couldn't have been better, the service was top notch, a well-rehearsed team of waiters who were very attentive and quick, the food was very, very good and we even got the leftovers! Our children enjoyed the chicken wings with fries and a small apple spritzer. The portions were generous and the fries were nice and crispy. The price-performance ratio was perfectly fine. For the quality and quantity of food we received, we felt the prices were fair and reasonable. Attended the Saturday breakfast buffet today. First of all: The service was super nice and attentive. There would be 5 stars plus for that. The volume, which is often complained about, was really annoying. It was no longer possible to have a conversation with the second seat neighbor on the left/right or diagonally opposite. Separating the whole thing a bit would definitely help. The range of hot drinks was very good. What I unfortunately found far too ordinary, given the price, was the food. The mousse on the dessert table, for example, tasted original, like this powder that you stir into milk. Bread rolls were not bakery goods. Juices were not high quality. Overall, I've had better breakfasts in average hotels. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. There is absolutely an understanding of the increased prices and the lack of staff. But a little heart when preparing the food would be great. If you already have ready-made products, please try them out first and, if necessary, look for an alternative. It was clean - including the toilets.

Can not judge the food served as we went only for some drinks on the lake. However, a very nice place.

We attended a wedding there and had a very nice time. However, there were mentions of disagreements between the bride and groom and the staff. Agreements that had previously been made with some of the staff were later declared void, this led to a lot of stress and the evening ended with a lot of stress for the witnesses. Maybe it was just an isolated case, otherwise better coordination within the staff would be very desirable. Overall, the staff were very professional and knew how to serve the company well, and the food was also very tasty. Unfortunately, the vegans in the company had to order from the menu, but they really enjoyed it.

Very relaxed location. Very friendly service. Apparently my visit was not at rush hour. It was very quiet and had plenty of choice of places. The pizza we ordered was excellent. However, when it comes to salad, more freshness is desirable, as there are lots of brown, unappetizing spots.

Im Großen und Ganzen waren wir zufrieden. Allerdings war die Tischzuweisung nach Reservierung ein Witz! 2 Personen direkt neben der lauten Kinderspielecke! Auf Frage nach einem anderen Tisch, gab die Servicekraft als Antwort, alle reserviert. Hallo! Wir hatten auch reserviert 🤦🏻‍♀️man hätte ja nur mit einem anderen 2er Tisch die Reservierung tauschen können. Als wir gingen waren noch einige Tische frei. Muss man nicht verstehen. Wir hatten dann letztendlich einen Tisch, der nicht unserem Reservierungswunsch entsprach. Schade! An dem Tag war es im Restaurant sehr kinderlastig und laut. Ansonsten gerne wieder!
