R-Cafe Hamm in Hamm

A thoroughly successful first visit! It was our first time at this restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Sitting outside in the beautiful weather, enjoying the delicious food, and being looked after by the extremely friendly service – simply wonderful! We will definitely be back.

This was our first time here. We had reserved a table for the breakfast buffet via email. The staff was friendly. However, I thought our table was a bit of a disgrace. At first, I thought it was a children's table. It was the smallest table in the entire restaurant, covered in menus and various drink lists. On top of that, it hadn't been cleaned properly beforehand. It was impossible to have a relaxed breakfast here, as you constantly had to be careful not to drop anything or tip anything over. For €40, I imagine it would be cozy.

The ambiance isn't my thing. Too sterile and too much concrete. The terrace is nice, but lacks greenery and is therefore very warm. Only sealed surfaces are outdated and don't provide any cooling in high temperatures.

The breakfast buffet had a wide selection, and the service was very friendly. I felt very comfortable there. I'd be happy to come back.

Almost 9 euros for a potato with sour cream... unbelievable, that's a rip-off. Since I didn't want to turn down my 86-year-old mother, we ordered the expensive one and what can I say, the potato didn't look particularly appetizing, quality is very low here... whatever, 9 euros for a potato, that price is absolutely not appropriate 👎👎👎

Great place! We were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful it turned out.👍🏻 The outdoor area is really large with a view of the canal. It's always very busy, but not too loud. The staff is really prompt and always very friendly. The drinks arrive at the table really quickly👍🏻 The menu, like the local R-Café in Arnsberg, is very clear and not too packed, which we really like. The food was delicious, and it was even just the right size for a snack😎 My wife had an ice cream sorbet, and I ordered the chili cheese fries with jalapeno topping, simply delicious 🤤 👌🏻. The prices were reasonable for the portions. We stopped by again a weekend later, this time trying the "house bread" with two dips and olives. Also a delicious snack that's great to share.👍🏻 We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience with my 9-year-old daughter. One employee with pink hair (Sarah), who has apparently attracted negative attention here several times, particularly stood out for her rude and aggressive behavior. Due to technical problems, the debit machine had to be restarted several times. On the second attempt, the amount was debited from my account but not registered in the café. Even though I showed the receipt, I was pressured to pay again. I was promised a refund within 24-48 hours – with no guarantee. When I refused to pay twice, the waitress loudly accused me in front of my daughter, who cried. Eventually, she even called the police. Right from the start, she greeted us with a sharp tone and without a greeting. After this experience, we will definitely avoid this café.

The food is good and varied, even for vegetarians, and the staff is very friendly. The seating is lovely and light-filled by the canal. We always enjoy coming back.

I can recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy good food in a quiet location. The service is also top-notch.

You can sit outside, but the quality is better than fast food. The food was lukewarm, and the strawberry sundae for 9.95 arrived at the table almost melted, and after searching for it, I found a strawberry in the ice cream. Apparently, the food sits too long before it's brought out. I had breakfast there today, too. The selection was good, but when I wanted more scrambled eggs, it was empty. I didn't want to wait until they refilled them, which was a shame. But the staff were very friendly in the morning and evening. I would go back for a drink, but I'd rather go to a restaurant for food.

Delicious buffet breakfast on Sunday morning with one hot drink, but you have to reserve in advance, otherwise everything will probably be booked.

Ambience is good, the staff was very unfriendly, they didn't ask you if you needed something to drink, The food was terrible, the pizza was stone hard and inedible, no taste from my companion, the fries were very dark, we had them returned but the new ones were no better, no taste, no salt, just left there carelessly. We tried the breakfast buffet on a Sunday. It was completely booked. At the buffet, guests lined up outside on the enclosed terrace. Rolls were not available for a long time. Everything that was empty, such as cold cuts, cheese, salmon, mini wraps, dips, antipasti, scrambled eggs, etc., was replenished extremely slowly or not at all. It's a shame because the taste and selection were very good. When we were greeted, the service was still very good...after that, the employees were unfortunately overwhelmed due to a lack of sufficient staff. What will it be like when, when the weather is good, guests also come outside? Otherwise, the location is very well located with a beautiful view of the canal. Since we wanted to give it another chance, we went there again today for the buffet. There is now only one juice per person served at the table, the rolls and croissants were consistently very hard... desserts. Sold out very quickly. Antipasti was no longer offered. And as the icing on the cake, an employee was allowed to scrub duck...a away between the guests with a bucket and scrubber. Comfortable looks different. All that's missing is a vacuum cleaner between the legs. Does this type of work need to be done during peak hours?

Always been satisfied so far. Until yesterday. Reserved a table for 10 people via email, which is completely wrong. Always worked wonderfully over the phone. Got there yesterday. No table reserved for us. Luckily I still had emails and provided proof. Nothing could be done. So every 10 people changed the breakfast location. Unfortunately, that's not how you keep customers.

I can no longer recommend the R Café in Hamm, they have actually been regular customers for years. I wanted to celebrate my birthday on Sunday with 10 people and I pre-ordered a table for breakfast by email a month ago and received confirmation by email that the table was reserved. There were no reservations when we were there. So we made sure we got something else.

We have been here several times because we are invited here by friends. Just like yesterday, Sunday. My best friend reserved a table for 10 people here for brunch a month ago. When we arrived yesterday there was panic: Unfortunately the booking process had been changed. Unfortunately we don't have a reservation here in our system. But we could perhaps sit in the winter garden. Then the service person called the boss, who then said: No, we could just put a few tables together outside. We were surprised: there was a large table for 10 people available in the winter garden - with a RESERVED sign on it.... But there was no sign of them anywhere. Even after several attempts, there was suddenly no room for us. But: we weren't the only ones who left yesterday without having accomplished anything because the reservation didn't work. We made a quick phone call yesterday and were able to celebrate our birthday very well (I like to say: much better with much better service and a much larger selection) at Café del Sol. Even though it was very short notice, the staff was so quick that everything was already changed and prepared while we were moving. Dear R-Café team: This is how service works. The highlight came later via email from the operations manager of the R-Café: an apology for making a mistake with the reservation. We would get our first drink order free on our next visit. When would we like to come back? Dear Mr. Operations Manager: Unfortunately, the 10 of us and our friends and acquaintances will certainly not be visiting the R-Café any time soon.

Service could be a little faster, but no reason to complain. Great selection of dishes, all of which were very tasty. Nice view there and plenty of free parking spaces nearby. It was my/our third visit and certainly not the last.

Were here for Easter brunch. Great buffet, friendly staff and the buffet was always freshly refilled. Gladly again

I can recommend this place, very nice location by the water and parking is available. There is a great menu and lots of drink options, I chose the housemade spritzer, very tasty.😋 I didn't like the ambience that much, but I think Neheim and Letmathe did a better job. The service was okay and the food was tasty. The selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes is good.

Nicely located on the canal, nice building, nice restaurant, good service! There are few parking spaces, it's better to get there on foot or by bike. It's also easy to reach from the city center with a short walk.

Old recession: Location is simply great, service was very good, and drinks were smart. My only complaint is the service. Been there 2 days in a row because I wanted to give the cellar(s) another chance on the 2nd day. Food always came after 45/50 minutes, regardless of whether it was salad or just chicken breast strips. It wasn't cleared away and the reorder of our drinks only came after 25/30 minutes. Despite this, the waiter made an effort and was friendly, but I think that more staff outside or better training would be necessary. The negative service is unfortunately very inappropriate as it is really very cozy there and the view is beautiful, especially in summer…

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant. The service was a complete disappointment. A waitress named Sarah with purple hair stood out in a particularly negative way - incredibly unfriendly and disrespectful. She not only treated us badly but also other guests around us. Instead of being polite and professional, she was rude and rude. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in the catering industry. Very disappointing, I definitely won't be back!

Cocoa was very watery and took a very long time

The cocktails and the ambience in the evening are great 😉 The snacks are also good. Unfortunately, the price is normal these days but still within reasonable limits. I found the service to be better in the evening than during the day. You can have brunch there. The location is good and you can therefore enjoy spending time there.

The food was always delicious and the service was good and quick, and the atmosphere invites you to stay longer. We have always been satisfied so far and would love to come back.

The ambience is really appealing, the choice of seating is ok, but it's good if you make a reservation, especially on the weekends for breakfast. When we were there the place was fully booked. As in any restaurant, the background noise is high, but I have to say that I noticed it less intensely inside than outside. The outdoor area is equipped with heaters in winter, but they switch off after a while. So if you don't want to freeze, you're forced to turn the heater back on yourself. Now about the food: We were aware that it would be crowded on a weekend. But we were assured that we could also order a la carte. That worked, but it takes a while until you actually have your food in front of you. The scrambled eggs were good and sufficient. Unfortunately the strawberry crumble was nothing. Both in terms of taste and consistency. However, it is positive to mention that intolerances can be addressed and the staff can provide advice. I really appreciate the transparency and that definitely gets a thumbs up. Conclusion: The food was ok, the location is good (although the parking situation is semi-optimal). Would probably go there again to try something from the main course menu. One more small note: Simply add to the menu when which dishes will be available. Unfortunately we couldn't see that and the initial order had to be changed because, for example, the bowls can only be ordered from midday.

Super für einen Zwischenstopp beim Sonntagsspaziergang. Waffeln und Kuchen, sowie Cappuccino und Latte Macchiato waren sehr lecker und alles, was im mich herum serviert wurde sah ebenso gut aus. Es war am Sonntag Nachmittag sehr gut besucht. Mit einer größeren Gruppe würde ich definitiv eine Reservierung empfehlen. Das Personal war super freundlich.

The best is the "dealtime" with chicken breast strips. 👍 However, some dishes, like the tortellini, are only okay. The drinks are relatively expensive, but the homemade ones, in particular, are definitely worth it.

Super juicy burgers, fresh salad, and incredibly delicious sweet potato fries. The only place downtown that serves authentic mulled wine with spices and little sugar. We'd love to come back!

Very nice restaurant in the best location on the canal in Hamm! We ordered the following food and drinks on site: - Pizza Margherita Insalata - Pollo Fajita Pizza - Kaiserschmarn - Cocktails (Long Island, Blue Island, Zombie, Blink Blink) For a “not” Italian it was really a very, very good pizza that is definitely better than many other restaurants. The Kaiserschmarn was served with vanilla sauce and ice cream and garnished with powdered sugar. All dishes came in a timely manner and the service was very good and friendly! Definitely worth recommending and we will come back. Price & performance definitely match. For two main courses, four cocktails and a shared dessert, we paid €68 for two people without a tip.

I like to have breakfast there. Think there is something for everyone. The location is good on the canal, I find it cozy.

The “R Café” in Hamm impresses at first glance with its stylish and cozy atmosphere. The outdoor area invites you to linger and the furnishings look modern and inviting. However, there were a few points during our visit that weren't entirely convincing. Unfortunately, the chilli cheese fries were far too salty and the sauce that came with them was cold. Our cocktail also wasn't convincing in terms of taste: it was bland and not very balanced, so we couldn't really enjoy it. The menu offers a decent selection, but the quality of the dishes could definitely be improved. Overall, the “R Café” still lacks fine-tuning of the food and drinks to offer an all-round positive experience. However, the location is great, especially in summer.
