A great restaurant in the middle of many tourist traps in town. We were there in the off-season when this restaurant was one of the few open. Food was great, relatively cheap (compared to others in town) and came quickly. The selection of regional wine was also great. Beforehand there were fresh pizza rolls with tomato butter on the house. The ambience of a cellar vault was well implemented.

We enjoyed eating here and everyone was thrilled. Everything is perfect here - ambience, competent and friendly service and, above all, delicious, freshly prepared food! We particularly like pasta - homemade and al dente. Also important - the kitchen is clean, professionally equipped and professionals are working (the door was open briefly) Keep it up

I was in Cochem with my husband for a few days and had dinner there on the first evening. Everyone was very friendly, the food was so delicious, highly recommended. A very cozy, familiar Italian restaurant.

Wonderful atmosphere with authentic Italian food. Very happy again. Maybe the waitress at the counter should make sure that guests can see her when she chews gum so unappetizingly.

Short and sweet but from the heart: great atmosphere, very nice staff and absolutely great cuisine. Four of us girls went out for dinner and made reservations for the next evening on our first visit. No matter whether pizza, steak, mussels or pasta dish: mega authentic cuisine and very tasty! We felt very welcome! If we're in Cochem again, we'll definitely visit the Castello! Absolute recommendation!! It makes sense to reserve a table, as it is understandably very busy.

During my visit to Restaurant Castello in Cochem I was pleasantly surprised. The interior is truly unique; it feels like you're entering a cave. This makes the atmosphere not only cozy and romantic, but also very attractive. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly. It felt like they really paid attention to detail and their guests. The food was also of high quality. I opted for a salmon pizza, something I had never tried before, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The salmon was fresh, the base perfectly crispy, and the combination of flavors was surprisingly delicious. If you are in Cochem, I definitely recommend Restaurant Castello. It is an experience that is a pleasure for both the eyes and the taste buds!

First of all, on the positive side, the atmosphere in the wine cellar is very nice and the prices are okay. Unfortunately, the food was very bland and we all had to add a lot of salt at the table. We also didn't find the service to be friendly.

Nice restaurant in a wine cellar atmosphere. Service and the boss were very friendly and attentive. First of all, there was pizza bread with tomato butter as a greeting from the kitchen. For the main course we had 2 delicious pizzas, the base was nice and crispy and the amount of toppings was just right. Definitely a recommendation when visiting Cochem.

I have enjoyed coming to the Castello every now and then for over 30 years and we have held several family and company celebrations there. I would also be happy to recommend it to colleagues or my guests from my holiday apartment business. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is tasty. Whether pizza, pasta or salad, I was always satisfied. Last Saturday we went on a hike through the Enderttal and there were two more people instead of the seven people registered. We hurried because we had no cell phone reception in the valley. Half an hour beforehand, at half past five, we arrived and politely asked if the two people were any longer a problem. The displeasure was clearly noticeable and we were barked at that EVERYONE has a cell phone these days. The unfriendliness was clearly noticeable throughout our visit. I think that's a shame, especially since we asked politely and also offered to move together. The impression is that you no longer need to treat your guests, whether regulars or vacationers, with friendliness. Either way, the hut is always full. Or maybe it's just extremely stressful at the moment and the owner is simply overwhelmed. Let's hope it was an exception.

We sat upstairs on the terrace, which was very cozy with patio heaters and it was closed all around so that no cold came in. Prices here are compared to other rest. low. At the time of writing, a nice jug of wine for €6.50. No internet reach. In terms of atmosphere it is really great. Super fun and atmospheric. A tip, the tables are a bit low so no one can cross their legs. Make sure to book in advance because it fills up straight away. That also says enough.

One of the few restaurants in Cochem that doesn't want to rip off tourists. Good food at fair prices

Stay away from the bruchetta and the salad with sheep's cheese. Pizza also bland. The lasagne was tasty. There were five of us and we didn't finish the food. The tomatoes on the bruchetta were roughly chopped and had no flavor whatsoever. The salad also has seasoning. The sheep's cheese was totally bland. The service served with a drawn out face, no smile for the guest. We then left almost everything on our plates. Then the boss came personally and asked whether everything was to our satisfaction. We told him in a friendly manner what we had to complain about and in the middle of the sentence he left without a word. Zero criticism...unbelievable. Suddenly the boss came and brought us a bowl of garlic sauce for taste. That was the height. We gratefully declined, paid and left. We have never been served so unfriendly and have never eaten so badly.

In the Castello you can eat very well and inexpensively at any time. A table reservation is recommended. The boss serves himself. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy. The tables and chairs are rustic and fit very well into this vaulted cellar. If you are in Cochem, you should definitely eat there. Very nice staff and highly recommended.

Too bad that dogs are also allowed. Absolute negative. The dog in question didn't bother me, but those animals don't belong in a restaurant.

Didn't make a reservation, but we were able to get a table for 2. I don't know if it was because we hadn't made a reservation, but it was all very hasty. Not something you want when you are away for a weekend in Cochem. Starter just finished and main course was already on the table. In 45 minutes the evening was over. Wasn't really relaxing. Food was sufficient and tasted good.

We were there for dinner with several people, the pizzas were very good and had plenty of toppings. The pasta dishes also tasted very good. The pricing is absolutely fine. Unfortunately, the dessert didn't convince any of us (we all had different desserts) The staff would have to be trained again in what exactly the individual dishes/desserts are, as no reasonable answer could be given when asked. Otherwise, service staff were relatively hard-working despite the stress that evening. There is still a bit of room for improvement. Unfortunately one of the drinks (Hugo) didn't taste good at all, which is a shame.

A beautiful and quaint restaurant with friendly service and reasonable prices. We have been there several times and have never been disappointed. The bruschetta and the steak with Pferrer sauce were once again a dream and my partner's pizza was delicious. Thank you for the excellent dinner.

Unfortunately the service was subpar. We were greeted very unfriendly (despite reservations) and had the feeling of not being welcome. We also noticed dissatisfaction at other tables. The plates were cleared way too early and without asking, in some cases we hadn't finished eating yet and had only briefly put down the cutlery (not a knife and fork on one side). The drink bottles were also simply taken away without asking. We didn't ask if we wanted another drink. All in all, a very sobering visit. The food was OK to tasty, the portion size was appropriate.

Do you actually write your reviews yourself? Last night's meal was disastrous. We each had a pasta dish. Completely unseasoned and the food was lukewarm. Apparently the microwave didn't have enough watts. We don't even want to mention the salad or what it was supposed to represent. Oh yes, the edge of the plate belongs to the guest and not the paprika powder. Our rating for the ambience applies to the terrace. We can't understand the many 5 star reviews at all.

We ate a very tasty pizza and the host didn't mind giving everyone the bill even though we were a group of ten people. Not every restaurateur does that. Gladly again
