Pizzeria Catania in Marktbreit

Our new favorite Italian restaurant. We had fantastic pizza and a lovely evening there. The service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the food and felt very comfortable.

A very nice place in Marktbreit, with a playground right outside. The food is, of course, delicious, too.

Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. 2 playgrounds are nearby. Located on the Main River. Highly recommended!

Italian restaurant with a large terrace overlooking the Main River. The pizza, salad, and pasta were good, and the panna cotta with strawberry sauce was delicious. Very friendly service. Reservations are highly recommended. We were lucky to get two seats. Right next to the RV parking area. Fair prices.

No. We were rudely turned away without a reservation while passing through on a Tuesday with three people. There were still seats available outside. The inside wasn't even set up. We didn't feel welcome.

Note! Swedes should know that they don't take Swedish debit cards! Do. Were incredibly nice and kind when we left a few euros there. But it was crazy embarrassing. Good food and big glasses of wine anyway 🤣

The pizza is okay. However, every order has to be checked upon pickup, as something goes wrong every time. We received the wrong item 4 out of 4 times. Ordered a €13 pizza, got an €8 pizza. The order was corrected after we went back, but the topping was put on the cold pizza.

One of the best pizzerias in the area. The food is excellent, and you can taste the quality of the ingredients. We were here on a somewhat cooler summer evening. Unfortunately, only the terrace was open, and when we asked for an inside table, we couldn't get one, even though they were available. As it got increasingly colder, we couldn't fully enjoy the meal. It's a shame they were so rigid and didn't open the inside on short notice, or at least announce in advance that only the outside area would be open.

When you try to reserve a table (which you select in advance), you are told that you will be transferred...after being on hold for several minutes, you are finally disconnected...

It's so delicious! Everything on the menu, whether pizza, pasta, meat, or salads, is simply delicious. Pippo and his team are very friendly, the atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely, and there's a huge covered terrace. Very good value for money.

As a guest of the nearby RV park, you have no chance of deciding to eat on site (at least in good weather). Due to the exposed location, all the seats are likely reserved, and there are very few of them. Unfortunately, the tables aren't pulled apart to accommodate more guests; instead, two people are seated at a table where six could easily have sat. But if they were pulled apart, it would have been two times two (or even two times four). So, we had pizza and bruschetta to go. The wait time was a reasonable 15 minutes. The pizza was already ready in the cardboard box when we picked it up, and based on the temperature, it had probably been a bit longer – meaning it wasn't hot, just lukewarm. Unfortunately, when it arrived at the RV, it was almost cold. The bruschetta was very tasty, and the pizza tasted like a solid 3, more like a school grade 2. Service deduction: The reception was hectic and a bit overwhelmed – but the terrace wasn't so crowded that it couldn't have radiated more tranquility. When I was asked if I had a reservation, I was offered a seat, but declined (the standing table by the entrance isn't really my thing). When I then said I wanted to order takeout, I was curtly directed inside. There, I was greeted warmly and my order was taken. Another drawback when paying: only "old-fashioned" girocard or EC cards are accepted. The fact that banks these days almost exclusively issue Visa or Mastercard debit cards, and some can no longer issue girocards at all, is apparently not (yet) known here. So, I didn't have a suitable card on hand. Here, I expect a clear sign at the entrance or an honest restaurant owner who clearly communicates this (possibly online). The excuse that it's an old card terminal is far-fetched and completely unrealistic. I come from that area and know that many people use it to protect themselves from the fees. That's perfectly legitimate, I would have been happy to take it on too (i.e. pay more voluntarily), but that apparently doesn't matter, because they'd rather do without Visa & Mastercard altogether, thus completely blocking many customers from the outset.

Great restaurant 😁 super delicious food, relaxed atmosphere. The terrace is perfect for the summer. I'd go back anytime. The salad dressing with the secret family recipe is the highlight.

Was there yesterday... actually I love the fish platter yesterday, almost cold... Service is still a lot of room for improvement now... But since the shop is buzzing, it's probably not valued that much anymore... It's a real shame because the prices are also higher... Atmosphere cold... uncomfortable... Cordiality was almost completely missing... what happened there????

Had a pizza to take away, but it was very good. I think served straight on the plate it would be five stars. The staff was absolutely accommodating and the restaurant seemed spotlessly clean. I find the pricing more than reasonable. A small diamond in connection with the motorhome parking space. Clear restaurant recommendation.

We had Pizza Paul. Salami, ham, mushrooms, peppers and pepperoni. There was nothing to complain about. The pizza was well topped and rolled freely (you could clearly tell from the shape) and we liked it very much. Another plus point: dogs are welcome and are promptly provided with water.

Wir waren 5 Personen, 3 Gerichte kamen flott und 2 Pizzen wurden komplett vergessen. Auf Nachfrage kamen sie schnell, ein gemeinsames Essen war aber leider nicht mehr möglich. Die eine Pizza war nicht durch. Als die Bedienung fragte, ob alles in Ordnung war, konnten wir die Frage leider nur mit nein beantworten. Die Pizza wurde mitgenommen und wir dachten, wir bekommen eine neue. Aber nein, die angeknabberte Pizza wurde in den Ofen geschoben und nochmals serviert. Gesundheitsamt lässt grüßen… für uns eine große Enttäuschung und leider nicht empfehlenswert!

Have been to this restaurant many times. Usually super tasty food. Today we ordered and ate in the camper as there was no space left. We were both very disappointed with our pizzas. No taste, the topping poor. The mushrooms on the pizza were completely dried out. You had to look for the filling in the calzone. An absolute no-go in return for the restaurant.

Pizza is actually delicious But very little on it. There's almost nothing in the calzone. Lots of dough, nothing else. We've always been happy, but unfortunately not at the moment.

Great restaurant with outstanding service and delicious, fresh food. The prices are absolutely right, the two of us paid 65 euros with starters and coffee. In summer you can sit on the large terrace with a view of the Main. There are RV parking spaces in the adjacent parking lot. The parking spaces in front of the restaurant are free, the restaurant is not barrier-free. Always happy 😀

Wanted to eat there on Sunday evening. Unfortunately it was closed, although it was supposed to be open until 9 p.m. 🤷🏻‍♀️

unfortunately the only place with a kitchen open beyond 8pm in Germany. I would have preferred to eat something local.... pizzas comparable to our frozen ones if not inferior, and Italian dishes raped with cream.... the only Italian thing is the bill without a receipt....

The pizzeria is okay in terms of price-performance ratio. You can choose 3 pizza sizes. The service was very quick. The food came very quickly, everything happened a little too quickly for me, but that's purely a matter of feeling. We paid €32 for 2 pizzas (medium sizes) and 3 beers.

In short... where you enjoy eating because you eat well! Price/performance is really good. Not exactly cheap, but really well-made Italian cuisine. The service is unobtrusive but always present. Food is freshly prepared. The waiting time can be easily bridged with the good selection of wines. Important! Please order a table. The restaurant is a bit hidden but the shop is buzzing

Super delicious Italian cuisine with a great atmosphere! Located directly on the Main with a large terrace and a beautiful view. Very friendly service! And for the children there is a large playground right next door. And the cycle path also leads right past it. However, it is advisable to reserve a table in good time!

Chosen spontaneously, luckily reserved. The pizza was quick and tasty, the service was quick and friendly. The restaurant on the upper floor is nicely decorated. The entrance is not immediately obvious if you cannot enter via the terrace. The view from the terrace is certainly nice, we sat inside and unfortunately it was already dark. But we would happily visit this pizzeria again at any time.

Great location, great service, delicious food...everything perfect!

The restaurant is picturesquely located on the Main with a good view. The staff was very friendly and the drinks and food came quickly despite the full house. The dishes also tasted very tasty, but I found the tomato sauce on the pizza a bit tasteless, but otherwise there was nothing to complain about in terms of taste or appearance. We'd love to come back.

Food is OK, not the greatest. Service is terrible, waitress was not polite and you are almost kicked out when nearing closing time.

August 2024: we get pizza here at least twice a month. Unfortunately I have to revise my review from 1 year ago. I don't know what happened, but unfortunately the pizzas are no longer what they used to be. I'm speculating whether they now use ready-made pizza dough or whether there's another pizza maker, but I'm really disappointed. The salad dressing remained the same. Unfortunately, we will make our own pizza in the future or get it somewhere else. 2023: Super delicious pizza

Beautiful large terrace with a view of the Main and meadows, next door there is a playground and camping. Pizza and pasta are highly recommended, I would rather make my own salad with good oil and balsamic vinegar. Attention vegetarians: where it says veggie, it doesn't always mean veggie!

We are standing here on the parking space in Marktbreit and based on the reviews we ordered from Pizzeria Catania. Waited forever and was kindly given a bottle of red wine. But that was the only positive thing. Never had such a bad Italian meal before. Pizza base hard and without any seasoning. You had to look for the tomato, rocket parmesan topping except for the rocket. The pizza bread was rock hard and f......dry. Tortellini al Forno......really al Forno, bordering on burnt. It's a shame, but we expected something different for the money. Therefore only 1 star.

Unfortunately a disappointment! The gentleman and the young woman in service missed their job. Both were very unfriendly. An e-cigarette was smoked at the next table and the gentleman at our table told us that smoking was forbidden here. When the table next door explained this, there was no apology. Better yet, he completely ignored our table afterward. The pizzas were average and the vitello was bad. A pity

Very tasty food, unfortunately the food was brought to us very late. The service staff's perfume was very intrusive and distorted the taste of the food. Allergy sufferers would also have big problems with it.

We ate there on a day when it was quite cold. We could not eat inside, only on a (covered) terrace. It was cold there. Too bad they don't allow indoor dining. The pizza was delicious and the service was excellent, but it was a shame about the cold.

Unfortunately, the quality has recently declined significantly. Once a guarantee of delicious food, today it's more of a matter of luck. Sometimes good, more often just mediocre. Above all, the salad dressing, which used to be a main attraction where you wiped the last drop onto the bread, is now just thin and watery with no real taste. Same problem with the pizza, the dough is rather mediocre and there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of taste. Maybe just think about whether high guest numbers are the sole criterion by which you want to measure yourself, or whether you still reflect on the quality of your products.

Great pizzeria, I ordered pizzas as part of a graduation party for my soccer boys. Great service, pizza was ready to the minute and all the boys enjoyed it. There was even a discount for the youth footballers, great sport, thank you again!!!

Contrary to the many positive comments, I was not convinced here. Both in terms of service and food. The service confuses attentiveness with a bit of intrusiveness. Personally, I believe that the pizza dough and the tomato sauce are ready-made products. Only the ingredients on the pizza are prepared by the kitchen. I can't judge whether the other dishes are partly finished products (so-called convenience). Overall, I wasn't convinced. I'm curious to see if there is an answer.

We can highly recommend the restaurant, especially if you have children. There is a great playground directly below the restaurant. The service is incredibly friendly and fast. The food is fresh and served hot. We also give full marks for taste.

Service TOP! Salad very tasty, pizza has a crispy base, a little too little seasoning and, above all, not enough cheese for our taste! Espresso ☕ like in Italy - perfetto 👌 The ambience would be great, terrace with a view of the Main - but large family celebrations give it more of a canteen feel. Be sure to reserve seats in advance!

Nice terrace with a view of the Main. Unfortunately, either the terrace or the guest room is currently open. 5 stars for the terrace, 3 for the guest room. Service was quick, it didn't matter whether we liked the pizza. The pizza dough was good, but there was very little taste. This also applies to the beer served.

We were invited to lunch as guests of a confirmation celebration. Since the weather was great, we were lucky enough to be able to sit on the terrace. As a starter there was a uniform anti pasti for everyone in the company. Delicious. For the main course we had Spaghetti Mare e Monti, salmon ravioli and baked pasta. All very tasty. The service was quick and attentive.

A classic in the region, not always good performance and service. It is of course important to reserve a place in good time. Especially on weekends.

We went there for dinner with a group of 7 people. The ambience is without question great. We were warmly greeted and seated. The drinks came quickly. The starters were good. Unfortunately my main course was at best okay. The salad with shrimps I ordered and my friend's salad came very quickly after the starter and well before the other meals. Unfortunately, both my friend's salmon and my shrimp were cold. It was probably in the kitchen for a while. But the other food at the table was highly praised. What was a shame was that we weren't asked whether we wanted something to drink or whether we wanted dessert. We couldn't really make ourselves noticed because we were simply ignored. Since the service staff were very nice, I still get four stars.

Although we had made a reservation, when we got there a little early we were sent out to wait (which was fine) but unfortunately relatively unfriendly. When we came back 5 minutes after our actual reservation, we were then told to go for another walk. (It wouldn't have been so bad if we didn't have to specify all the times and so on when making the reservation) That's why I can't rate the food. No further recommendation

Gute, ausgewogene Speisekarte, sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service Wir waren angenehm überrascht , weil es ja schon andere Bewertungen gab und kommen gerne wieder, wenn wir mal wieder in der Nähe mit unserem Reisemobil sind. Der örtliche Stellplatz ist ja unmittelbar neben dem Restaurant. Moderate Preise und das Weinglas war großzügig gefüllt , das haben wir auch schon anders erlebt. Trotz voller Resevierungen hatte man uns noch einen Tisch organisieren können. Ein gelungener Abend.

It was a very nice evening and the food was very good. There was plenty of choice on the menu and requests for changes were easily possible. The waiter was very friendly, and our children were also super nice. The ice cream is also highly recommended. We would like to come again.

Our favorite Italian! Clarity when reserving a table online, great food and ambience, very friendly and genuinely Italian staff. In warm months you can combine a visit to the restaurant with a nice walk directly along the Main. Just wow!

Vorspeise, Pasta und Pizza Top. Dafür auch 10 Sterne. Der Salat hat uns das Dressing nach Maggi geschmeckt. Kommen bzw. holen uns aber wieder was bei euch.

Waren im Winter dort. Leider nicht so schön im inneren. Im Sommer auf der großen Terrasse ist es wirklich sehr schön.

Wer beim Italiener Schnitzel und Bremser bestellt ist selbst schuld. Das ist keine Pizzeria sondern ein italienisches Restaurant. Selten anzutreffen in Franken. Ambiente, Service als auch die Gerichte sind sehr gut, allerdings gibt's Sprudelwasser 0,7 Liter neuerdings aus dem Wassermax für €4,50. Das werde ich mir in Zukunft verkneifen und gleich ein Kauzen Weissbier bestellen. Für 1 Euro wäre das Wasser OK, aber so... Ein Stern Abzug!
