We usually get takeout here because we're generally quite happy with the food. I drive by there after work anyway. But today really annoyed me. I drove by after work and ordered two cordon bleu to go. It was a bit busy today, and they were quite busy. He said it would take a while, about 20 minutes. I completely understand that, of course. But it can't be right that people who arrive 20 minutes after me get their schnitzel 15 minutes later, while I'm still waiting. So I went to the front and asked about the cordon bleu. They were ready and waiting on the side, on the counter. I asked how long they'd been there. The answer: "10 minutes." That can't be right; I'd been sitting there waiting the whole time. I don't mind waiting because I want the food freshly prepared. But I don't want it sitting around for ages and getting cold. Besides, other dishes were always taken out as soon as they were ready. I really got the impression that they didn't even remember I'd ordered anything.

The value for money is sensational. You can hear the chef pounding the schnitzel and see the fried potatoes being tossed in the pan. Unfortunately, I'm only passing through. Hopefully, I'll be back soon.

The quantity is right. I was a bit surprised by the quality today; the very large, flat pork schnitzel was thicker than the marinade in places. I didn't know we could raise such lean pigs. The staff, however, hasn't changed; they were still friendly. This was probably my last visit for a while.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed today! Prost Mahlzeit couldn't be reached by phone to pre-order; we only got a recorded message. We then drove there and ordered six takeaway meals. The team was very stressed and hectic. Overall, all the portions were smaller than usual. The aspic had one (!) onion ring, which is different from what we're used to. The onion schnitzel was thin and dry, and the few onions were 90% black and burnt, inedible. We're also used to something different. The cordon bleu was extremely dry and very thin. We've only ever known it as fluffy and juicy. Overall, the food was very disappointing. We've never experienced anything like this at Prost Mahlzeit before. It's a real shame; we probably won't be eating there or getting food there again for a while. Paid almost €90

It's been a long time since I've had such a delicious currywurst with fries and mayo, along with a Sinalco. That's how it should be. The staff is friendly, and the seating is comfortable.

The schnitzel was very flattened and therefore very, very thin. The fries were not good; they were very hard, with lots of small pieces, and some of them were just warmed up. The service was friendly, it was very clean, and the place looked nice. It's a shame the food wasn't that good.

Well, cheers! Great snack bar with super delicious dishes. Freshly prepared and with love. The food is served hot and quickly. Will be back next time I'm passing through. Addendum: I stopped by again on June 8, 2025, and had another delicious meal. It's nice to know that there are still hosts who try not to compromise on quality in a time when everything is getting more expensive.

OMG. Come on it doesn’t get better than this. If you’re lucky enough to be staying in Unkel as we were in our camper or passing through then this place is a must place to go. Not only is the food portions huge but freshly cooked to order and at a very low to reasonable price. It’s so good to sit in a restaurant and hear them making the food to order and never hearing the microwave going ping in the background. Thanks very much to the lovely ladies making great but also for making us very welcome too🙏

We were here for lunch and we ate well. It must be ordered at the counter, the food would be freshly made and brought to the table. You take drinks out of the fridge yourself. The food was really hot, beautifully presented, plentiful and tasty. The price is right, we'll be back. Very clean toilets.

I know the Prost meal under another management. Today I thought I could go there again. I ordered the Bolognese schnitzel with fries and mayo. When the food came I thought it was a nice big portion. A little bit of sauce but ok. When I started to eat, I thought I was going to get hit. We eat out a lot when we're out and about but this was by far very bad. Where do I start Fries half raw and floury. Schnitzel was fresh and large but pounded too thin and therefore very dry. Bolognese sauce was underground. The taste was very vegetable-based. You order Bolognese sauce with meat but it tastes more like vegetable sauce. The mayonaise was very good. Ambiance was inside. Clean but chaotic.

For me, the Prost Meal is the best snack between Bonn and Koblenz. The food is always fresh and delicious. Everything is available here at very fair prices.

Today we ate here again. We had a paprika schnitzel with fries. The schnitzels are well fried and served with a hearty sauce. The sauce has a little spiciness and is not too sour. The food is hot and served quickly after ordering. The fries are delicious and the portion is sufficient. The service is friendly. We'd love to come back.

Dogs not allowed! Because of the open kitchen. Totally fine and understandable. There are parking spaces in front of the door, if the dog is car-friendly, you can see him through the beautiful window😁 Very nice, clean and tidy local. Eating a lot and very, very tasty. We were in the mood for a schnitzel and found this snack bar on Google. I ordered a Mexican-style schnitzel with Bolognese. A piece was served that stood far over the edge of the plate. The breading was perfectly golden brown and crispy without being greasy. The meat itself was tender and juicy, just like a good schnitzel should be. The combination of the crispy shell and the tender meat brought joy with every bite. I particularly liked that it was freshly prepared and served nice and hot. The bolognes with cheese and jalapeños rounded the whole thing off wonderfully. Simply delicious!” The fries were fried to perfection, salted appropriately and crunchy. Conclusion: Meals for big appetites at fair prices that taste as great as they look. The employees are all very friendly. Many high-end restaurants cannot match this level of quality.

The food tastes really good and everything is always prepared freshly for you. The service is friendly and reliable, whether on site or on the phone. The portions are more than large, so large that you can easily pack up the rest to take with you. All in all, the restaurant can be recommended, a stopover for good cuisine where you can fill yourself up well.

We treated ourselves to a very tasty meal here today after a fairly long hike 👌 super tasty, clean and service was also good.

Ordered food to take away: 1xJägerschnitzel with pasta and 1xPizzaschnitzel with fries and hollandaise sauce. For 24 euros When we got home we were very disappointed 😞 Jägerschnitzel with fries Pizza schnitzel with noodles, hollandaise was completely missing. That doesn't work at all!! In addition, the schnitzels were already very dry. A pizza schnitzel and dry? You have to get that. There was nothing like that with Andy. A pity !!! I probably won't go there again.

I just ordered three takeaway meals. And I was allowed to listen to Darth Vader jokes from the chef throughout my wait of about 20 minutes. When I asked when paying if I was joking about my mask, I was overwhelmed with "I don't understand anything about the mask"....the gentleman who billed me apologized with a "I'm sorry". There was only one other guest there, so I'm not stupid to understand these references! And since the cook didn't want to understand me because of my mask, these words were addressed directly to him: Save yourself such allusions as long as you don't know why it is like that! If you have a problem with a mask, you're really pathetic. We are very happy to swap because I would really be happy about a healthy, carefree and long life!! And imitating Darth Vader doesn't look so good on you at your age. But may the mask be with you. And to answer your question: my father's name is not Luke. You'd better be careful that soon you'll only be burning your fingers on your stove and not because you're making disrespectful jokes on other people's backs. P.S. A little tip from me: It's best to go for regular check-ups so that you don't have to wear a mask at some point! Anyone who can open their mouth like that and hate people should also have the strength to apologize. I've known the cheers meal since I was a child. That would never have happened to Andy back then! You can be glad I paid for the food and took it with me, my insides wanted to throw it at your feet.

The only small drawback (for me personally): unfortunately there is no possibility to park the truck there when I come there on business, but there are enough spaces for cars.

Viele Suppen ausverkauft, dann Linsensuppe genommen halbe Portion, weil Frau keine Magen hat der Wunsch wurde erfüllt. Jedoch voll überwürzt . Das Schnitzel war lecker ,jedoch Pilze waren maximal 2 kleingeschnittene und die Zwiebeln waren ziemlich dunkel und für das große Schnitzel viel zu wenig. Und kein Milchkaffee. Das alte Ambiente war viel schöner als diese schwarzen Fliesen, ok das ist Geschmackssache . Bedienung war aber sehr nett. Werden trotzdem nochmal wiederkommen, vielleicht war es ein nur ein Montag. 😉
