Pizzeria Mevlana in Schwelm

It's a clean restaurant with a good location. Unfortunately it was very tight (for a larger number of guests). I dined there with my family and the waiters seemed friendly but were very overwhelmed. Not only at our place, but also at the table next door, incorrect dishes were delivered or orders were completely forgotten. A starter ordered in advance was completely forgotten. The food was quite good, especially the dessert, but you could ONLY pay in CASH. With 10+ people we left good money!

Everything was delicious, top notch

A small, fine, rustic restaurant by the church. I felt at home from the moment I entered. The server was quick, polite, and friendly; everything moved quickly at a pleasant pace. Delicious house wine (and I live in Rhineland-Palatinate, right in the middle of the vineyards), a small greeting from the kitchen, and homemade pasta. My husband had spaghetti with salmon, shrimp, and asparagus: absolutely delicious! Afterwards, espresso and grappa – absolutely delicious! Highly recommended!

A while ago, we were at La Grappa in a larger group (14 people). The waitress tried to be friendly, but was quite annoyed and overwhelmed in the crowded restaurant. Everything was hectic and loud. The chef's shouting echoed from the kitchen throughout the restaurant. The food wasn't bad, but not overly good either—just "okay," though the portions were rather modest. A few of us ordered an espresso afterward, and one a grappa. Since everyone paid separately, we all had to go to the front of the counter because the waitress couldn't separate the items at the table. Suddenly, two grappas were booked at the register, even though only one had been ordered and consumed. One of us paid for it, believing that a colleague who had already left had forgotten it, but this turned out to be false. The last of us then had to pay for a (supposedly open) espresso. The waitress even got really rude ("Someone has to pay for this!"). Let's be honest: we all paid individually and everyone tipped, but they still make such a fuss about €2.50 for an espresso and then become rude. Other places offer this kind of thing on the house. That's a good way to scare off customers. We won't be back! Very loud, average food, poor service!
