Durch Zufall an das Lokal gekommen. Tolle Weine, super Beratung und auch eine Kleinigkeit zu Essen gab es obwohl die Küche nicht besetzt war. Rundum ein nettes Lokal, das ich nur empfehlen kann. Bei schönem Wetter kann man auch gut draußen sitzen.

The name says it all. The two men in the blue checkered shirts insulted the other employees in front of the guests. While he was chatting privately with friends, he asked his colleague to work faster - completely unprofessional in front of the guests. But this doesn't seem to be important anyway: an older lady was reprimanded by the waiter because she dared to say that the glass for her cold beer was too warm. Complete demotivation at work, which all guests saw! The chef who came out in between was friendly. The food was good too. Nevertheless, with this working atmosphere and guest treatment, I will spend my money elsewhere in the future.

The cheese spaetzle does not correspond to the dish otherwise known by the name. The cheese spaetzle here in the restaurant is spaetzle with a set mixture baked in the oven with a brown crust. Onions were not visible. Service was slow and inattentive.

We stopped by this restaurant today on March 16, 2025 at 4:20 p.m. First of all I have to say, I am disappointed with this store. We sat in the restaurant for probably 15 minutes before anyone even noticed us. The waitresses from outside sit down at the front of the bar and wait comfortably until they receive their drinks to be served. People laugh and talk, only the other guests are waiting to be served. Then someone comes with a trident tattooed on the left side of his neck, looks at us sullenly, runs to the next table to collect it and leaves us on the right. After another five minutes, it was 4:40 p.m., he comes to our table, not a good day or a nice hello, but slaps a sign on our table that says reserved from 5 p.m. And cheekily says, you have to hurry up, I don't have time because I'm alone and don't know how long I'll need. What is that? Which employees does this owner have? This waitress bully doesn't understand normal customs. It is disgraceful to behave like this towards customers! We wanted to celebrate there and definitely leave a small fortune there. But you don't even experience such bad service at Mac Donalds. Only at McDonald's are the tables cleaner. Here at this table where we sat, yesterday's food was still stuck to it. Disgusting. The only verdict for me is never to go to a dive bar like that again. Abnormal service, I would be fired straight away. If guests leave because the wait staff is incompetent, I would throw that employee out!

My food was fine. The service at our table was okay, but it was very loud in the restaurant as dishes kept falling and breaking. In our society, some of the food was very poor in quality. The loin was dry and the sausages were inedible. Too bad

From the outside the restaurant looks rather rustic, inside it is more modern. We came without a reservation and got a table. Friendly, pretty service, the food came quickly and was very tasty. You should definitely make a reservation, otherwise you may not get a seat. The food is great, the wines are impressive and the service staff is friendly and will help with any special requests. We had cottage steak, rainbow trout and Kaiserschmarrn. Terrific!

Food and selection was good. There is rustic German food, rather small side salads, but large schnitzels. Some regional and organic ingredients from the region are used.

Rustic atmosphere and friendly service. The pilgrim beer is very tasty. The Plootz as a special is okay, but it's just a tarte flambée with a different dough and not rocket science. The quality of the Swiss schnitzel is okay, but there is far too much and the usual fries almost fall off the plate. The side salad is okay, the dressing not so much. Less can be more.

Schon bei meinen letzten Aufenthalten war die Atmosphäre der Angestellten absolut angespannt. Gästeorientierung Fehlanzeige, die Bedienungen und der sogenannte Restaurantchef kümmern sich erst bei Nachfrage um den Gast, insbesondere wenn er alleine ist. Massenabfertigung ist an der Tagesordnung. Obwohl heute Abend Tische frei waren, wurde ich aufgefordert, zu warten, bis ein Tisch für eine Person frei ist. Sorry, das war escerst mal mit dieser Location.

The food was top, even our North German was enthusiastic about the fish. Service and food are top notch. Prices are more than reasonable. Cozy atmosphere and chic furnishings. The only drawback is that it was genuinely served in the store, but what wouldn't you do for good food.

Beautiful weather, just after 1 p.m. Everything perfect. A walk through Bad Kissingen. Lots of people, great atmosphere and the tempting smell of Bavarian food in the market square (yes, you can be wrong about the smell, no question, but for me it was red cabbage, roast meat and imaginary dumplings). Something like that on the customer stoppers (billboards). Quickly decided: lunch. Very busy outside and a little fresh despite the great weather, I go in. Quite full, but still places available. A first service person storms towards me, empty-handed, I smile friendly and wanted to ask for a seat, but... stormed past, almost running over me and pushing me in the process. OK. The man was probably stressed. Spotted the next waitress, asked for a seat, got a table. Without words on his part. Without any words. card on the table. First word: "Drinks?". Ordered, he was gone. Very quickly, in fact, he came back with a very cold cola (seriously: great, I love cold drinks). I ask him about roasts, roulades, goulash and daily specials, as seen outside. Confusion. “There isn’t.” Well, then I wanted to pay, and after a good seven euros, I tipped another three euros (don't ask why, I'm generous). The waitress pockets the money, turns around and leaves. Without another word. I like to eat out a lot and I enjoy getting to know new things. I haven't felt so uncomfortable, so unwelcome, so unnecessary in a long time.

Div. "Ploatz" mit Teig wie selbst gemacht und ausgefallener Auswahl;Service sehr nett und auch der Wunsch nach etwas abgeschirmtem Tisch wurde erfüllt. Gerne wieder, vor allem auch montags geöffnet.

I had a Swiss schnitzel for lunch which was super tasty and the portion was also great. The landlord and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The homemade caraway schnapps is highly recommended. It is advisable to reserve a table. I'd love to come back. 😊

Absolute amateur place. My mother invited me here for a portion of Kaiserschmarrn. I was actually quite happy to have something good to eat in Bad Kissingen - for €16 (!) we got a measly portion in a small bedpan or whatever it was. Oh yes, we got our plates after 5 minutes. The Kaiserschmarrn actually tasted good, but then I bit into pieces that tasted like plastic and then like onions. Did the chefs mix up their spatulas? Then there's the matter of payment. The waiter asked: "Bar or card?" My mother wanted to pay by card but couldn't. When I wanted to pay, it didn't work either. Problem: The restaurant was apparently ripped off by the local bank and only got a crappy terminal that of course only accepts Girocard, but not Visa/Mastercard or similar. Don't let this happen to you. Just keep going here.

Rarely has such an excellent meal been served. We were completely satisfied and happy after the foreseeable event. Drove home for dinner.

Food very tasty. Prices ok too. But the staff was so hectic that food ended up on the floor three times, which then cost even more time. Putting the employee through the wringer in front of everyone isn't a nice way to do it either. You don't do things like that in front of customers.

Paspop als NIET Duitser zijnde dit restaurant hanteert een wel erg merkwaardige bankpas beleid. De leiding van dit restaurant blokkeert bankpassen van NIET Duitsebanken. Mijns inziens mag dat Europees gezien niet. Men komt er pas achter als je wilt afrekenen dan geeft men aan dat jouw bankpassen NIET goed zouden zijn en verlangt men contante betaling. Dat kan volgens mij maar 1 reden hebben namelijk het niet afdragen van BTW.

If you are looking for local cuisine combined with very friendly service in a beautiful market square location, this is the right place for you. My venison sausages in beer sauce were very tasty. By the way, with a side dish for bratwursts that is new to me: cranberries and pesto😋

Ich war schon mehrfach im Platzhirsch. Ich habe es immer wieder versucht, dem Laden eine Chance zu geben, denn die Öffnungszeiten sind für Bad Kissingen wirklich top. Aber es wird einfach nichts. Die Bedienung schwankt, meistens ist sie wirklich unfreundlich. Das fängt schon damit an, dass man als Gast komplett wegignoriert wird. Man muss wirklich auf sich aufmerksam machen, damit man überhaupt platziert wird. Und das geschieht mit einer unfassbar herablassenden Art. Das war jetzt jedes Mal so. Wenn man dann mal sitzt, bringt man am besten viel Zeit mit. Ich habe mittlerweile alle Wildgerichte probiert. Alles ist wirklich nett angerichtet, aber ich kann sie wirklich nicht empfehlen, insbesondere die Wildbratwürste sind geschmacklich und von der Konsistenz her miserabel. Ich vermute, dass die Sauen nicht ordentlich erlegt wurden und man dieses günstige Wild deshalb kurzerhand zur Wurst macht. Und das schmeckt man einfach. Davon abgesehen ist die Wurst rein handwerklich echt nicht gut gemacht, im Prinzip ist es eine längliche Frikadelle.

Roast pork with dumplings and red cabbage, could have been hotter. Tenderness of the meat is average. Dumplings not homemade.

The bratwursts and the Stramme Max were particularly delicious

Kamen um 16 Uhr bei 30 Grad Hitze im Platzhirsch an . Nicht voll besetzt. Eine männliche Bedienung ( war sehr mit sich und seiner „ Schönheit „ beschäftigt ) sah uns aber machte keine Anstalten zu kommen . Mach 15 Minuten warten haben Ich dann wieder gewunken und er winkte nur genervt und arrogant zurück . Lieber schön sein wollen und rumstehen . Irgendwann kam dann doch einer . Getränke gut aber das Essen sehr schlecht. Schmeckt nicht . Plotz matschig , Schnitzel tot frittiert. Ausgesehen hat das Essen auf allen Teller sehr gut, aber geschmacklich schlecht . Wir waren jetzt drei mal dort und der Service ist wirklich schlecht, besonders vom Kellner der über allen zu stehen scheint .

Wir waren an 2 aufeinander folgenden Tagen dort essen und es war an beiden Tagen top. Leckeres Essen zum fairen Preis und dazu noch ein sehr freundlicher und flinker Service. Aufmerksam und gut. Wir haben uns willkommen und wohl gefühlt. Wir waren nicht das letzte Mal dort.

Bad experience. Biased and aggressive employee. We were there on 05/31/2024 for lunch. After the usual wait, the employee in charge of the queue simply passed a couple in front of us (without any explanation) and left us waiting for “the next table”. We argued with him and he was extremely aggressive and arrogant. He said we should wait if we wanted to have lunch, passing the couple in front of us in a disrespectful and cynical manner. We had to leave the place. It was clear that we received this terrible treatment because we are foreign tourists. Place with prejudiced and aggressive people. To stay away.

Food was very tasty. But the staff should work a little on their friendliness. Drinks are placed on the table with force so that the guests are full. Without even apologizing. The food is good! It's just how the boss treats his staff that sucks. During my recent stay, I kept hearing screams coming from the kitchen and a waitress left the kitchen with tears in her eyes. Something like that is not appropriate!

We were guests in January 2024 and were thrilled 😊 We had ordered a table, but had to wait a while until it was available - but we got a mulled wine on the house 👌 The food was super tasty, the service was totally on point. Recommendation: definitely try the homemade caraway honey schnapps! Even the caraway haters liked it 😄 If we come to Bad Kissingen again, we will definitely come back here!
