Rarely have I seen such an extensive children's menu. Our son was thrilled. There was even a children's pizza. All dishes were very tasty and absolutely fair in price. Ambience great. We sat inside in the vaulted cellar. Everything nicely decorated. Can only recommend this restaurant 👍

Food was tasty. Antipasto starter was delicious. We shared 2 bowls with 6 people, more than enough.

Zowel het voorgerecht als de pasta waren een blamage voor de Italiaanse keuken. Bovendien kregen we onze drank pas na aandringen. Het voorgerecht was ondertussen al op de tafel gegooid. Kortom schande!

Gewoonweg slecht! Eten zeer slecht en bediening bedenkelijk. Trio van pasta was gewoon een kommetje met drie soorten pasta met iets dat op een tomatensaus moest lijken waar ik een paar stukjes gehakt heb in gevonden.

Food was tasty.. staff was unfriendly and distant.. there was no atmosphere... the food had to be left quickly before the next person could be seated.

Schande Haal in de supermarkt een blik ravioli en je hebt beter gegeten. Wij kregen 3 soorten pasta gemengd met passata en room, beetje kaas erover en de oven in. Met 3 miniscule brokjes gehakt. Voorgerecht was sneller geserveerd dan de drank.

The starters are really good. However, the stone oven pizza really doesn't work at all. It has no taste and is really poorly topped. The boss of the house is also simply unpleasant in his manner. He always makes derogatory comments and generally seems very annoyed. I would recommend everyone to go to one of the other pizzerias.

Well, the food was partly OK partly not so good. The not so good part was probably caused by using old meat (it was chewy), and many of the ingredients felt like some frozen food from the supermarket re-heated. Not really nice by an Italian restaurant. Dai. The service was OK, but maybe they might need more people when it gets too busy.

Very tasty and friendly service! Good price! If you make a reservation and want to sit on the terrace, you should ask specifically because it is a very small terrace. Inside is also cozy. We ordered the lasagna and a pizza.

Bitte nicht auf die vielen guten Bewertungen reinfallen. Wir waren zum Pizza essen dort und der gesamte Abend war leider wirklich schlecht. Service unterirdisch - man wurde nicht verstanden; die Pizzen waren leider auch nicht gut - triefend vor Fett und die Salami war auch qualitativ minderwertig. Im Salat von meinem Mann fand sich dann noch eine Scampischale - zum Glück sind wir nicht auf Krustentiere allergisch… Schade, dass wir nicht einfach nochmal beim Zum Stüffje essen waren - dort war es fantastisch!!

No idea how this can be the best Italian locally, if it is (we only tried this one), then good night Cucina Italiana in Cochem. There are 2 stars because we were full and the service was ok. There was scampi shell in the mixed salad - rather disgusting if you ordered a mixed salad without any seafood. The waiter was surprised when he said this, but that was it. The pizza was ok but super greasy and the “spicy” salami was soggy and bathed in too much cheese, the feeling of fullness lasted throughout the night. Price would have been reasonable if the salad had been okay and the slight nausea hadn't set in after the pizza.

Great restaurant in Cochem. After the lunchtime rush, Our party of six was served excellent food in a timely fashion. Staying longer, I certainly would have returned.

If you want very good Italian food then definitely here at the Castello 😊 I ate a calzone (with an extra request) it worked great and the calzone was very well filled 👍 my partner had the veal schnitzel roulades and the pasta had a slight butter note and the beans were on point and you could still taste the garlic oil. The meat was tender and tasteful thanks to the bacon 😊 Despite forgetting the starter, they gave it their all and the boss personally apologized. For this effort and the lovely evening, I take my hat off and say thank you 😊

We enjoyed our pleasant dinner at Costello tonight. We sat very cozy on the terrace and drank a white wine, my wife a seafood pasta and I a pizza with pepperoni sauce and salami and garlic. Both were delicious. The service is also smooth and friendly. Highly recommended.

The food was amazing, a huge quantity of pastas. However it was really hot inside when we visited in July. It reduced the joy of food. We just wanted to get out asap.

Based on the food we would give 5/5 (including delicious bruschetta, pizza and pasta), but the service could have been better. We had to wait a very long time before they came to take our aperitif, even though there was only one other table occupied…. But the most unacceptable was yet to come: when we wanted to order a dessert after our main course, it turned out to be impossible “because the kitchen was closed”. While we arrived at the restaurant perfectly at 1pm during service. If, moreover, the service does not bother to come by after the main course to ask if you would like dessert... Apparently this restaurant does not like to do business, because we were a group of 8 people where they could easily provide dessert and coffee. had been sold to. Therefore as a total experience only 1/5.

The pizza neither comes from a stone oven nor is it really good. Very very greasy floor, floppy and completely soaked. Service was very rude and also talked about us in very derogatory terms in Italian. It's just stupid that you speak and understand Italian yourself. Not recommended the restaurant.

Quite ok. If the food was as great as the ambience, it would be perfect. Unfortunately the pizza was just ok, looked very good, but the taste wasn't convincing, which is why I didn't finish it. In 35 years of eating regularly with Italians, this has only happened very rarely. The lasagna was swimming in sauce and was a very modest portion. The dessert was excellent. The waitresses were very friendly, quick and accommodating. Only at the entrance no one was interested in us despite reservations. The ambience is very nice and second to none. Compared to other restaurants in Cochem, it's probably one of the best in the city, but I can't understand the many 5 star reviews.

I really don’t understand the rave reviews of this place. We started with carpaccio which was far from lovingly prepared. Carpaccio is very easy to prepare and to make extremely tasty. I’ve made it myself and have had it wonderfully made by several restaurants. This was truly the worst I’ve ever had. The very dense, flavorless bread was also absolutely awful. Then I had the lasagna which was mostly sauce. I wanted to ask for a spoon so I could eat my marinara soup (lasagna sauce), but nobody ever paid any attention to me when I needed them. My husband’s pizza was topped with so many red paprika slices that it made the pizza really wet and soggy. Then we ordered coffee and dessert. The coffee came wayyyyy before the dessert so we had to wait to drink it until the desserts arrived. The tiramisu was the only thing that was really good. It was such a disappointing place to eat for my 40th birthday. Originally reviewed with 2 stars. Deducting 1 more star because of the very rude response. Clearly, they cannot handle any criticism. My husband likes lots of different things on his pizza, but not if it comes with a MOUNTAIN of paprika slices and then isn’t cooked long enough. And I’ve never EVER paid more than 15€ for carpaccio. 🤣 I’ve also never met anyone who likes a few noodles with their marinara soup, but okay.

The staff was annoyed and unfriendly, you didn't feel welcome, especially at the entrance. Food was average (pesto noodles with velvet imbocca didn't go well at all - it would have been so much better without pesto. The tagliatelle with chanterelles weren't bad. Quality was okay) Ambience ok but very loud. Not a bad evening but disappointed with the good reviews.

Atmosphere was great! Very cute place. My spaghetti carbonara were al dente and yummy. Caprese salad was yummy. Riesling was great room. However, lasagna was mainly liquid cheese and cause in a casserole type dish. Two people in our party ordered it and both of them rated it a 2 out of 5. We travel to Italy a lot and eat at Italian restaurants in US and this was not consistent with any lasagnas we had before: it had no form and it is just too liquidy. The service was good and I would eat there again, just don’t order lasagna.

Good food at affordable low prices, but there was a lack of hospitality from the host/owner towards tourists. Too bad for such a cozy place. But we ate well. A 5-minute walk from the center of Cochem.

Highly recommended. After 2 x dinners in other restaurants in Cochem full of disappointment, we discovered this restaurant hidden away in the city center. Service, ambience and especially the food were very good. Price performance really top. We only paid 48 euros for 1 beer, 1 wine, 1x starter soup, 1x bruschetta and 2 x pasta dishes. Really highly recommended.

The women were impeccable, but the man left an extremely unpleasant impression, from his placement at the table to his billing with the words (Pay below, I need this table) even though we wanted to order something else. I will not tolerate such behavior towards customers and people. About the food: I would rate the special pizza (which gives it its name) a 6/10. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

We spent a long weekend in Cochem and came based on a recommendation. The welcome was very frosty. There was no “Good evening” or “Glad that you are”. Okay. The drink order came very quickly. The starter didn't come at all. Instead, the main course. Short discussion as to whether we had even ordered the starter. Afterwards, a discussion took place across our table, at the next table, about the wrong meal, which was also the guest's fault. The dessert menu only came after asking twice. But then we decided to leave. The main course was delicious. We couldn't try anything else. There was no “goodbye.”

We went to this restaurant today based on Google reviews. Unfortunately the food wasn't good. The sauces didn't taste like anything, or rather like paprika, because there was paprika powder spread all over the plates. Unfortunately I can't recommend the food. The service or ambience was quite nice though.

Atmosphere chic, service very slow. I think only the man really knows how to serve properly. Unfortunately the lasagna was just swimming in sauce, but the gnocchi was delicious. I think you can do better. On the day we were there, the ladies seemed completely overwhelmed.

Found the Castello in Cochem by chance today, and we were very lucky that we got a table for 4 without a reservation. I haven't eaten such great pizza in a long time. Service, ambience and price/performance are simply great. We will definitely eat there again this week.

Delicious food with friendly staff, would love to come back

After arriving, despite having made a reservation, we had to wait a short time until we were shown to the table. But this wasn't a problem for us because of the many guests. Despite the many guests, the staff was very friendly and took their time with the order. We were also greeted with a "greeting from the kitchen", which is a very nice gesture in good restaurants. The food was very tasty and was of good quality. The price wasn't cheap either, but it was absolutely justified given the service and the food. Nice place to eat Italian dishes. Prices OK - pizza plus drink 15 euros on May 5, 2024. The pizza is large, you can eat enough. A lot of "locals" visit this place, so sometimes it may be difficult to find a free place. Access with a stroller is problematic.

We were there with 22 people and were completely disappointed. The girls in service did their best, but unfortunately the boss was very unfriendly and arrogant. Unfortunately the food wasn't worth the money. We won't eat there again. I'm deducting another star because of the owner's rude response. None of us were drunk and no one was stressed. The boss is just unfriendly and can't take criticism, see answer.
