Lovely place but stay away if you appreciate proper Thai food. You could even tell from the smell that the main ingredient was a Maggi condiment.. and it’s completely overpriced. I understand that food has to be tailored to local palates but this cannot be really called authentic Thai.

Whenever we come to Bremen, it's a "MUST" for us to go to Pochana Thai. We've never been disappointed there; on the contrary, there are always pleasant surprises. The food was SUPER DELICIOUS, and then again, this carving art; it's alongside the food, the warmth and friendliness, the ambiance, the service, in short, this feel-good atmosphere, which we always consider a short vacation, a true feast for the eyes. And our hearts swell with every visit when we see how this restaurant puts heart and soul into every aspect of offering guests a feast for the eyes and palate. And even though the restaurant was completely full, everything went smoothly; there was no rush, and we didn't have to wait long for food, drinks, or later payment. The food was excellent and authentically Thai. The service was very attentive, and the wine was also good.

Google asks: "Can you recommend this place?" Of course! We've been wanting to come here for a while, but as it happens... Today finally worked out. So: we had "laab gai" for starters. Minced chicken seasoned with spices. Very tasty and quite hot. Great! The main courses were "Chicken Breast with Red Thai Curry etc." and "Braised Pork in Coconut Milk Thai Pa Neng Curry." We also really enjoyed these two. In short: great, fantastic, and we'll be back! It's just a shame that it's closed on Sundays and Mondays 😉. But we've kept that in mind and are already planning. See you soon.

We had a delicious vegetarian meal (spring rolls, green curry, red curry with tofu, and a wonderful Thai dessert with banana in warm coconut milk). Our 3-year-old received his meal quickly and on a beautiful children's plate with exactly what we had requested, even though it wasn't on the menu (rice, tofu, broccoli, and mushrooms). So incredibly sweet! We didn't have to pay for his meal, but we'll definitely do so next time.

Overall, a very successful meal with authentic Thai flavors. The dishes were aromatic, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. 🍛 Red Curry with Crispy Duck A real highlight! The duck was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside – perfectly prepared. The red curry was rich, creamy, and well-balanced between sweet and spicy. The cherry tomatoes and chili peppers added freshness and color. Served with rice, it was simply delicious! 🌶️ Spicy Minced Chicken This dish was very spicy and well-seasoned. The minced chicken was juicy and beautifully fried with chili and spring onions. It was especially delicious with fresh salad and herbs. However, it was a tad too salty; a touch less salt would have made the dish perfect.

I've never had such good Thai food outside of Thailand. The service is very polite. And you can taste the love with which the dishes are prepared! Everything is fresh and homemade. Even the duck is freshly baked in the oven. And you can taste it. The spices are just right. I'd like to give them 6 stars. They deserve it!

I picked out this restaurant for my colleagues. I looked at the location beforehand and can therefore recommend it without reservation. My colleagues were enthusiastic about the food and the service and told me they would like to eat there again. The menu includes vegetarian dishes as well as dishes based on fish, poultry, beef and pork. This means that no matter what special dietary habits you have, you will find something that suits you there

Red Thai curry is super tasty, €21 is very expensive.

A place to dream about Thailand

Absolutely excellent food and extremely courteous service! I have eaten Thai food many times and have never had such excellent quality. The dishes are even arranged very decoratively, which certainly means an additional investment of time. Nevertheless, the service was extremely quick and attentive. The prices are reasonable. The toilets are very clean and hygienic. The ambience is calm and pleasant. Next time I visit I won't forget to take photos.

I’ve heard about Pochana for so long—it’s known as one of the long-standing Thai restaurants in Bremen. But believe it or not, this was my very first time visiting! And honestly… I’m a little mad at myself for not going sooner! I ordered a feast: red curry with roasted duck, tom yum goong, glass noodle salad, and larb. Every dish was packed with flavor and tasted just like home. The curry was rich and creamy, the tom yum was perfectly sour and spicy, and the larb and salad were both bursting with herbs and just the right level of heat. The best part? They can adjust the spice level! So if you’re not into very spicy food—or you’re bringing German friends along—just let them know. They’re happy to make it milder to suit your taste. Also, the Thai staff there are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I felt like I was visiting a Thai auntie’s kitchen—so warm and cozy! As a Thai, I absolutely love this place. It brings me comfort and reminds me of home. If you’re in Bremen or just passing through and craving true Thai flavors, don’t miss this place. It’s a little piece of Thailand right here in Germany.

For over 20 years, Pochana Thai has been serving excellent and delicious cuisine. The ingredients are fresh and high-quality, and the spiciness of the dishes can be reduced upon request. The service is very friendly. When we want something special, we like to go to Pochana Thai.

A cozy restaurant in the heart of the city. Pros: - Great atmosphere. - Beautifully decorated. I recommend the raised seating where you take your shoes off. - Friendly service in traditional attire: Great! - Asian music is playing, not run-of-the-mill pop: Also great! - Really tasty main course. - Clean restrooms. Cons: - The papaya salad was good, of course, but not as good as the competition I've also rated, and simply too small for the price. - Overall, everything is a bit too expensive. If you share two salads and a main course with water and a coke for two people, €66 is quite a lot of money. We had two papaya salads (very small) for €14.50 each and a main course (see picture, very small) for €26.50. That's simply expensive, especially if you tip accordingly and end up paying €75. I don't understand why, at these prices (and the tip), they don't even throw in a plum brandy. It costs next to nothing, but it creates a lasting sense of excitement, which I'm currently lacking. So, overall, everything is top-notch and high-quality, but simply too expensive, and for me, it's more 4.5 than 5 stars. But it could be that the downtown location demands such prices, and 4 stars would definitely be too low, so if in doubt, I'd rather give it 5 (since 4.5 isn't possible on Google). Nevertheless, for the reasons mentioned, there are better Thai restaurants in Bremen. But that's complaining at a very high level and probably also a matter of taste. Anyone who goes here can't go wrong.

How long was it now, we thought about it. 10 years approximately. Lamb with green beans and garlic, that haunted me for at least 10 years. At that time I spoke to a stunningly charming woman who claimed to be the owner and asked what she would recommend. And her answer was that she loves roasted garlic and lamb goes best with it. What can I say, it haunted me for 10 years. Tonight we'll try again. Tom Kun Yum Goong and lamb on beans and garlic. Okay, done. Simply delicious. See you in 10 years.

The food was tasty even if the tofu wasn't fried as the menu said. I don't think it's the best value for money. Many dishes are few and expensive. I suspect the owner will feel immediately triggered and will respond accordingly... Addendum: There were 8 dishes.

Very nice atmosphere...the food was A1, so very good and delicious. The duck was delicious and not that fatty. Soup delicious 😋 My husband had something different but was also very happy!! You can sit a little more quietly in the niches. Very nice, friendly service...all in all almost like a day on vacation...

We were in this restaurant for the first time yesterday. My husband and I are totally thrilled, very friendly and courteous staff. I had duck on vegetables, absolutely delicious and a very large portion. My husband was lucky, he got something too. I wouldn't have made it. He had the monthly dish on the recommendation of the boss and was not disappointed. Also absolutely delicious zander fillet with homemade, unsurpassed chilli sauce. We were extremely excited about this authenticity. This was definitely not the last time we eat here. Unfortunately we have to leave now, we'll be happy to come back next time we're in Bremen. I looked at the many positive reviews and trusted them. The service was friendly, I have to say that to be fair. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the food. As someone who, like many other Germans, has been to Thailand many times, I know what authentic Thai food should look like and, above all, taste like. Unfortunately that wasn't the case here. Of course, I don't expect Thai food in Germany to taste exactly like it does at HomeKitchen in Bangkok, but at least a quality that goes beyond what I could cook myself at home. The Tom Kha Gai for €10.50 came in a small bowl with few vegetables - I expected more. In Hamburg I get a larger portion with better taste and more vegetables for €6. That would have been appropriate. A Tom Kha Gai also includes, among other things, Thai eggplant/tomatoes/cilantro etc. Unfortunately none... My main course, red curry with chicken for €20.50, was also disappointing: bland in taste, with a lot of bamboo, a few thin strips of pepper and a few basil leaves - that was it. On the positive side, there was enough meat in both dishes. However, they were not convincing in terms of taste. The curry didn't taste much different than the soup. For a meal that cost me a total of €36 (soup, main course and a small bottle of water), I would have expected much more - at least in terms of taste and quality. Given this experience, I don't understand the many glowing reviews. Maybe I was just unlucky, but for me it was a typical run-of-the-mill meal. That probably explains why the restaurant was almost empty. Anyone who is familiar with Thai cuisine and has eaten here once is unlikely to come back.

We read many reviews before deciding on Pachana Thai. We were very happy with our decision. The service was lovely. Yes, you wait a little longer for your food to arrive, but that is because it is freshly prepared. The carrot art was adorable! We thought our dishes had just the right amount of spice. The owner chatted with us after the meal. All in all, a very pleasant experience with yummy food.

Delicious food and very friendly service, although the restaurant was full to capacity on a Saturday and there were some staff absences. The two ladies in service remained attentive and calm and the quality of the food remained impeccable despite the tense situation

It was a direct hit; excellent food, very friendly staff and - which has unfortunately become rare - no disturbing background noise, neither from music that is too loud nor from poor room acoustics. We enjoyed it as a family, we'll be happy to come back next time we visit HB!

I have been a guest at Pochana Thai in Bremen for decades and have never been disappointed. The food tastes as authentic to me as in Thailand, namely real Royal Thai cuisine. Simply delicious! The food is prepared by professional chefs trained in Thailand. You can taste that. The dishes are beautifully decorated with hand-cut flowers, palm trees or animals made from carrots. A lot of work and attention to detail. The staff is always friendly and polite. For me, there is no better Thai restaurant in Western Europe and I have met many on my business trips. I look forward to coming back every time and am particularly surprised by the alternating monthly recommendations. I highly recommend Pochana Thai!!!

What a gem! Delicious food. Definitely recommended. Nice intimate atmosphere. Excellent restaurant with a very passionate owner who literally works her butt off. This is partly due to a shortage of staff due to an accident by a new employee, but here too, similar to the situation in the Netherlands, it is difficult to find/get suitable staff.

The best Thai restaurant in Bremen. Let’s start with the interior! I felt like I was dining in Thailand, the furniture and and decorations are authentic Thai, very beautiful and cozy. The people that work there are very friendly, welcoming and all very lovely. I felt very comfortable there. The food Transported me into another dimension! So flavorful very authentic and is served on these amazing cutlery. I could’ve been more satisfied. I came here with 4 friends and ordered a wide range of food. All in all 7 dishes and 6 drinks and we all spent 38€ each which is a steel for the quality and service that the restaurant provides. The cocktail there was perfect and don’t get me started on the desserts! I can’t wait to eat here again. If you are in Bremen and craving Thai food I recommend you to come here.

We have often walked past the restaurant and always wanted to eat there. Last Friday we reserved a table by phone. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and given a table. We were served quickly and were able to place our order. The food was very good. We liked it. We'll definitely come back. Price. Performance is top notch.

I/we are always more than satisfied. The food is freshly prepared and tastes excellent. Of course the spiciness is adapted to European palates, but if you like you can of course order original Thai spiciness. Only people with Thai nationality work in the kitchen and in service. Not only does it say original Thai on it, it also has original Thai in it. I/we can only recommend this restaurant.

As part of a seminar stay in Bremen, we chose Pochana through Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. Nice ambience, super fast and very friendly service and super delicious food. We can fully recommend Pochana!

I enjoyed going there for years. Unfortunately, it is now significantly overpriced for the quality that is offered. Soup boring, with old lettuce leaves added. Main course old and reheated in the microwave. People talk their way out of it with “that’s how they eat it in Thailand”. Then on the bill the dish is 2 euros more expensive than on the menu and you feign goodwill by making the bill 2 euros cheaper again when paying. Addendum: Restaurant makes offensive response to factual facts. Probably one more reason not to go back. If you can't stand honest criticism, you should close the restaurant...

nice interior but really weird food... UPD: The delulu owner of the place keeps on answering people's bad reviews instead of concentrating on the quality of his dishes. first: stop spying your customers and judging their choices, second you even couldn't properly recognize me and my order lol, we ate several days ago and it was the lunch option and each of us had a separate beverage To sum it all up: dear people, spend 15 minutes walking time more and go to an amazing thai restaurant in Neustadt instead of spending your time and money on these spies...

The food was "ok" but not justified for the price. The duck was very tasteless. I know of much better restaurants that offer reasonable duck. The best thing was the Thai curry sauce and the rice (which tasted exactly like it came from a Chinese snack bar). Unfortunately, the starters were very bad and no one liked the different dishes. The service was also subpar, we waited almost 25 minutes to be able to place the drink order. Then it took another 15 minutes until they came... When we finally finished eating, there was never any question as to whether it tasted good, whether we wanted something to drink, etc... because the cola was just 0.2L 4€ was quickly empty and you didn't see any employees, so you sat there without a drink - that's absolutely not possible. Offering a 0.2 Coke for this price is also a disgrace, but you can get a LARGE one in any other restaurant! To pay you had to go to a worker there... I can't recommend eating there and won't be coming back... Answer to the owner: I am sharing my experiences here and nothing else. This is not a fake review. If you paid by debit card, do you want to see the amount that was deducted? No problem, let us know! But a lot can be said from your reaction and that's more than embarrassing...
