During my visit to Restaurant Castello in Cochem I was pleasantly surprised. The interior is truly unique; it feels like you're entering a cave. This makes the atmosphere not only cozy and romantic, but also very attractive. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly. It felt like they really paid attention to detail and their guests. The food was also of high quality. I opted for a salmon pizza, something I had never tried before, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The salmon was fresh, the base perfectly crispy, and the combination of flavors was surprisingly delicious. If you are in Cochem, I definitely recommend Restaurant Castello. It is an experience that is a pleasure for both the eyes and the taste buds!

Nice restaurant in a wine cellar atmosphere. Service and the boss were very friendly and attentive. First of all, there was pizza bread with tomato butter as a greeting from the kitchen. For the main course we had 2 delicious pizzas, the base was nice and crispy and the amount of toppings was just right. Definitely a recommendation when visiting Cochem.

I have enjoyed coming to the Castello every now and then for over 30 years and we have held several family and company celebrations there. I would also be happy to recommend it to colleagues or my guests from my holiday apartment business. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is tasty. Whether pizza, pasta or salad, I was always satisfied. Last Saturday we went on a hike through the Enderttal and there were two more people instead of the seven people registered. We hurried because we had no cell phone reception in the valley. Half an hour beforehand, at half past five, we arrived and politely asked if the two people were any longer a problem. The displeasure was clearly noticeable and we were barked at that EVERYONE has a cell phone these days. The unfriendliness was clearly noticeable throughout our visit. I think that's a shame, especially since we asked politely and also offered to move together. The impression is that you no longer need to treat your guests, whether regulars or vacationers, with friendliness. Either way, the hut is always full. Or maybe it's just extremely stressful at the moment and the owner is simply overwhelmed. Let's hope it was an exception.

Ok italian compared to the other place of the city

My husband and I wanted a delicious Italian meal and ended up at the Castello. We can only agree with the many positive reviews. It's really worth eating! The ambience also speaks for itself; many rustic details can be discovered. The service is very attentive and friendly.

With the snitzel you get a delicious large plate of fresh salad and you can choose the dressing. Pizza is delicious and very big and everything fresh. We sat upstairs on the terrace, which was very cozy with patio heaters and it was closed all around so that no cold came in. Prices here are compared to other rest. low. At the time of writing, a nice jug of wine for €6.50. No internet reach. In terms of atmosphere it is really great. Super fun and atmospheric. A tip, the tables are a bit low so no one can cross their legs. Make sure to book in advance because it fills up straight away. That also says enough.

Stay away from the bruchetta and the salad with sheep's cheese. Pizza also bland. The lasagne was tasty. There were five of us and we didn't finish the food. The tomatoes on the bruchetta were roughly chopped and had no flavor whatsoever. The salad also has seasoning. The sheep's cheese was totally bland. The service served with a drawn out face, no smile for the guest. We then left almost everything on our plates. Then the boss came personally and asked whether everything was to our satisfaction. We told him in a friendly manner what we had to complain about and in the middle of the sentence he left without a word. Zero criticism...unbelievable. Suddenly the boss came and brought us a bowl of garlic sauce for taste. That was the height. We gratefully declined, paid and left. We have never been served so unfriendly and have never eaten so badly.

Without a reservation there is no chance of getting a seat on Saturday evening. But everything I saw was a bomb.

Delicious pizza, unfortunately not enough starters. The base of the pizza was a little too floppy. Not quite through in some places, all in all quite ok. Toppings delicious. Service a little slow, kitchen took a little longer. Prices are completely reasonable for the location and the quality of the pizza toppings. Otherwise it was unfortunately very loud (Saturday evening). Thanks for the food!

In the Castello you can eat very well and inexpensively at any time. A table reservation is recommended. The boss serves himself. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy. The tables and chairs are rustic and fit very well into this vaulted cellar. If you are in Cochem, you should definitely eat there. Very nice staff and highly recommended.

Didn't make a reservation, but we were able to get a table for 2. I don't know if it was because we hadn't made a reservation, but it was all very hasty. Not something you want when you are away for a weekend in Cochem. Starter just finished and main course was already on the table. In 45 minutes the evening was over. Wasn't really relaxing. Food was sufficient and tasted good.

We were there for dinner with several people, the pizzas were very good and had plenty of toppings. The pasta dishes also tasted very good. The pricing is absolutely fine. Unfortunately, the dessert didn't convince any of us (we all had different desserts) The staff would have to be trained again in what exactly the individual dishes/desserts are, as no reasonable answer could be given when asked. Otherwise, service staff were relatively hard-working despite the stress that evening. There is still a bit of room for improvement. Unfortunately one of the drinks (Hugo) didn't taste good at all, which is a shame.

A beautiful and quaint restaurant with friendly service and reasonable prices. We have been there several times and have never been disappointed. The bruschetta and the steak with Pferrer sauce were once again a dream and my partner's pizza was delicious. Thank you for the excellent dinner.

Unfortunately the service was subpar. We were greeted very unfriendly (despite reservations) and had the feeling of not being welcome. We also noticed dissatisfaction at other tables. The plates were cleared way too early and without asking, in some cases we hadn't finished eating yet and had only briefly put down the cutlery (not a knife and fork on one side). The drink bottles were also simply taken away without asking. We didn't ask if we wanted another drink. All in all, a very sobering visit. The food was OK to tasty, the portion size was appropriate.

Do you actually write your reviews yourself? Last night's meal was disastrous. We each had a pasta dish. Completely unseasoned and the food was lukewarm. Apparently the microwave didn't have enough watts. We don't even want to mention the salad or what it was supposed to represent. Oh yes, the edge of the plate belongs to the guest and not the paprika powder. Our rating for the ambience applies to the terrace. We can't understand the many 5 star reviews at all.

Rarely have I seen such an extensive children's menu. Our son was thrilled. There was even a children's pizza. All dishes were very tasty and absolutely fair in price. Ambience great. We sat inside in the vaulted cellar. Everything nicely decorated. Can only recommend this restaurant 👍

Gewoonweg slecht! Eten zeer slecht en bediening bedenkelijk. Trio van pasta was gewoon een kommetje met drie soorten pasta met iets dat op een tomatensaus moest lijken waar ik een paar stukjes gehakt heb in gevonden.

Zowel het voorgerecht als de pasta waren een blamage voor de Italiaanse keuken. Bovendien kregen we onze drank pas na aandringen. Het voorgerecht was ondertussen al op de tafel gegooid. Kortom schande!

Schande Haal in de supermarkt een blik ravioli en je hebt beter gegeten. Wij kregen 3 soorten pasta gemengd met passata en room, beetje kaas erover en de oven in. Met 3 miniscule brokjes gehakt. Voorgerecht was sneller geserveerd dan de drank.

The starters are really good. However, the stone oven pizza really doesn't work at all. It has no taste and is really poorly topped. The boss of the house is also simply unpleasant in his manner. He always makes derogatory comments and generally seems very annoyed. I would recommend everyone to go to one of the other pizzerias.

Well, the food was partly OK partly not so good. The not so good part was probably caused by using old meat (it was chewy), and many of the ingredients felt like some frozen food from the supermarket re-heated. Not really nice by an Italian restaurant. Dai. The service was OK, but maybe they might need more people when it gets too busy.

No idea how this can be the best Italian locally, if it is (we only tried this one), then good night Cucina Italiana in Cochem. There are 2 stars because we were full and the service was ok. There was scampi shell in the mixed salad - rather disgusting if you ordered a mixed salad without any seafood. The waiter was surprised when he said this, but that was it. The pizza was ok but super greasy and the “spicy” salami was soggy and bathed in too much cheese, the feeling of fullness lasted throughout the night. Price would have been reasonable if the salad had been okay and the slight nausea hadn't set in after the pizza.
