The food is okay. We ordered gyros with fries. Unfortunately, there wasn't much meat; the meat was wrapped in rings of red onion (an optical illusion) to make it look fuller on the plate. The fries were bland. The service was good.

The food was, as always, very good. Although it was quite busy, it was served quickly. I only have to deduct a point for the service. Unfortunately, we weren't asked if we wanted anything else to drink even after 20 minutes. We actually wanted to stay longer...

During our spontaneous visit without a reservation, we still managed to get a table in the fairly busy outdoor restaurant. However, it was quite cramped and quite loud. The service seemed rather dismissive, inattentive, and arrogant. Our request for a non-alcoholic shandy was declined because "a bottle of non-alcoholic beer would have to be opened." We could only get the non-alcoholic shandy if we ordered two at once. We're also used to the way the food is served. The food was perfectly fine for us, both in terms of portion size and taste. The price was too high. After our meal, we didn't feel like staying any longer and having another drink.

Ouzo as aperitif and slice of watermelon to end meal as complimentary! I had vegetarian dish - Aubergine, Zucchini and cheese filled red pepper! Absolutely amazing! And Bitterlemon as drink! Service is fast and courteous staff! Some of them speaks English as well! It is next to U-Bahn station in Garching city!

We had dinner here. We got a table right away, and the waitress immediately offered us ouzo. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The bread was nice and warm and fluffy. The salads were also very good. We were very satisfied.

Very good quality. I was there 8 years ago for experiments and I had a great memory. Nothing has changed!

They found us a table quickly, thank you. The restaurant is full on Saturday. They brought the ouzo right away, although my son doesn't drink alcohol at all. The table is dirty, they cleared it up somehow. The meat wasn't cooked well. I ordered suflaki, and my son got gyros. The grilled chicken was tough - I don't know how they managed to ruin it. The salad was good. They brought a watermelon as a compliment. Let the chef go on vacation to Greece, let him try the local dishes:)

Somebody needs to visit Greece. The gyros comes by default with a trapezoidal pyramid of rice mixed with what is describable as homemade ketchup as well as peas. Having had multiple vacations in Greece, not one tavern ever offered gyros with rice or had it covered in a large stack of red onions. The meat itself was quite alright, so was the tzatziki, however positioning it onto a leaf of salad is a very peculiar decision. The appetizers came with no spreads or butter, an another normal custom in Greek taverns. What's even more peculiar is that the more authentic variation is listed as a jids' menu item. On the other hand, the styling of the restaurant is quite nice, it is clean and the staff are nice.

It's now become one of my regular restaurants. I eat there almost every week. There are two large rooms. One of them is often used for family celebrations. There's also a triangular terrace at the front and another long terrace at the back. At the very end, there's an area with white tables, especially suitable for evenings. There's parking nearby. Card payments are also accepted. The staff are super friendly, and, as I mentioned, the food is delicious.

Went to a greek restaurant in Garching not expecting much. All the waiters were Greek, food was authentic and tasted heavenly.

Really enjoyed my meal here. They start with a free orzo shot, the right way to treat guests. Food was quickly served and quite delicious. I recommend the pasticcio.. also did not try and add a tip (left one anyway).

The "Poseidon" in Garching is located on the main street, but has a lovely and quiet outdoor area behind the building. Four of us were here for dinner on the evening of May 14, 2025. The service was friendly, but a bit disorganized: everyone (or no one) seemed to be responsible for all the tables. You always had to wait for someone to come to your table to take your order. I liked the outside, but the interior isn't my style. What's absolutely unacceptable is the wide, dirty rim around the faucet on the women's restroom sink. I had tzatziki (€6.50), pita bread without garlic, and manouri (grilled soft cheese made from sheep's and goat's milk on arugula salad, tomato jam, and balsamic vinegar, €12). The pita bread tasted good when reheated; the manouri was good, but for me, it was dressed with far too much balsamic vinegar. The galaktobureko (the website still says it's with egg custard) was very good and a very large portion (€6.40). I'm still undecided about whether I'd come back... The restaurant has been open since 1993 and was busy. Parking is available on the street.

We had lunch today at Poseidon. The service was excellent. The staff was nice, kind and helpful. The food was great. Big portions. We had a great time. Highly recommended. We came again 01.06.25 5 adults and 5 Kids. The waiter Giorgios (I hope I am not butchering his name) was super kind and super patient especially with little hungry kids that can't decide. The food was great, the service was great and the whole meal was not expensive. We will be back.

I felt very comfortable from the very beginning! I received a very friendly welcome. I also received excellent advice on my choice of dishes. The service was always friendly and attentive 👍 My meal was very tasty, and I highly recommend it 👌 I'm looking forward to my next visit to the restaurant 🤗

Not recommended – disappointing visit despite having a reservation! We had reserved a table in advance, but when we arrived, none were available. Instead, we had to wait with other guests in the narrow entrance area. Ultimately, we were only allowed to sit down at a table on the condition that we be ready within an hour. The menu was placed wordlessly and listlessly on the table. When we politely asked to look at the menu first, the waiter responded with an unfriendly look and disappeared. The second attempt went somewhat better; we ordered a Coke for my underage son and a wheat beer for me. Both were placed in the middle of the table without comment, as were two side salads that were poorly presented. The main course – souvlaki and Delphi plate – was mediocre in taste (5 out of 10). While we were still eating and 80% finished, having only taken a short break, the waiter came over and said, "You're finished, I can take away." Without waiting for a response, he took the plates. Shortly afterward, the bill was placed on our table without comment and asked, "Cash or card?" We hadn't even asked for the bill yet. To us, it felt like a clear eviction. As we were leaving, someone called after us to ask if everything was okay – I replied, "No." Suddenly, all the waiters gathered around us, seeming surprised and unsympathetic to our criticism. Conclusion: A very disappointing visit with poor service, an unfriendly atmosphere, and mediocre food. We will try other Greek restaurants in the area in the future.

Service was rude, food was cold. Gyros were dry. I've visited so many Greek restaurants, this was the worst of them all. I don't understand the good reviews.

We were there for dinner for the first time tonight. But it didn't leave a good impression. Unfriendly, unmotivated staff. No greeting, dry, lukewarm giros with rice, the same with the calamari. Ouzo is simply placed on the table. No question as to whether it's wanted or not. But the conversation with regulars is more cordial than with first-time visitors. In short, not recommended. Never again.

Preferably zero stars. What I experienced today is something I have never experienced once in my entire 53 years of life. Aside from the fact that the food was less than OK, the appetizer plate was overflowing with beans that weren't really tasty. We asked for a LITTLE tzatziki because it was completely missing. Then came a small plate that cost an incredible 6.50 euros 😅😂😂 is that still possible?! As we offered friendly criticism, a regular guest intervened and loudly insulted us with a different kind of insults. Of course no one intervened. We also had to ask for the bill three times, but the small talk with our regular guest was more important. And I have one more tip: cleaning the window frames in the kitchen wouldn't be a bad idea. Never again!!!!

We always enjoy coming here when we take a short trip to Munich. The service is very good and the waiters are always in a good mood. The food is simply great!!! Price performance is definitely right here. We can only recommend Poseidon and would be happy to come back here! See you next time...

The food was OK but unfortunately it wasn't a highlight. Unfortunately, the warm starters were also rather poor compared to the high-quality Greek restaurants in Munich. The service disappointed us the most because a reservation for several people was not implemented as agreed. The answer here was: You just have to come together. All in all, the food was OK, the service from the waiters at the table was also OK, but we would be rather disappointed here.

Just a catastrophe, I've rarely experienced something like that. When you come in you are greeted very unfriendly. You're already annoyed by customers per se, you ask for a table - the answer is a shrug of the shoulders - hey, you see - I have no problem going out, there's enough free time. Of course you do, but no one comes to serve you... You're not even shown to the seat. Even though others are already sitting outside, they are being served. An absolute disgrace for a Greek and Greek hospitality

Original sound from my father (86) about his meal (lamb chops): campsite level. I had fish soup and tarama, both very bland. The salad was ok. Service: 3 out of 4 of the gentlemen were disinterested to disrespectful. Conclusion: never again.

Surprised to find a Greek restaurant in Garching, and were lucky to be seated within 1 min as we have no reservation. We arrived at 18:30, but shortly after the restaurant filled up rapidly. English menu was provided, and the atmosphere was lively. Ouzo was served immediately followed by our orders within 10 minutes; the squid and octopus in the mixed fish were grilled perfectly, and the galaktoboureko was warm, accompanied by ice cream. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, although our bill came after spoken to 3 different waiter.

Very good food. The farmer's salad was great and the lamb from the lamb plate was very tender and tasty. The Galaktoboureko was the perfect ending. Poseidon is a top Greek restaurant with great service and very friendly waiters, highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the food in this restaurant is very mediocre: the green beans lie limply on the plate, the cold starter is small and consists mainly of giant beans that taste like they come from a can. Side dishes (rice) are often only visually 'good'. The service urgently needs training on the topic 'How to deal with paying customers'. Very unfortunate. But the worst: the owner has critical reviews deleted! Very bad behavior! One could accept honest criticism as an incentive to improve. This is probably rather strange to the owner. You should therefore critically question the overall assessment again from this point of view.

I've been coming here for years, unfortunately nothing changes - always the same. Unfortunately this time the quality wasn't as usual. It would be good if there were changes, but not at the expense of quality. I would happily continue eating here if things improved.

We were here for the first time yesterday and were very satisfied. The service was very friendly and very nice with the children, the ambience was as you would imagine at a Greek restaurant and the food was very tasty! The ouzo beforehand was very soothing and the dessert was really good. We'd love to come back when we're in the area again.

The restaurant is a bit dark, but it is very popular, and the environment is quite warm. I have reserved a seat in advance, but the seats given are still quite crowded, and the seats given are not facing each other, but two seats next to each other. If you arrange the seats like this, It will be very embarrassing for 2 men. I ordered salmon, 4.4 points, and the lamb chops were a bit fatty, 4.2 points

Good Greek restaurant where you should make a reservation even during the week as it is very busy. Even though it's full, the service was relatively quick and very friendly and the food was delicious. Payment was possible with both cash and card. Since the restaurant is divided into several rooms, it doesn't seem so big but rather small and cozy.

Looking for a place to eat alone at short notice at the Electronica trade fair. The Poseidon was not far from my hotel, so I dared to try it. The restaurant was packed for a Wednesday, but the service still tried to organize a seat for me. The order was then taken quickly and friendly. Despite the store being full, the food came quickly, warm and was really delicious! Nice portions at reasonable prices for the quality. Thanks for your effort, I'd love to come back!

Visit on 10/29/24 Even though we didn't have a reservation we got 10! people have a table. In a practical sense, you simply opened up another area. By the way, it was also well filled with other guests afterwards. The waitresses were quick and in a good mood. Food ✅ Gladly again.

Were there early and never had to wait longer than 5-10 minutes for the next course

I had to go to this restaurant because I was invited and it was my first and last time. I eat better at home and for a much cheaper price. The quality of the food they offer is very low compared to the inflated prices. I don't think the pre-made fries served as a side dish are typical of Greek cuisine.

We've been coming here for ages and have never been disappointed. I think it's the best Greek in the area and I've tried a few. The service is extremely friendly and the food is always delicious. In the summer you can sit outside and in the winter you can usually find a place inside after a short time, even without a reservation. Still, I would recommend making a reservation just to be on the safe side Our whole family loves going there again and again.

Over prices, and they do pita gyros only for takeaway

I was there on Monday, September 16th. I ate the gratinated gyros, which was okay, but for the price I have to say and for the portion, what was offered was not appropriate. I think that the Greeks have raised the prices of their food the most when it comes to local prices and I find it partly incomprehensible because it is not a special cuisine and what is offered usually tastes bland or salty. It was quite bland here and the meat was very fatty, some of which I couldn't eat because I don't like fat.

Ate in the restaurant last night - prices for the portions were way too expensive - "adult prices for children's portions" The taste was just below average, the service was unfriendly and there was no decency when serving - overall a restaurant that is not recommended

We were a large group with a reservation, unfortunately they were very overwhelmed. The children were given children's snaps (juice) over and over again in a jug without asking the guardians whether this was okay (children's table). Some of the food came lukewarm. Unfortunately, it's a shame for us/me no more visitors value

We were there twice for lunch. Unfortunately I have to say that the portions for most of the dishes are far too small for the prices quoted. The food itself is average. Otherwise, the waitresses are quick and courteous.

I love Greek food and the proverbial hospitality of the Greeks. Unfortunately, only the food is good at the Poseidon in Garching. Friendliness and hospitality are a foreign word here. I have never noticed such unfriendliness in any other Greek restaurant. In Garching the wrong “Greek” definitely had to close.

Gyros with Metaxa was inedible, everything else was good. Unfortunately we didn't get a watermelon, all the other guests did.

Today we went to Poseidon in Garching for the first time. The food was really great. Price/performance was right. The meat and gyros were cooked to perfection. Dogs are also allowed, although if it's so busy I wouldn't take a dog into the restaurant. The atmosphere is rustic with Greek accents. High chairs are available for younger visitors. Service was a bit spotty during the payment process. We waited almost 20 minutes until a waiter came to us. (this can be improved) It has to be said that the restaurant was quite full in the evening when the weather was nice. So all the service staff had a lot to do. We were offered melon as a farewell. What I would also like to note is that with so many restaurant visitors you should check the women's toilets. But I can only recommend it because the dishes we ordered were very tasty. P.s. The parking situation is not great, you have to be lucky or look on the side streets.
