So we like to eat here as such. It tastes quite good. It feels a bit more expensive, but the quality is consistent. The waitresses often seem to be overwhelmed and therefore get annoyed from time to time. Nevertheless, we like to go there and yes, it's complaining on a high level.

Very nice, cozy atmosphere. Really makes you feel good. The service took quite a long time, even though there wasn't that much going on. Unfortunately, the empty glasses all remained there until the end and we had to get a waitress to pay because there was no response to hand signals. The drinks were very tasty, the soup I had was unfortunately only lukewarm and very little for 7€.. still beautifully prepared and it tasted very good. All in all I would go again.

Went there for brunch on Sunday. But allowing so many people into such a small brunch buffet is simply not possible! Sometimes you had to wait 15 minutes to get rolls and cold cuts and I don't see that if you want to have a relaxed breakfast! Then I did NOT eat breakfast. So extremely overcrowded! The service was friendly and the coffee with milk was tasty, that was the only highlight.

The food was partly very tasty (burgers, fries, bowls) and partly "just OK" (crumble didn't taste good and Kaiserschmarrn wasn't as fluffy as homemade). So nothing outstanding but not a catastrophe. I've been there several times and have to say that the service really depends on who you get there. On the last visit it was very good, a nice young waiter who took the order in a friendly and quick manner. Even though it was busy, the orders were processed correctly and quite quickly. And that even though we were sitting in the farthest corner and the waiters kept getting stopped on their way to us. However, we have had other days where someone came to take the order after almost an hour and then seemed annoyed. The order then took ages and we weren't allowed to eat outside at the play ship (despite the good weather). Yes, it can happen that you are understaffed and that you are annoyed by it. And it is understandable that one or two areas are therefore closed. But overall I thought the service was bad that day. Therefore, I cannot give 5 stars, which the service on October 19, 2024 would have definitely deserved. The ambience varies from corner to corner, with comfortable armchairs and a large television in the front. Then the counter with bar stools, further in the middle the tables which are more functional. Then the family area with larger tables and a children's play area (where it often gets loud). And then outside/semi-outside with a view of the water, cozy benches with furs on them and heaters and fire bowls (in glass so there is no danger). There is also a great play area at the back with a climbing ship and swings.

I've been trying to give the R-Café a chance for years. After my last visit yesterday I will definitely not be coming back. We wanted to go to the R-Café for a cold drink and some chips and were once again disappointed. We waited 45 minutes for the drinks and an hour for the fries. It doesn't work at all. The fries were only kept warm by the bowl in which they were served. The café wasn't full/crowded for a Friday lunchtime and there seemed to be enough staff there, because we always saw changing faces whenever a service person was on the move. Nobody knows why it still doesn't work. Our neighboring tables also complained about long waiting times and that they were not served/were turned away by the service staff. It's a shame, because the ambience is actually great and the food and drinks are great too.

I would like to share my experience in this company. Unfortunately, the working environment is strongly influenced by the constant stressful situation, which is mainly caused by the presence of the boss. Every time he's in the office, you immediately notice that the atmosphere is tense. This has a negative impact on team dynamics and overall motivation. Another point that often causes confusion is the boss's appearance. It would be desirable if he dressed more professionally as it would not only give a better image of the company but could also motivate the team. Overall, I find the working conditions challenging and I am unsure whether I would recommend this company to others. It would be helpful if communication and leadership style were worked on to create a more pleasant work environment.

Beautiful breakfast every time.

Chic bistro/bar/restaurant. Located just outside the town, directly on the Ruhr cycle path, with a large parking lot. There is food for all tastes in good gastro quality, prices are reasonable. The shop is busy in the evenings, but is also suitable for an afternoon café.

We went there on a weekend for breakfast before going shopping. First of all: the buffet was great! There's nothing to complain about - except that an analogue Nutella jar is certainly the better solution for serving so many people. From the menu selection you get everything you expect and are used to at a brunch like this. Keyword "lots of people": If you like to have breakfast in a train station... here you go! When every table is occupied, there is a level of noise that no longer has much ambience. You stand in a long line... sometimes next to tables where people want to have breakfast and chat. Not nice. Accordingly, the service team was running at full speed. And seemed more rushed than inviting. It's not the store's fault that so many people come - you might think - but that's how it is! After all, it is designed to be so large, is filled with many tables and every table is occupied... Speaking of the table: there were 3 of us sitting at a very, very small table - yes, the plates and cups we needed fit on it, but it wasn't nice. To get the space you need, you first have to put away all the card stuff. Eating with your elbows on your body, you listen to the noise of the station hall, the conversation at the table next door or even speak very loudly yourself. Dumb. Maybe we would try again during the week...? 🤔

Super nice location... perfectly located for going for a walk. But above all....super great shop....nice and courteous staff.... delicious food with a large selection and great breakfast. Dogs are also allowed in. Highly recommended.... like to go there 👍

Great class there. Totally nice service there! Since I couldn't buy cigarettes, the super nice waitress helped me out with her cigarettes!! The crust was super good too!

Cozy-chic atmosphere. Extensive menu and delicious food. The dishes arrive hot and are freshly prepared. The service is very friendly and attentive. There is a large parking area, but it is still quite difficult to get a parking space on the weekends. There are parking spaces for guests with children and strollers.

Hey guys, I was in the café today with my wife from Berlin and a friend from Neheim. I was very surprised by the atmosphere. The service is great and very friendly and attentive. The food was great and tasted good. Easy to reach and plenty of parking spaces. It was a nice experience and we were very excited. Thanks for the service. The play area was unsightly and dirty. I don't think it's ok if something like that is offered and the children are immediately dirty. The staff was also very unfriendly, we don't know that from r cafes...

Disastrous service! The fully tattooed black-haired lady behaved incredibly dominant, unsympathetic and acted as if she owned the shop! Waited forever for drinks, food and payment. The food was of the typical Extrablatt standard. Nothing special. We liked the location and music the most. Nevertheless: never again!

Coffee and sandwiches overpriced.

I didn't really like it this time, unfortunately the table was full of crumbs and the service could have been friendlier. There was a lot of smoking at all the tables... Maybe next time we'll stay inside despite the nice weather because there's no smoking.

The service was very nice and the food also tasted good. You didn't have to wait long for the drinks, but I won't be ordering cocktails or a mojito there anymore: ordered a mojito, got a caipirinha, complained, got the same caipirinha with a mint leaf, complained again, got a caipirinha. So either the bartender didn't know the difference or they just didn't want to mix a new cocktail.

Waited over 45 minutes for drinks until we had to get up ourselves and draw our attention. Food came after 1.30 hours. The staff was totally annoyed and extremely unfriendly...

The ambience is simply great and the service was nice. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that convincing.

Most of the staff is just plain unfriendly. Right at the beginning you wait in vain for a condition so that you can order something to drink and then when you immediately want to order something to eat so that you don't have to wait so long again, you are told in a condescending tone "Everything one by one" and You wait in vain again for service and the drinks you have long ordered. After you finally order the food, you have to ask about the food several times, which is probably noticeable on a relatively uncrowded Saturday evening. Unfortunately the RCafe has gone down a lot...Sad.

It's nice here, but the range of vegan dishes is minimal. The vegan burger was hard because it was fried for too long and is it really asking too much to offer vegan mayonnaise with the fries? It's a shame, so no further visit is interesting for me.

A lot went really wrong. Some of the drinks were prepared incorrectly. The wrong food was brought. The correction was supposed to take 2 minutes, but it ended up taking 15 minutes. When it came to the bill at the end, the (more expensive) incorrectly prepared dishes were on the bill instead of what was actually ordered. The correction took forever. In general the store was so overwhelmed that nothing was really pleasant and you had to wait forever.

Very bad, smokers and non-smokers and children play corner together. Not again

The service was a disaster. Not only were the wrong drinks and food brought several times, there wasn't even an apology. The wait times were terribly long and the food didn't come together. I also don't think it's okay to smoke in the area around the playground. This is not up to date. When broken pieces were pointed out, during our time there (excessively long due to extremely long waiting times), no one cleaned them up (as a reminder: there were small children running around everywhere). The food itself was good. There's nothing you can say.

If you're coming here, definitely don't come hungry. Eat as much as you can at home, then place your order. You'll be hungry again by the time your food arrives anyway.

We have been to the R Cafe from time to time over the years. The location on the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path is good, the food is delicious. Unfortunately, on recent visits, the staff seemed disinterested after you had eaten your food. Unfortunately, if the place is busy, you won't be able to understand what you're saying in the main part.

In the beginning, I enjoyed coming to the R-Cafe relatively often. Unfortunately, the service has deteriorated significantly in the past and is no longer commensurate with the prices quoted. Sometimes you wait a long time for the waiter to order a new drink. In addition, on some days or at peak times the noise level is unbearably high, so a cozy atmosphere is out of the question. It's a shame, things used to be better somehow...

Super nice cafe and restaurant. Very nice service who loves her job! The food was very good and cheap. You can also go there by bike! It is definitely worth a visit for everyone. Questions will be gladly answered. There is a play area. The restaurant was very busy. Plenty of parking spaces in front of the house. Corporate events welcome!

Disaster! Unfortunately, the waitress couldn't even tell me the time of day with a smile, let alone tell me the brand of non-alcoholic beer when I asked. Also had to point out that the previous guests had to take the used dishes with them... Really stupid

The ambience and the food are great! Unfortunately, the homemade ice teas taste a bit weak.. The staff is not bad, unfortunately you can tell that they are often under stress and annoyed.

When my companion and I entered the store, we wanted to go out onto the terrace. We saw an empty table right at the entrance and decided to sit there. After a few minutes of waiting, a waitress came up to us - she was short, had short hair and green eyes - and asked us in a passive-aggressive tone if we "couldn't read". It turned out that the table was reserved, but we didn't notice this immediately as there was only a small, easily overlooked note on the table. At this point we hadn't even fully sat down, and yet we were immediately shouted at. When I replied that her behavior was unfriendly and that there was a lack of an appropriate greeting, she simply replied that “reserved” was on the table. I explained to her that we hadn't seen the note. She then said that you had to wait at the entrance area. I explained that I wasn't from the area and didn't know this, but that didn't justify her unfriendly tone.

Everything was great except for the service. Caves Bad of the lady with short black hair. Absolutely no respect. You are judged based on your appearance. They wanted the pizza sliced Instead, you have to listen to the following saying: “can’t you cut it yourself?”

We were there today. After we waited a long time for service, unfortunately no one came. I then asked a waitress about it and she said she would let me know and someone would come straight away. After another 15 minutes, still no one came. When we got up, a waitress probably noticed it and came towards us. I asked him if the food would take longer if we ordered now. He answers that there is a lot going on, so it will take longer. Then we left. The R Café was at most 40% occupied at this point. There was also cutlery on the floor next to our empty tables, a lot of food spread around the tables and the tables were all sticky. The walls were also full of stains and spider webs. Unfortunately an incompetent service. That was the first and last time there.

After a long time we went to R Café Neheim again today. As soon as we walked in, it was anything but inviting, because all three employees who were working right at the entrance couldn't say a word, let alone say "hello". The employee who took our order came across as rather unfriendly. When the order came, it turned out that she had probably misunderstood us, or we hadn't made ourselves clear enough - but you could have asked if you weren't sure. In any case, the dish we ordered was brought twice and the employee took one dish away again. A few minutes later the employee came back to our table and confronted us in a very unpleasant manner. We explained what we ordered, she disagreed, almost rudely. That alone doesn't necessarily contribute to a relaxing visit. In addition, it was observed that guests were seated at other tables, but the tables in front of them were not even cleared away. These guests were only able to place an order after they had drawn attention to themselves for some time. Sorry, but that's not possible these days, what a shame!

Good breakfast, you get a lot on offer. We were there on Saturday and had pre-ordered.

I've been to R-Café several times, I work in the catering industry myself so I understand when it's full and when the meal takes a long time. But unfortunately the team doesn't work in harmony - the food is well prepared but nothing more. Unfortunately, the mushroom cream sauce tasted more like broth than anything else, the fries were in the fryer for too long and that wasn't a shame.

I had the Malfy Gin Tonic Rosa with a friend, and at a price of €9.95 we thought “okay, not exactly cheap, but okay”. When we wanted to pay the waitress said “that’s €24.90”. A little puzzled, we looked at each other and asked where the price came from. Well, the 0.2l Schweppes cost €2.50 extra. €12.45 for a gin and tonic is a disgrace, especially when the glass isn't even completely full. At least endless cobwebs were included for free. Never again

Service very unfriendly. The quality of the food has decreased significantly, everything is now only from the freezer. Prices are clearly too high for this quality. Waiting time of 1½ hours is not acceptable. The service more than walked past the table...ignored.

The service was unable to cancel the drinks ordered and add them to the lunch offer. Is there a difference??? Why do people in Germany always ask what you want to drink beforehand? There were no children's menus on the tables in the play area.

The location is beautiful overlooking the river, the service is nice and professional and the products are delicious.

Today we went to the R-Café again after a long time and it will probably be the last time. The restaurant was far from full, but there were still immense waiting times. One of the waitresses preferred to stand at the counter with her cell phone rather than take and process orders. Even when we got up and went to the counter to pay (after no one was in sight for another 30 minutes), we only responded after asking several times. Dirty cutlery, a really unclean play area for the children and cobwebs in every corner (which apparently must have been hanging there for weeks to months) rounded the whole thing off. It's a shame, the R-Café used to always be worth a visit.

I have never seen such dirty toilets in a restaurant, I would have thrown up soon, and then I couldn't eat or drink there anymore, very disappointed 😞 never again

It's a shame that in addition to the sugar shaker on the table, sugar is served in sachets with every cappuccino. Packaging the onion meat in foil in portions is also worth considering. In the meantime, both bread and rolls were out.

Very nice place on the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path, where you can stop your bike in the summer and enjoy a cool drink. Tomorrow there will be a very tasty, rich breakfast buffet there, which I can highly recommend.

We stopped here on our second stage on the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path. We have already received a tip about this location from the receptionist at the mountain monastery in Bestwig (thanks for that! 😉). Initially we wanted to sit outside, but after the waitress informed us that there was no service outside yet, we sat down in the winter garden. The service was very nice and quick, despite the restaurant being busy. The food also came pretty quickly. Price/performance is completely okay, considering that you have a direct view of the Ruhr and that many tourists probably look in here. The selection of food and drinks is very large and there is something for everyone. Clear recommendation.

A hell of a breakfast buffet. Food and drink in plenty of options.

Service, ambience is good. Very child-friendly with a great playground. Unfortunately the food isn't even remotely worth the money. Pizza from the freezer with a sticky base, flattened schnitzel from the deep fryer. Hard to eat without sauce. A dollop of braised onion isn't enough to swallow it. The salad is a joke for the price. Even the dressing was saved. Would be a great store if they didn't skimp on the most important thing - the food. We'll never go there again.

Were there for lunch. My food arrived almost half an hour before my family's meal. My children's pizzas were undercooked. Of course my food was cold by then. It can always happen that something goes wrong in the kitchen, but I would have liked someone to ask if you should reheat the food. Service was friendly.

We were there in the afternoon and sat outside overlooking the river. I had a homemade iced tea, which was very refreshing. The bowl was fresh and tasty. We then treated ourselves to a souffle. Highly Recommended. The service staff were all friendly, attentive and had a smile on their faces. All in all wonderful. Gladly again!

R Cafe is a great place to have a relaxing time with small children. The play area is lovingly designed and offers the little ones lots of fun while parents can enjoy their coffee in peace. Unfortunately, there are always couples without children who occupy the tables in the play area. This is annoying because parents then have no opportunity to sit near their playing children and relax while visiting the café. It would be desirable if this area was kept free for families as a priority. Apart from that, the café is really recommended for a visit with children.

Basically okay but the acoustics in the interior are catastrophic! Especially recommended if you have nothing to say to each other ;-)
